I don't typically see a lot of people dining at the Grounds of Brooklyn, but maybe that's because it's only been open for around 4 months, so a lot of people may not know about it yet. It's also right next to Milk & Honey, which is huge popular, so I'm guessing most people just haven't gotten around to checking out Grounds of Brooklyn yet. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch last week and were pleased to see they had a good brunch/lunch menu. He got the Bulgarian waffles and I had the breakfast burrito (sausage, egg, avocado, black beans). We shared the crispy cauliflower appetizer. The waffles looked really pretty on the plate! My boyfriend enjoyed them overall. My sausage breakfast burrito was pretty satisfying, but my favorite part of the meal was the crispy cauliflower. Although it didn't come out as crispy as I expected, the spices on the cauliflower made it so delicious! Definitely get the cauliflower! Also, the restaurant is really nice inside. Kind of made it feel like I went back a few decades in time. Taste | 4 Atmosphere | 4.5 Presentation | 4 Service | 4 OVERALL | 4

So glad to see there is a halal Italian food option now! I love Milk & Honey which shares an owner with this restaurant so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Food: To start I got the chicken parm pizza & meatballs pomodoro which were both great. The chicken parm pizza was s different than I expected it to be--it's pizza topped with chicken strips essentially. The fries were AMAZING! The Pappardelle was a decent portion and flavorful. I was particularly blown away by the baklava ice-cream...man that was good! It's a must try! Drinks: The mocktails are excellent and great to pair with your meal. I also got the latte for dessert. Service: 10/10 no complaints here! Ambiance: They have outdoor seating at the moment which is your own little igloo/bubble so it's super safe and sanitary. And cozy!

We decided to come here because it's very hard to find Halal brunch in the area and most of my family only eats Halal food. We had high hopes since it seemed to be owned & operated by the same folks as Milk & Honey. We went in around 1:45 pm on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 15 minutes for a table for 7. We looked at the brunch and menu and it was pretty decent, some egg dishes, some pizza & pasta options as well. We had the following: Pizza Margherita- my friend said it was good TGOB bowl- my friend was not a big fan of this , the mix of vegetables didn't really work well 3 Pizzas with eggplant & zucchini- this was under seasoned and required a ton of sriracha Farfalle - this looked like chicken soup minus the chicken - the pasta was cooked al dente which is great but also lacking salt - mainly carrots in the dish and some broccolini 2 poached eggs - I was not a big fan of this, the eggs were on top of sour cream and there was way too much sour cream. The best thing was the spinach and garbanzo beans. I also added a side of avocado and I kid you not, I think that's the smallest side I've ever seen Overall, the service was great. The food was not great, I'm really hoping they work out some of these kinks.

Gnocchi

A great new restaurant in the area to say that the food was delicious is an understatement. We got pizza, and they made it half three-cheese half Misti mushroom as per my request. We also ordered gnocchi, but for some reason, they forgot about it. We not only got out gnocchi very quickly, but we also got a dessert on the house as an apology from the stuff. The chocolate ravioli was so good. I can't recall eating such great food in a very long time, if not ever. The only disappointment was that they don't have an alcohol license and it is uncertain if that will ever happen (the distance from the nearby school is probably the problem) Overall, the place is fantastic! The design is beautiful and fancy. Highly recommended

Coke, CHICKEN PARM PIZZA, LAMB RAVIOLI

We came on a Friday for my birthday. It was kind of chilly and we arrived at 4-5ish. It was EMPTY. We got to sit in the Cinderella carriage. It was cute. Heater at top; felt a bit hot on my face for those of you who have sensitive skin... waiter was nice, good service; spot was creepy in the fact that he opened and peered into the carriage lol awk/funny- to give us check and ask if we needed anything... We got the coke first, and waited at least 20 mins for our food. Since there was no other customers, it was fresh. But I have to agree with the other reviews that the pizza was a bit burnt at the bottom; don't know if they were going for a smoked flavor or what. So $16 for a personal pizza and $18 for 8 pieces of lamb ravioli. Honestly the ravioli was just okay, nothing special. And I personally felt it was overpriced especially since there was no presentation; looked like something you slap on a plate at home. Bill came out $40 and $50 with tax + tip. Worth it? Honestly not really....

TUSCAN KALE CEASER

Great halal italian spot! Tastes like authentic italian unlike some other halal spots We got the Tuscan Kale Cesar salad, Pappardelle, Funghi pizza, and Lamb burger. Lovely trendy interior and cool old school vibes. Lovely attentive waitress, Everything was delicious, must try!

I really liked the Beef Whisperer Burger with fries and the Buffalo Wings. The chicken parm spaghetti was okay. The chicken could have used more salt and the spaghetti seemed a little bland. The service was on and off. We gave in a order for "to-go" at the very beginning so that we wouldn't have to wait after we finished, but we ended up having to wait instead. The interior and exterior decor is AMAZING and so different! Love it! Will come back.

