This place was fantastic and is great for a power lunch or upscale (but not stuffy) dinner. I had the chicken sandwich wrapped in prosciutto for lunch and it was delicious (with a little kick to it as well). The service was great. Definitely worth checking out. read more

So I recently stopped here on a trip to Pittsburgh and was blown away by my meal! The risotto was the best I had ever had and I order it regularly when I eat out the floor and texture were right on. The chicken I had was perfectly prepared and the 3 types of fresh baked breads were fantastic. The fresh homemade macaroons with raspberries really topped off the meal. Will certainly be visiting my next time I'm in Pittsburgh. read more

This is probably the nicest restaurant in town with choices of indoor or outdoor seating. Plush interior, and cute little upstairs dining with open air style seating. We had several dishes and everything had the most wonderful flavors, cooked to perfection. Staff seems to be attentive and food was so tasty! Every morsel was enjoyed. If you are wondering if this is the place for dinner I have two words for you! Do it! read more

Awesome bread, awesome oysters, awesome wine list and excellent bar drinks. Service was great. Would visit more often if I had more money (quite expensive). read more

Excellent food and service! Loved the pork chop. The hangar steak was also cooked to perfection.

Not worth the price. For quality of food that is probably about 10% better, they charge 3X the price. If I check my mathematics, that doesn't add up. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Well worth the price. The service is passable.

The atmosphere of Eleven is very classy and elegant, but the real star is the food. We started with the scallops for appetizers; the scallops were huge with a very nice ham hock. These were actually more filling than I thought with the potatoes. I had the Black Bass, which was succulent with a well matched polenta. For dessert, we shared the creme fraiche brulee. This was little and flavorful. The only issue was that top of the brulee was so caramelized that it was difficult break into small pieces. However, this was the only flaw that I could find in the entire meal for the night. This is one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh to appease your inner foodie. read more

I have been here twice so far. The first time I sat at the bar for happy hour and got a ton of half price food and drinks. The mules is delicious. The service is excellent and happy hour is a great time to visit if you are on a budget but want to sample some of the best food in Pittsburgh. The second time I visited was for brunch and my BF and I both got the prix fixe which included an appitiser, entre, and alcoholic beverage for $25. It is a great deal. I had the cauliflower soup, lamb rancheroes, and mimosa and my BF had the hash, steak and eggs, and mules. I intend to go back sometime for the tasting or chef's menu with pairings because I am guessing it is a good value as well. read more

I've been here twice now, and the food is consistently very good (though not daring enough to be called great) and the service really quite good. If you're looking for a nice dinner out in Pittsburgh, this place is a good bet. My only complaint would be that if you're going for a quiet dinner and they put you upstairs above the bar, it's like you're in the bar--it's too loud. read more

Ate here last night with my Dad. We're from out of town and decided to try this place out and WOW, really really good! I had the tenderloin, probably one of the best I've ever had. The lamb taco appetizer was a weird combination but turned out to be delicious. Cool atmosphere too. Highly recommend. read more

Eleven is a great place to celebrate an occasion. The ambience is intimate but yet good for large groups as well. The food was delicious (we tried the crab cake and the seared salmon). Definitely a place for an anniversary, birthday, or any celebration. This place is expensive but I think definitely worth at least one visit. read more

The food here was just alright, but the service was excellent! I also liked the interior, but I don't find their dishes to be as impressive as umi and soba ( I know it's different cuisine but just a general feeling), so I wouldn't return. read more

Very underwhelming experience. We ordered the tasting with wine pairing and a few appetizers to start. The tuna tartare had a mush-like texture and was flavorless. The yellowtail sashimi unfortunately was not much better. As for the tasting, not one of the dishes were memorable or worth the price we paid for them. The dessert was probably the best part of the tasting. Overall not bad service but the food was certainly disappointing. read more

I've been to Eleven a few times and it has consistently been a great experience. My last meal was the lamb chops. They were excellent and prepared perfectly. I highly recommend eleven for a date or small group. read more

I have gone to Eleven for a long time. The first thing you will notice is the service is always great. The environment is very comfortable yet classic. You can go in jeans or get dressed up. As for the food I have found most dishes are quite good even if the portions tend to run small. I do hate it when the change the menu and take someone off I really like but at least it they do change. The seafood sampler is a must try. I don't love the mussels as they just didn't have enough flavor but the sausage pretty good. I do recommend soaking the bread cubes in the sauce they are amazing. read more

Everything was awesome start to finish. Went here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Rock shrimp and other appetizers , and meals were delicious and hot. My wife had the tenderloin, I had the lamb. Our service was great as well. Tom took great care of us and the whole staff acknowledged my wife's birthday from the moment we check in. Thank you Eleven for making the dinner special! read more

