I have been to other Emmy's ,but not this location, so while in the area decided to give it a try. On a Tuesday evening, it was surprisingly empty. We were immediately greeted and seated. We started with the brussel sprout salad. It is large enough and for two, we were unable to finish it. I generally do not like brussel sprouts, but this is one of my favorite salads. It is shredded brusselsprouts with thick pieces of bacon and bits of blue cheese, topped with walnuts and dressing. The brussel sprouts are so thinly sliced, similar to cole slaw. For pizza we ordered the Vodka with mozzarella. I am always surprised when the pizza comes out with burnt crust, but it is their signature crispy edges. The vodka sauce was good, but the basil was awkwardly placed on top. The pizza was a bit greasy and heavy. This was not one of my favorite experiences and compared to other locations it lacked in service and quality. I will not return to this location. read more

Have been here a few times and honestly think the staff is great, the name and them the only thing really holding this place together. Like most sit down pizza places in the neighborhood if you come for an earlier dinner the place is packed with families with young kids (which is perfectly in their right) and the staff deal with that really well. The pizza is way overpriced and I've had it when it's pretty decent but it's mostly meh. I like the sauce but the cheese has a cheap consistency to it. read more

This is my first experience with Detroit style pizza and i am SOLD! We had a Caesar salad and a regular square with pepperoni. I usually am not a fan of Caesar salad but this one was perfect (not gloppy) The whole staff was friendly and accommodating. Our waiter Shay was very attentive and friendly. Whoever prepared my salad for delivery today, I hope you read this review. I got a brown rotten salad, no anchovies, no cheese, just rotten leaves and dressing. The salad I received looks nothing like what's posted on DoorDash, I threw it straight in the trash. You literally served me garbage in a box. I added fried chicken to my vodka pizza and it was black, tasteless and dry. I gave two stars on this review because the colony pizza was good even though the pepperoni wasn't baked into the pizza, it was sprinkled on top. It was good nonetheless but everything else was disappointing and it shows that there's no quality control. I honestly laughed out loud when the order came; I paid $27 for a 3 slice personal pizza.... I... can't even fathom how any NYC pizza place could get away with this, but it does say "8x10" online so I guess that's on me for not checking. I never write reviews, but I was honestly so dumbfounded I didn't know where else to place my confusion. We also got empty mozz sticks? For $17.50? Their Caesar salad dressing is also extremely fishy, when I called the restaurant they said "some people love it, others hate it." So maybe that's just a preference thing? Detroit style is my favorite! I was excited to try this having just moved to the neighborhood. I saw hot honey with pepperoni which reminded me of The Big Von from Square Pie Guys in the Bay Area (which is my fav!). The bottom of the crust was weak and falling apart (the top was perfectly crispy though and had the Detroit pizza signature crunch). The red sauce was just too sweet. The whole thing just tasted sweet and a little spicy. I want to taste the sharpness of the tomato. I want to taste the salty cheese and pepperoni with an extra kick from the jalapeños and a hint of sweetness from the honey. The server was nice (the extra star) but I probably won't be back. I just didn't enjoy it at all. If I'm ordering pepperoni pizza, I don't want it to taste like dessert. read more

