That experience prompted us to call Service Wizard instead, and I am very glad we did. Jeremiah was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He took the time to explain what he was checking and what he found, without trying to sell us repairs or services we did not need. He also discovered that during a previous service visit, Radiant had installed the condensation shutoff on the secondary drain line rather than the primary line, where it should have been installed. I really appreciated Jeremiah catching and explaining that issue. Between the emergency availability, Jeremiah's knowledge and professionalism, and the overall experience, I was impressed enough to sign up for Service Wizard's membership before he left. **1/5 Stars - Big Waste of Time (and almost a lot of money)** I wanted to like Service Wizard, but my experience with them was incredibly frustrating. My AC condensation pipe was completely backed up and needed to be flushed. Their tech arrived on time and seemed very professional, spending about an hour and a half working on the unit and inspecting everything inside and out. However, he couldn't find where the evaporator line exited the house. His solution? Install an external pump and run a whole new drain line. The rough estimate for that was, well, a hell of a lot more than the $15 fee they charged me just to come out and take a look. When he left, I still had the exact same broken AC, was stressing over an exorbitant bill to fix it, and somehow found out I'd been signed up for a $15-a-month service plan that entitled me to another check-up in six months just in time for winter. Hoping to just get it resolved, I reached out to Service Wizard via Yelp later that evening to see if they could come back today to do the work the tech recommended. I never got a response. Frustrated, I called a different AC company. They actually answered the phone, sent technicians out right on time today, and those guys spent **five minutes** at my house before finding the external line, repairing it, and flushing my system. Problem completely solved in under five minutes, and the fee was incredibly cheap compared to the massive quote I got from Service Wizard. I will definitely be canceling my $15-a-month contract with Service Wizard and won't be recommending them going forward. Save yourself the headache and call someone else! read more

Jacob and Bryan did an excellent job on my spring HVAC check-up. Since I had a new system installed just a few months ago (by Service Wizard), it was reassuring to see everything running perfectly. They took the time to thoroughly clean the condenser and ran multiple tests on the attic unit to make sure everything was operating as it should. #OUTSTANDING! Diego provided the "26-point AC inspection" on 3 units across 2 homes for me yesterday, but I'm going to call it "27" because he took the extra step to review the findings with me in person. As a rule, Service Wizard techs are generally thorough, pleasant and take photos which are received by email after the visit. I appreciate they take the extra time to put on booties when entering my home. This was the first time I'd seen the "Service Wizard rug" placed at the front doorway - a nice touch for keeping a home free of tracked-in debris. (I bet it's a hassle to tote but it's a unique and appreciated step.) For the first time ever in my many years of home ownership, the label metrics on the side of the AC units were explained and compared to the current performance. Super helpful and removes any "selling" with obvious stats. I also appreciate the insulation measurement and water heater check. Great service vendors want homeowners to be educated. In the past, I had an attic AC unit get clogged, leak and stain multiple ceilings (expensive!) so when Diego detected my older float was not working, it was a no-brainer to fix it on the spot which he was able to do. Bonus, my maintenance agreement comes with a discount on repairs which is reflected in their portal system. Diego also cleaned out the AC drain line which has clogged a bathroom sink in the past - also saving me $$. In the photos, I saw how he hosed and cleaned the exterior units and applied a lubricant--something others may have done (or not) but it became clear to me in the report walkthrough. Yesterday, it was at least 94 degrees outside and hotter in the attic. This is miserable and dangerous work. Yet Diego was meticulous and methodical in his checks of both attic systems and never rushed in answering my questions. Avoid at all costs, extremely rude company with little to no training of service representatives. I requested HVAC maintenance services for my two properties and signed up for a maintenance plan. Joseph set it up. Post that there were no reminders or call from their office for the first service. When I texted him back, he was rude, defensive, repeatedly reminding me that the responsibility is mine to schedule. Which I agree with but they automatically set up my AC service for exactly a year from sign up, rather than now. Anyways, over phone too he kept reminding me about the responsibility part, went on rambling. When I asked him why was the AC service not scheduled for now rather than a year later, which should be a norm or at least someone should have asked me, he kept on rambling about responsibility. Finally asked me whether I would like to cancel, which I did. They installed a split AC for us, which was a great experience. The service one, terrible. Service Wizard lost a repeat customer. Two years ago, I contracted service wizard to replace my upstairs HVAC unit. Over the past two years I've had to call them repeatedly to fix issues on my HVAC system that should've been avoided during install. For example: when they installed the system, they installed the wrong fittings for the gas connections using natural gas instead of propane, which is what it should have been, and they have been notified of before install, they had set it up for natural gas even though I told them it was a propane system. They sold me a Lennox 2.5 ton HVAC system and assured me that it would keep my upstairs cold during the summer , it has not worked properly for the past two summers. I've had them out multiple times to try to diagnose the issue with the HVAC not getting cool enough and over and over again they have not been able to fix the issue. I am now contracting a different HVAC company to come fix the system that I paid over $9000 to install because it is past warranty. By comparison, my downstairs unit which is 20 years old out performs my brand new two year-old upstairs unit by several factors. Do not use this company, contact a local HVAC certified company or technician if you're planning to replace your HVAC unit. Using this company has cost me more money and time and heartache than it would have if I had went with a smaller local company and I regret using them. read more

