This was our first time rafting and let me tell you it was wonderful. I was hesitant at first but our guide Hannah alleviated any preconceived feelings I had. At no time did I feel worried. Even my 10 yr old daughter didn't feel scared. We went on a beginner level of the River which had class 2 rapids which is a great way to start river rafting. Also, the other guides, Travis and Hailey I think, with their own crews did an excellent job of transporting and helping other members if they got stuck. I utilized Geo Tours 15AUG21. I am a first time white water rafter and unintentionally went rafting towards the end of the season. However, I still had a phenomenal time! My tour guide's name was Jake who was pleasant and knowledgeable about both the rapids and the path we went through to get through them. Geo Tours also has someone take pictures of you and your fellow rafters at different points during the tour which can be bought from a USB drive. The price point for the trip especially given how long you are on the raft is insanely affordable. I can't recommend this tour enough, and will make it a mission to go whenever I'm in town. read more

This is the go-to rafting place in Colorado. The owner Bruce was so cool and laid back. Everything was very organized and upfront, no surprises. We arrived, everything ready to go. Wetsuits were included, and we had a great time chatting with the guides before, during, and after the trip. The rafting itself was a great experience. Only $40 a person for 2 hours of rafting, including travel to and from drop point. Our hero was Kelly, the rafting guide. He had a great, happy spirit about him, and was a blast. We hit some rough water, and the raft began to fill up with water. Then we hit a big rock, and the raft started to tip. Kelly stayed in control, told us what to do, and we came out of it relatively dry with a kick ass story to tell. I only had $20 to tip him, but her deserved more. My brother and I did the afternoon trip today and I seriously cannot WAIT to do it again! I'm not gonna lie I was a bit anxious about it but after the amazing instructions from Kai, our guide, I was ready to go. The weather was perfect so no need for a wetsuit. Being from TX the water actually felt refreshing! We did the level 3 trip and enjoyed every minute. It's like a hour long roller coaster ride but you get wet! My sons (9 & 14) and I had an AWESOME time on our raft tour. It was a great experience from making our reservations until we left the parking lot after the trip. They have an awesome staff who were extremely professional, very safety-conscious, and great at what they do! Our guide, Julian was amazing. Not only did he give a solid instructional session, but he was very knowledgeable on the history and gave a great tour....and he kept it fun the whole time too. I read TB's review of Geo Tours and decided to make a reservation for 2 with them for July 5th. I made my reservation online and had to pay a deposit of 1/2 the total, so $47. In other establishments, you give them a credit card number to "hold" the reservation, and they charge your card the day of. But Geo Tours charged me the $47 deposit up front. Fine. They send me the confirmation, receipt, and liability paperwork. All is cool til i start reading the fine print. They are located in Morrison, so..."due to high gasoline prices Geo Tours may be charging a gasoline surcharge when providing transportation." And you have to rent the wetsuit and booties for an extra $5. I am frugal, so I start looking at other whitewater rafting companies in Clear Creek and I found a better deal with Mile-Hi Rafting. I e-mail Bruce Becker of Geo Tours to cancel my reservations and ask for a credit of my deposit. I know that in the papaerwork, it states "credit cards refunds are subject to applicable fees." Fine. But I am told that "credit card fees and handling will amount to $10 so I will credit $37 to your VISA card." What the f**k! I cancelled my reservation 24 days in advance and I still get charged $10? Credit Card fees and handling? You and I know that it only takes a moment to credit a card. Just as fast as it took them to charge my VISA!!!! I do not suggest Geo Tours to anyone. They are shady with all their fine print! read more

So this was from a July 2016 ago but has been sitting in my "draft" reviews for some time. Assuming they haven't changed ownership, then my review still stands. I wish I could give 2 reviews. One for the great staff of guides and one for the guy in the front office who is apparently the owner. But at the end of the day, next time I go rafting or take a group whitewater rafting I will go with a different company based solely on the owners behavior and business practices. I booked a group of 6 of us about a month in advance. I was quoted $42.75 a person so I booked and paid a deposit and received an email confirmation stating as such (which is 50% that they do not just hold, but actually withdraw immediately, which is fine) clearly stating the 50% deposit paid, the cost per person and the remaining balance. This was a trip for my mother's birthday and in the front office my mom expressed concern to the owner about rafting because of extreme winds and some rain on the highway on the way up there and somehow they ended up in an argument about cars. Like this guy seemed like he was this way all the time or having a horrible day. He was very grumpy and assholish, not sure if he was trying to be funny but it immediately changed the mood of all of us in our group. Then he told me they messed up the deposit and the price and that his office staff should have charged us $45 a person. I paid $128 (50% of six people) for deposit, the remaining amount should have been an additional $128. Two of our group wanted to pay for themselves (at $45 a person) so he told me my remaining balance was $62. I showed him the email confirmation stating $42.75 a person and he refused to honor the price. Clearly they raised the prices as this price was also stated on their website, but instead, he blamed it on his office staff. Shady business practices. The additional $62 actually makes it $47.50 a person. So he actually raised the price further than the $45 posted and written on the wall. Clearly, I should have read the fine print as they do have "prices subject to change" - apparently AFTER you've booked and paid a deposit which I've never heard of. I understand this is only a few dollars per person, but its really a matter of principle. The guides were awesome, and we tipped as such. read more

