Drunken Noodle
James A.

Placed an order for pickup since I was craving some drunken noodles. I've never been to elephant Thai kitchen even though I drive by it all the time. Very casual place inside but there were plenty of people inside eating and the taste of the noodles tells me this is one of those places you go for the food and not necessarily the ambience. My mom always took me to all these non fancy places to eat but the food was always amazing. It was packaged well and to the brim! Definitely will have leftovers! The food came out quickly after I ordered it so I had a minimal wait. I'll come by again for some other Thai food!

pad thai: stir-fried rice noodles with chicken, egg, bean sprouts, and ground peanuts = $16
Trung N.

3.5 stars We shared some noodles for lunch. Each portion ran us around $16 without any protein upgrades. I ordered the pad see ew with chicken ($16). The stir-fried rice noodles come with plenty of Chinese broccoli, egg, and chicken. I asked for my noodles to be medium spicy, though I think I prefer the taste of spicy sambal chili paste. The noodles were fine, but missing that wok hei taste. Without that char, they kinda just fell flat. I also had bites of the pad Thai with chicken ($16). In addition to the chicken, these came with eggs, bean sprouts, and ground peanuts. I found the noodles to be a tad too sour for my liking. Everything tasted as it should - serviceable, but nothing special.

A little hole in the wall joint. Food was pretty tasty Thai/Laos. A little different than what I am used to, but, that's the beauty of trying something new, seems pretty authentic. Food: *I had some sort of spicy noodle soup (the broth was very rich in flavor but I do wish they told me it had tripe!!! Yuck, I do not like tripe!) *spicy chicken and basil (I think my husband got medium n it was a bit too spicy for him.) *beef Pad sew ew - very good! It was a little different cooked then amused or but I did like it. Spice level is very much of a Thai spice and not American. I personally like more Asian spice than the diluted American level of spice. So if you are not used to spicy food, beware and get it very mild. Tip: Close to the Miller Children Hospital.

Deep Fried Trout with Apple Salad
Randy S.

Tried Elephant Thai for the first time, the pad see ew was pretty good. But, everything else was pretty mediocre. The beef in the beef salad was tough and chewy, the soup was a little bland, and the fried trout was dry but the apple salad it pairs with was really a good addition. The service was not too great considering there was only 1 other table, they weren't very attentive to our needs and took a while to wait for them to come by.

Tried Elephant Thai Kitchen for the first time and was honestly impressed with the flavor execution across the board. We had the Drunken Noodles, Tom Kha, and Panang Curry. All three delivered. The Drunken Noodles had great wok hei with a nice kick and perfectly chewy noodles. Tom Kha was rich, aromatic, and had just the right balance of tangy lemongrass and creamy coconut. The Panang Curry was probably the standout. Deep nutty flavor with a smooth velvety texture that paired great with jasmine rice. Service was good. Staff was attentive without being overbearing and the food came out fresh and timely. Prices were a little higher than what I usually expect for Thai, but the quality and portions helped justify it. Overall, a solid spot. Flavor-forward dishes, cozy vibe, and reliable execution. Would definitely come back.

Food is really good, medium spicy is very spicy. Yellow Curry is good, the salad is also very good.

Sticky Rice

Good food and fast service! Pad See Ew and a side of sticky rice to go. It was ready within five minutes or so. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were good. My dish was a little smokier in flavor than I like but overall, it was a good experience and the flavors were good.

The atmosphere was nice and was giving authentic vibes. From the big Buddha statue to the art on the walls. It has a bit of a more darker ambiance. I enjoyed our server. He was quick to greet us and reviewed the menu and gave recommendation. He was very friendly and kept trying to guess what industry we worked in. So the food was great. For the appetizer we got chicken pot stickers. You didn't even need any sauce on the side. We ordered: Drunken noodles with chicken Pad Thai with chicken Glass noodle salad with shrimp Chicken skewers 2 Thai green salads. One was with pork belly and the other steak. Mango sticky rice We all got level 2 for heat which wasn't too spicy which we enjoyed. My least favorite was the mango sticky rice. It wasn't bad just different than what I'm use to. It was brown rice. It had a yogurt and fruit plum in it. I actually liked it. We all left stuffed and happy. I would definitely go back.

When eating their curry I ordered for delivery, I bit down onto something hard, I honestly thought I cracked my tooth. I took it out of my mouth and it looked like a large piece of gravel or a small rock. I have no idea how that would've even gotten in there. I called the restaurant to inform them and the person I spoke with on the phone just didn't really seem like they believed anything I was saying even though I offered to send them a photo like five times. He took down my number and they said that the owner would reach out but it's been days and nobody has. I was honestly hoping that they would make something like this right I mean it's not like it was a hair or a bug, which is still gross but, it was like something that genuinely could have damaged my teeth. Safe to say I'm beyond disappointed. I would come here multiple times a month. Finding a new place to go to is going to suck but after this experience and the lack of care from the staff I just can't :/

The flavor is alway great and every bite, flavorful. Of course the only place that I alway get the boat noodles. I've had it at other places but this is my favorite in Long Beach. The chili garlic fish with rice. We were informed that it would take about 15 minutes which was fine. Deep fried sole fillets with garlic and chili sauce served on top a bed of mixed salad. We also got an appetizer of the spare ribs. Waitress told us our table would not fit all the food and asked us to relocate. I told her we wanted to watch the game and she told us we can move to a table facing the tiny tv. I was pissed because we could really enjoy the game now, however she was right about the table. With three large bowls of food, two empty bowls for our soup, two glasses of water, two bowls of rice and the condiments rack, it did not fit a two person table. If only they would have allowed us to wait until a larger table cleared up or had she told us there was a larger table tv upstairs, that would have been helpful. We didn't find out until the end of the meal. Anyways service was great and attentive until it started getting busy. Then they were no where to be found. The duck curry was delicious. The meat was tender and the curry was just the right amount of spicy and sweet. Love the grapes and pineapples. The soup was good, wish it came in a pot like other places. It got cold really quick in a bowl. The spare ribs were very dry and salty, we took it home for our dogs.
