Pepperoni Roll... $2.50
Cassie C.

EPITOME OF BROOKLYN PIZZA They are serving up great Brooklyn style pizza over here. This pizza won't make it to any of the highly publicized "Best of New York Pizza" lists because it lacks the amount of fanfare. It's a neighborhood pizza joint churning out great pizza for the locals. Brooklyn style pizza is known for its size, larger slices that are meant to be consumed by folding in half with one hand. Additional characteristics include a generous amount of cheese and thin chewy crust. Family pizza does all of the above while having a robust sauce with actual basil. As a longtime resident, it wasn't my go-to pizza spot as a child but it sure is now! Their pizza is delicious but don't forget about their pepperoni rolls, mozzarella sticks and garlic knots. They are a full service pizzeria so the pizza topping and even pasta options are endless. In an attempt to keep up with the times, they now accept cash app and Zelle for payment. So definitely come through to grab at least one slice when in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Delicious pizza and even nicer owners!! First of all, the pizzas are HUGE. Two pieces had be absolutely stuffed! We got half Margherita, half veggie. The Margherita was excellent--just what I needed. My friends are also vegetarian, so they've had their fair share of veggie pizzas. They said this was one of the most well-done, robust veggie pizzas they've ever had. The pizza dough/crust was also so soft and chewy. We also got the garlic knots, which were a bit disappointing. There was way too much garlic. I would've taken off a star, but the service here is so superb that I added it back on. Definitely stop by for a great slice (or more) of pizza!

Super cute pizzeria. Enjoyed the Mexican slice I had. Slice was super thin and crisp with perfect balance of pineapple and jalapeños. 1991 establishment my research shows. Storefront presents older but it's for old school vibes. Can't wait to try the other slices I got.

I needed something quick and easy to get during my lunch break. I ordered two slices and asked them to add all the veggies they could (trying to keep it healthy-ish.) I was expecting less veggies, but they were generous on the portion. The price was super reasonable and the pizza was solid.

$2.75 for a slice + $1 for topping + .50 cents for garlic knots =$4.25

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

He would pull the pans with his bear hand out of the oven and generously drizzle olive oil from a rustic copper container over every pie. He would then meticulously inspect the dough for bubbles. Then pop back in the oven for the imported olive oil to permeate and create a beautiful glistening coat. And once cooked he would then graciously cut basil on top of the pie. Dom has now passed but his legacy continues. I've always compared the then pie vs now. And like most things,, nothing beats the original. This is still a very good slice. I once rated them as the best in NYC. Unfortunately, its not at the very top but still on the podium. Coming back feels like you are saying hello to an old friend. If you haven't been, you have to try at least once.

We ordered a whole pie half plain and half pepperoni, which is only $2.50 more. What I notice right away is the zesty tomato sauce, which Has love. However, I must admit that the crust was a bit too hard for my taste. Yes! It was crispy, but biting through it was somewhat difficult. Overall a good slice, but maybe the dough was off a bit that day. Regardless, Luigi's Pizza is an institution and I will be back again next time I'm in the area. The Sicilian square "features a crispy crust, pillow-soft dough in the center, and is uniquely assembled with mozzarella cheese on the bottom and a rich tomato sauce on top". Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
