Advanced A/C did awesome job. My heating went out and I called them. They initially said the tech would be between 2-5pm. They then called to say the tech could come sooner and I missed the call! Called them back and hour later and still was able to get the tech early. Great customer service from Paige!! Justin the tech arrived and within 5 minutes he identified the problem and solution. He throughly explained everything and showed me the DAT was broken. He was able to replace and fix the system within 30 minutes. He was full of knowledge concerning HVAC with lots of tips and information about my system. He even invited me to take a look in the attic and explained some of the features. "Your technician came out on a Sunday afternoon for your no cool issue and the diagnostics performed were needed to figure out exactly what was needed to repair your system. We do this to ensure that all issues are being addressed based on our extensive screenings, in your case we did need to send the comfort advisor out to your home to provide you with a realistic estimate based on the amount of work needed and due to the unique build of your older Austin home." Response: That is your process, but it is sub-optimal. Many other AC companies will provide a quote with a technician onsite or even just providing enough info via email. Your comfort specialist are salesman by another name and very unnecessary. "Your technician stated in the job summary that the pound of refrigerant was added in an attempt to see if the unit was low and not a restriction. Suction pressure went up, indicating there was no restriction and the unit likely had a leak. Upon completing the leak search, a large leak was found on the indoor coil. The technician also stated that the unit is still running but will struggle and there was likely only a day or two before refrigerant ran out." Response: He did not have to add refrigerant in order to do a leak test. It is cheaper and less damaging to the environment to use Nitrogen to test for leaks. The refrigerant did not take a day or two to leak out, it escaped immediately, despite his claim it would last "a day or two." Also I believe he knew the refrigerant was low from the very beginning when he applied his gauges, the only question was why it was low and his theory was the coil was the most likely culprit. "We did not recommend adding the refrigerant to cool down your home, it was used for diagnostic purposes as the leak was unknown at that time." Response: Again, Nitrogen or another cheaper, less harmful material should have been used. Again, he claimed it would cool down the home for "a day or two" as long as it was kept on and pressurized. "The following day our comfort advisor came out to give you a quote for the replacement and offered you cooling options to hold you over until the unit was replaced, should you have signed off on the estimate. In terms of your estimate, your coil was on the opposite side of your furnace and your return plenum. The entire system had to have been installed and the return plenum built up whilst in the attic. In order to replace your coil, we would have to disassemble the plenum and move the furnace over so that we could remove the previous coil and replace it. From there, the furnace would have to be moved back into it's original position and the plenum would have to be reassembled. It is a labor intensive project and we want to ensure we are creating a safe work environment for our crew." Response: If you think all that was required to remove the coil while leaving the rest of the system intact you should contact New Generation Air out of Manor, Tx. They were able to remove the coil in forty minutes without cutting it into pieces or otherwise making it into a larger job than was necessary. They finished the job by noon, so no doomsday scenarios of an all day job as presented by your comfort specialists and for less money. read more

