I was in the area and wanted to check Emmett's off my bookmark list. I parked on the street, and went in to order. Most of the tables were full (small space) so I ordered a sandwich and coffee to go. The turkey club croissant (minus the bacon) and Latte with oat milk were served pretty quickly and the staff was really nice. I asked for soy and was told they have oat milk, which is perfectly fine. I liked the latte better than the sandwich. I love croissants, but it seemed to have too much of everything on it. Just not the best. It was fresh, so a plus. This is a place I might frequent if I lived close, but I don't so I won't. read more

I really like Emmett's Cafe, just wish it was a little more affordable. I went on a Saturday morning and was extremely happy to see how busy the restaurant was. The decor is very fresh and clean. Employees were super nice. Parking can be a bit of a pain. We ordered the lox sandwich which was super tasty. The pickled onion is a nice touch. We also got the south high salad and really enjoyed it. Anytime I see a tot on a menu, I order it. They did not disappoint. I was in town for work for a week and kept trying to make it over there but the timing was never right. I finally made it over there but only 15 minutes before they closed for the day. It's a small, quant little cafe and the food looked good but unfortunately I did not get to try anything. When I walked in and started looking at the menu, the girl at the register states before even saying hello, "just so you know, we close in 10 minutes so you will either have to eat fast or eat your food someplace else". I understand workers want to go home when their workplace closes, but the comment was unnecessary to say the least. I would have liked to try the food but the customer service alone will keep me from returning. But as long as you give the staff plenty of time before they expect to go home, it looked like it would be a decent place to try. read more

Emmet's Cafe 9/10 Loved visiting this cute cafe in German Village. I won't call it a hidden gem because nothing on High St. should be deemed "hidden". The staff was super nice and attentive. The prices are definitely on the higher side - but the quality shows for it. The wait time for our food was about 15 minutes. See below for what we got! Smooth as butta latte w/ oat milk - advice: add one packet of stevia and it will taste just like the milk from Cinnamon Toast Crunch. 10/10 Hibiscus Berry Iced Tea - added 2 packets of stevia. Without it gave a refreshing flavored water. But with it gave the desired sweet hibiscus. 7/10, wouldn't get again Turkey club croissant - how you would expect a croissant, Turkey, bacon, cheese, mayo sandwich to be. No surprises, satisfying, and fruit as a side was perfect. A biased 10/10 as I am a fiend for croissant sandwiches. The emmything - Flavor galore. The chicken is seasoned well. Sautéed peppers are a nice touch. The aioli is a tad bit spicy. The sandwich itself is a messy one. Comes with a side of tater tots which are especially delicious dipped in the aioli. Definitely the top recommendation for a first time visit. 10/10. My bf and I ate half of our sandwiches each so we had another half for the next day lunch, which definitely made up for the price! Went to Emmett's for brunch on Sunday. They have a very nice and simple menu. I had the lavender lemonade which was so refreshing. I also had the lox sandwich on focaccia bread. Cute little coffee shop with great coffee and food offerings. This place is very tiny and currently can only seat people outside since the very limited space inside. There is a lot more outside seating in the back patio which is not very clear if you're a first timer in the shop. The coffee is great and the staff is very friendly. They do not have Wi-Fi even though there's like 4 networks from them but maybe they don't want people sticking around all day. I recommend if you want a quick bite and quality coffee! read more

