Unfortunately, we have had a lot of difficulties with our Samsung washer and dryer and have had to have both repaired, several times, over the past 4-5 years. A few months ago, Greentek repaired our dryer, and most recently, they came out to assess a persistent annoying problem we've had with our washer. Greentek advised us the cost to repair the washer was higher than what we wanted to pay. (The amount of the repair and the amount we put into repairing it in the past was going to exceed the cost of a new washer.) So, we declined to have Greentek repair the washer and decided to buy a new washer. (Not a Samsung!) Both experiences were positive and we have no complaints with Greentek. They are prompt, professional, offer reasonable prices and do everything as agreed. Call them.

From my initial interaction with the office representatives (Taylor, Dave Sr., and Dave Jr.) to the technicians who came out to my home (Nick, Jackie, and John Paul), the level of professionalism and care was outstanding. The team provided an in-depth assessment and diagnostic of all identified issues. Just as importantly, they took the time to clearly explain areas that were not a concern and documented a thorough review outlining why those aspects of the home were in good condition, information that will be extremely valuable for future home inspections or potential buyers. Each team member was knowledgeable, responsive, and thorough in addressing my concerns, making what could have been a stressful situation feel manageable and well-handled. When people speak of organizations that deliver top-tier service, this is exactly the kind of company they mean. AirCo has earned my trust and will be my first call for any future needs.

We did not purchase an entire new AC system/compressor/furnace with Jon Paul M. for the following…read morereasons: 1. He charged $675 to fill coolant and run a leakage test when he knew there was a 90% chance beforehand my evaporator coil was leaking and it would not be worth replacing the evaporator coil for $4500. He only offered a $675 credit towards a new system after I complained. 2. When I texted him a question about the new system quotes last year, he ghosted. Yet he emailed me four days later asking if I was ready to purchase a $17k system. Four days to decide on a $17k system without answering questions or receive other bids is not enough time. He cares more about making the commission than answering questions. 3. Jon Paul kept pushing the top of the line variable Daikin for $17k. Yet Shields AC & Heating in Lockhart said the DH7VSA compressor has a lot of firmware and software bugs communicating with the thermostat. Shields said it's not worth all the rebates and incentives. 4. Airco only offers a three year labor warranty through Airco. Yet they do not tell you that Daikin and Goodman offer an extended ten year labor warranty through Asure for $850. Daikin owns Goodman. 5. Jon Paul's quote did not include new return and supply plenum, unless he didn't specify. He only mentioned spraying the existing supply plenum with mold killer. 6. Jon Paul did not suggest moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic to reduce static pressure. Three other companies suggested moving the entire system. 7. When I asked Jon Paul what the difference was between the $17k variable Daikin and $15k variable Daikin, his response was, "More features and stuff." I need someone more articulate. 8. Jon Paul did not run a Manual J test. Ultimately, we ended up paying $12.1k with Jurnee Mechanical for a variable Goodman GXV6S condenser which included new return and supply plenum, moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic, 10 year extended labor warranty through Trinity, free maintenance for two years, and Reme Halo UV light.

They arrived on a cool day and checked the heating but couldn't do the cooling because of the low outside temperature. I asked them to write up what they could & issue the report. They convinced me to wait a week for the cooling check & would do it for the same price. I was amazed and impressed that an HVAC company would make two trips for $150 but agreed. They returned on a warmer day and said the system needed a new capacitor and 2 pounds of coolant. The coolant was a big surprise to me. Closing date for the house sale was looming and I either had to pay the high price or begin an emergency call with another company. I opted to pay for the coolant. The tech went to retrieve a canister from the van. I went inside the house. But because of my unease I went to the outside unit about 3 minutes later. He startled when he saw me. The canister was not connected. He nervously claimed to have completed the refrigerant addition, and offered a $50 discount. I don't believe any coolant was added, based on the length of time required by other HVAC techs I've seen do that operation over past decades. Trapped, I played along and paid over $500.

My pets need vet attention, and we have to evacuate the home. Kevin, a manager at this awful company, hung up on me after he told me there's nothing they will do to help clean up this environmental disaster. My feet are bleeding from stepping on glass fibers when I walk through my house! They made our house uninhabitable and DO NOT CARE. Let me say that again: my pets need vet attention, the humans need urgent care attention, and we cannot return to our home, all thanks to A-US A/C. These people are negligent and DO NOT CARE. They also had a child working in my house, on my a/c, with the tech. A child should not be allowed to work on air conditioning units. They carried old fiberglass through my house and left it on my front porch. It's an absolute nightmare and I'm worried my pets are going to die from ingesting glass.

Their "technician" showed up with zero respect, zero professionalism, and a mouth that just wouldn't quit. Right in my home, he actually said -- word for word -- that "only poor people" get homeowners insurance, as if using the insurance you pay for is something to be ashamed of. He then called my landlord "cheap" for not wanting to replace the AC out of pocket, even though the unit was completely repairable. When I very respectfully explained to him that calling the client -- my landlord -- "cheap" was not professional or respectful, he instantly backtracked and denied he said it, all while wearing a smug, scumbag smirk that told me exactly what he was really thinking. Instead of focusing on fixing the AC, he seemed more interested in running his mouth, acting like some financial guru, while working for a company with a 1.7-star rating and almost 300 negative reviews. The arrogance was unreal. The only thing cheaper than the patch job they did was the technician's attitude. This is not a legitimate service business -- it's a traveling sideshow of underqualified loudmouths who insult customers, badmouth landlords, and do the bare minimum to avoid replacing anything. If there were a Yelp category for "companies to avoid at all costs," this one would be the cover photo. Avoid them like the plague -- because your comfort, your money, and your dignity depend on it.

Sorry for the long review...but please read on to hear my horror story with this sorry excuse of a company. I don't normally write reviews (good or bad), but my poor experience with this company cannot go unheard. I feel obligated to warn others of their frankly criminal business practices. I originally called them out to take a look at my old HVAC that was no longer producing cold air. They identified the Freon was low and filled it back up. Worked well for a bit, but then got low again...indicating their was a leak in the system. The unit was so old, we decided to replace the unit instead of fixing it. The new unit was installed, but not without issue. I chose what they described as their go-to brand - American Standard. Apparently their technicians do not know how to install their go-to brand, because it took several days and several different technicians to get the install completed. A year later, the unit began tripping the breaker any time it went to the 2nd stage. Took them 3 days to come out (when approaching triple digit temperatures), charged $150 service fee and $450 in parts and labor to add a capacitor to the setup (a $50 part and about 10 minutes of labor). Did not fix the problem. Tech came out again, and said it seemed to be an issue with the breaker and that I needed to call an electrician to diagnose and solve the problem. Ended up paying $300 for an electrician to come out. When he took a look at the install, he was flabbergasted. He could not believe what he was seeing! He identified the unit was installed on an aluminum electrical line, that was severely undersized for the unit installed. He said no respectable company would EVER do this kind of shotty work. He said replacing the electrical line would likely cost a couple thousand dollars, since it was on the other side of the house. When I called Smart Air to let them know of the situation, the dispatcher was very dismissive. She said she would have their lead install tech follow up with me, but of course I never heard anything back... That is when they went dark despite several additional attempts on my part, and broke communication with me entirely. I ended up having to pay an electrician to run the new line on my own dollar - several thousand dollars - and now I'm finally back up and running.
