Sunday brunch-day! We went to Eleven to celebrate my sisters bday and it did not disappoint. Shout out to Dustin our waiter who took great care of us .. Started with a adult beverage - I chose the Snowbird - which I have never had there before. Really good and liked they used some hometown rum in it! Then for my app I tried the pork belly which was a first for me... so good! The right balance of salt to sweet.. and with a dippy egg- very tender and delicious. Rounded it out with Steak and Egg ... omg... I look forward to going here for that alone The egg is cooked perfect and the steak rack is so tender. You will not leave hungry! Tip: Sign up for their club .. they give some nice coupons read more

Eleven is just a consistent and go to restaurant for solo dining, groups, dates and events. Solid service and fresh ingredients with a variety menu of diets. Rarely ever an issue here. They have new hours after Covid opening at 5pm. The bar scene is always great here. Meet new people, join the locals and chat with transient travelers. Always a good place to go solo for that reason if you want to chat it up. Their pastry menu is to die for also. Incredible pastry chef. Great wine list, never disappoints or there isn't a substitute option that is just as good as the sold out bottle. Hands down perfect martinis for those with specific of extra dirty, dry, stiff, wet.... But as you can see, I'm a huge fan. Always will be. read more

This place is on the fancier side but inside the restaurant is feels quite cozy with the lighting and couches. Their dishes were cooked to perfection! We got the tuna tartare, strip steak, and lamb dish. The price range is around $20-45. One thing that was a little disappointing was the bread because it was very cold and a bit hard. They also gave us complimentary chocolate at the end of our meal. They have valet parking in front of the restaurant! I would come back for a fancy date night :) read more

Fantastic brunch with some great food options. The oysters were on point, the drinks were great. We had a party of 12 & they handled it easily. Good wine list, good liquor selection & the food was outstanding. Just a couple pictures attached. A little on the slow side for service but not too bad. I think it's because they actually make everything fresh instead of mass producing food. Would recommend to anyone. read more

I came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday with his parents and we have an absolutely lovely time. Our server, Rob was a delight and gave us phenomenal recommendations. We sat at a table overlooking the bar with a private feel. We started with the calamari and was cooked perfectly. I had the beef tenderloin for my entrée and ate every bite of it. Service was phenomenal. Thank you so much for the great experience we will be back! read more

Love the brunch here! If you're looking for something more upscale with quality food and service, this is your place! The space is big and they do have options if you would like to rent out a space for a private event. The brunch is prix fixe for $35 and you get a cocktail or juice, appetizer and entree. It is a lot of food, so definitely come hungry! It starts off with a seasonal, assorted bread basket they bake in house. They also make the bread for their sister restaurant, Casbah. Then an appetizer or entree. The menu is a good variety of options for breakfast, lunch and sweets. The steak and eggs, ricotta cavatelli & beignets were a hit! read more

Oh my. We had a great night here. We were out for my birthday. The seating was spaced out and there were plexiglass barriers between tables that I didn't even notice at first, but when more people came in I did appreciate. It doesn't feel like doomsday/hermetic plexiglass, just a nice thought for people uneasy about inside dining. The food was incredible and I was in the moment enough that I didn't even think to grab a pic before dessert. We had the oysters which were ice cold and delicious (their house made hot sauce was perfect with them) and scallops with roasted corn and and deliciousness to start. My husband has the short rib which was super tender and flavorful. I had the swordfish which our waitress recommended. It wasn't the first or second thing that jumped out at me from the menu but I love waitstaff suggestions and went for it. It was insanely good. The black rice has such a nice chewy texture and the olives on top really set the whole dish off with their brineyness (I definitely made that word up). We shared both dishes a little because they were so different but both were so delicious. I got the candy bar for dessert and it came with a little white chocolate happy birthday desolation which was a sweet touch. It was also delectable and I barely shared it, ha. All in all, I have been super curious about Eleven tucked away in the strange corner between the convention center and history museum and I would also outlay go back! Our waitress was super sweet and helpful too. She helped make our night special, thanks, Chloe! Also, we were able to park on the street about 3 blocks away and it is a super easy walk there. read more