If you are out for a date or a meeting, this is a good place. Decent food, nice service, quiet environment, people dress up, valet parking. I ate here twice -- one for free and another paid, but I probably wouldn't make this a first choice for another fun dining experience, unless on special occasions. The food tastes great but is also pretty standard. I felt I paid mostly for the formality here. In summary, this is a great place to find out -- best with a reason. The establishment is quite impressive and memorable. read more

Best happy hour in town! Awesome drinks and food. 4 stars because I would only eat here at happy hour prices. I don't mind spending extra on. high-quality food, but the dinner food is too expensive for what you get. read more

Extremely classy. Excellent food & fantastic wine selection. A great option for upscale dining. Service is top notch. We went for our anniversary and did not like the table that they had set aside for our reservation, so they very happily accommodated us immediately with a far better table option. It was a perfect place to celebrate. read more

We had a great evening all around. We were warmly greeted and had an attentive waiter. The meal was well paced and the food was inventive and delicious. We look forward to returning. read more

Dinner was excellent. The filet was amazing, garnished with Gorgonzola cream sauce. The seafood sampler was also delicious, as was the foie gras. Ask for the table upstairs overlooking the bar with curtains for privacy. It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. read more

Stopped in for lunch the other day. I decided to eat a little bit Unhealthy and go with the pastrami sandwich. I'm so glad I did. The pastrami combined with the coleslaw on fresh bread was fantastic.after I get the gym a few times, I will definitely be back. read more

Based on the reviews on Yelp, we decided to try Eleven this morning for brunch. We weren't greeted with a very warm welcome to start, and we were almost seated on the restaurant side but our table seemed a little close to the kitchen (open kitchen concept), so we opted to sit in the bar. The dated couches and decor in the bar seemed like it was due for a remodel, but we wanted to give the place a shot anyway. Our service was overall pretty lack luster, we had a few questions about the menu that either couldn't be answered or were answered quickly with a somewhat short response.. We opted to get the price fixe that included a cocktail, appetizer and dessert. The pastries they brought out were great, although the biscuits were a touch dry/overcooked. Both my husband and I thought our food was mediocre for what we paying, and my steak with the crispy farm egg (egg was delicious and great!) was very overcooked.. Our bartender (didn't mention name) was busy chatting at the other end of the bar, so we sadly didn't order another bloody mary (which was also very good). Overall we just didn't feel as comfortable as we would've hoped for dining in a nicer establishment like Eleven.. The food was okay, and the place has potential, it just fell short in a few key areas. read more

Let me start by saying the seating staff made our experience a negative one. Which is unfortunate because the food was exquisite. My fiancé made a reservation at least 3 weeks ahead of time as it was my birthday celebration. When we arrived we were seated at a small booth right next to the entrance with the noisy kitchen neighboring us. We asked the seating staff if we could be moved to another open booth due to the noise and strong steam from the kitchen. There was an open booth in the vicinity which clearly was open. The seating staff said they cannot move us as they were booked for the night. I mentioned how we had made a reservation weeks in advance and this was a special occasion we were celebrating but she refused and I might add was not understanding at all. The waiter came to our table and demanded our drink order. She seemed disinterested and short with us. We asked her again if she could move us to a different table, such as the open one right across from us away from the kitchen and entrance. She said she would not be able to move us. We decided to remain at this small booth but realized about 30-40 minutes later a couple was seated at that same open booth. I was confused on why we were not able to sit at an open table especially when the couple who was seated at that table came after us. Besides the rude seating staff, the waitress added to the negative experience. The food and cocktails were absolutely delicious. But we were here to celebrate a special occasion, and the staff made it significantly less enjoyable. read more

The service here was horrible -- upon walking in, we seated ourselves with a large party, and the waiter continued to mock the fact that we had such a big group in the restaurant. He kept making rude comments such as "who planned this?" And laughed at the fact that we were inside, and then muttered "this is bullshit" under his breath when he thought we weren't looking. Awful way to treat any customers, and we immediately walked out of the place. It seems classy but the employees are definitely not. Never going back! read more

The food here is incredible. This is our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh area. I'll eat anything, but my wife is a vegan. Each time we go the chef customizes her dinner and she raves about it each time. A happy wife makes a happy husband. I've never had bad service or even a slightly off meal here. Excellent. read more

Had lunch here during a conference at the Convention Center. Easy walk from the convention center. The ambiance was hip (lunchtime crowd looked like office people, execs and professionals.) I ordered the veal burger with goat cheese and thinly sliced, crispy onion rings. I asked for arugula and greens salad instead of the fries that came with the burger (no extra charge. You can choose white cheddar or Maytag blue) A little bit pricey at $14 but it was very good. I put some arugula in it too. Lunch dessert cost $8. read more

