We immediately contacted the business while we were at the location, explained the situation, and asked about a refund or reschedule. We were told we could receive a refund minus a 7.5% fee--roughly $30--for "processing." When we kindly asked for a full refund, the staff member not only refused but claimed that because she had to be on the phone and "click a button," we had now cost the business money. She stood firm that no matter the situation, a 100% refund would not be given. It's one thing to have a policy. It's another to treat a customer's good faith mistake with zero flexibility and then blame the cost of customer service on them. We didn't use any equipment, take anyone else's spot, or cancel last minute--we simply misread the date and immediately tried to make it right. $30 is a small amount, but it speaks volumes about how this company handles honest errors. We will absolutely book with another adventure company next time we're in Winter Park--one that values people over rigid policy and doesn't treat a polite refund request like an inconvenience.

When we walked in, our sales associate Michael was friendly, prompt to greet us, and genuinely interested in helping. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for and never made me feel rushed or silly about my beginner questions, even though it was close to closing time. Since it was my first time mountain biking, he walked me through the differences between a full-suspension bike and a hardtail, let me try both, and helped me find the best fit. I ended up on a small women's hardtail, which fit me perfectly from their selection and was a much more beginner-friendly option. It was obvious that Michael wasn't just trying to rent me a bike--he was invested in making sure I had the right bike so my first mountain biking experience would be a great one. That level of customer service really stood out. Thank you, Michael! We're locals, and this experience definitely earned our future business. We rode that day with a family member visiting from Oregon who is an avid mountain biker. She had rented a bike in Vail, and after comparing both the bikes and the prices, she said she wished she had rented from Pioneer Sports instead. 10/10 service and experience. I made my reservation online and paid for the equipment in advance. They have a variety of equipment options, I chose the performance ski package, but wasn't quite sure of the difference between packages other than price. The store was located in a strip mall and upon entering looked like a typical sporting goods store. When you make your way to the back of the store they have all the ski equipment. I was asked if I had a reservation which I provided my email. First, you walk up the steps on a platform where an employee measured my foot to determine ski boot size. When I tried the ski boots on, they were small so they gave me a larger size for comfort. Next step is to wait in line to pick up your skis and poles. The employee at the counter calls you in the order of boot measurement. This process was a bit time consuming and took approx an hour before it was my turn. They input information into a system and ask you some questions about how you ski, fast, experienced, beginner, etc and help you pick out the correct ski brand and length. My boots were very dirty and well used, but they did the job. The employee makes some adjustment to the skis to make sure your boots fit. The XX skis that I received performed well and I did not have any issues. Check in if the equipment was much more efficient and they just scanned a barcode on the equipment when we returned it and we left it in a pile and were good to go. Overall, I think you get what you pay for and this store offers functional ski equipment at a reasonable price. I do wish the process of getting the equipment had been a bit more efficient. The employees were very friendly and helped to make this equipment rental experience go smoothly.

It was $78/person and we had the bikes for 4 hours for the 13-mile ride down. We thought it would start out cold since it was high elevation, but a light jacket was sufficient on what would end up to be a 70 degree day. The staff was very friendly and gave great instructions. We felt safe and the ride was absolutely stunning! We saw the most beautiful scenery and even ran into a herd of mountain goats (I think that's what they were). We stopped in Copper Village for a coffee and then found lunch in Frisco. A fantastic way to spend a morning!

I'd highly recommend coming on a weekday or off peak time when you can get more slides down. I can't even imagine what it'd have been like on a peak time weekend. It takes awhile to wait in line to go down and going back up the conveyor (that you can't move or walk on, you just stand and let it go at its own speed). Really fun time and not too death defying!!
