I had an amazing experience with G&S mechanical. Craig was so kind and helpful. My heater went out right in the middle of the cold front, and the first company I had gone to...Honest company .... Was trying to upsell me on a new HVAC. He said the part I needed would cost over $2000 to repair and it would take four weeks to get there. No thanks. My friend recommended G&S, and Upon arrival, Craig was immediately able to get my HVAC running temporarily, which the other guy said he couldn't do, and he was able to find the part locally within 15 minutes. The price he quoted me was almost 50% less than the first company, and he had it fixed within a few hours. He even did some routine maintenance. I was so grateful to have found him! I had them install two 5 ton units at my hair salon. I've had issues ever since the second summer after I purchased them. They finally after me paying them for 5 years to find the leak an topping off the Freon. They found a leak in the coils. I was then told they were no longer under warranty a the coils for my units were no longer available They sent me quotes for up to $9,000 to fix the issue. I was in need of getting a 19-year-old HVAC system replaced and based on their reviews, I contacted G & S Mechanical for a quote. Rick arrived on time. He was very friendly and courteous. He proceeded to assess the current system and later explained to me what types of HVAC systems would be an option. He was very informative and was able to answer any questions I had. He was also very efficient. After He left, I received an email with the quotes within the hour. I decided to go with G & S Mechanical and made the call and spoke with Stephanie. She was able to schedule installation withing a few days. She was so polite and helpful and I received emails and text messages reminding me of the appointment for the installation. Today was installation day and Ray and Chris arrived on time to get started. Chris explained what was to happen then He and Chris got to it with one handling the outside unit and the other taking care of the inside unit. They worked very well together and independently and they would occasionally check or assist the other. They didn't stop until the units were installed and tested. They were both very polite and courteous as well and Ray was very kind in answering a few questions I had. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience with Rick, Stephanie, Ray and Chris. Being a home owner, it's sometimes difficult to find a fair and reliable company to work with sometimes. I was lucky, I now know who to turn to should I require HVAC service. low and behold the capacitor on my AC unit went out on me (5/11), I would've replaced the part myself, but Home Depot and lowes would've had the part in stock the following week (5/18). With this Texas heat I couldn't wait that long. Called up G & S Mechanical and was able to get an early appointment setup the following day. The HVAC specialist called me first thing in the morning to let me know his ETA to my house. He arrived, started working on my A/C unit (which it was the capacitor blown) cleaned up and headed out. Took about 20 minutes in all and the price was pretty competitive compared to other HVAC companies. If your AC unit goes out or needs some fixin up. Give these guys a call, you won't be disappointed. Jackie was extremely responsive even during a terribly busy part of the summer. She gave great suggestions and gently cleared up some misconceptions I had. The installation team of Josh, Justin, John, and Jairo was really committed to quality and patient with me when I kept asking questions. They even installed dampers in the ducts so I can tweak the system airflow at no additional cost because Gabe recognized I like to tinker. As a tenant, these folks could not care less about you. If you are not the owner of the building/facility, they don't care to answer the phone or repair your AC when it's 100 degrees out. It has taken over a week to fix our AC with record breaking mid-Spring heat. The service technicians came three months ago to make sure that our AC was prepared for summer heat, however, the AC is now inoperable in mid-May. Customer service is laughable, as Melissa actually laughed when I asked if it could be fixed in a timely manner. If you're a tenant and not the land lord, good luck. read more

The only reason they even get one star is because of the actual guys that come out to fix stuff. They were very pleasant, clean, respectful, and worked quickly and efficiently. BUT! Tammy was the most awful customer service representative I've ever been in contact with. I'm sure in her private life she is a wonderful woman to be around. I'm sure she is very caring, loving, and compassionate. But I think being in the service industry is no longer right for her. I honestly feel like she would be much more beneficial to the workforce if she did not interact with customers. It is definitely not her strong suit. I was a very disgruntled customer that was interrupted and spoken over at every chance. She ended up getting screamed at. (Honestly, I was proud I didn't curse at her) With the help of our property management company (who will get their own review) it took 5 days to fix our AC in the middle of the summer. In my opinion, it would be good business to put people on the schedule once they schedule a quote and if you don't get the bid then other customers can be helped sooner than they thought. This way, people don't have to wait 5 days to get their air conditioner fixed. But maybe that's too complicated for them to figure out. UPDATE/RESPONSE TO OWNER: I did not start getting upset and start yelling until your employee, Tammy, kept interrupting me and speaking over me and would not let me speak. When I went to look at other reviews I was 100% not surprised. Tammy has been mentioned at least once that I saw. She shouldn't be allowed to talk to customers. And like i said, WITH THE HELP OF OUR PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY it took 5 days. And as far as my theory of scheduling, there are things that are not an emergency and things that are. I'm sure there is a more efficient way of getting people's AC's fixed in a shorter time frame. I know that your company and your employee are not 100% to blame. But the fact still remains, as a customer service representative you do not lose your cool and you don't interrupt or yell back at the customer. If not for any other reason than to prevent things like this. Best of luck to you and your business. But if you keep letting Tammy talk to your customers, especially the way she talked to me, you will inevitably keep getting reviews like this from other people. And the only way you will be able to get good reviews is by asking your friends to do so, the way a previous review stated. read more

He then walked me through all of the issues that have caused my house to have freezing cold rooms in winter, and hot rooms in summer (I have been paying a small fortune for AC and heat year round). He walked me through all of the issues, speaking in very clear laymen's terms, and I finally understand how these systems work! Who knew?! The best is yet to come! Yep....my AC went out again...but it happened in March when it was about 75 degrees, so I consider myself lucky that it didn't break in the summer. I called my go-to AC repair folks at G&S and they were able to squeeze me into an opening on Friday afternoon. Turned out, it was a busted coil, which was a bit more expensive than the last visit, but their pricing was fair and less than most of the other guys. The technician came out and got everything setup within about 3 hours. He even laid out a mat and cleaned up after the job was done, and the AC was back to normal. When I noticed my AC wasn't working on Wednesday morning (it was set on 76 but reading 78) I started asking friends for HVAC repair company recommendations and looked on my neighborhood's Facebook group to see who neighbors had used. Of the 8 recommended companies only G&S was able to come the next day! Richard the service tech called when he was on his way and upon arrival, quickly determined our blower motor had burned out. He then called to find the part and gave us the great news that it was available and he'd return the next day to install it. The office sent me a quote to approve that day. The following day, Richard called to let me know he was on the way and arrived as promised early in the service window. He not only replaced that part but also cleaned the coils and determined our capacitor was weak and out of range, so he replaced that as well! I will definitely use this company again AND refer my friends. I'm also going to have them service my unit semiannually! They showed up (wearing a mask which was not only polite given the precautions with Covid but also showed they cared) and within a minute of telling them what was going on they shot into action and found the issue within 5 minutes.
