This is a family owned business. In an industry that doesn't always feel honest, both Carl and Callie come across as genuinely sincere, genuinely helpful, and they have never seemed to be just out for a buck. Quite the opposite, they have proactively given us tips that no one else had ever offered us (and we have always had yearly AC tune ups) to keep our AC units running longer. We appreciate this and respect them and their business. Just good, honest people. read more

Fast service, Carl took the time to answer all my questions and was very friendly too!

A lot of folks slapping down five stars here and the few that didn't have nothing to do with Carl's workmanship. I was looking to replace my entire AC system which is why it's important to find the best in the business and rated the best. It's also important to find more than one 5* business so you can get a better picture and quotes for such an expensive endeavor which I found helpful. If you're going to go all the way with such an expense, it's best to educate yourself as much as possible, and there's lots of YouTube videos on AC repair and replacement which you should watch prior to making that decision. You really need to be an informed and educated customer or you might find yourself with an inferior or wrong system. I found that certain AC companies want the steer you to certain brands they represent, so you may wish to decide on a brand first. I found that the Carrier Infiniti system with its very high seer rating and variable speed was the perfect choice. More details on this system in the photos below. If you live in a two-story house like mine, you can expect the price to be much greater due to the fact that you have dampeners which will need to be fixed or replaced which greatly adds to the bill. As for my AC, it was over 20 years old, but still chugging along. However, I knew there was going to be new mandates in 2025 which would greatly add to the expense of AC replacement such as a new refrigerant which is slightly flammable called Puranovance. I replaced my old R22 compressor with the new R-410a which is still readily available, but will eventually be phased out many years from now. I also mistakenly thought you'd get a good deal by replacing it during the cool months, but apparently a lot of people were doing what I was doing so no break in the price. As a matter fact, the date of manufacture of my new Infiniti compressor was only just a couple weeks old before it was installed. After some back-and-forth on pricing, we finally decided on a date of installation. Carl and his crew showed up and had everything installed within six hours and hauled off the old units. We still needed some troubleshooting in order to dial-in the thermostats functioning properly, but everything works perfectly now and the temperature remains exactly as you set it throughout the house. Both the compressor and the blower motor are incredibly quiet. Since I knew I needed this replacement at some point, I had enough money in the bank to cut a check for the job. When you sign up for Carl's service, you get Carl in the equation. Check out the photos below which show you the equipment, specs and the pricing. Update: After 2 weeks the plenum did separate, but I was able to use foil tape to close up the 8" gap. Personally, I think a 30 day check up would be a good idea not just for Carl, but anyone who gets this kind of installation from whatever company you choose. read more

Wanted to give a good review to great family business. We have been a customer for four years. They are always prompt to respond they are knowledgeable and very price conscious The last call out was early Saturday morning when we woke up to a hot house. Fast response time, caring personable people, reasonable pricing, they earned that 4.9 out of 122 reviews. Hire them, you won't go wrong. They diagnosed the problem in just a few minutes, had the parts on hand, were funny and personable, handled everything for us in and out in under 30 minutes. Fortunately for us, it was only a capacitor. (Your AC/Heating Issue may vary, but they will handle it with professionalism and grace.) They cleaned everything too, left things better than they found it, all is well. Nice guys who can tell funny stories too. The cool air is blowing in now and the house is returning to normal. I hope yours does too. Call Carl, he'll get it done quick and with a smile. read more

Great service from start to finish. Fair, straightforward pricing and solid execution. I'll use Carl's heating and Air moving forward.

