I wish I could give this tour five stars, but I must admit that it was the most terrifying experience of my 40-year-old life. After reading the website information and reviews, my partner and I were confident it would be unforgettable. And that, it was. One month ago, we eagerly made a reservation for a two-hour tour on a double ATV. We had driven ATVs before, so reviewing and signing the waiver was not of concern. After the practice round, our group of five ATVs was asked if there was any fear of driving near cliffs. Three of the five participants, including me (the backseat passenger), raised their hands. The tour guide laughed and said that it wouldn't be that bad, so I made the mistake of assuming that he was exaggerating and/or had an alternate route available. As we climbed up the mountain full of large rocks along paths of varying widths, we encountered the first cliff. To my surprise, there was no wall, railing, or alternate route to prevent us from driving off the cliff as we bounced along the narrow, bumpy path. My partner followed the line of ATVs and stopped as he approached the edge straight-on. At that point, we were on our way off the cliff and the abrupt stop saved our lives. I screamed which caught the attention of the ATV immediately in front of us. We climbed off the ATV and I opted to walk up the remainder of the cliff. When the tour guide noticed we were missing, he returned to check on us. We continued along the way because he reassured me that there was not another cliff ahead. Apparently, he meant "immediately" ahead because we encountered another cliff a while later. That time, I opted to walk down the mountain until I felt comfortable riding again. As I declined, I kept turning around to check on my partner as he drove downward. I heard him driving, followed by trees breaking. When I turned around, the path was clear, so I yelled, "Help," as I carefully ran up the mountain towards him. Luckily, the trees broke his fall and the ATV was off the cliff, leaning against them on its side. If I had remained on the vehicle, the impact may have thrown me off and sent me tumbling down the mountain. After a couple of minutes, the tour guide came to check on us and instructed us to walk back up the path to await transportation back to the facility. He utilized his emergency kit to treat the cuts on my partner's arms and hands. Once transportation arrived, we rode down the mountain along the same route in a UTV. As we approached the first terrifying spot, I asked to walk, and the driver warned me of the increased danger. I remained in the vehicle with my eyes shut and head down until we reached the bottom. Along the ride, my partner and the driver discussed the concerns about the road conditions. The driver told us they (the company) and locals have expressed concerns to the county regarding the erosion, yet nothing has been done. Although I have participated in many adventurous activities worldwide, including skydiving, whitewater rafting, skiing, etc., I have never experienced a near-death experience until this day. I would have greatly appreciated more transparency regarding the dangers of this activity. I would not have registered us for this excursion if I had known about the cliffs in advance. read more

After doing this tour, I understand why they call it "Rock Crawling". Nick was our guide and he was fabulous. I was not confident and a bit nervous and he never made me feel rushed or dumb. I was blown away by what the ATV's could do. Looking at the rocks on the trail I was convinced I'd bottom out or fall over, but it was great. There's few challenging spots on the trail, but we got it done! read more

We had Nick as our tour guide and he was amazing!! He always offered to take pictures, help with the helmets, and stopped to make sure everyone was doing okay frequently throughout the tour. He was accommodating to everyone and made us feel safe on the tour. Super nice and friendly guy to talk with as well which made it such a fun experience! Me, My husband and our 16 yo daughter took the two hour ATV tour this AM!! This ain't your 'fly by the seat of your pants' type of tour. We had THE BEST time and it was a wild tour over massive rocks, up/down hills & creeks, through puddles. The ATV's themselves are massive beasts, the best of the best, that roll over massive boulders on the trails. Don't hesitate to take an ATV tour with these guys!! read more

What an awesome experience. Austin and Tyler were awesome guides and took us to a cool look out over a silver mining site. The best part was when they showed us an old mine cave that was 70% blocked by ice. My group went in and to check it out. The road was rockier than expected which made it all the more exciting. First let me say that having been born in NYC, and now living in Florida, the drive alone to Dumont, CO is well worth the price of admission. You can't appreciate the beauty from pictures. As for the experience, right from the moment we arrived we were treated as friends, by the staff and the resident black labs. Our guide Patrick took us through a quick orientation on the ATVs and on the plan for the ride. He then led us through a few laps in the parking area and a few more laps around the street level obstacle course. Then we started our "climb", following old silver mine roads from an elevation of 8200ft up to approx 9800ft. All the while Patrick made sure the pace and path worked for us. Near the top of our run, Patrick gave us a very informative and interactive history lesson. A bit more uphill climbing, then we started back down the mountain. Once back at home base, we met the owner who again made us feel welcome and appreciated. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour whether you're an ATV pro or a first timer! read more

OMGOSH!!! Loved this trip!!! Guides Austin and Tyler were amazing and informative! Trail is rather rocky, so be prepared. You get to practice before going, so if it's your first time ATV-ing, take advantage of it. The sights are awe-inspiring! So cool to go about 10K feet up, to see the landscape from that level is like no other. Stopped at an old mine entrance. Blocked by snow, but climbed to the entrance to check it out. A few of the group actually went in the mine and said it was really neat to see the inside. In short, do yourself a huge favor and GO ON THIS TOUR!! read more

Coming from Texas, we knew we had to put this on our list. We hadn't ridden ATVs in 20 years and feeling a little apprehensive when we showed up. We booked a 2-hour ride and it was amazing! Check-in was easy and everyone was friendly including their black lab Smokey. Nick our guide, took us along some great trails, some sand, hills, rocks, and creeks! We have done multiple ATV tours and rentals and this was by far our favorite. The owners Chuck and Sarah are awesome and run a first class operation. Chuck guided our tour personally. The tour goes through what remains of a former mining town and by some very cool old mines. The views are spectacular. The trail is fine for all ages and abilities. read more

Beware! This is not for novice riders! I am a 1st time rider, came down a steep hill and tapped a tree. It was an accident going less than 2mph. The shop owner charged me $1600 in damages and when we questioned him he got very aggressive and volatile...told me, "I'm charging you double for labor now bc I can"- for asking questions. If you are not familiar with ATVing please beware of this company! I own that I broke something and should pay extra but he took advantage of an honest accident. They rent ATVs to inexperienced people....its a risk of business so $1600 felt like a harsh penalty and the owner kinda lost his mind. Beware and please avoid my terrible experience! read more
