I just came in here briefly to try on a few pairs of ski boots and unfortunately the actual boot section was fully booked for fittings. The gal at the registers was amazing and was able to find the two pairs I wanted to try on. She was able to bring them to me and just let me try them at the couches they had in the corner of the store on my own. Very nice store inside and looks amazing inside! All the staff I interacted with were very nice and very knowledgeable. They have tons of options for everything and every section they have is well stocked. Met with Shane I believe who fit me for ski boots. Shane was very knowledgable, listened to my ski style/ability, etc. and came up with some great options. Ultimately, the boot he he most recommended wasn't in stock relative to my foot size, but nonetheless, I would go back to Evo in Denver for any ski related matter due to the expertise of the staff, professionalism and service. Now of course get your stuff back asap but yeah that pretty amazing. Returns is what we did. Everything was Christmas gifts so not used. I had the opportunity to browse while the returns were in process. The returns went really easily and the loveley behind the counter made sure some points were processed correctly since they were used for purchase on some of the itens returned. They sell it and they rent it. I am not a ski or snowboard person but they have everything I would need if I suddenly woke up one morning and wanted to throw myself down the side of a mountain. This review is specific to their snowboard boot fitting services. My husband and I both had appointments and a great experience. The appointment was really easy to make and had a lot of time options. We had two different staff help us and they were both incredibly knowledgeable about their boot options as well as what would be best for us considering our foot needs and board/binding combo - basically all you can ask for with a boot fitting service. They offer 3 different tiers of boot services: free, $75 w insole + socks + heat molding, and a fancier $150 option I don't know the details of. I got the $75 package and it's a great deal considering insoles themselves are $50-$75 and the socks were $35. We haven't experienced the ski boot fitting, but I can only imagine it's as thorough and helpful as our experience. After the service, there's lots to shop around for too. Around this time of the year (mid-Feb), the sales are starting to roll in, so a lot of goods were discounted. The staff are all friendly and chill, an easy place to spend an hour or 2 and walk away with great gear. read more

Retail: The physical store has decent selection but the online selection is extensive. Free shipping over a certain dollar amount. Member Program: Earn reward points from purchased that can be redeemed for $10 discount on an item for future purchase. Ski Service: I bought skis and bindings from their website and took them into the store to get bindings mounted (need my ski boot). Because I bought from them, mounting fee reduced from $60 to $35. Waxing is complimentary with mounting service. I also had an old pair of skis I wanted to replace the bindings on them. It's Nov and shop says it may take 3-4 days but I needed them sooner. So I paid extra for rush service. They promised them in 36 hrs, they were ready in less than 24 hrs. Love it!!! read more

I will say that I bought some Black Crow skis here a few years ago and it was an amazing experience. They have a great selection and historically have been really helpful. These were the primary reasons I came here for new ski boots. This time, I came in to try and likely buy new ski boots. It was a Wednesday around 1:15pm. TLDR; I was unsuccessful. I had to find someone to guide me to the ski section - it moved since I was here last. I was standing by the boots for 10 minutes - I already have done research and knew the 3 boots I wished to try. I found someone to ask again. I was told to see the concierge who then told me it would be a 3 hour wait to get a boot fitter. I asked if I could try the boots without a boot fitter. He told me "If you're going to spend $700 on boots, you should use a custom boot fitter." Then he told me if I wanted to try 2 different boots, then I could go down to the cashier and ask for those from them. However, if I wanted to try 3 or more then I had to wait to try with a custom boot fitter. I walked out having a negative experience. I completely understand the benefit of a custom boot fitter. And I recognize the value in that. That said, I am an experience skier and I wish there was a less intensive option to just try the boots. This visit left me feeling annoyed, a stark contrast to my previous experiences. read more

Update: I was able to speak with Frank the service supervisor at the Denver location. He was very helpful and refunded me my $70 as well as exchanged my skies and is covering the cost to remount the new ones. I have been a loyal customer to Evo for a long time for this reason. Before this I have never had a bad encounter with Evo. They have a great customer service team. Mistakes happen but I'm very happy Evo was able to get everything fixed for me. I bought skies, bindings and had them mounted at Evo Denver two seasons ago. My binding was ripped out of my ski just before the two year mark of having them. I took my skies to my local shop in Winter Park, CO. They told me that whoever did the original mounting, messed it up and mounted it twice. They were able to determine this because the holes were twice as large as they should be. I reached out to Evo's customer service team and they said there was nothing that they could do for me and that I have to bring them to Evo Denver to get them looked at. So I took a 3 hour round trip to drop them off. I didn't hear back from the store, I called them after 5 days to ask for an update and they said they forgot to process that they were finished. I asked if they were able to keep them center mounted and they told me they did and everything was great. My girlfriend went to pick them up the next day for me, the worker told her that "the core is compromised from being mounted too many times". This is what I stated to Evo in the first place, my ski was only mounted one time, with evo, and they are the ones who messed up the mounting. They provided a receipt that said "Failed safety test, core likely compromised. Ride at own risk". On top of this they charged me $70 for a ski I will never be able to ski again. read more