Carl has taken care of my system since 2018 and I only trust him. My AC recently stopped working as well, at first he thought it was the coils froze, but he kept working to find it was actually just a valve. Saving me lots of money. Hes the only person I trust. read more

This review is long overdue. During this years cold spell/big freeze. Our heater went out. We had one company spend 8 hours in our attic trying to fix it. They came down at the end of the day (Friday, when it was suppose to be freezing or below the rest of the weekend) and said they couldn't fix it and we needed to call the gas company. They also made the comment that they didn't want to keep trying because it might blow the house up (!!!). It was too late in the day for the gas company to do anything, so we started searching for second opinions. We reached Carl's and though he was not able to come out that day, we walked us through how to troubleshoot the issue over the phone, which I consider going above and beyond in extreme circumstances. He was very reassuring and provided expertise that made us feel confident that our house wasn't going to explode, lol. Carl and his team came out the next week and fixed the issue in just an hour or so. They were efficient, professional, and their prices were very competitive. Carl's will be our first call if/when needed in the future. Highly recommend! read more

Carl's is the best! They have been servicing our a/c for years, but really went above-and-beyond expectations tonight. We texted Carl at 7:15pm and now it's 8:10 and they have already come out and fixed the problem at no charge! Definitely this is the company to call for a/c issues in and around the Pflugerville/Hutto area!!! read more

Fast, knowledgeable, helpful, professional, Friendly, courteous. Gave tips on keeping drain line clear.

My heater quit working in the recent cold snap. They came when they said they would - and a simple cleaning of the system got me working again. I appreciate their punctuality and professionalism. read more

I called them because I had been having extremely loud noise coming from my outdoor a/c condenser for several YEARS. I'd had it assessed by another HVAC company who said it was fine there was nothing wrong. I called Carl's Heating and Air really to get pricing for a new condenser (mind you, for a 4 year old home!) The young woman who came over listened to the problem, then said her grandfather had a similar problem. She did something quickly that immediately decreased the extremely loud noise to normal, and that was to tighten one screw on the top of the unit. I was delighted, and told her so! And she didn't charge me the service call fee. I will definitely use this local company again. read more

Carl is not just a heating and air repair service - he's a heating air repair experience! If you want someone who knows their stuff, will educate you and help you figure out how to troubleshoot some of the issues on your own, and give you some enjoyable and fun conversation, Carl is your guy! I called Carl in a panic at 5:15 pm when the heater stopped working at our AirBNb property and he was at the house within 45 minutes. He got us up and running again very quickly and helped me understand our system and what I could do in the future to figure out if the heat pump is running or not. I highly recommend Carl and will definitely be calling him in the future for our AC and heating issues. read more

Carl is the most honest and knowledgeable AC service man I have ever met. While most of big service companies have focused on their bottom line, Carl focuses on customer satisfaction and cost saving for customers. His honesty, courtesy, and especially retiring from the Army deserves to be recognized. Tom Vu read more

Very helpful. After calling two different companies to come check it out and being quoted at $10,000, Carl and his daughter came out and repaired the AC super fast and helped us understand how to maintain it all for $300. Great customer service and saved us during the summer read more

One of our pair of A/C's stopped working on Saturday here in the heart of Texas in hotter than normal Summer and after a few text messages I had an appointment for Monday 11am. They came, they fixed and even washed my external units! Great courteous, professional and efficient service that I have enjoyed on a few times we needed them in our 18 years in Pflugerville. I can't recommend Carl enough as he and his daughter team deserves! read more

Called Carl's because my outside unit was not working. 1/2 hour later it was up and running. I highly recommend him. read more

After seeing Carl's good reviews on yelp I decided to ask for a quote to replace my 2 AC units. Carl responded and said it would be $98 to look at the unit. I thought maybe he was thinking I was asking for repair estimate so I asked if it was $100 for a quote. He came back saying he doesn't work for free and he was sorry I work for free. Not sure what provoked him to say this as I never once asked him to work for free. This is not the type of attitude I was expecting when I was considering giving them my business. read more

Carl's Heating and Air - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me

I can't recommend this small business enough! I reached out to them on a Friday afternoon when my a/c wasn't working, and Callie responded promptly and let me know she would be able to fit in a service within the hour. She came and immediately diagnosed the problem--and fixed it within the hour! Completely professional, friendly, informative on what she was doing and why, and most importantly honest! The service was affordable and she didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Highly recommend! read more

Carl and his daughter know A/C's. They quickly educated me and my husband on how to maintain my A/C. They replaced a bad part and boosted the Freon, which we were extremely low on. read more

Super friendly, and worked hard to not only solve the problem, but teach me how to diagnose and prevent the problem in the future.

