After having spoken to Lori on the phone yesterday and meeting John in person today I feel so much better that we're renting from them. You get that one on one attention and all the answers to your questions. Not once Lori stopped me on the phone or John in person today. An inflatable or a rigid board? I ended with the rigid one. They're awesome! The store is located in a strip mall near the Home Depot. Inside you will find that they're loaded with a paddle board for every level and size. Their background in talking about the boards are legit. The whole family are lifetime users. So yeah. John more than a decade. You can reserve your rental online n sign a waiver as well online. Ex. Of their price: $90/2days. Life jackets comes with every rentals. REI is $80/2days. In this instance I find it was difficult to get a hold of anybody In the rental dept at the REI on Platte. It's a blessing in disguise. This business will treat you right! It's an easy decision to like them and to wanna rent from them again. Check them out! Mindy and Nathan were awesome. We had them completely outfit our family with boards, paddles and PFDs(life jackets). We love everything we got from them and their help in knowing what we didn't know we didn't know. We also used them for a group outing with youth, and they were quite helpful in making it run smoothly! Highly recommend. Surfs Up has a tent at Chatfield State Park and they rent standup paddle boards. My wife has rented from them in the past and has also been to their store. They have always been extremely friendly and helpful and their prices are very reasonable. The gear is in top condition as well. My wife has gotten to know them quite well and they have gotten to know her as well. I have a bad ankle, so when we made the reservation for this weekend, we asked if they might have a kayak that we could rent. They usually don't rent kayaks, but they brought one from the store just for me. It was really special that they were able to accommodate me with my bad ankle. They even helped me with my boot that I have to wear. We had a great time today. Thanks so much Surfs Up for helping make this outing to Chatfield very enjoyable. read more

I originally walked in to this small shop to rent some boards, but you can't rent in store so I rented 1 inflatable and 2 hard SUPs online, then called and changed to 3 hard boards for 2 days for a total ~$300. The customer service in store and on the phone were GREAT. The online ordering website could use an upgrade but it was still easy to use on my phone. I'm 5'6" 130lbs and have absolutely NO upper body strength so I had a hard time loading/unloading the boards by myself, so keep loading into consideration. If you rent the inflatables and need to pump those all by your lonesome self, it's about the same amount of work upper body wise. ‍ And make sure you pay attention to how they strap the hard boards atop your vehicle!!! I didn't and suffered terrifying wind sounds after our first attempt at securing the boards ourselves haha. If you walk into the shop, you may be greeted by the most adorable kid who is quite persuasive with the incredible knowledge of the boards and accessories! Only downfall is this store is south of most lakes I want to visit so it was quite out of the way at the end of the day. read more

I needed a few parts for my SUP at the end of the summer that I couldn't get in time had I gone to the manufacturer prior to hitting the mountain rivers. Went in here on a whim and they had everything I needed and then some. The woman at the counter was really helpful and fixed me up quickly. This was my first time renting a SUP from this company out at the gravel pond at Chatfield. The location is amazing. So peaceful and lots of room to paddle around with the beautiful Colorado mountains in the background. I called to see if they had any availability right then as I was already at Chatfield Reservoir. A lovely lady named Lori helped me out and said they would be happy to accommodate me and sent a message to the rental place to let them know I was heading over. I met with Brittany. Told her a bit of what I was looking for with the intention of purchasing a SUP once I learned the best size, type etc. She was incredibly knowledgeable and so willing to help answer my questions and help me to find the perfect board. She asked the right questions in order to find out what my style is, what I was looking for the board to do performance wise for lakes, rivers and even ocean surfing. She pulled two out for me to try first. Two different brands. She explained the history of the brands, pros and cons of each one, features and benefits regarding performance. I tried each one and then afterwards she asked m some other questions so she could start to narrow down a perfect match for me. The third board was great. I have room to grow on the board as my skills develop and it has flexibility for different paddle boarding environments and situations. It has maneuverability and nice glide with some speed for just messing around and having fun on. It is great for solid workouts and working on my stroke and technique. She was such a pleasure to work with. After we found the right board for me, I went back out and worked with it and Brittany actually came out on her board to check in with me to see how I was doing, if I had any questions and if I wanted to try any other boards. She explained the different paddle composites and what her preferences were. She went over the laws regarding SUP's and different PFD in the form of vests and ones that you can wear around your waist that are in a fanny pack style with a CO2 cartridge to inflate them if needed. She asked about my ability to store the SUP when not in use and if I have a vehicle set up to transport the SUP on my outings. She thought of everything that I would not have thought to ask about as I am new to this sport. I so appreciate her and the fact that the company is a family owned business. I found my board and a great business to use for my purchase and all the accessories to complete my set up. Thank you again for an awesome experience. read more
