Disclaimer: I came here to pick up a too good to go (TGTG) order. Came here near closing time for pickup, and the owners were really friendly. I hung around while I waited for the designated time, and *did* notice the unnecessary volume of their music, which other reviewers had noted (this might make it difficult to dine in, but theres outside seating at this location). The TGTG bag was 7.99$, which is on the pricier side when it comes to pizza joints. The owners hooked me up with 4 slices (+1 more than they usually do). There was a good variety of slices in the bag, and I ate two on my walk home. My first impression was that the slices had really good sauce -- on the sweetier side though, just a heads up. The slices were thin-crust NYC style, which I love, and the edge crust was really small, which I appreciated. However, the slice itself seemed a bit stiff like cardboard, which was a bit strange. The owner also told me that if I wanted an alternative to TGTG, I could do a, "buy 2 slices, get 1 free of your choice" deal towards closing, but at their standard prices ($5-8/slice), I don't know that it's worth it. I think Swiss Slice is a solid place to get pizza, but not sure if it's worth the price, even if it's a TGTG pickup. I'll have to return and try again when it's fresh. read more

I was visiting NY and wanted to try NY pizza. My cousin ordered a large pizza with sausage, pepperoni, onions, olives and garlic honey. It was absolutely delicious. Plus I had never seen a large pizza so huge. The person who took the order was very nice but he was in a hurry because it was close to closing time and he had a awful lot of deliveries. It was my first time here since it's close by and I've always wanted to try their pizza. They have a nice variety, which I really liked. I'll be honest, it is a bit pricey for the slices of pizza, but the owner explained that it's because of the quality ingredients they use. He was also kind enough to give me a free soda with my order, which I appreciated. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and my favorite, the margherita pizza, and both were delicious. Swiss Slice popped up less than a year ago and they have decent pizza. My biggest issue is their sauce & crust. I wish the sauce was 10 year with a fuller taste. The crust is incredibly crispy!! I'm partial to a more doughy crust. Compared to the other pizza in the neighborhood this is establishment is expensive. However, it's also some of the best pizza in the neighborhood. One of the owners of Ciao Bella, a beloved coffee shop around the corner from this new pizzeria takes a step towards his expansion into the neighborhood with the opening of The Swiss Slice. This stretch of Nostrand Ave needed a good slice joint and this place is filling that void with fresh pies and calzones, with raclette cheese and other Swiss menu items on the horizon. The name comes from the story of the co-owners, who met growing up in Switzerland. What started as a joke project between the two business partners became a real life business, but only after hosting what was basically an audition for seasoned pizza professionals who knew their way around a pizza oven. This process has proven fruitful because the slices are light, fresh, and have me inhaling a slice in moments. The crust is on the thinner side, and so tasty that none was left behind on my plate. The cheese and sauce taste as fresh as the owners so carefully intended them to be. The space is quite large and filled with about a dozen tables, so you can sit and enjoy your pies or take your slice on a walk like a real New Yorker. You can also admire the work of the multi-hyphenate owner, who painted the mural on the wall and is also the drummer in an awesome band. I'm looking forward to all the new menu items they have planned for the pizzeria, and if the margherita and plain that I had was any indication, everything coming out of their kitchen will be fantastic. read more

Recently came here for the 2nd time (1st being at a Yelp Elite event back in December 2021) and had a good time. There was no wait to order a Margherita slice (my go-to) along with 7 wings (a mix of Buffalo and BBQ). The food was heated to perfection and I was able to dine in. One thing that I did notice was that I wasn't asked to present my ID and proof of vaccination. It didn't make me uncomfortable, I just figured it was required to dine in anywhere in the city. Once my family was in the mood for pizza and we didn't want to go out, we had ordered delivery from Swiss slice (through UberEats). When it arrived, we were happy with how gooey and melty the cheese was. (There is a nearby pizza place which has a place in our hearts but the cheese is relatively dry). So I decided to do in person next time I was in the area. The location is very close to two buses (b44 and b12) and the Winthrop train station on the 2/5 line. Sunday-Thursday it is open until 10 pm, Friday and Saturday it is open until 11 pm. I came around 9:30 pm on a Thursday. In the store they only had pizza like bbq chicken and pepperoni plus their non pizza options such as chicken wings (with the option to add flavors like Buffalo), mozzarella sticks and beef patties. More items are available earlier in the day (ex: garlic knots) but compared to other local pizza places it focuses on only a few appetizer options. One thing that might turn some people off is the price (3.95 pretax for pepperoni). Especially if you are used to dollar slices and similar. But I would argue that the quality is better enough to maybe justify having higher prices. Your mileage may vary. The decor was cute plus they had seats, Standing tables to eat your food in store. Also, since they were closing soon, they were nice enough to give me an extra slice. A great treat after a long day. read more

This is one of my favorite pizza shops in this neighborhood. It's something about the way a regular NY slice tastes that just melts my heart (LOL). It's not really fancy or overly-complicated in flavor but it's a staple in one's neighborhood and I am giving Swiss Slice the honor of holding that title for me. Needed a quick bite and small pause for the day and I just happen to past it by. As a newbie to the area, it caught my eye with it's big bright sign. It advertised good pizza and it did not disappoint. The selection of pies on display were interesting. I ordered the Hawaiian Slice (well cuz, it's a know fact pineapple does go well on pizza!) and right after the first bite before I even paid for it, I asked that another be thrown in the oven- yeah it was that good. The cashier chuckled with a "we got another satisfied costumer" look on his face. He was right, so I couldn't refute it. The place was cool and clean with big full front windows so I could people watch as I stuffed my face. The staff was friendly as they engaged with more customers. It was cool to see when the when one worker stepped outside for his break, he was greeted and exchanged more sincere hellos in the 35 mins I was there then I did all day (and I was off work). I couldn't hear a word, but everybody looked happy. When a business and community mix like that it's a double win! Side note: I ordered yet another slice and continued to eat in. I was glad the cashier was still outside so I didn't seem greedy- but the pizza was that good. Great place. Tried a veggie & margherita slice yesterday through delivery, and absolutely loved both. I only live a few blocks away but didn't want to trek in the cold, but the food was still warm when it arrived. The individual slices aren't the cheapest (I think my order ended up being ~$10 before fees/tip), but the slices are really large! The veggie slice is packed with toppings that are cooked but still have a pleasant bit of crisp to them. You also can't go wrong with their margherita slice, which has a good balance of savory with an touch of sweetness. They really cover the pie leaving only like half an inch of the plain crust part. Also the part of the crust underneath all the toppings didn't become soggy, even with the veggie slice. So happy this place opened up, because it was hard to get really good pizza in this immediate area. My new go-to pizza place! read more

This was the best pizza I've eaten in a long long! time. This is New York so good pizza is everywhere but this was incredible. I've been watching the construction for a while and since I'm always looking for new food, I walked in as soon as I saw them open. Didn't even know what they served yet. Turns out I was there on their first day. I got a slice with sausage and my least favorite topping, pepperoni with some garlic knots. I was enchanted from the first bite. Pepperoni to me is just a dried, red chunk of salty chewiness. Sausage on a pizza always tends to be greasy... they put these two together and it was a perfect blend. Obviously High quality meats and cheeses make the difference here. Never have I eaten pepperoni that good. The garlic knots were pillowy soft and left me with garlic breath which tells me that there's garlic both inside and out. Again, perfection! I'm going today and now I know to eat whatever they recommend because it's going to be different than my mouth expects. read more