On a visit to see my friend in Highlands Ranch, CO, she suggested we try rafting. I'm so glad we did. It was so much fun...although I did get a little nervous when carrying the rafts to the water, the current was moving fast. Our guides were knowledgeable and gave a good overview on how not to drown in case we fell overboard, how to paddle correctly and how to stay balanced. Even though the guides were young, college aged guys, I was impressed with their professionalism and super helpful attitudes. As it was our first time rafting we opted for the 1/2 day trip. Next time we'll do the full day. Also, the water was cold. We went on July 3, outside, the temperature was 85 degrees--the water was 44. We didn't wear wetsuits...but I do wish I wore long sleeves. They give you all the info & more than you need beforehand, and make all the safety details and explanations fun and not nerve wracking. The entire trip was fantastic while rafting, it was very well organized. I would have given a 5 star review, but the manager or head of taking payment, the obese man at the front, was extremely disrespectful. Me and my group were contemplating buying the completely overpriced digital photos that were taken on the trip because we enjoyed our tour guide so much. But after being told that we needed to move our car in order for me to use the restroom because the car was "too fucking loud" while cooling down with AC for 5 minutes ruined any chance of that happening. Would reccomend finding a different location unless you enjoy dealing with disrespectful front desk managers. Loved the guides, but if the head of business acts this way, I will never return again to give money to someone I find deplorable. read more

If you're looking for a fun, enjoyable trip on clear creek, Geo is the place. The staff is relaxed , laid back, and found a way to put nervous first timers at ease. Showed up and signed release forms, grabbed gear and watched a safety video. Checked our gear before piling into vans and heading out. Got an impromptu guided tour on the way up. Arrived at the our "eddy in" spot, paired up and then the guides gave a detailed orientation, followed by rechecks of our gear. We were given a mock safety instruction for on the water. Let me make it clear, the staff jokes around but safety is paramount for them. Jim was our guide and he put us at ease immediately. They explained water was high and faster from snow melt before we left which equivocated to Class III conditions. We signed up for beginner and ended up with intermediate/expert( go figure) We shoved off and had the best time our of lives!! We launched airborne a few times, defiantly got soaked. By the way, the water is cold. By the time we got to twister, which was the term used for different whitewater parts of the river by the guides we were hooked and wanted more. It's amazing and we would recommend it to anyone looking to have a great time. Hats off to Geo, their operation and their staff!! read more

We definitely want to come back! We loved the whole crew and especially the guide we got for our raft, Dan. He told us jokes along the way! We did the clear water trip, which was definitely easy enough for beginners. We went in the middle of July and there was starting to be not enough water, so I recommend going in May or June if possible (or on a year with lots of water). That being said, we got to practice more technical skills because the water was lower and this made for a great training trip for our first time rafting, which I loved. We normally don't buy photo packages, but these were so good we definitely got them! read more

I have been on a few white water rafting trips in the past. Some good and some not so much. Geo tours was one of the better run operations. It was easy to book a tour over the phone. When we arrived at 8 am we quickly signed release forms, watched and orientation video and put on boots from the tour (I would def recommend bringing your own shoes - the boots were uncomfortable on the trip back as they were filled with water- ugh) We boarded vans and drove to Clear Creek. We got more orientation there and were divided into our respective groups with young (college aged) guides. They were energetic and friendly - the most experienced guide Morgan had been working there 3 summers. Throughout the trip down the Creek, they were very professional and knowledgable. The river was too shallow for parts of the trip and our raft kept getting stuck. Morgan indicated that water level was seasonal and it was the last week they would be traveling this river. I felt like maybe it was a week too late. When we got back to the boat house, we could use dressing rooms to change - they were a little less private than I would have liked (one of the curtains wouldn't close completely and my fiend had to hold it shut for me. One of the nicer things was a photographer followed the tour and took lots of pictures that we purchased at the end (the dvd disc was a bit expensive I thought at $45). It was done very quickly by one of the young guides. Overall, GeoTours did a good job. I would have preferred a better river to navigate but I understand many factors play into that. read more

We just did an overnight camping and rafting trip through Geotours and were nothing short of impressed. We were on a bachelor party with 13 guys and the trip was great from start to finish. Planning: I planned the trip with Bruce over the phone and through email. He was very accommodating. He provided all the transportation in his busses and never seemed concerned about money, only about giving us the best trip possible. He was great helping plan all the rentals as well. Rafting: we went on the Arizona river and it was great. We went during the late summer which is not prime season but still saw a lot of great rapids. We all got soaked but in addition there were plenty of opportunities to go swimming and jump off rock walls. Camping: This was top notch!! The guides were amazing. We set up camp. The guides were always there to help. Geotours provided a steak dinner with potato and salad. We didn't have to lift a finger. They let us work on the fire and drink our beer. They were great guys to have around. The rental tents and sleeping bags were all clean and great quality. The next morning we woke up not only to some snoring but also the smell of sausage, eggs and home fries!! Somehow they managed to pack a whole grocery store isle. It was such great service and a great experience. In conclusion this was a prefect trip with perfect guides and with great organization and great rafting and a wonderful camping experience. I would recommend Geotours to everybody. read more

Had a group scheduled and got there with 38 boys and parents and they messed up the reservation. So they did not have anything there for us. Had called several times to confirm in advance. So it was a major disappointment to get there and not have it ready. They did call and get us on with another company so that is the only reason they got the extra stars. The trip itself down the river was fun and our guide was great with an enjoyable personality. However, be aware that when they say a "half day" trip, it's really only about 90 mins on the water, and a lot of that is stopping and waiting for all boats to gather back up. We stopped about 4 times for a total of over 20 mins. Still, it was a good trip for $50/per. The real grinder came when the owner told us we couldn't take an action cam because of safety issues (although there were other rafting companies that allowed it). So we were forced to purchase their photographer's pictures. He took our picture when we first entered the water and a couple more times along the route. When we got back and I went to review the pictures, I was told that the photographer accidentally deleted all the pictures-"sorry about that" was what I got. So they wouldn't let me bring a camera and provided no pictures because of their hippy photographer's incompetence. Think hard before signing on with these guys. read more