The Emmything Sandwich is one of the best sandwiches that I've eaten in a long time! From the incredibly flavorful chicken down to the sauce, greens, and peppers...everything was perfect! Pair that with a side of tots, and you've got yourself a number one fan!! The seating area is slightly limited, but if you can snag yourself a seat inside, it's a cozy place to spend the morning/early afternoon. My one complaint about any business in this area is the parking lot which can be nearly impossible to get a spot in. Luckily there seems to be an okay amount of street parking to get in. Wow this is the best meal I've had in AGES. I am still currently eating it and had to take a break to jump on Yelp to tell someone how good it is. I ordered the chorizo bowl and was blown away by how well all of the flavors go together. It's the perfect size for a filling lunch and tastes healthy yet also decadent. Ordering online and picking the food up was a breeze. My order was ready prior to the pickup time, and it was in a bag waiting by the entrance. A quaint little restaurant and coffee shop, there is plenty of great food and delicious coffee drinks to try. I tried the TK breakfast sandwich with a side of tots. I also got a small OJ. My total was about $20. It's a little on the pricey side for breakfast, but the food was SO GOOD! This place is pretty small on the inside, so I wouldn't totally count on being able to eat your food in the cafe. It's easy to take your food to-go though! Came on a Monday morning for brunch and got the hot chocolate with oat milk and a breakfast burrito. The place is spacious but not much seating available. Most people got their food to-go. Parking is street parking. There is a huge patio area in the back though but not for me in the winter. We were accidentally given a mocha instead of the hot chocolate which they quickly whisked away and replaced with hot chocolate. The breakfast burrito was quite large and I only ate half of it but it was really good! I heated the other half later that night for dinner, and it was just as delicious. The servers/baristas are friendly and very willing to help out. We were sitting right next to the kitchen area and when our food came out, the server said he would get it for us. We appreciated the gesture, especially since we could literally just swivel in our seats and get the food. Obviously, we just swiveled and got our food and thanked him for the good service. After a long couple of weeks at work and working through a couple of weekends, I took a random Thursday off to enjoy the day with my wife. We originally planned to visit a different place, but they didn't have indoor seating. We lucked out and visited Emmett's Cafe! I ordered the "Meat+Tato" and my wife got the "one-handed." I also ordered their black coffee, which was delicious. I will say, while we were eating we definitely had drink envy from what other people ordered. The food was delicious and I would recommend that you have a ginormous mouth in order to eat the "Meat+Tato" like a sandwich. Fortunately, I do have a large mouth. I love spicy food but I wouldn't say the sandwich was "hot" spicy, but it did have a bit of a spice to it. So if you REALLY can't handle spice, maybe don't order this or ask if they can be light with the house green hot sauce. If you are hungry this will fill you up as far as breakfast/brunches go. The "one-handed" was good but a little small (hints the name.) If you are hungry I would recommend adding something else to help fill you up. Last, but not least, if you like black coffee. Get their special blend. It is probably offered for a limited time, but it was delicious, smooth, and with complex flavors (and a hint of acidity which is not a bad thing. Coffee people you know what I mean) Also, get the cortado. We didn't order it but saw someone who did and it looked amazing! read more

Loved my stop at Emmett's Cafe this morning! Went to carry out some brunch. I ordered an Americano, the Lox, Breakfast Burrito and roasted veg. The food was ready right at the time I scheduled. It's quite small / cozy on the inside. The kitchen is relatively open. Very cute inside. The food was all amazing. I never had lox on a sandwich before but if it's good on a bagel, why wouldn't it be on focaccia? The sandwich included literally my favorite foods... arugula, egg, beets, cream cheese, lox. Heavenly combo and it was a thiccc (with 3 cs) sandwich! The breakfast burrito was good too. I had a few bites of my husband's. It had the fluffiest eggs, bacon, chipotle aioli, avocado... all within a perfectly toasted burrito. It also came with a pico which added some nice acidity to a very savory burrito. The roasted veg were good... it was cauliflower with curry and almonds. I wasn't expecting this dish to be cold but it had great flavor. Wouldn't order it for breakfast though next time. Have seen this place on Yelp and have been wanting to try it! Was really happy with it! I called and asked a worker if anything on their menu was gluten free. The worker was very friendly and gave me three options that were gluten Friday already and some others that could be modified to be gluten free. There is a very easy online ordering system and it was ready right when I walked in. There is not a lot of indoor seating and I'm not really sure if there was anywhere to park for free. The food was great though. It was very filling. Loved the crispy tots and the sauce that came with it! So flavorful. The falafel sandwich was wonderful. The falafel was also full of flavor and all the sauces were great. I really enjoyed my visit here! read more

