Needed to have my heater checked out before winter, and Bluebonnet met all the criteria for a great service experience - talented, personable, honest and economical. Usually I choose a service company from Yelp reviews, but I had a good feeling from Bluebonnet's website and the fact that Jeremy grew up in the heating and air conditioning business working alongside his father. Plus I like to use local, family-owned businesses. So I ventured out and am so glad I did. For a low, fixed price, Jeremy checked out both the heater and the air conditioning. Took his time, looked it all over closely, tested a lot of things. He found some exhaust flue piping that had been done incorrectly when our house was built, and took a long time to explain to me my options, which included not having it fixed anytime soon. He said when we sold that an inspector might bring it up, but that it was not dangerous. He could have so made money by telling me it needed to be done right away - that went a long way in showing his honesty. He took the time to show me how the heater lighting sequence worked, while he had the cover off the heater and I could see it all. Showed me what to look for in the process if it ever did not want to come on and how to fix little things. But I said no thanks, I will be calling you again if anything happens! He lives in Leander but he works all over Austin. Another good thing he told me is that HVAC companies are allowed by state law to repair water heaters. I am so glad to know that I don't have to call a plumber for that, since plumbers usually charge so much. Got to say I liked the pretty bluebonnet adorned truck too. STOP! Before you read any further, 5 Stars and 10 years of service (plus many, many years experience) should tell you all you need to know.... Jeremy & Christian are the Dream Team of HVAC! Our 16 year old A/C went out in July on one of the days it was 109! After waiting all day and fighting with AHS warranty to get a repair done before their 24-48 hour rule, we called Bluebonnet on our own. They came out quickly, assessed the situation, gave a great quote to repair or replace and even to replace the furnace too (as it was also 16 years old). Jeremy did not pressure in any direction and we know he would have done a great job repairing the unit. However, we didn't want to worry about the next time and the next time...we also decided to go with a new furnace while he was replacing the A/C (seemed smarter since he was already in the middle of everything). We have been so happy on these random cold Texas days, that there is no worry about our heater working. Jeremy explained that when doing change outs on the whole system, those are the only jobs they schedule for that day. They want to take their time, do it right and not worry about having to rush through a job, to keep from being late to another appointment. The customer they are working for at that time, is their "only" customer at that time. Not rushing to fill up their day with appointments, just to get the $. Several months after the install, we heard a slight noise from the unit. We sent Jeremy a video via text and he called right away to ask about stopping by to look at it. He quickly discovered that it was a part that had rattled a little loose inside of itself. This piece came that way from the factory. He took it to his van, tightened it up, replaced it and was on his way within 20 min. I wish we found Bluebonnet earlier when we had to replace our hot water heater. This is a company I would hire over and over again, but that's not going to be needed since we replaced everything. Jeremy came out as a recommendation from a friend to look at my AC after I had Church Services come out earlier in the day. My compressor and fan outside were not working in my 16 year old unit. Here's why this guy has all 5 star ratings: Church Services spent about 10 minutes in total before declaring the unit dead. Jeremy spent 20 minutes, going to the attic first, and then check the individual wire connections. Church Services had to have someone else come out to give a quote, at 7 PM Jeremy came an hour after I called and was able to fix the issue without replacing the AC. He was also able to give me a quote on the spot. Bottom line, this guy knows his stuff. He's honest and earns business and treats customers like people. read more