Our experience at Emmy Squared Pizza, a childhood friend and I was stellar. We both enjoyed our dining experience. We chose the wings, Caesar salad, and MVP pizza along with two glasses of Reisling. The wings which were jumbo wings covered with sriracha crystal glaze, peanuts , and cilantro with ranch dress were okay. Although, they were a little flavorful outside, the inside lacked in flavor. The Caesar salad was the star of this dining experience. It was served with anchovy filets but we asked our server Ivan to remove them. Salad was so delicious. The MVP sicilian pizza was delicious as well. It is made with house made vodka sauce, red sauce, parsley pesto, and a sesame seed crust. It was simply amazing. Went in here on a rainy Saturday afternoon and had the best experience! Our server Ivan made our day a memorable one that will get us back here when the weather is a bit nicer, and they have the garage windows down. Ivan was super attentive, kind, and treated us with with fantastic hospitality. To start we had the wings and initially were going to get the Sriracha Crystal sauce, but we mentioned how we like to try lots of choices when we go out, so Ivan recommended we do half that and half pineapple chili and loved it! It gave us spicy for one and sweet for the other, so it was a nice balance. We also tried the mozzarella sticks and enjoyed those. The cheese was tasty and I think possibly a blend of different cheeses, but definitely glad we got the wings. It was missing that classic mozzarella stick cheese pull you want when you order! We had a wow moment from Ivan when we mentioned we were on a date night, which we haven't been able to do in a while, and he came back over a couple minutes later and offered some Prosecco to celebrate! It was a fantastic touch that made us feel listened to and relaxed made our experience extra special. For entrees I got the most delicious burger I've ever had in my life. Le Big Matt Burger is something I'll be dreaming about all week. I love pretzel buns, so that was what sold me initially, but the burger itself was juicy, two beef patties, topped with white American cheese, a little bit of lettuce, sweet pickles, and their glorious Sammy sauce. I got extra to dunk in and was in burger heaven. It was served with lightly seasoned waffle fries, which are my favorite cut and relatively hard to find from my experience. My partner got their spicy chicken sandwich, which were two breaded chicken patties (you can substitute grilled chicken), topped with radish, sweet pickles, a little bit of lettuce, and what I think tasted like a delicious Asian style sauce, possibly Gochujang like the wings from another Brooklyn location? Not sure what exactly it was, but it was also absolutely delicious. We're all about sauces, and Emmy Squared does it right. We finished with their warm triple chocolate brownie skillet with vanilla ice cream, and had a hard time not finishing it, because we were so full. It was decadent, rich, and who doesn't love a hot/cold, chocolate/vanilla combo! Overall, we had a wonderful date and Ivan went above and beyond with his kind demeanor, attentiveness, recommendations, and kind personality. Came here post race on prospect park. It was cool sitting in the outside area. The service was ok. Wait staff wasn't all warm & fuzzy. They were kind of short with us when we asked questions. The pizza itself was actually good. I'm glad I asked how it was served because we had no clue. Once we knew we ordered individual pies assuming it wasn't shareable. Once they arrived we realized they were too big for a individuals and took the remainder home. The pie itself has six generous slices. For appetizers we had the crispy chicken crunchers. Hooray! We love everything Emily - original Emily, Emmy Squared and even their amazing cookbook. We were super excited when we saw that an outpost would be opening in Park Slope, and we decided to bring some visiting family to the restaurant for our first visit. And boy, did Emmy Squared deliver. The cheesy garlic breadsticks were a huge hit with our kids while we waited for the rest of the table to arrive, as were the cheesy pimento fries. Each pizza was the perfect masterpiece version of itself: love the big ang, the big al and the mushroom version in particular. Service was welcoming and understanding of our late guests. The kitchen timing was a little off as our final pizza came out a solid 30 minutes after the first (with apologies), but I'm sure that will get worked out over time. Three cheers for Emmy Squared! Had dinner at Emmy Squared Pizza on Tuesday night. An interesting style of pizza, which won't be for everyone, but I thought the texture and flavor combinations were very solid. Quality: Emmy Squared Pizza falls somewhere between deep dish and Detroit style. It has a very fluffy dough at the center, almost underdone, with crispy edges. We ordered a Deluxe Pizza, which had red sauce, mozzarella cheese, sausage, peppers, and mushrooms. I wasn't crazy about the mushrooms used, but the rest of the toppings were great. We also ordered the Cheesy Garlic Sticks, which have this wonderful pesto across them. Both are crowd pleasers, and it makes sense why the location is so popular with families. Quantity: Despite seeming smaller, the heavy slices fill you up quickly. Value: $13 for Cheesy Garlic Sticks. $22 for the Deluxe Pizza. Ambiance: Emmy Squared Pizza opened a new location in Park Slope. It is an interesting space, and they appear to still be making it their own. The dining room has two sections, the first with large glass walls that seems a bit like a greenhouse, then a more standard bar room seating. Two televisions hang over the actual bar, with an assortment of seats filling the rest of this room. Classic rock played in the background during our meal. Crowd: A small crowd on Tuesday evening, lots of children. Service: The food takes a bit, so don't expect to be in and out. Parking: Limited parking in a residential area. read more

Felt like a prank. We've been to other locations before and all was good, but the quality of the food here was reminiscent of a bad Dominos. Everything was lukewarm at best, and the portions of the salads and cucumber appetizer was unbelievably poor. Avoid this location at all costs. The vibe is just miserable. Food comes veeeeery slowly. Mistakes are made left and right; They fed me and left my kids waiting another 30 minutes for their meals. A burger came out late but also cold(?) I ordered whit wine and got red. Yet the prices are high. ($28 for that burger) Something's gotta give here. Especially if you're gonna charge at the high end you need a commensurate level of service. But even for middle of the road, the owners should be embarrassed at how bad the service is here. As is, it feels like a place that's destined to fizzle out fairly quickly, coming from someone who's seen lots of places come and go in Park Slope. The burger was not bad but it came out so late that we had already completely finished the pizza and waited a while before the burger came around. We had to ask for water refills every time. Two guys next to us made an order at the bar and left before their order came out because everything took so long.