Visited Pittsburgh for a few days, we there for our anniversary . The place was very nice and our waiter was the best. The food was delicious and wine was prefect. A Must place to eat read more

My husband and I visited for our first time in Pittsburgh. We were adventurous and ordered the scallop appetizer, neither of us had ever tried them. It was pretty, not a texture I loved but that's not their fault, of course. It came with a small tasty salad. While waiting for food, we were offered some bread. I loved the tomato focaccia! My husband sprung for the steak, which was the most amazing steak either of us have ever tried. The only steak he has eaten without A1. It was served with parmesan potato tots which were fun and delicious. My pork chop was so juicy and beautiful! Turns out I do not like beets and there were quite a few on the plate, but it also came with two of the most amazing onion rings. It only had 3 slices of grilled peach slices, which I was looking forward to more. On to dessert. OMG! We got the banana cream pie. It is not your ordinary banana cream pie! It is heaven on a plate. The only downfall was that my husband ordered a Pepsi, and for each refill, we were charged $3.50. So over $10 for 3 small glasses of an alcohol free beverage. Bummer that we weren't informed. But overall we had a wonderful experience thanks to the fantastic food and our excellent server, Margaret. And to top it off, at the very end of our meal, we were brought two squares of salted caramels which was awesome. It was a lovely dining experience, but even so, the prices were steep. read more

Delicious Brunch! Today, two of my friends and I went to Eleven and got their prix fix brunch, which comes with an appetizer, cocktail, and entree at $25/person. Everything was amazing! I had the short-rib appetizer, which I could eat all day. It is flavor packed. Then I had the eggs Benedict. It was so refreshing to have a different cut of ham and larger muffins. These were possibly the biggest servings of benedicts I've ever seen. Mike, our server was great and very attentive. My only complaint is that the server assistants/other wait staff could be a little more personable. You'd thank them for something and they wouldn't even respond. Overall this brunch is not to be missed! read more

Excellent birthday meal! We were impressed with their ability to make a reservation for a Thursday night the day of. The atmosphere was very sophisticated/modern and there is ample space between tables to feel that your meal is private and you are not crammed against someone else. They brought out fresh bread which was delicious. My partner and I shared the seafood tasting and gnocchi dishes, but which were a decent portion and absolutely delicious. All the seafood was cooked perfectly. For dessert I selected an in season sorbet, which was served with fresh berries and cookies. The sorbet had outstanding strong flavor and was an excellent option for a lighter, but flavorful dessert. The menu is a bit pricey, but seemed comparable to other nice restaurants with similar quality of food. This would be an excellent place for both social and business meals and we will definitely return. read more

Could not have had a nicer evening! Food was exceptional, wait staff perfect, easy and able to hear and have conversation with table mates.

Five stars to the chef. We had an amazing meal. Service was flawless. But sadly, we won't be going back to Eleven because of the "inferior" decorator. What a dirty trick to place bordello-esque photos in the men's room where parents could take young children unsuspectingly. To the owners of the restaurant, when you decorate with your very unique personal style, you limit the number of people who might identify with it, much less appreciate and enjoy it. It seems that a restauranteur would want to appeal to a broad base of customers. You do that with your menu but not your decor. read more

Quality food and atmosphere. This is a great place to take a date. The staff was friendly and service was excellent. If you haven't tried Eleven yet I recommend it. I remember having the mussels and mopping my bread into the sauce. Definitely will be back. read more

My friends and I dined at Eleven last night before going to see a show at the Benedum. Everything about our experience was great. The food was very very good. I started with the baby kale Caesar salad and had the grilled swordfish as my entree. The grilled swordfish was fantastic. Others entrees at the table were the salmon, pork chop and strozzapreti. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our waiter was great too. He was extremely friendly and very helpful when it came to our questions about the menu. I would definitely recommend Eleven and planned on returning. Would love to try their brunch next time. read more

Eleven has become my Go-To for a perfect dining experience. I just celebrated my birthday there and they went to great lengths to make it wonderful: impeccable service, delectable food and drink, and lovely ambiance, even giving us our own small dining room off the main dining area. I recently took my Girlfriend to Eleven for our Christmas Dinner and it was a huge success!!! We sat upstairs in a private booth, which was great so we could talk and not have others right next to us. We brought a great bottle of wine, but the have a GREAT wine list as well. Our server Brett was one of the best waiters that I've ever had. For an appetizer we had the Beef Tartare and it was delicious. Our meals consisted of The Strip Steak and The Seafood Tasting. I had the steak and it was prepared magnificently! Her seafood had each piece perfectly cooked. For dessert we had the Creme Brûlée as well as the Warm Dark Chocolate Cake. They were perfect. After dinner we relaxed for a few minutes and finished our wine, then called it an evening! I highly recommend Eleven for a nice night out, celebration, or a dinner with a loved one!!! read more