Absolutely the worst experience. Service Wizard did an install for an AC unit and I PAID for annual service. I've tried an unbelievable amount of times to get through to a human being and keep getting stuck with a digital assistant that says someone will call me back. And it does not happen. I have AC out in my rental and they have not gotten back. When I finally got them out there to a get an evaluation of my system (which was underperforming) they said the vent size was too small. Service Wizard Technician Mike Lira was at the house within the hour, with the part that a competitor had told us would take a week to order, and had the repair done by mid-afternoon. Mike was courteous, competent, professional, and thorough. He replaced the part that needed immediate replacement, and did alert us that the unit may need further service if this doesn't fix it, which is a fair caution under the circumstances. With temperatures set to hit 98 degrees today, 102 with the heat index, this is literally a life-saving service! I had a great experience working with Service Wizard after my 22 year old Carrier AC system developed multiple problems in early July. I submitted a form on the Service Wizard website on a Sunday describing my problem and received a call back Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. They asked for my availability and I said I hoped to see someone ASAP. By 1 pm the same day Adam Henwood stopped by my house to discuss options. I told him I didn't think a 22 year old system was worth salvaging and we started to talk about replacement options. I was pretty pleased with the prices he showed me, they were 10 - 20% less than the quotes a friend had received from a competing company just weeks earlier. Since the prices were so good, I decided to choose a high efficiency, variable capacity system from Lennox, the EL18XCV. Adam told me about a great financing option at 6.99% and we scheduled the installation for the very next day. On Tuesday, the service techs, Jesus Vasquez and his partner Alfredo, arrived before 9 am and got to work removing the old system and installing the new one. The installation went great. Jesus noticed a code violation with my old installation (not using black pipe through the furnace housing) and told me he would install the new system up to current code. He also constructed a base for the air handler so that the air filter would be easier to access. The installation was complete that afternoon and the techs hauled off all the old equipment. My electricity provider, Bluebonnet Electric, provides daily usage reports. I've monitored my use for the last 10 days and found that my bill is down 20-30% with the new system. I've been a Service Wizard customer for years and it's been sad to see how they've changed. They're all about the upsell now. When they came to service my HVAC in the spring, they recommended "topping off" the insulation in my attic. I foolishly agreed to let one of their guys come out to give me a quote, which required me to be home for yet another appointment, and he told me it would be about $8,000 to blow a small amount of insulation into my attic. Yikes. No thanks. When they came to service my HVAC in the fall, the guy recommended installing some kind of UV light in my attic to prevent mushrooms from growing in my ductwork. This was moments after he told me that my ductwork looks brand new. I didn't take the bait on that one. When I politely explained I wasn't interested, the guy's response was "Why not?" Ummm...because you literally just told me that my ducts are clean and, if mushrooms haven't started growing there in the past 20 years, I think we'll be okay without your overpriced gadget in our attic. The bottom line: The Service Wizard of today is almost unrecognizable compared to the company of 10 years ago. Maybe there's new ownership? Either way, there are probably better (and less pushy) options if you're just looking for HVAC service these days. read more

Had a system stop heating when the temperatures dropped. Service Wizard installed our Trane in a 20 year old house and they really improved the ductwork. We called them and they came out the next morning and discovered a mud daubers had gotten into the flue pipe and blocked the exhaust from leaving the system and it shut off the heating. We have the maintenance plan on our units so this only cost $45 for the service call to clean out the flue pipe. Great company. Reasonable, honest. Nice to find professionals who do not up charge by making up some other reason for something that was fixed in less than an hour. I would use them again and we continue the service plan because these units now are so expensive and complex. Catching something early could give us a few more years of use. Thank you read more
