    Rafting down the river
    Alanna W.

Last Tuesday, my boyfriend and I took the Upper Colorado Rafting trip with Ben and had an amazing time. He gave great directions so we felt safe. On the bus ride to the place where we took the rafts out and throughout the time in the river, he gave us tons of funny stories and information about the areas we passed. We hope to return to CO again and do a rafting trip or winter excursion soon. We loved it!

We had an amazing time white water rafting with the crew at Mad! Our kids 6 and 9 had a blast! James our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and had a great spirit to him! He helped make the trip a very memorable one! Plus, the scenery was epic! Saw a black bear on the bus ride down and a bald eagle flying through the canyon and land in its nest. Cliff jumping was definitely the highlight! Thanks again for a great time!

We had a group of four moms, and six kids ages 5 to 8. You could call us "city folk", and we were excited, but a tad nervous about our river excursion out of Kremmling. Well, it ended up being the highlight of our vacation! We were on the river for about 2 hours, which was the perfect amount of time for the youngest. The rapids were exactly the right level for the whole family, and the kids loved the fact that they got to paddle. Our amazing guide, Elliott, was so kind and patient with the hundreds of questions our chatty kids and parents threw at him every other minute, and he gave great directions and narrative about the area we were rafting in. The booking process was easy, and when I called and spoke to Krista, she patiently and kindly asked every neurotic question I had. Kara was our bus tour guide on the way to the river, and her jokes and exposition rivaled the Disney Jungle Cruise (that's right, I said it). She was also amazing with all the kids. At one point, we stopped at a spot along the river that had the perfect depth and rock to jump off, and she offered to jump alongside a little girl who wanted to jump, but got nervous when the time came. Everyone was accommodating, safe, and patient. Biggest thanks to Elliott for making our trip so memorable! We'll be back- 10/10.

MAD Adventures gave us an awesome white water rafting experience. We brought our family for their first time and they had a blast. We loved our guide Emily! She was super knowledgeable & made the trip fun!

This year, I went early season on Clear Creek and loved it so much I came back late season for Gore Canyon- an adrenaline-packed, fun adventure! The day started with a swim test to make sure everyone was prepared before tackling Class V rapids. (Honestly, if you're not a strong swimmer, this trip isn't for you, they do test your swimming in the rapids and throughout the trip over half of the people across our 5 rafts ended up in the water at some point! Additionally this would be quite the dive into the deep end if you've never rafted before!) The trip was an incredible mix of thrills, skill, and crazy beautiful scenery you would not have guessed was there when you drive into Kremmling. Midway through, we stopped for snacks, and when we wrapped up, the crew served a delicious lunch and cold beers (NA options were there too!) such a nice touch after a big day! What sets Liquid Descent apart is the crew. Every guide I've had has been dedicated to making the trip special. I've talked to them and many of them have said they specifically choose to work here because of the company's extra training and the sense of community. I even met the owner yesterday at Gore Canyon, and you can tell the company's passion for customer experience comes directly from the top. Specifically the last 2 guides I've had, Jordan and Malia have been awesome! Yes, most rafting companies use the same put-in/take-out points and similar gear but the experience is what makes the difference. With Liquid Descent, the guides make sure it's the best it can be and their love for their job ensures you're going to have a great time. I've rafted with other companies in locations where liquid descent isnt and know: the right guide changes everything. If you're looking for an unforgettable rafting trip in Colorado, Liquid Descent is the company to go with!

I was so nervous walking in, but from the moment we arrived, every single staff member made us feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Our guide, Koa, was the perfect balance of fun, kind, and incredibly skilled. He guided us through the rapids with such confidence and ease while also making sure everyone felt safe and included. He checked in on us several times throughout and made sure we were having fun, asked us if we wanted to "spice it up" a bit or keep it mellow and just really let us know this was "our" trip and he's cater to what we wanted. I quickly found myself letting go of fear and enjoying the moment... something I didn't expect would happen. Koa's energy was contagious, and his calm, respectful nature made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. At one point on the river, another rafting company had a mishap and we had to pull over and wait for them to recover and get their riders back into the raft safely. Koa explained what had happened with total grace - no judgment, no gossip - just a calm and respectful explanation. He also spoke so kindly of his own coworkers and even the owner of Liquid Descent. You could tell he genuinely cares about the rafting community and takes pride in his work and LOVES his Liquid Descent family! Every employee we encountered was friendly, encouraging, and helpful - from getting us fitted with helmets and life jackets to cheering us on as we headed out. As someone who started out nervous, that kind of supportive vibe made a huge difference. They encouraged me, and they helped me push past my comfort zone in the best way possible. What a GREAT memory! We will remember this day not only for the thrill of the rapids, but for the kindness and heart of the people who guided us through it! If you are considering rafting in Colorado, go with Liquid Descent. I'm so glad we did!

