I had been sick and Cooped up in the House. When we arrived, it was easy to find and the location is perfect. Parking is valet, or park on the street. We paid $8 to park in a lot nearby and walk. There is an awesome spiral staircase in the middle of the hotel, but you can only get to it from the 2nd floor. Or take the elevator to the 10th floor and you'll hear a bit of noise, walk towards it, and you're there. The bar/restaurant feel is amazing. It's simple, yet elegant and classy. You could come in casual wear and enjoy a drink with friends and watch a sports game (as they have TV's) or sit on the enclosed outdoor patio around one of 3 fire pits and sip on a crafted cocktail. I had an Irish Manhattan - and it was great. My husband got the pineapple mojito and it was wonderful as well. My friends ordered the tacos and said it was amazing. We didn't order food. Here are just some things to note: - Service is different here, it's the feel of a rooftop bar in NYC where the servers come around and get your order (just a lot smaller than the NYC rooftop bar scene. - You can order drinks directly at the bar if needed. - You can order food and drinks even in the fire pit area. - Drink prices range from $5 beers to $10-15 craft cocktails. Compared to the area, this isn't a bad price at all. - wine options were a little more pricey and slim on selections, but the options were great choices in my opinion. - the bar is kind of loud - I was screaming at my friend to talk - it wasn't a club or loud music vibe, it's just people were enjoying themselves. So basically, if you are taking a group here to chat it up and don't want to scream, I would go elsewhere for that. (Say a group of friends that have catching up to do) - it is a great date location and there are couches and chairs side by side for the perfect one on one convo even if it is loud. - it opened in the fall so I can't comment on what it's like for the nice weather, but it was warm with the plastic enclosed walls for January. - the views are nice - but I would say Chattanooga's best views. This was probably the biggest disappointment for me. I was hoping for a little more. All in all - it's a great venue and a beautiful hotel. The service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. The only reason I wouldn't go here, was if I was wanting to support more of a local bar scene. Other than that - it's a win win for craft cocktails and fire pits! :)

After work on a Friday... it was busy but luckily my Peruvian partner arrived early and secured a table. Keg had kicked on my first choice, so I went with a Negro Modelo. I ordered a Cuban sandwich, of which I am a fan and make at home often. It was different from my version, but quite tasty, hot and lean meat, crunchy pickle and mustard. I prefer a crustier bread, but the soft, sweet and toasty roll was OK. Plantain chips were great. My partner had already finished her ceviche, so I didn't get to try it... she said it was Cuban style, not very spicy, small portion. Again, this is a dish we make at home frequently, so we're a bit snobby about it. Empanadas were tasty and hot. Partner's half-cuban daughter ordered a medianoche and said it was great... she's often visited Miami, so she knows a good sandwich. Service was attentive and quick, considering the crowd. It was nice to see a friend on the wait staff. Too bad I've quit the rum and cigars, or I might've added another star... we'll definitely be back for more! read more

So glad to have a delicious Latin restaurant in the area! I've been here several times already and it has not disappoint. The decor, ambiance and staff are all great and the food is amazing!!! One of my favorites include the empanadas (meat turnovers) which are huge, packed with flavor and they come with a delicious dipping sauce that was specially prepared by the chef. I've also tried their Cuban sandwich (with authentic Cuban bread and hot off the sandwich press, just like in Miami), the chicken breast (juiciest piece of chicken I've ever had - marinated in mojo) and the ropa vieja ( shredded beef) which is so flavorful and a great compliment to the white rice and sweetness of the plantains. Also, don't forget the bar: they have the best handcrafted drinks in town. Restaurant also has valet parking. read more

My husband and I had an incredible experience at Embargo 62 last Friday night. We both ordered the palomilla steak, and it was bursting with flavor--cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. As someone who grew up eating Cuban food, I was thrilled by how authentic and delicious it was. We arrived around 8:40 PM and were surprised that the place was so quiet for a Friday night. The staff assured us they were open until 10 PM, so we opted to sit outside by the cozy fireplace. With the patio all to ourselves, we put on our favorite Latin playlist and enjoyed one of the best meals we've had in Chattanooga. This place should be booming with business. Amazing place! The decor is lovely and the seating really comfortable. The food is exceptional you get real Cuban food. It's so nice to have a great Cuban restaurant in Downtown Chattanooga. I highly recommend their Fish Ceviche, Cuban Sandwich, Enchilado de Camarones, Lechon and everything else on their menu.The prices are very reasonable. The bar looks amazing and their drinks are absolutely delicious. Cuba Libre, Guayabita and mojitos are some of my favorites. Can't wait to go back! Service was great, they were attentive and checked up on us from time to time. I just felt like the Carne Asada price at $17.99 did not correlate with the quality of meat at all. The other sides were good, like the avocado, beans and rice. And the overall portion size was great too. But for the dish as a whole, I can't justify the price for that. I've been to other mexican restaurants in the area with better Carne Asada that I'd choose in a heartbeat. Despite that experience, I'd come back here but I'd definitely order something else.