This review is a month past due. A must for brunch! Bring your appetite! We were in town for a college visit. Our friends just moved to Pittsburgh a month ago. So they are still learning the city. We decided to try Eleven based on the reviews. It's a higher end restaurant. Nice decor. Service was impecable. We didn't know brunch was prix-fixe $29. Definitely worth it! The prix fixe brunch comes with a juice, appetizer, entree with a complementary bread basket. The menu offered a nice variety. Portions are huge. When my pork belly appetizer came out, I knew I was in trouble. I ate an egg McMuffin at O'Hare 3 hours prior and had to try everything in the bread basket. The pork belly was delicious. I ate it all. Then my hanger steak came out, wholly moley it was huge and looked so good. I love hanger steak. It was perfectly cooked, so juicy and well seasoned. Definitely, one of the best steaks I had in a very long time. The steak alone would have cost more at a "steak house." At this point, I was beyond stuffed. I couldn't finish my entree. I was so sad and I couldn't take the rest since we were staying at a hotel. One teen had the beingets and the other, the sticky buns as their appetizers. They both had the polenta waffles. My friend had pork belly and the omelet. Everyone loves their meals. All in all I highly recommend Eleven! You will not be disappointed! read more

Went to celebrate my dad's birthday, the place was fine, I wouldn't go again or recommend it necessarily though. If this was a mid range restaurant it would be really good, but as a finer dining establishment, it's a bit disappointing. The salmon was really good, but everything else lacked flavor, they just put fancy ingredients in stuff to make it seem more high end. Also everything had corn in it, which is not a good or bad thing, just a very random ingredient to decide to include in almost every dish. The waiter was really nice but the service wasn't special in any way. Also the decor was nonexistent and the ambiance was just not thought out at all. They did give us some free chocolates at the end of the night. read more

Came here on my Birthday. The restaurant aims to serve Modern American style food, which they do well, but in terms of the flavors -- it's rather bland and a bit clunky. A lot of dishes are oversalted, and the sauces often don't accompany the dishes that well, being a distraction rather than elevating the experience of certain parts of the dish. Service is good though, and it definitely fits into the downtown Pittsburgh food scene well. read more

5* service; 5* decor and ambiance; 5* food Excellent chef. Loved the tuna tartare recipe. I should mention, I requested the seasoning mix, soy based sauce and yuzu sauce on the side. I loved the soy based sauce; it resembled teriyaki sauce but was better; I used it sparingly. Even without the sauces, the dish was tasty. Also enjoyed the beet salad. I enjoyed the pink and yellow beets, marcona almonds and blue cheese. I was glad we were seated upstairs where it was quieter and more romantic. read more

We had dinner here on a Saturday night, making early reservations for 6 PM. The hostess station was awkwardly overstaffed when we arrived and our greeting was sterile. Not off to a great start. We are seated upstairs and the ambiance is interesting. It overlooks the bar, so for better or worse the television is within view. Our waitress comes and we are told there are no specials as the chef likes to mix things up. The chef changes the menu frequently. She mentioned the chicken and beef tenderloin were traditional choices. I ordered the swordfish because the accompanying forbidden rice & rock shrimp risotto intrigued me. Hubs ordered the beef tenderloin. My in-laws ordered the pork chop and lamb loin. A man walks over to offer individual options for bread--raisin, focaccia, and two others that don't come to mind. The bread was good, but awkward that we were given a piece of bread each and he never returns. Our crab cake to share, which was delicious, with a mild cocktail like sauce at the base. We waited a long time for the entrees to arrive. We were finished with the appetizers long before and the entrees didn't arrive until 7:15 or so. Hubs finished his beer before the food came. The waitress apologize as she said the kitchen was backed up by two larger groups, but the restaurant wasn't packed. During that time she didn't even offered to send the bread back to our table. Boo. Food comes and it was amazing. The swordfish and risotto were cooked perfectly. The flavors of the risotto was savory and the pieces of shrimp very noticeable and delicious. I did find that there was too much salt and olive oil that took away from the food. I had a bite of Hub's beef tenderloin and gnocchi. The beef was tender and flavorful and the goat cheese complemented it well. The gnocchi was more pan fried and had a nice crunch to it. My mother-in-law enjoyed her lamb. She rarely eats more than half her dinner and she was almost joined the Clean Plate Club had it not been for a piece of brussel sprout and carrot. She had us try the polenta as she was in awe with the texture and flavor. It had a cornmeal taste and felt like comfort food. Yum. My father-in-law had the pork chop and we were in awe with the lovely presentation. It was hearty and he enjoyed it. For dessert, Hubs and I shared the warm chocolate cake. The hard later of chocolate on top made it difficult to eat. With the entrees so sizeable, the dessert was disappointingly small. Not a bad thing if you're trying not to over indulge after dinner. The food is legitimately good. It's expensive, but factoring in the size of the entree, it was well worth it. The service was average. It was a long wait for the food, with several awkward incidents during our experience. read more

