The women helping us rent the boats was lovely and it was great customer service. Unfortunately the kids who you get the equipment from were lazy rude and more interested in their phones than helping us. They didn't even bother getting up and helping us bring the equipment back. They sat there and watched us and laughed. why would you pay staff to sit around on their phones and not lift a finger to help us return your equipment? id rather do it all myself then deal with rude staff. Rented a single kayak for an hour from the Bear Creek Lake Park location. Circled around for a little as there was no signage at the Park entrance. Upon entering turn right at the stop sign, when you reach Soda Lake Parking turn in there to find RMP. Aside from that hiccup had a great experience! This review is for the Cherry Creek locations. First, they are dog-friendly (sharing because I couldn't easily find this info on their website). Second, we had reserved two single kayaks and they only had one available for our time slot (?). They were flexible, and adjusted a tandem kayak to work for us (2 people + 2 dogs), and were flexible when we arrived a few minutes late. Staff was NOT good about wearing masks when interacting with us. read more

This was for the Bear Creek location. I wouldn't give a single star unless having to in order to write a review. I'm telling you, do not waste $25-$40 here unless you enjoy being condescended by the staff and smelling like sewer water from being in Soda Lake. Checking in wasn't the worst, but it was after we were checked in and told we were all set to go by the gentleman working the check-in window that everything became a shitty experience. The guy at the check-in window gave us directions on where to grab our PFDs and paddles from, which we followed to the T. However, as we are following these directions, a very rude, miserable woman began screaming at us, "Do you guys not know how to follow directions? You're not supposed to grab from over there, you're supposed to get a PFD then come under the blue tent, grab a paddle, then stand on a pink dot!!!" We were literally told the opposite, and became extremely uncomfortable at the way we were approached by this woman. We begin to follow these new directions given to us by the rude woman, by grabbing from the paddles under the infamous blue tent and placed ourselves on the pink dots. The woman only gets worse from here. She begins the quick SUP tutorial and is extremely condescending throughout. As some people are following along but aren't quite up to par, she calls them out to embarrass them, rather than give a kind redirection of what to do. As I was following her demonstration on locking the lever back in after adjusting the paddle handle to my height, I was struggling to lock it in place and exclaims to me, "You have to push it down to lock it in place, didn't you hear me?" I heard her, but I was trying to be gentle with the stupid thing because she had just yelled at my boyfriend for not being so gentle. She was a straight up b*tch, to be entirely honest. She ruined the whole experience for not only my group, but others that were within our reservation as well. Maybe it was just a bad day for her and I'm sure she deals with people who really don't follow directions on a day to day basis, but hey you literally work somewhere where people who have never tried SUP before visit. It's literally your job to show people what to do and that means people aren't always going to follow directions properly or understand what they are. Also, maybe it was just this particular lady who is miserable going to work, but the fact they even employ her despite this behavior is justification for a one star for the company as a whole. If you absolutely are going to choose this place, don't go at 4:30p on Saturdays, because you may run into the same condescending woman. read more

This is for the Cherry Creek location. We decided to go on a little outing for some fun outdoors before the snow hit! We made this little outing for Labor Day so, I made reservations ahead of time and books two paddle boards and two waterproof bags for two hours. The stand was a little difficult to find so I am glad we got there early. When we got there the staff was slightly short but I didn't think anything of it. One woman who worked at the stand came in off the water and then began helping customers without her mask and even stayed "oh sorry I don't have my mask" (apathetically) and did and did continued to not wear her mask. When we went to get our boards, they had no idea I had rented the waterproof bags. The woman was condescending as she explained things. Then when we returned at the end of our time, it got worse! She was yelling at us to kneel and then was extremely rude to us! I can't believed we paid $100 for two hours just to be treated like this. The other woman still wasn't wearing her mask and was high-fiving a customer. It was also hard not to notice that the white men customers seemed to get much friendly customer service... Next time I would rather go buy paddle boards than be treated like this. read more

We drove 45 minutes to get to Bear Lake and when we got there the company said they are not renting today even though we paid $120 and reserved paddle boards for 11:30-1:30pm on their website. We received no phone call or email stating they were going to close today . They claimed it was due to "wind" .. I checked my weather app and the wind was 8mph. We are all above the age of 25 and have a lot of experience with SUP's. We have used them in open oceans + fast current rivers . I feel we should have been able to sign a liability waiver and rented . The wind was so minimal that its a JOKE we couldn't rent today and drove all this way for nothing. In my opinion the company should have reached out first thing this morning to let us know considering we made a reservation and our contact info is in their system. On top of all this they stated : "We do not have anyone working that is trained to rescue someone if something were to happen." This is a MAJOR issue considering they are supposedly trained instructors and are working for a water equipment rental company.. all of their staff should be CPR + Lifeguard trained . poor management . read more

Love this company and the people making their customer's day that much brighter! My husband and I went paddle boarding at Union Reservoir in Longmont for 3 hours. The transaction was seamless and a breeze. The gal fitting us with the paddle was super friendly and the guy giving us instructions for the paddle board was funny, charming and put any anxieties I had at ease. Coming back to shore, we were created with big smiles and their full attention. I'd recommend making reservations in advance and have fun! read more

