This is the best pizza in Park Slope...the sauce is delicious...always love the regular slice and grandma (so thin and crispy). The place is clean and they also have a good beverage selection. If you are looking for quick pizza this place is good. The crust needs some work it's very limp and not very flavourful. New York is filled with pizza places. This one is cheap and best served cold so that the crust has more stamina and you don't realize the lack of flavour. The cannoli wasn't bad and the minestrone soup was also good. As the 3-star description notes, this place is "A-OK" in my book. I've been there on two separate occasions and ordered the 2 cheese slices for $4 both times. This place really hit the spot, but not solely because I was STARVING and because I'm a starving student... The "2 slices" were literally a quarter of a pizza (bigger than my head, for reference!), so I was definitely full when I left. The pizza itself was a little bit greasy, but there are two cures for this: blot with napkins until your arm falls off (and your pizza still has an excessive amount of grease on it), or soak it all up with the garlic powder. I'm probably sending myself down a path toward early heart disease, but I have to say the second option tastes better! However, less is more--on the first slice, I didn't realize how large the openings on the lid of the garlic shaker were so I ended up shaking out enough garlic to ward off every vampire on the face of the earth for the rest of my life. Oops. A thin layer is all that is necessary to absorb the grease and enhance the flavor of your cheese slice! As for the other pizzas they had on the shelf, I would not purchase them by the slice. One Yelper already mentioned how the cheese begins to look like plastic after the pizza has sat there too long, and most of these pies simply did NOT look appetizing. Perhaps ordering an entire pizza would be a better bet since they should be making a fresh one! After skimming earlier reviews (and glimpsing another customer's plate during my visit today), I am thinking I will try the pasta next time. If I were not so hungry and were simply craving delicious pizza, I would probably head to Roma Pizzeria for the Fresh Mozzarella!! read more

Do yourself a favor and get the garlic knots! Best in NYC. Stuffed shells were just okay. The sauce and noodles were good, but the ricotta mixture inside was not great. Been coming here since 1991 and it's only gotten better. The food is great and for a fair price. Especially for the neighborhood where EVERYTHING can be pricey. The slice I had wasn't particularly bad, it was just extremely lackluster, dried out, and a little to crisp What will keep me from ever coming back is the way they treat their customers. When I attempted to use the restroom, even before I could make my way to the door I was shouted at by some women, claiming that the restroom was out of service pointing to a sign that proclaimed so as well, even though the guy behind the counter clearly buzzed me in so I could use it. Confused I sat back down and ate my dried out slice of pizza, then three minutes later she came over to my table, offering me to use the restroom. WTF? That lady actually has a desk set up in front of the bathroom to screen her customers of bathroom worthiness. I guess she then decides on the spot who gets to go and who doesn't. Ordered a large cheese pie, Sicilian pie and 3 hero family special with fries. The Sicilian was the worst version of this style pizza I've ever seen. Undercooked, anemic, doughy squares with a shmear of pasty sauce and a sprinkling of hardly melted mozzarella. Heroes were dry, bread was stale, frozen undercooked fries. This place hovers between 3 or 4 stars. It depends on what you order. Firstly, this is counter display, formica table joint, where half the orders are to go, and the other half are eaten by local workers/residents on the fly. No coal or wood-fired ovens with gourmet ingredients.... everything for sale is pretty standard. 8-10 pre-made pies on display, plus rolls, pasta and other things made to order. What I find interesting (and which prompts the initial above comment) is that they seem to offer a little bit of every type of pizza you'd expect in Brooklyn: - the basic, big, thin-crust cheese slice - simple, small, thin crust Sicilian/Grandma squares - plain, yellow cheese upon a 1 inch thick crust - dollops of Mozzarella on a heavily red sauced Margarita. - dollops of feta(?) on an eggplant layered pie. Today I wanted some meat and went with a pre-made slice of sausage, pepperoni, onion, peppers and other ingredients... sorta like a Pizza Hut "Supreme." It was then I realized this place is not serving the same basic pizza with the difference being the toppings. It's more like they are making 8 different types of pies... different crusts, sauces, cheeses - before even getting into toppings. Some they do well. Others are pedestrian. This might help explain the variety of reviews. Some selections hit the spot and others are merely meh. It really comes down to finding what you like. The inconsistency in theme will also mean it'll never win any major awards. On the flip side, the pizza places that do get big awards also cost $20+ a personal pie, 2-3 times the price of a quick meal at La Bruschetta. We've been looking for a good, new pizza delivery in Carroll Gardens and stretched out a bit by calling La Bruschetta of Park Slope. Normally we'll go for brick oven variants for pickup at Grimaldi's, but wanted to see if we could find "normal" pizza for delivery that was satisfying. We prefer a thin crust and high quality sauce & cheese. You want a pizza to arrive quickly otherwise the moisture from the heat makes the crust soft & mushy so we wanted quick delivery too. La Bruschetta delivered on all fronts! The ordering process was quick and painless (less than 60 seconds) and we went for the AMAZING special of 1 large cheese pie, 1 order of garlic knots (you get about 4-5) and 1 2L of soda for $13!!! We placed the order on a Saturday night around 9pm and were told it would take about 20-30 mins. Like clockwork, our buzzer rang 25 mins after hanging up the phone and we went down to sign our credit card slip (yes they take all cards). Delivery man was gentle to our pizza (no stuck cheese to the box top) and the pizza & the garlic knots were both crisp & hot! The quality of the dough is great/excellent and just the right thinness (two thicknesses above cracker crust). The pie stayed together well (no cheese sliding) as the very good /great sauce was meticulously portioned with the very good/great cheese. We're keeping La Bruschetta on the top of our delivery pizza list and think anyone looking for great service, amazing value and top quality delivery pie should check them out too! read more