I had initially called Green Air Conditioning and Heating when our blower motor went out but they were stacked with appointments (it is the end of summer in Texas after all) and recommended we call Bluebonnet HVAC instead. I gave them a call and they said they'd get to us today or tomorrow. My hopes sank a little. But they called back a few hours later and said they had the part at will call (I gave them model/serial when I called) and would be out before 6pm. At 5.30 or so, Kevin knocked on our door and had the part changed in less than an hour. Kevin was very nice and professional. The pricing was reasonable and far lower than another quote we had received from a larger HVAC company earlier in the week. A week and a half ago, I came home and smelled something burning coming from my AC vents. I called my home warranty to come out and diagnose it so I could try to replace through them. Since then, I had been going back and forth with my home warranty calling them no less than 5-10 times a day to keep things moving at even the snail's pace they were going. They finally came back and told me that the furnace/unit needed to be replaced. I was told I still had to pay an exorbitant amount out of pocket for this since some parts had to be updated to be compatible with the lower end system they wanted to install (and of course they don't cover those updates, just the replacement part). We called Bluebonnet HVAC and Jeremy came out the next morning. Within 15-20 minutes, Jeremy was able to tell me that the home warranty's HVAC contractor completely misdiagnosed the issue, which was just that the motor capacitor (I think?) had burned out, not that the whole unit needed replacing. I trusted the word of the home warranty's HVAC guy before, but once Jeremy found and showed the actual issue to me, the previous diagnosis made no sense. In the end, it cost me LESS money to replace the part with Bluebonnet than to go through my home warranty. It took 2 hours from when Jeremy showed up to when I had working air conditioner again. That includes the hour of travel time for him to go get the part, and the time for him to also do some slight rewiring on the unit to install a Nest thermostat for me while he was here. Jeremy is very deserving of a 5 star review for how quickly and efficiently he was able to get our air conditioner working again, and how knowledgeable he was. My only regret is I didn't call him sooner so we didn't have to wait a week and a half in Texas summer heat to get our air conditioner back. These guys are the best in town. This is the second time I asked them to come out because I have a 20 year old unit. Think of them as finding that perfect mechanic that tells the truth, does the job, and doesn't leave you second guessing. AC went out @ 4:50PM. They close @ 5PM. I called them expecting an appointment sometime next day or even later. I got lucky and they came over within 20 minutes. Spent 20 minutes outside, found the problem, replaced the part, fixed the AC, and left. The customer service is outstanding. Full disclosure: I have not yet had service from Bluebonnet, but my pre-service experience was so good that I had to write a review. Another company diagnosed one of my HVACs with an evaporator coil leak. For various other reasons, I had lost confidence in this company and decided to start a relationship with a new one. When I called Bluebonnet, the first thing they said was to check the warranty, as it may still be covered. I'm not the original owner, but the warranty was still active, so this saved me a lot of money. This is something I should have known to check, but this is my first house. I really appreciated that Bluebonnet brought it up. I would have gone with Bluebonnet, but my warranty terms required me to use an authorized dealer. Unfortunately, Bluebonnet was not listed as one, so I had to cancel my appointment with them. Even then, they seemed genuinely glad that I was able to get it fixed under warranty. These guys wanted to get my AC working, not just to collect their fee. I will definitely be calling them again the next time I need service without warranty restrictions. read more

Very disappointed. Came out and charged $75.00 for home visit where many asked for only $50.00. Proceeded to charge $300.00 for replacing a $40.00 capacitor. Quoted outrageous amount for sealant, and for new 410a refrigerant. Called another local AC company, charged $50.00 to come out and only total of $125.00 for 410a refrigerant. Bluebonnet tech tried to tell me they could not charge without sealant. The AC company I ended up using for the repair dis great job for far less, and things work great. I will never call Blue Bonnet again. read more

My air conditioner froze up yesterday afternoon so I called BlueBonnet HVAC. They gave me an appointment between 11 and 1 today and said they would call me when they were on their way. Jeremy called at 11:18 and said they were on their way. They arrived at 11:40 and began the repair. Jeremy explained my air filter need to be exchanged and how important it is to the air conditioning function. They carefully checked out the air conditioner and fixed and cleaned up the overflow from the defrost. Jeremy and Christian did a fantastic job. I received a call at work from my kids the first hot day of summer telling me that it was getting warm in the house and that the thermostat was showing 86 degrees. I immediately started calling around to find someone who could come out that day AND had great Yelp reviews. I initially reached out to Green Air Conditioning and Heating because of their reviews. The person who answered the phone was very nice, but informed me that they were so busy, they could only assist existing customers. I told them I understood, but that I wanted to know who they would be willing to refer me to that was as good as they were. They said they only referred to one other company in Austin and that was Bluebonnet HVAC. When I called Bluebonnet, the person who answered asked where I was located and then asked if I could be there in two hours. Two hours! Amazing! I was expecting the next day at the earliest. Sure enough, the repairman shows up fifteen minutes early and calls me to see if I am home as he is outside of my house. He quickly figured out what was wrong with our A/C unit and got on the phone with his boss to see if they had the part. They had it at their warehouse and wanted to know if I wanted it. By this time, it was 88 degrees inside. Time was on my side because my wife was not home from work yet and I had a chance of getting the house cool before she came home from a long day at work. He took off to get the part and was back when he promised. He had the A/C back up and running in no time and my wife only had an hour or so of stifling heat in the house to contend with. It hit a max of 89 degrees inside and then starting cooling down pretty fast. By bedtime, the house was back to normal and everyone in the family was happy! Now, I know that the owner of Green Air and Bluebonnet are friends and they should be! One tends to hang out with like-minded people and it appears that these guys both take customer service very seriously.