Contacted Carl one evening due to crazy squealing noises coming from the furnace. Him and his daughter where able to come out the next day and fixed the blower. While he was there looked at the rest of the system and was very transparent about what was needed now, and what can wait. No pressure to pay for things I don't need, which is always my worry when having repair people come out. Will be calling them again for any service or to purchase a new system (hopefully that time doesn't come too soon. LOL) Great job, highly recommended! read more

Splendid work ethics, highly knowledgeable team and outstandingly professional service. I would highly recommend Carl' Heating and Air. Don't hesitate to call them if you want your system to get fixed right. read more

Carl and Callie were awesome. They were able to squeeze me in and fix my issue in about an hour. I was able to have my AC working after being stuck without it over the hot weekend. The price was very fair and I was relieved when they discussed repair options with me beforehand instead of just working on the unit and handing me a bill. Highly recommend this duo for AC/Heating needs!! read more

Late afternoon I felt some warm air coming out of the vent and when I put my hand up to feel the air it felt cool. I just assumed that it was hot outside so it was cooling off. Fast forward to 7pm. I lowered my a/c to 75 and went outside to work on the yard. I saw the little a/c pipe drip. I remember somebody saying if that small pipe drips there's trouble. When I came in at 9pm I saw it was 80degrees on the thermostat. Oh no!!!! I pulled up Yelp to search for somebody who could help me out. The first one to come up was Carl's A/C. I was pretty amazed to see so many positive reviews so I knew this guy would be good. I called at 9:27 pm on a Sunday to see if I can schedule an appointment and he was walking me through how to disconnect the unit since he had a feeling I could be doing more damage by leaving it on. He was very courteous and helpful. He took his time to explain what it could be doing and here is the surprise....He came out to service my a/c!!! Luckily, he had my parts on hand and was able to get it done. Let me say that not only does he take his time to explain how to maintain the a/c unit he will also tell you what to do to prevent this from happening again. He went above and beyond the call of duty. It is hard to find repair people that are reliable and honest. I definitely recommend him. He knows how to treat people! Thank you Carl! read more

Carl was very rude and hanged on me when I asked him for second opinion to check my AC unit. He did not even let me explain properly. The quote he gave me is very high which is $3200 to replace AC condenser unit and other guys who have perfect rating quote was $2400. Thanks for hanging up on me and not allowing me to explain. This guy never picks up anybody call and only wanting people to text him. read more

Whatever I say for Carl and Callie isn't enough. They are amazing. They have helping me during the winter storm and this last weekend. They are prompt and super responsive. They keep in touch with you to give you and ETA when they are coming. Initially my AC unit stopped working for a clogged drain. They immediately came out and fixed it. But the very next day it stopped working due to it being an old unit. I texted Carl late in the evening and he was there first thing the next morning to diagnose it again. I needed the unit to be changed. They kept in touch with me through the day about inventory, got one and scheduled the replacement for the very next day. They were so professional. Came in before time and cleaned up after as well. I am so glad my neighbors recommended them. They are my go to AC/heating company. You cannot go wrong. Stop researching and just call them. read more

Carl is amazing. He came out and diagnosed and corrected a strange problem with my heat pump system. When we turned on the heat, cold air would come out at first and after a few minutes, the air would be warmish. Carl figured out that when I had an airflow dampener system installed by a much bigger AC company, the downstairs thermostat was wired incorrectly such that the AC came on when we turned on the heat and the heat strips are what was warming the air. Carl also gave me great advice on fixing other small problems I could do myself. He taught me how to read the air flow dampener control panel. And yet he only charged me for 1 hour although he was here for 2. I would absolutely recommend Carl! read more