A friend and I stopped in here after my dinner plans for the evening fell through. He was craving spaghetti and meatballs and I was craving, as I usually am, a good slice of pizza. The prominently displayed 'Pizza & Pasta' sign outside suggested this place would fit the bill. I actually thought 'Pizza & Pasta' was the name of the restaurant and didn't notice the 'La Bruschetta' sign inside until about five minutes later. The staff was very friendly and the cook even asked me if I'd like him to bring my pizza over once my friend's pasta was ready. He threw the pizza in the oven about a minute before the pasta was done so they were ready at the same time. The pasta is generously portioned and although the sauce was just a bit watery, and the meatballs average, the dish is priced pretty well. I'm a fan of Pino's La Forchetta down the street, which many consider to be one of the best slices you can get in Park Slope. However I think this is just as good. They do different things well. I think Pino's has a brighter tasting sauce but the crust at Bruschetta has got a better texture. Plus Bruschetta is a bit cheaper. This place should be towards the top of anyone's list if you're looking for good New York style pizza in Park Slope. read more

When I lived in Boston, I used to occasionally go to an Italian joint in the North End called Panino Express. One of the items I'd order regularly was the potato and egg sandwich. Tonight, I ordered one from La Bruschetta in Park Slope to see if I missed it. The sandwich was great, but it could have used some salt and pepper -- and maybe even some cheese. Not as amazing as I remember Panino Express's, but it was a good, filling dinner. Add to that a salad with oil and vinegar and a canolli, and it was a fine feast. Well, it might not be such a good idea to order delivery cannoli. A lot of the filling can smoosh out in transit. read more

I ordered garlic and oil fettuccine. Seven bucks. Yaaaas. I got it with fettuccini (you get your pick of noodles at no extra charge). Excellent noodles, well-cooked, not too limp and not too firm. Great sauce, savory but not excessively heavy, more weighty than pure olive oil and lighter than Alfredo. The serving is pretty large. It's dinner-sized, and as my first meal of the day it filled me up at 3 p.m. It also came with a hunk of plain bread (no garlic or oil), which was great as a base for the noodles. They don't advertise the bread as being included so it was a nice surprise. They are curt with their service but I wouldn't call it rude. They post "no outside food or drink" on their entrance but didn't raise any heckles when I drank from my water bottle. (Maybe because it was Ohio State-branded? The world is a strange place.) The guys who run it are Hispanic but they do a better job with their food than the other cheap Italian places I've been to in the city. read more

I work in park slope and often have to buy my lunch when I'm too lazy to bring it from home. This is my go to place. The pizza is really tasty, good crust, flavorful sauce and just enough cheese. Get the regular slice or the grandma. I'm a little obsessed with their eggplant roll, it's delicious! And very inexpensive for the area. The name, "La Bruschetta" sounds a little fancy/pretentious. The place isn't. It's your basic order-at-the-counter pizza place. I don't even think there's any bruschetta on the menu. Of all the countless pizza shops located in Brooklyn, I always find myself coming back to La Bruschetta. As I've mentioned before, the service is fast, slices are big and they don't skimp on the cheese like I've seen at some other places. Good, but not great. Think the cheese may be the culprit for me. Certain kinds just get waxy/greasy quickly after firing. Props (people still say that?) for the nutella pie though!