We went here for a special celebration and were very pleased by our service and how it all turned out! Nice atmosphere with great staff. I loved their brunch compilation: for $35 you get a drink, an appetizer, and an entree! The oysters were great and I loved their unique sauces. Their eggs Benedict was also fabulous. Their bloody Mary's were huge and had a great spice to them. I would definitely return! read more

Really cute restaurant and atmosphere, but I was expecting a lot more for the price we paid. We came here for brunch, but the only thing that was great was the pastries. The omelet was bland; I'm honestly not sure if it was seasoned at all. They also don't have almond milk or any type of alternative milk for people with lactose allergies. That was surprising to me because I've had brunch all over Pittsburgh and this was the only place that doesn't have it. read more

I'm a sucker for a restaurant that makes a point to use local produce. If you can, I recommend getting a spot on the top floor which has a better ambiance than the first floor. Although the food was delicious, the cocktails were only okay and we felt like we didn't get a ton of attention from the wait staff. It took us forever to put in our first drink order and a lot of time lapsed between when we got our food and could ask for the check. read more

Meh...I wish it lived up to it's reputation and price point. When something is a bit expensive I have higher expectations. I've been twice now, neither were awesome, both were kind of bland. Eleven is a consistently great experience. We were originally introduced to Eleven as my husband's company is in close proximity and was (pre-pandemic) frequently utilized for holiday parties, business luncheons, etc. The following summarization and photographs are be based on my first visit to Eleven. Of course, we opted for reservations and were seated promptly and on time... Something I love. The overall ambience was professional, relaxing, serene, and reeked of an upper-class experience. Our friendly and hospitable server quickly arrived at our table, asked us about previous visits, provided the nightly specials eloquently and in detail, and took our drink order. Cocktails arrived swiftly and were wonderful! The perfect balanced of boozy and tasty. We were also delivered a phenomenal bread basked that include a caraway and cherry bread that I regularly reflect on. That combination of flavors is a match made in foodie heaven. I chose for a starter a delightful mushroom bisque. Had it been appropriate, I'd have licked the bowl. I believe this was a special or perhaps just seasonal, but I would return just for this item alone! On to entrees - My husband chose a delicious steak (prepared perfectly) with both cauliflower and Gruyere hash brown accompaniments. I chose the pork chop smothered in an apple and mustard concoction. Sweet, stick, acidic - all the things. The side of brussels was roasted to perfection and the perfect companion. We rounded out this experience with a couple of desserts that only added to this overall  lovely dining experience. Summary: Romantic ambience Fantastic menu across the board Accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly staff Clearly managed well. read more

Went last weekend for a graduation celebration from Pitt. Sat in the bar and ordered appetizers and drinks before going to the table for dinner. We ordered calamari and cheese curds. The calamari was fried beyond recognition and the cheese curds were more like mozzarella balls. Would not order those two items again. The steaks we ordered were perfect. The waitstaff, although very nice, disappeared after serving our food. Would have liked another glass of wine but never heard from her until we were finished with our food. We had informed the host that we were celebrating and they let us know a dessert would be brought out. Never saw it or did the waitstaff mention it. Not sure for the price we will be back read more

I love it here for brunch so much!!!! Parking: valet, the lot across the street (price can range depending on if there are events or not) garage on the block behind is a flat $6 on weekends Tip: sign up for the big burrito group mailings to get a packet of coupons in the winter AND to get one for $30 off an entree on your birthday! Reservations: highly recommended. Use opentable and earn points towards dining certificates Brunch is a prix fixe menu with a cocktail or juice, starter and entree. I had an insanely delicious and spicy Bloody Mary to sip/chug during my meal. A complementary basket of mini muffins and croissants was brought out with some hibiscus jam and apple cinnamon butter. For the starter, I went with the deconstructed salmon everything bagel. Scallion cream cheese, diced egg, red onion and capers were available to smear on a perfectly toasted everything bagel. I had the prosciutto onion and cheddar omelette with fingerling potatoes and a side of bacon for my entree. The potatoes and bacon were crispy and perfect! The omelette didn't have as much prosciutto as I would like but it was so flavorful and filling! Head to the bar for some post brunch cockstails and ask for Brian! Update: Finally got down here for dinner: HH: 4-6 $7 drinks and bar snacks We shared the calamari that has this spicy sauce and the crispy fingerling potatoes with cheese curds. Both were fried to perfection, not over done at all. The calamari wasn't chewy at all and the cheese curds were gooey. And holy moly that garlic aioli! I had the mushroom and onion soup as well. It came with a pea pesto that was out of this world. I shamelessly licked the bowl clean using a piece of the house made focaccia bread. My entree was the medium cooked hanger steak topped with flaked sea salt. It came with a potato croquette and some roasted cauliflower. Had to get dessert of course so I went with the dark chocolate cake! read more