SPAGHETTI AL MISTO MARE

Amazing spot for fresh foods flavorful. And they have a great selection of outdoor dining experiences. We sat in a Cinderella type carriage with warm heating lamps it was super cozy and safe.

Tiramisu which tastes like vanilla layer cake.

From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless -- warm, incredibly attentive, and perfectly paced. The refreshments were so great for a celebration. The Cocktails: Expertly crafted and sophisticated. It was refreshing to have drinks that were perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. The coffee was served alongside dessert, it was rich and the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful meal. While the Filet Mignon was a popular and well loved choice among our group, and the Meatballs were universally raved about for being truly excellent, the real showstopper for me was the Chicken Parmesan. I don't typically order steak, so I was delighted by this choice. The cutlet was impressively sized yet elegantly thin, showcasing the high quality of the chicken. It was served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes, which was such a comforting and delicious pairing. It did remind me of visiting Germany believe it or not like a schnitzel style cutlet but still very italian if that makes any sense. If you visit, you simply cannot miss the fried eggplant appetizer with burrata. It is divine! This dish alone would be the perfect excuse to drop by for a casual dinner date or a "girls' night out" centered around appetizers, wine, and to try a dessert. I would absolutely return!

The fried calamari could've been less oily, as this took away from the crunch; also slightly overcooked. Baked clams were decent. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Pizza was great! They reheated for us, since our group was too busy chatting. Desserts - phenomenal! Drinks- ehh. Brunch menu - French toast was decent. The salmon over hash brown , was lacking a touch of something , couldn't pinpoint what was lacking. Chicken and waffles, decent, wasn't the best I've had. Service- jonathan was our waiter during brunch and also our bartender. He's GREAT! During service dinner, we had a female waitress and I felt she lacked attention to details and couldn't flag her down when we wanted something. Overall, service is a hit or miss , I guess? If you're looking for an intimate dinner, nope. Love their vibes and music playing in the background. You might need to "shout"'to hear

From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was clear that Ren is leagues above any other restaurant we've visited. Calling Ren a restaurant feels almost like an understatement; it's a culinary journey. The menu is a testament to culinary artistry - each dish, from the appetizers through to the desserts, was a masterpiece. The flavors and textures were unique and memorable, with each bite cooked to absolute perfection. The service at Ren deserves its own accolade - it's a five-star experience in its own right. The waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive, enriching our evening with detailed descriptions of each dish. They didn't just serve food; they presented a story on a plate, explaining the intricate details of the ingredients, preparation, and the symphony of flavors to expect. The ambiance of Ren added to the magic of the evening. The decor was tasteful, the furniture and seating comfortable, creating an environment that was both elegant and inviting. It's clear that attention to detail is a priority here, and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant. In conclusion, dining at Ren isn't just a meal; it's an immersive experience that tantalizes all the senses. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, what you receive is far more than just food - it's an evening of unforgettable culinary exploration. I wholeheartedly recommend Ren Restaurant for anyone looking to elevate their dining experience to extraordinary heights.

Home is where the heart is and there is nothing quite like a home cooked meal. I have to say most Bay Ridgians enjoy dining local and in our neighborhood. I love to support neighborhood gems because majority of restaurant owners here, love their clients, establish loyalty through cooking delicious food and provide consistent great customer service. I was in the mood for a " comfort food"breakfast, you know, eggs, avocado, mozzarella, tomato, deliciousness and I found it on the menu simply named "Breakfast Sandwich". Which consists of voila: Mozzarella, avocado, tomato jam, arugula, crispy bacon, dijonaise, sunny side up egg between multigrain toasts. I ordered this sans the bacon ( requested turkey bacon which they do not have). What arrived in my plate was this decadent open faced egg sandwich that looked delectable.. and was!! Let's first talk about the wheat toast: I tasted it naked and it simply melted in my mouth. The ingredients worked well together, perfect synchronicity. I used one half of the toast to sop up any fallen ingredients. Highly recommend! For a drink, I wanted something a bit different, thus, ordered the Mango Mint Peach tea, fruity with a hint of mint. Loved it and went well with the Sammy! There are lovely options besides breakfast sandwiches like quinoa, oatmeal, granola, pancakes, French toast.. breakfast is served all day and lunch is served @noon. I arrived before 12 and was told I can order breakfast or lunch. It has a cozy, intimate vibe which I love.. one where you can dine solo, or do work or read or just enjoy the fabulous food. I will make "The Common" my home away from home. Additionally, there are cooking classes in their Park Slope location; the courses look great: Italian feast, Moroccan cooking, Wine Pairing and many more. Check out their website for more info. More to come from me.. The Common is located on 9406 3rd Avenue