Friday evening our A/C unit died. Saturday morning is spent trying to find weekend service. I called Advanced Air Conditioning & Heating and gave all my info to the dispatch & within an hour a tech called & he could come out in a few hours & that the weekend service fee would be $169 Communication is awesome! The tech called when he was on his way & I received a text with his name & photo. Coel was wonderful & had all the needed parts, motor, capacitor & coolant to get our unit running perfectly. They gave us a price of 1700 dollars to replace a fan motor and the estimate did not break down anything. Also not able to fix until Thursday(3 days from now) after already not having any AC for 2 days. I'm pretty sure it was a push to get us to replace the whole unit for 7k+ which is also ridiculous pricing. When I called they told they arent able to break down parts and labor due to "algorithms ", I know for a fact the motor itself is about 300 dollars. The man was rude and condescending, told me not fixing it would cost me 0 dollars. This place will happily rip you off because they know you need your AC in Texas. If you need something fixed, so yourself a favor and skip this price gouging company. Update, called another place, they came out and fixed it on the spot for 1000 in under an hour. We had an issue where half of the house got warm and the AC just kept running all day. The other half was trying to compensate so my electricity was being wasted. Why does it seem like ACs go out on a Friday night? I called Advanced on Saturday morning and had an appointment scheduled for 3pm later that day. My house was 83°!!! They called back a couple hours after setting the appointment asking if they could arrive EARLIER than the appointment time. WHA?!?!? Well God Bless Texas and God bless this company for showing up earlier than expected! They texted a photo of the tech arriving. He was courteous, professional and explained his process and diagnosis so I understood the cost and time involved with my repair. Joe came over on time ( actually early) for his estimate. He had done research on the property to find out the age of the home, square feet, etc. He listened to every question and concern that I had. We talked about the scope of work involved and that his plan was. I recall when he left, feeling a sense of confidence and I even told my wife - "I know if he were to do the work, everything would be done right". So our upstairs AC was acting up, and the darling Hubby randomly picked a company to come check it out, without checking with me to do my due diligence by scouring the Yelp reviews! They rolled up the next day, and, while our initial technician was SUPER-sweet, the quote from the quoting technician who came later that night was wildly ridiculous (several thousand dollars!), and it all felt a bit sketchy and unnecessary to me! We apparently needed new...well, everything! We have two Trane units that are exactly the same age, so it didn't seem right that one had fallen completely apart, while the other was fine, but I'm certainly no expert! We clearly needed a second opinion, so I took over and picked Advanced AC, due to their stellar reviews here, and their incredibly excellent technician, Bruce, just left! Guess what, y'all? It just needed to be blown out! The drain was clogged! That's it! It was a twenty minute fix, and it cost us $115 with a 30 day warranty! How ultra shady-mcshady is that other company in light of this??? Yuck! Advanced AC is SO professional, SO honest, and SO legitimate, and it's SOOOOOO extra-awesome and life-affirming to find that kind of integrity! I simply could NOT recommend them more to y'all! Truly! The tech, Justin, was able to quickly identify the issue with my new thermostat. This issue was resolved very quickly by adjusting the wiring. Then Justin wanted to confirm everything was working. He ran a few tests inside / outside the house replacing any parts, but explained the reasoning 'why' before making any changes. Had an awesome experience with Advanced Air Conditioning! We realized our interior AC unit was leaking all over the floor on the Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. Joe was able to come out at 10 AM the next day and found a clog in the condensation drain, complicated by a couple of other issues. He gave me a clear explanation of what it would cost to fix it and then had everything fixed within an hour! I have an older house built in the 1950's that didn't have ac or heat. In 2002 the owner at the time installed a system. However the system was a little small for the house and the add-on living room didn't have a vent. Joe at Advanced Air Conditioning suggested installing a 1-1/2 ton mini split in the back room. He said it was about ten times more efficient then my current unit. It would cool or hear the back room very well and lessen the burden of the main unit. The install was quick and timely. I have to mention that he showed up with everything needed at the exact time he said he would. That's a huge plus in my book. In addition he looked over my current system and made sure everything in good working condition. I highly recommend Joe at Advanced Air Conditioning. My A/C unit in my home was running great. I wanted to keep it that way so I asked Advanced Air to give my unit a tuneup. A day later my unit stopped operating, (just a coincidence or a way to get more money?)I called to have my unit checked in the evening and they told me the technician told me he couldn't come out. He knew they just worked on my unit and was not about to get more money out of me. So he made up a bogus excuse not to come out. Totally incompetent and unprofessional business. I am giving them 2 stars because they came out same day and were polite. Other than that though, it was a complete waste of a $70 service fee. They diagnosed our ac as having a broken capacitor and clogged fan filter. They quoted around $1200 for the job....doesn't sound bad until I price checked 2 other companies with 5 star reviews and they were half the cost. They charge astronomical fees and oh the capacitor is a $15 part and a quick job. Save money and go elsewhere as they will taken advantage of your hard earned money. read more

Our Ac went on the blitz and we got one quote from an AC company and we got a quote from Advanced. The guy came out and he was really nice, told us that the TXV need to be replaced but also thought a new coil was needed. The other company said for sure it was the TXV line never said anything about the coil. We said we really would like a quote for the TXV and one for both the TXV and coil. The guy called his boss and basically was told that he did not want to give a quote for just the TXV because the coil needed replacing as well and didn't want to have to come back out for another call on the coil. So basically he was trying to extort money for something that we may or may not need and it didn't matter what we thought. I would not believe what this place tells you about what you need for an AC unit as they want to tack on extras. Gonna go with another company....the only reason they got two stars is because the guy that came out was super nice. read more

I wish I did not need these people but I'm so glad they are here when we do. Our AC was failing to cool late in the day yet they were able to get Joe out the same evening to see us. He and his assistant were able to analyze the the problem (a failed circuit board) and were able to come up with a temp solution to keep it working for the evening.