I flew into town for a work event and stayed at the hotel next door. The food and alcoholic drinks were delicious. I had great bartenders at the bar on my first night and an excellent waitress on the second. I've dined at Eleven once before for a birthday dinner serval years ago, and I remember it being delicious and lovely! This review is not for the full restaurant but for the "tavern." Last night, before the History Uncorked bash next door, my friends and I stopped at the bar at Eleven for drinks and some food. Luckily, we somehow snagged three seats and were able to order drinks and apps. I enjoyed the Casa Margarita, though it was a little sweeter than what I prefer for a margarita. I tried the Burrata from the tavern menu as a bite to eat and it was LOVELY. It's a little awkward of an app to eat at the bar, as it's kind of messy and probably works better at a table setting, but it tasted fresh and bright and I would definitely recommend it. I tried a few bites of the poutine-ish app and it was also very tasty! The bar itself is a little small and angled in an odd way (in my opinion), and it was pretty uncomfortably crowded (no fault of Eleven's), and I wish it had some more seating options. That being said, it inspired me to want to dine in their sit down restaurant again VERY soon! read more

My fiancé and I went to Eleven for New Years Eve and tried their tasting menu which was made up of 4 courses. There was 3-4 options under each course that we could select from. I went with tuna, scallops, halibut, and candy bar dessert and my fiancé selected the veal pierogis, onion tart, ricotta cavatelli, and apple dessert. Everything was delicious! Went here with a client for dinner. We opted to do the spring tasting menu. It did not disappoint. It was the first day of spring with the snow coming down but that menu was a bright spot. First course - Spring vegetables / Peas, , radish, pickled cipollini, marinated burrata, Prosciutto, pea tendril puree, sea salt focaccia, parmesan, Meyer lemon & pink peppercorn vinaigrette. So fresh and bright, it was my favorite dish of the menu. Second course - Ricotta cavatelli / fava bean, pistachio, mint, rabbit sausage, goat cheese. This was ON POINT! Third course - Sea scallops / carrot puree, roasted carrots, black barley, Aleppo pepper oil, crispy caper. Great texture and flavor but I do not enjoy scallops. Fourth course - Elysian Fields Farm Lamb /white asparagus, english peas, morel mushrooms, spring onion, salsa Verde, crispy garlic. There was a heavy hand on the salt on this dish, but that is the only complaint. Dessert - Strawberry Shortcake. My client loved this! For me, it was too sweet but this is not a dessert that i would order if I was given a choice. I would roll with my client's reaction on this one. Overall, an excellent spot. Gorgeous interior. great cocktails offerings, and wine list, including wines by the glass. The Tempranillo was delicious! Would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for the hospitality. read more

I always try to make my way to Eleven during my visits to Pittsburgh. On this trip, I ordered the cheese platter (very good), beet salad (very good), apple salad (not great), ravioli with duck confit (weird sauce, duck was dry, will NOT order again), NYStrip (very good), and Candy bar dessert (best part of the meal). Hopefully, the menu will be a bit different upon my next return. This winter menu was not my favorite. read more

Five stars! Seasonal menus and an impressive wine list! The ambiance is spectacular and inviting. The plating takes center stage and your tastebuds will line up to savor the flavor of the culinary experience. Our favorites are the Brunch and the Cheese Plates - always the most perfect bites! On the current menu we love the salmon and the seafood tasting plate, the Gerber Farms chicken (will take you back to Sunday evening dinner at Grandma's), the jumbo lump crab cake, and of course, the braised short rib. The staff could not do more for you! Knowledgeable, and helpful with suggestions for substitutes and descriptions of how the food is prepared. Always a perfect experience! Go soon! read more