Very impressed with evo Denver! There's street parking in front of the retail store and the rental store, in addition to a parking lot behind the store so despite being in downtown Denver, getting there wasn't too bad. Some friends and I visited from out of town and had reserved bikes in advance. The staff immediately greeted us, pulled up our reservation, and got our bikes in perfect order for us. They gave us wonderful recommendations on where to go and were very friendly. Again, we were pleased with our experience when we returned the bikes. A staff member greeted us outside and helped us bring all the rental gear back inside. The rented bikes were in wonderful condition and my good experience convinced me to buy a bike directly from them! Since we had rented from them, they deducted a portion of the rental charges from my bike purchase. Overall, very pleased with my experience here and will definitely rent from them again when I visit! read more

Just moved to Colorado a few months ago from Southern California and was looking for a top tier ski shop and Evo is. I walked in and just knew this was the place to buy my boots and have them fitted. I skied through my 20's, 30's, and early 40's, but I haven't skied for over 25 years due to a heart attack. Going from zero to 8,000 feet in a day and skiing was too much for my heart. Now that I live at 6,000 feet, I'm acclimated and am looking forward to skiing again. I didn't make an appointment, my mistake, I was just going to check them out. They were very busy. Decided to wait the 2.5 hrs for a fitting, it was worth the wait. While I was waiting I could hear the staff explaining to the other customers the processes and procedures of how the boot fitting process worked. All the staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and patient. When it came to my turn, Brad helped me. Brad has a very high level of expertise. He was able to explain the "why" of what he was doing. Not an easy thing to do. In no time I had new fitted boots, a custom orthotic footbed, and my feet feel wonderful. I highly recommend Evo for all your skiing needs. I'll be renting skis through their demo program until I determine what type of skis will work for me now that I'm 70. I used to race down hills, groomed and un-groomed, in the trees, and jump turns through moguls. Now I think I'll cruise, well... we'll see once I get back on the slopes. read more

I tried to get tools to provide my own service and the service member would not assist in my questioning. Smaller than the big guys with good customer service. Note - You do have to make an appointment for working with someone buying skis and boot fitting. I did not have an appointment on a Sunday and knew I was taking a risk, but I needed new boots fast for skiing this weekend. The wait was long, but glad I got in and I didn't make an appointment (they were booked out until the end of December). I worked with Trevor and he was great! He was knowledgable about books and made sure I got boots that worked with my skiing ability and were comfortable, he even got me super comfy boots that were a sweet deal from last season. Make your appointments and you will have an easier time, but again it was worth it for me to go in early without one to get in before closing. They have a system where you can go for a drink or dinner in the neighborhood while you wait and they will call you back. read more

We went to Evo on a weekday after work to look for some snowboarding shoes. Being new to the area, the store was highly recommended by a friend. We walked through the store before landing at the snowboarding shoes and browsed a bit. We did notice a store clerk assisting customers with fittings but did not want to bother her. After 15 minutes or so of browsing on our own, she came up to me and rudely stated - "SO. are you going to buy that?" I explained that we were looking around and were interested in purchasing. She then rudely told me off, indicating that she is assisting a customer with a fitting so I needed to leave the area and should have gone to the front to make an appointment to be fitted, but seeing that they close in 5 minutes (it was 5pm at that point) that I would not be assisted and trailed off from there, hinting that I probably should just leave. Needless to say, we were extremely shocked at how rudely we were treated. I've worked in customer service and it is tough, but never a reason to be rude to others. It was our first time at the store and we did not see any signs indicating we needed to check in or anything. We even doubled back to the entrance to verify. How were we supposed to know this was procedure? Needless to say, this is our last time at the store and we will take our business somewhere else. read more

It's time to invest in some new ski gear and I wasn't sure about were to turn. I learned about evo through Yelp and from there, ordered some ski pants online. I decided to make a return at the store to check out more of their selection and with one foot through the door, I was hooked! Fast forward a couple of weeks and I have brand new boots and bindings from here and will most likely buy new skis in the near future. What set evo apart for me is the service. I was nervous to go in for a boot fitting because boots are expensive and I wanted to trust that I wasn't getting upsold for no reason. I really trusted the person who helped me out. He presented a few different options and took time to make sure we found the best one for me. As mentioned, I ended up needing new bindings too and had a great experience with the service shop, as well. How can so many nice people work in one place?! I made an appointment online for a boot fitting and felt very safe in terms of COVID throughout my time in the store. They have a stanchion outside and you have to be let in one at a time which ensures the store isn't too crowded. Parking can be found in the alley behind the store or via metered street parking nearby. There are different entrances for different parts of the store. Overall, I'd happily drive the 20 or so minutes to this store, rather than settle for the Epic closer to my house. Thank you, evo! read more

I appreciate having places like evo to actually shop in, especially for not inexpensive sports equipment items like skis and bikes. The experts seem to know their stuff and helped me into some new gear without hustling me for extra fluff. I wish the hostess was more proactive instead of passively waiting in the corner. (I didn't care for waiting 15 minutes before realizing there was a formal wait list. I also am not a fan of their parking "lot" (a well hidden nook tucked behind 4 bldgs). Evo overall has a great website and some very competitive prices on many outdoor products. However I wouldn't recommend for more bespoke service such as ski boot fitting where I had a major issue with them. When I went in for ski boot fitting I definitely wasn't super knowledgable about what I was looking for. And I have a wide foot. So what ended up happening was the ski boot fitter just sold me 1 size up from what I should have been. I only confirmed this when I went to get the boots worked on and the guy at another shop in Denver showed me exactly what size I was (the size down). Now this sets up a crummy situation where I spent $300+ on the wrong sized boots. And there's only so much that can be done to improve ski fit unfortunately. So I may have lost $300 and gotten some sore feet with all this. read more