We had a really nice time out on the lake with the paddle boards. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I was surprised that we were all able to stand right up and stay standing on our boards. I thought it would be much harder and I expected to fall. The lake was calm and peaceful. There were lots of families out and dogs too. The water temp was perfect for a warm day. read more

Everything was great with my experience except it was not clear that when you took out a Paddleboard you need to have some sort of collateral. Be sure to bring something other than a phone that you can leave with them. The kid at the front desk was really put out that the only thing I had on me was my phone. As far as the lesson went I absolutely recommend it, our teacher was amazing. I wish I could remember his name because he was so excited about paddle boarding . He helped me a ton in the first 15 minutes of class. Even if you think you know how to paddleboard I think it would be well worth taking this class. read more

I've rented paddleboards from them at Bear Creek 2-3 times. They are very organized, friendly, and cover the main safety things. They did a nice job sanitizing equipment for Covid and I hope they continue that for the PFDs since PFD's tend to get stinky. I will definitely rent from them again. My main issue it that it can get windy, especially in the afternoon. They can't control the weather but they could do a better job of explaining this on the website and in person since new paddleboarders don't know what a difference wind can make. On our first trip we immediately paddled all the way across the lake, then the wind picked up, and we spent most of our rental time trying to paddle back with the wind against us. Myself and two kids. Luckily the wind calmed down after about 30 minutes and we were able to get back. There was also some sort of rescue boat that we saw when the wind first started, but we weren't sure when it was appropriate to use it and didn't yet realize how hard it would be to paddle back. It would have been really helpful if they had explained about the wind forecast, wind direction, difficulty paddling in the wind, and the rescue boat situation (is it for anytime you don't feel like paddling or only for life-threatening emergencies?). Now I know to check the wind forecast and that it is best to paddle in the morning. read more

Great experience renting double kayaks for the fam! Reserved online to be safe but it wasn't too crowded since it was a cooler day. They have a large selection of boats and also all sizes of life vests that can even fit toddlers. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The soda lakes are great for an hour of paddling around. Beautiful view of Red Rocks too. We'll rent from them again, glad they are at this new location! read more

So much fun!! I rented a couple of paddle boards while we were out at the lake. Reasonable prices, friendly service and great memories. The girl who rented the paddle boards was super friendly and gave us quick instruction. I'm so hooked now and I want to buy my own paddle board. Such a great activity. The boards were pretty much new, they'll have life jackets available if needed, we had our own life jackets because we were jetskiing earlier. Her simple instruction was great- I feel like a pro now LOL. Totally joking but I was able to stand up and move around pretty fluidly towards the end. Great company! This experience was amazing and I highly recommend the pontoon boat rental with Captain Shawn. The customer service was just top notch and we had the BEST TIME. We rented a pontoon boat for two hours with a captain and two paddle boards. When we arrived at the res there was a lightning warning so we had to wait but the staff was friendly and assured us once the ban was lifted they would help us get situated. We came back at the time they told us and they were happy to get us on boarded. Captain Shawn was so friendly, funny, nice, and really made sure that we had a great time. We were celebrating my birthday and I wanted to do something different but was also nervous that maybe it would be boring. It was anything but. There were speakers on boat which made it really fun and Captain Shawn really took care of us. We appreciated it so much. We were unable to use the paddle boards and not only did the captain reassure us that we could get a refund or credit, the staff did as well. They made it so easy for us and didn't make us jump through any hoops. We will be coming back! read more

We had the best time paddle boarding on Bear Lake today! The gentleman who checked us in was very informative and gave us a few tricks on how to utilize/maximize the paddle while paddle boarding. Bear Lake itself is clean and clear- I would have felt very comfortable falling in. We rented at Boulder Reservoir for two hours between 4-6pm. It was easy pick up and drop off. We got our boards a little late so they let us do a full two hours from the moment we touched water. Relaxed and fun. Good gear. read more

Bear Creek...I absolutely do NOT recommend this company. It's poorly managed. The staff is TERRIBLE. They are not at all knowledgeable or helpful and are very unprofessional. The lake is small and overcrowded and the line to get in the park is always ridiculous. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Lexi at Rocky Mountain Paddle Board at the Boulder Reservoir was amazing at setting me up with a modern, clean pontoon boat. She explained it thoroughly including guidelines for the reservoir and the boat itself. I had the reservoir mostly to myself. After I got past the no-wake buoys I was able to enjoy a nice cruising speed along the reservoir. I definitely would recommend anyone who wants a great, relaxing boating experience to check them out. read more

Management at this place is TERRIBLE. Had a reservation at 12:30 and arrived at 12:35 due to insane traffic to get inside of the park, absolutely no parking, being ignored at the window, etc. The woman who was getting us checked in (the manager!) was extremely rude and condescending. The week prior to this (when we were 15 mins early) our reservations got cancelled due to "wind" and we were forced to reschedule. The woman said that that wasn't her fault and that our time was now down to 45 mins... it took another 15 minutes to finally get someone to get us out on the water and we didn't end up getting out until 1:00, leaving us a total of 30 mins on the water. She told us that if we went even 5 mins over our time limit we'd get charged for another hour. Will definitely be buying my own Paddleboard vs renting from this place again. $25 for 30 mins on a small lake.... not worth it at all unless you're visiting. read more
