Definitely try the Focaccia crust Sicilian style and extra basil, or anything with caramelized onions. The spicy eggplant is true to its name and will become one of your regulars. Deco is classic NY pizza shop with just a few crowded tables and Italian movie pictures on the walls. Also, say Hi to Alessandro and ask for his daily recommendations. Located in (Crown Heights) Brooklyn, NY is a place that's been around longer than I have been on this earth! When my cousin suggested that we get pizza, my family wasn't to enthusiastic. But after the bus ride across town to get a "Slice" and a "Pie", things changed quickly. My cousin explained to my family that "up here (NY), we don't do Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa John's or any of that. If you want a real "slice" you go to the Italians, and thats exactly what we did. We knew it was an amazing spot, because of all the foot traffic and phone calls they were receiving; it just didn't stop, lol. Once we placed our order: 1 Cheese pie, 2 slices of Pepperoni, and one slice of Pepperoni and Sausage (the sausage wasn't any of those crumbles we get down south, they were real slices) We had a time laughing and picking at my children trying to eat a slice (it was hilarious; you had to be there), I showed them the proper way to fold a slice to consume... It was a memorable experience to say the least. The taste was immaculate to say the least... I was immediately humbled and saddened at the same time, at some point I have to return home back in the south and I am not looking forward to it. For those that live here; somebody should have told me!!!, lol. But if you're ever in the area, passing through, or plan a trip, please make this a food stop on your list, you will NOT be disappointed!! Located on Franklin Ave nr Prospect Park, BK Musuem, Botanic garden. I stopped by this local spot for a slice. Alessandro was maintaining the counter. I got a plain cheese slice which was $3.50. Cash or credit. Was piping hot when taken out of the oven and almost burned my face off. Poor undercarriage. No fold. Broke apart since it was so hot and the cheese fell off. OK neighborhood spot. My mom and I stumbled upon Joe and Sals while we were in the area, for a quick lunch. Upon entrance, it was crowded, but we were helped quickly. There are stickers on the walls with notes from previous customers, which really brought a community feel. This is a pizza shop I feel like kids can grow up going to. One of the guys behind the counter is the son of the owners, so it's a true family-owned business. I have to say, this shop is as Brooklyn Italian as Brooklyn Italian gets. As far as the pizza, there's some pizza spots where I'm not as interested in eating the crust at the end- but with the two slices I got, I couldn't help but eat the whole thing. They were crisp and hearty, and stay put when you fold them instead of flopping down- which pizza buffs know is a sign of a high-quality slice. I got a classic margherita slice, as well as the spicy eggplant, which is topped with thin slices of baked eggplant and chili oil. It had the perfect kick to it while still staying true to its Italian roots. The spicy eggplant slice also had sesame seeds sprinkled on the crust, which just added to the taste of it- trust me when I say, this pizza is exceptionally delicious. It honestly reminds me of the pizza I grew up eating back home in Jersey, which makes it extra special for me What I love most is the variety; They always have such a great selection of slices, and sometimes I secretly hope they're a little low on plain cheese so I can try something new -- Bc every time I do, I end up loving it. We ordered delivery from here. We got the Bianca Pizza with gorgonzola cheese and carmelized onions. We added hot peppers as well. The onions were very sweet and balanced nicely by the sharp cheese. I love that they have a white pie without ricotta. Very tasty. We also got garlic knots, which were soft and buttery. The greek salad had a ton of feta cheese. The article stated the Sicilian slice was THE slice to get. Mind you J and S offer burrata, deep dish, nonna and more as far as Sicilian slice options. So here I am in this cool pizza joint with Michael Jackson staring at me from the poster hung in the back as I order my Sicilian. After a five minute wait, warmed up and asked if I want olive oil drizzled on the slice ( I passed), I stared at my massive slice. Wow! It's love at first sight. But how does it taste, you ask? In the words of Michael Jackson, "Don't stop til you get enough" fantastic! You know that first bite: the synchronicity of bread to cheese to sauce.. it's the ultimate bite and it was yummy. The crust is hard and dense, the cheese and sauce melts in your mouth and just the right amount of sauce. I ate every bite. How does Joe and Sal's ( formerly Nino's) compare to the others? Let's just say it's up there with Paulie Gees, L and B Spumoni, Forninos and yes Robertas. Meaning, THAT GREAT! I dare you to look and my picture of the Sicilian and not salivate! Good, simple pizza. The staff is always kind and apologetic for any long wait times. Ordering is easy online, and pickup is easy at the outside window. I haven't had to actually go into the store. Early in the pandemic, they built a little outdoor seating area in the street. The inside is pretty narrow, so I don't think they have much, if any, seating inside anyway. The fact that they built a patio area is pretty nice, especially if you arrive early and your pizza isn't ready yet. This place is a 4/5 for me, because I feel the prices are a bit expensive for what you get. Also, I'm not particularly a fan of the crust, and I wish they used more cheese. Overall, this is a solid place to pick up a pie. I definitely recommend the garden pizza. read more

It came with 2 medium sized dry mediocre meatballs and the sauce was salty and extremely acidic. I wouldn't recommend this at all. Delivery time was super quick and friendly. As to was the inside, holiday music streaming across above our heads with the tweeter and the tinsel engaged in metallic light and sounds. Mini pine cone shaped multi lights, the older kind that will put a third degree burn on ya with just one quick touch doubled in illuminati against the double mirrors, but the slice reheat is taking a long time and I'm done with googling the lights and tinsel. Plus the person next to me is as loud as a heated union negotiator on his Walmart prepay phone trying to impress with his "gimme a pie" order, until he found out it's cost then quieted down with his revamped"two slices" order. A super delicate crust gives me such joy, it's exactly how the NYC slice of pizza should be, gosh it was perfect so I take back my "reheat is taking a long time" commentary.