This restaurant is nothing short of amazing! We arrived at 4:15, and we weren't aware that the dinner menu wouldn't be available until 5 pm; but, Brian was so helpful. He understood that we were short on time (had to catch a flight), so he allowed us to review the dinner menu, and he put our order in exactly at 5 pm! Drinks: I ordered the Kentucky Sunset - a mixture of bourbon, cherry liqueur, hops (and another ingredient). It was delish! Felt niiccceee. Food: I had the Virginian oysters and oysters from Massachusetts. The Virginian oysters were very bland; not briny at all. However, the oysters from Massachusetts were very tasty. I loved the briny, mineral taste. The Virginian oysters were on the happy hour menu and the Massachusetts oysters were only offered full price. I also had the Swordfish. It was served grilled and with forbidden rice and shrimp risotto. I rarely finish an entrée, but this was so good that I had to finish it! The swordfish had a great sear to it. The forbidden rice was seasoned well. It was simply a well-executed dish. Eleven will definitely be on my return list if I ever visited Pittsburgh again. The restaurant has a very chic and classy feel to it. Great for happy hour, dinner with the girls or date night. read more

My partner and I came for valentine's day weekend without a reservation and i think it threw our waiter off because he was VERY inconsistent all night--got our appetizers before we received silverware. the calamari was amazing and my partner ordered the swordfish, which was wayyyyy too citrusy and just overall not great. i got the braised short rib which we both recommend instead! i think that if we had made a reservation then our waiter may have had an easier time serving us, but i cannot give them a five star because we did have to ask more than once for our waiter to come back so we could order. overall fancy atmosphere and recommend if you want an expensive bite after work or need a drink with a friend! read more

First off let me say I took away a star not based on the food, but on the basis that I felt there was an immediate assumption from my server that I perhaps couldn't afford to eat here or was just maybe taking a peek at the menu & going to leave. My review is based on Sunday brunch in the bar/tavern, not the main restaurant. And I had been to Eleven many years ago for a private event so I did know it was an upscale, expensive foodie & special occasion restaurant. However, I had attended a Yelp Elite event in the Strip that morning & then walked to & from the Arts Fest downtown & decided I was hungry. I did wonder if yoga attire was even allowed, but there were several seats at the bar so I took one. I noticed that after 3 other parties were seated at the bar they were given water immediately and greeted more enthusiastically & asked "Hello, how are you today, are you joining us for brunch?" Meanwhile I was greeted with "what can I do for you?" I had to ask for water (twice) & a cocktail menu and brunch menu. Then there immediately was a miscommunication regarding the cocktail I wanted which gave me the impression the server was very annoyed at me, since I received a curt "do you understand?" And actually I finally did, but I was definitely taken aback by the tone. He became much nicer after this, after I explained I did understand (but obviously did not initially). I loved the food. The flavors were exquisite. He recommended the duck app & he was spot on. I even ordered a second cocktail. I even tipped him 20%, where others may have cut it to 15%. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. But I listened carefully afterwards to the interactions with the well dressed patrons & I just felt my treatment was lesser. Note to self: do not eat brunch at Eleven with your hair up, no make up, in yoga clothes. Having said my piece, I do very much recommend their prix fixe Sunday brunch, $35 for an appetizer, entree & "brunch" cocktail (not just any cocktail). I would definitely go there again, well dressed. read more

I lived in Pittsburgh for years, moving from the beautiful city about 7 years ago. I love the Big Burrito restaurants I had been to in the past, but I never made my way to Eleven. My girlfriend and I were in town visiting, so I decided to take the opportunity to make reservations. Located right by the Strip District, the interior is very contemporary and sets the mood for a romantic night out. The tables were separated to be respectfully socially distanced. Our server was friendly and attentive and always seemed to be right on cue when my girlfriend's wine glass was empty. As for the food, there is a variety of bread served to start - all clearly fresh baked and amazing. Had to give myself the old, "don't fill yourself of bread before your meal comes out" talk. We started with the tuna tartar. It was delicious and unique from others I had in the past - much creamier. I had the sword fish for my main entree and it was done perfectly. The forbidden rice with shrimp that accompanied it went perfectly with the dish. I haven't had sword fish of this caliper since being fortunate enough to have it in Sicily. I was thoroughly impressed. Cheers to Big Burrito and another amazing restaurant experience in Pittsburgh. The bill for drinks, an app, and two main courses was under $110 - not bad at all. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a nice night out. read more

Have been wanting to try Eleven for a while now! Came here for Sunday brunch. They do a prix fixe menu of a drink, appetizer, and entree. I had the fig beignets to start with and they were delicious! My friend had the smoked salmon and the quantity & quality of the salmon was great! For my entree, I had the eggs benedict. I was hoping for more of a truffle flavor but the hollandaise was perfect.