But Austin was our fearless rafting guide and part-time therapist--who calmed nerves, cracked jokes, and got us paddling in no time. From the very first splash, Austin made us feel safe and slightly more athletic than we actually are. He coached us through the twists and turns of the creek, and somehow convinced our teens that getting absolutely drenched and paddling for their lives was the best day ever. Miracles do exist. We glided through hidden stretches of the creek like pros (or at least like enthusiastic amateurs with great lighting), hollering with joy and soaking up every second of the adventure. Even the "hold on tight!" moments felt like a ride at a theme park--but with better views and less screaming. 10/10 would paddle again. It's time to kick some knowledge on Downstream Adventures rafting so follow along…read more We came with a group of 4 couples and most of them had little to no previous experience in rafting. We signed up for the intermediate level tour and what a blast we had. For those that don't know, this tour consisted of class 3-4 level rapids and required everyone to participate- or should I say paddle. We went late in the season so the water level was low which made things slightly more difficult as hitting more rocks was likely. Anyways, we grabbed our guide Philip and headed off. Philip was a great guide and if you get the chance I highly recommend using him. Word from Boat Crew 2 is Tippy was solid too. He had a great attitude and gave all of us clear instructions. As we floated down the river we had the typical bumps and spins. Some areas were a little harry but nothing extreme. A few people in different boats had a few fall out during the trip but nobody was ejected and nearly every boat got high-sided on a rock or two which required the boat captain to work a bit. Aside from that, everything went pretty smoothly. During one point we came across this dude who was fishing. He was absolutely lost and had no idea what he was doing. As boats got close to him he continued casting where most people would wait until the boat passed. Well, not this village idiot. This clown literally cast his line into our boat and snagged someone in our boat landing the hook into her shorts. All in all, this was a great trip and everyone had a blast. My buddies AnnTony and T-Bone were in another boat and even though they are generally grumpy and stubborn they also had a great time. Next time you are in the Denver area and if your looking for some fun and adventure, I highly recommend you check them out- you won't be disappointed. Two thumbs up! Oh, I nearly forgot about the bus. So, if you don't know, you have to jump on a yellow school bus to be brought to/from the river from the store. The bus ride itself was an E ticket ride. The best way to describe it would be picture the video game Grand Theft Auto where you can upgrade your car to a tank or school bus. Let's just say we were had fun. Good times.

You fill out the wavier paperwork, get a speech from one of the workers, and go through the line to your life jacket and paddle. They also have shoes for rent if you need them. The bus ride to the launch point is about 30 minutes. The staff do their best to keep everyone entertained while your on the bus; telling jokes, telling you facts about landmarks, and the local area. When you get to the launch point it's about another 15 minutes before you get on your raft. They go through another 5-7 minute speech about the water, how to maneuver, and all the safety stuff (just in case crap goes wrong). Then they split you up into groups and you load the raft. We truly had a blast on the raft and I never felt like I was at risk of injury, or unsafe through the entire ride. From start to finish it was about a 2 hour trip; but it went by really fast. I could have rode the river for at least another 1-2 hours. It was super chill and some of the rough waters (class II and III) didn't last long but made the ride very exciting. We did stop for about 30 minutes at a point where you can jump off a cliff. There is a 25 foot cliff as well as a small jump spot for kids (my 4 year old jumped from the small spot). I did go up to the 25 foot jump (along with about 30 other people). Jumping was not a problem at all because you walk up to the edge and simply walk off for the jump. They don't give you anytime to look around, think, or get scared. 30 people jumped off in less than 7-8 minutes. It felt great!! The ride back to the main store was much shorter; about 15 minutes. Overall we had a great time and it was well worth it.