With its minimalist interior and pretty outdoor patio area, Emmett's is easily one of the cutest brunch spots in Columbus. The one-handed breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, and tator tots are all delicious. Breakfast burrito was yummy, too. Staff was welcoming and food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The space is smaller, so you have the option of waiting for your order inside or outside in the patio area. Sometimes in the winter, heat lamps are turned on for warmth and comfort. As for the food, the breakfast sandwich is unique -- the rosemary aioli spread was flavorful and with the eggs and prosciutto, there was a nice balance of sweet + salty. I had a bite of my friend's avocado toast, which was very light, yet the avocado made it filling, and they did a solid job of topping it with many ingredients -- made it super colorful. I stumbled upon this place on Yelp while visiting Columbus. This cafe kicks ass! Way better than a lot of expensive cafe's in NYC. The storefront is cute and clean. It has a large patio on the back. It seemed like a perfect place to do work or go on a date. The coffee was delicious! I had the flat white and it was perfect and foamy. The entire cafe smelled like fried prosciutto. It was wonderful! We got the one-handed (English muffin with eggs, cheese, crispy prosciutto, and rosemary aioli). The muffin and eggs were so fluffy. Delicious breakfast sandwich! Although, I think they could have substituted the prosciutto with bacon instead (would have been a lot cheaper and would have made the sandwich more rich with bacon fat). What a lovely addition to this side of town. Kind staff and fresh/flavorful food will definitely keep this place busy. It's the right amount of food that feels indulgent without being too heavy. They are doing online orders with pickup as well as ordering inside to dine on the patio. They'll provide you with a table number and bring your order out to you. The PB&J cookie was crunchy with a nice balance of salty and sweet. I'm actually not a fan of crunchier cookies but this was crunchy, chewy and delish. Eve and Avery are very accommodating hosts and work their tails off for the entire time that I saw them buzzing from the kitchen, to the coffee machine, the tables and the POS systems. I'd leave a picture of the food, but my s/o and I absolutely inhaled them lol. Great place with a front and a back patio, just make sure that if you want to go outside you make it known when you order. Glassware can't go outside :p If there was one of these in Broad Ripple I'd be there in a HEARTBEAT. I'd recommend this place to anyone who loves a good morning brew or a tasty morning meal. Is that Latin-African (drumming) mixed music? Whatever it is, boy oh boy do I like the vibes it gave me. Emmett's is adorable - I like the minimalist look, and this new neighborhood restaurant fits to the T. To me, I love restaurants that don't spend a large amount of their time and money on the decor and frills. White walls and natural wood, minimal menus lining the walls; theirs is a simple letter board with their Australian-influenced coffee/espresso offerings. I prefer to occupy my thoughts of food, so Emmett's ambiance is smack on. First of all, I salute and adore "all-day eateries", serving all three breakfast, lunch and dinner. I feel like Columbus is sorely lacking in this category, so Emmett's is such a breathe of fresh air. Their breakfast offerings end at 4pm daily, so I went with the Harvest Bowl. Oh my good lawd, this quinoa bowl was full of components, and damn-fine full of flavor (to the max!). The miso-maple-mustard dressing was interesting; a sweet-and-sour kinda thing, and went perfectly with the savory fall veggies and quinoa. I also had a bite of the Schiller Bowl, and WOW! Excellent savory flavors - that hollandaise sauce is the perfect icing on the cake. I'm super impressed with pretty much ALL the menu offerings. Everything is so "clean" and fresh. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT sleep on Emmett's! Service was prompt and polite. Love the kitchen area setup, and how it's open to viewing if your waiting on your order. I will be back STAT to try a breakfast bowl - all the yogurt-and-fruit combos are calling my name. And, to be honest, a grain bowl will probably accompany that order, cause, ya know, two birds, one stone (trip to GV)!! read more
