The female cashier tried to slightly over charge me for a single, one topping pizza price. Although, she is not a new employee by any means . When I brought it to her attention she told me I was wrong. It was not until another employee walked over and pointed out the price error. Instead of showing good customer service and apologizing or even simply pointing out her mistake. She dryly muttered under her breath the correct price. Customer service is a big part of the overall food and dining experience. Her being an employee that has worked there for a good amount of time should have most definitely be aware of that. read more

Best slice of Pizza in NYC, I have coming to BILLY'S for over ten years. Always order the same thing to the point when I walk in everyone who work there already know what I want; Buffalo slice cut in half, with extra hot sauce and blue cheese. And although throughout the years we have not gotten along, and my previous review have reflected as such. Except for the best worker they have "Isa" he is truly provide the best customer service I ever seen. He is the standard of when business model talks about customer first. Special shout out to him. Decided to stop here on a whim. This is my second time here because hubby craved an eggplant parm hero with mushroom and extra Parmesan cheese. I really enjoyed the slices here and they have great variety ranging from philly cheesesteak pizza to chicken ceaser. It is right next to Medgar Evers College campus so it can be very busy at times. Since today is Sunday, it is pretty quiet but business is good. I was amazed by the bathroom decor. So upscale and roomy. Billy's used to be a favorite local pizza place & then they drastically changed. Billy's want to sell cheap pizza at a high cost. Yes everyone in NY wants to make money but what you sell is horrible pizza. - I've never been to a pizza restaurant where they put the pizza in the fridge & then heat up upon ordering. - Prices increased - They have a delivery & card minimum - Staff is friendly & they are fast but in terms of good pizza. Oh Billy's. I want to love you, I do. Because it's one of the few options in the neighborhood, Billy's doesn't really have any competition. That being said, I usually get the veggie slice, which is piled high with veggies, including eggplant. It's an ok slice. Nothing to text about, it's a lot of food, but the flavor doesn't really pack any punch. I've also had the grandma slice and it was so so. Between the television cranked up too loud and the radio playing nonstop Christmans tunes, it's not the best place to relax and decompress. It's ok if you want to get full of off something. Avoid this place at all costs. Their "recommended" dish is NOT RECOMMENDED. My office ordered a few dishes and mine was the calamari salad. Order turned up without the calamari- just some lettuce and tomatoes and onions. Had to call them back and ask if the salad usually came with calamari. It did but they "forgot" to send it. Had to wait an additional 35 minutes for that to arrive (the original order had already taken 40+ minutes). It smelt and looked disgusting and raw. No seasoning- not even salt and was extremely rubbery. When I called to complain- the guy on the phone said that he's not a fan of it either- and that's how it has always been for 12 years. When asked how's it prepared- he said it's boiled and thank you. He was very dismissive and didn't even offer to cook the darn thing. Conversation over. Ordered through the MyPizza app on a Tuesday night and delivery was speedy--less than 40 minutes and it was at my door. Grew up eating NYC pizza and though this is no DiFara's, still pretty good! I'm writing this review with GREAT disappointment. Before I start- Im posting this review on menupages, yelp, and wherever else I can in hopes that the owner/management reads this. First of all- when made correctly, the food here is pretty good compared to the rest of the neighborhood. It's the only reason they even got a star from me. But their service SUCKS, and they can't get an order right ever- even when I use their mypizza.com ordering site, which is just inexcusable. if the order is typed out, you're staff can't feign they misunderstood me on the phone, so I figure they just can't read. On multiple occasions now my order has arrived half incorrect, missing items, or just totally wrong. Secondly, their delivery is just damningly slow. My order took an hour and a half tonight. ON A MONDAY. I dot live far away either. And when I called to see if everything was ok, the phone girl was just rude. Billy's: if your staff was even remotely competent, and cooks could read an order you'd have kept my business. However, their inability to do their job has helped me decide I no longer wish to waste money bill go out of my way and pick up pizza elsewhere or just order sushi next time. read more

Whoa! Has anyone checked out Billy's latest restaurant inspection Info on nyc.gov (health & mental hygiene category)? Their last inspection was on 3/21/11 and had 48 violation points!!!! Per nyc.gov, "An inspection score of 0-13 is an A, 14-27 points is a B, and 28 or more points is a C." They got 48 points people!! I recommend going to the site and reading the details yourself. I guess I should have read the reviews on yelp as I always do but kids were hungry and this was the closest. First and foremost, read the instructions that your customers ask of you when the order is placed. Second don't do something to try to cover up your mistake and ignorance. Third, do the right thing and make the customer whole. To make a very long story, I ordered a round pizza and asked for it to be cut into square slices something that is quite often done in the pizza industry. When I opened up the box it was obvious that it had been cut into slices and then the directions were read with the customers request and then cut up into every other geometric shape... There were triangles, trapezoids, parallelograms, rhombus's, kids... It was basically hacked to pieces... Literally. Fourth... Don't lie to the customer and state that you don't know how to cut a pizza into squares. IF YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW, THEN YOUR IN THE WRONG BUSINESS... PERIOD. Fifth... If you can't, then you call the customer and let them know that. That is one of the reasons why we give you our number on these ordering apps. Finally... Now I'm not a racist by any stretch of the imagination, but it's true that certain neighborhoods get stuck with a negative connotation. When I say Crown Heights to my parents, (both of them having lived in BKLYN/QNS from the late 50's to the late 80's) they shudder. So it came as somewhat of a surprise that upon visiting my friend who is living there at the moment, he suggested that we go to Billy's. A brand new pizza place that has "the best pizza ever." Ok, so he's from Florida... and making the claim that a new pizza place has the best pizza in New York City is a pretty outlandish claim, but I have to say, while it might not be the best, I was absolutely shocked at how damn good it actually was! The menu is pretty standard for a pizza place, but the quality of the food is definitely above average. Also, the restaurant itself is sparkling clean and a pleasant place to eat in. I know that this completely breaks the rule of the more divey the place the better the food, but hey, rules were made to be broken. Also, the staff is very friendly albeit a little quirky (the guy behind the counter advised me not to drink the tap water because it would "make my face fall off".) Maybe its just the contrast of the nice newness of Billy's compared to every other establishment in the area (and the bizarreness of there being nice newness in that seemingly forgotten neighborhood) but I would definitely recommend going next time you're in the hood. read more

Billys Pizza, another wonderful experience as always. From the custom pan pizzas to the amazing pasta choices. Most places are know for a few good dishes but at Billys its the opposite. One of the hardest things is knowing what to order since practically everything they serve tastes delicious. When experiencing the newly renovated store Billy, his brother along with his entire staff really make you feel like part of there family. First off, it takes a while for delivery- about 45 minutes or so. The pizzas, whether they are just cheese or with toppings, are always chock full of cheese with a little too little sauce and thin crust. Although some say there's never enough cheese, there is enough if the quality of it isn't the best. This place is one of the delivery options in the Lefferts/Crown Heights area (best pizza around is Family Pizza, but they don't deliver). I haven't actually been to Billy's in person, so I can't comment on the location, but I've ordered delivery a few times. Toppings were generous, the crust was pretty good (though I prefer the NYC-style paper-thin crust), but this pizza just doesn't cut it (er, slice it?) in a city with fabulous pizza. The sauce is my big complaint. It's lacking flavor and there just isn't enough of it. The cheese is also just a little weird. It would be a stretch to call this "great pizza", but it is one of the better delivery options in this nabe.
