Chilequiles Rojo
Heide D.

First thing you notice- ambiance is very rustic modern. Dim lighting. Bright enough inside the restaurant to where candles are lit and pieces of natural light from outside shine in. My mother and I came for brunch today on a whim and so happy we did! I had the chilequiles rojo. My mom had biscuits and gravy and our brunch was to die for! I'm usually not a breakfast food type girl so this is high praise for myself. Portions were massive I had to take a to-go box home with me. Service was prompt and knowledgeable. Definitely want to come enjoy dinner here sometime soon as well

4.5 Stars Fresh & Flavorful We finally made it elements in Vancouver. It was pretty easy to find and they had a parking lot behind the restaurant with a back door making it convenient. The staff we welcoming and very friendly. They have atrong emphasis on local, sustainable sourcing and ever-changing, inventive dishes. We shared the beet salad which hit the spot. For entrees we had, roasted king salmon, parmesan crusted petrale sole and rigatoni. Definitely a spot we would come back to and recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dinner in Vancouver.

We tried Elements for the first time on NYE & despite their having a packed house we were all blown away. We opted for their tasting menu which I'm happy we did because every dish was delicious and satisfying to the senses. I loved the ambiance and kindness of the staff who really did their best to make sure we were comfortable and had a great time. Best way to end 2025

Bloody Margaret (gin, instead of vodka), quite tasty, but definitely on the spicy & garlicky side.

Still 5-Stars! This update is to add a comment on their weekend brunch (more on that later in this review update). Follow them on instagram for drool-inducing photos & videos of menu spotlights, along with updates on specials. Everything in my previous reviews still hold true. This is a wonderful place for a special occasion meal, date night, or just to "treat yo self!" The food is always incredibly delicious, the menu changes regularly with as many locally sourced ingredients by the season as possible, and the service is always warm & friendly, without any hint of pretentiousness. Their cocktails & desserts are heavenly as well! Oh, and you get a complimentary crème brûlée dessert if it's your birthday! I recommend making a reservation online for dinner if possible as it's a smaller place, but walk-ins are sometimes possible. They also have an upstairs section you can reserve for larger groups. Their weekend brunch is also so delicious, with some standard breakfast options (but elevated & presented beautifully), along with some more unique options that change with local produce availability. You can usually get in for brunch easily without a reservation, but I still recommend making a rez online ahead of time if you know for sure what weekend day & time you'll be there, just in case. If you have the opportunity to attend one of Chef Miguel's special prix fixe themed menu dinners, I highly recommend! He has them from time to time and they are truly magnificent. There's always a beverage pairing menu available as well you can add on. I attended one of his vegan dinners and WOW - I'm not vegan, and it was so delicious, I would have sworn some of those dishes had meat in them because he worked some umami magic on those fruits & veggies! He posts info on these special menu nights on Instagram, and you have to reserve ahead to get a spot, so be on the lookout for posts about those.

We had a nice experience overall at Elements. The vibe here is super cute and cozy without trying too hard. The live edge tables really stood out. They add a beautiful natural touch to the space. Service was wonderful from start to finish, attentive and friendly. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, and the avocado and lox Benedict. Both were flavorful and thoughtfully presented. I had the Portuguese biscuits with the benedict and I thought those were just ok. A bit dense for my liking. I also do wish the Hollandaise had been a bit warmer. I would come back though. I'd love to try their dinner!Overall great atmosphere, great service, and a menu is worth exploring further.

My husband and I came here on a Saturday evening. We had reservations and were quickly seated to our table. Our hostess came and took our drink order quickly. We looked at the menu and decided to choose a few different items to share. The bread and butter was great. The scallops was my husband's favorite. It was very tasty. The NY strip was thoroughly cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious. Our table was often glanced at and taken care of, which we appreciated. The atmosphere of the space was very cozy. The live edge tables elevated the restaurant and not to mention all of the amazing artwork hung throughout the restaurant. We will be back to try a different menu in the near future.

Sunday 10am, of course all places will be busy with waits for breakfast! I called and they let me know there is no wait right now and will setup a table for our party of 4, to be ready for our arrival - how sweet?! The person who answered the phone was so kind, professional and bubbly as well! We were seated promptly and all staff welcomed us warmly when we walked in. No lie, the iced tea was the best iced tea I've ever had lol not sure if it's brewed in house or what, but so good! Lemon ricotta pancakes, we wanted to try multiple things so very happy to know they can do a half order, and they were amazing - like I'd give my kidney up for them. Roasted potatoes, again, best I've ever had, flavorful, seasoned to perfection. Our eggs Benedict we opted for the Portuguese muffin, made in house, slightly sweeter than an English muffin and denser - but it was amazing. One "negative" thing I'd have to say is one of the kiddos that ordered the classic breakfast with sausage was disappointed that the sausage was chorizo - he assumed breakfast sausage as we all did - the menu didn't say chorizo. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, I'll be back for dinner for sure!! Oh and on the to go boxes the staff wrote the date on the box and a cute note

We googled "best restaurant in Vancouver " and Elements was one of the top results if not the top and Google was right. I had the salmon with pork rinds, pork chop with egg noodles and followed up with vanilla bean crème brûlée, wow it was good! I will be back.

We had a nice evening at Elements. Dinner service was great and the food was good. We started with the Hamachi Crudo that tasted amazing. While the Poached Lobster was a little overcooked but good, the steak was cooked perfectly and the truffle butter made it exceptional. For dessert we had the pumpkin tiramisu which was good too. Service was excellent.

duck

it's really hard to find a restaurant that knows how to cook duck properly. you're supposed to score and sear the skin until crispy to prevent chewiness. this restaurant is not one that knows how to cook duck. The oysters we had the bread and butter, not pictured which was delicious and the steak was good but still chewy in the center because it wasn't cooked to the desired temperature that we requested. The tiramisu should never have chunks. I was expecting a pumpkin purée, but it was chunks of pumpkin that was not expected and not wanted, but the crème brûlée was delicious. we would eat here again, but I would definitely not order the same items. I'm hoping next time we return that the scallops and a chocolate tart is the way to go.

Tortilla Española! To die for! Your tastebuds will thank you!

We love this place as a special treat. Their French Toast is my favorite. The place has a cute style to it and the service has always been great.

This has been my favorite restaurant for a number of years now. Chef Miquel has selections of creative and varying menu items that are exquisitely paired and delicious! Oh my goodness, the layers of flavor you encounter are sublime! I cannot say enough about the quality and presentation. Accompanied by a stellar staff this delightful place is not to be missed. Once discovered you'll go back again, and again!

Is there a kids menu? If so, I don't see it on the website.

I did not see a kids menu. I don't think they cater to very young children. The place is small and kids would be bored.

Are there any gluten free options?

Yes they are. Please visit our website to view our current menu. At www.elementsvancouver.com Any questions please call us 360 258 0989

Why do you come up when I search SUSSHI!!!!? You DO NOT MAKE SUSHI

I’m not sure probably because at some point we had sashimi on the menu.. I’m sorry

Vegan breakfast/brunch items?

Ask the chef Miguel when you get there he would be happy to help out.

Do they have mimosas?

Yes they do. Hand squeezed. At least a couple different kinds

DAIRY ALLERGY MISHANDLED -- WAITER LIED ABOUT CHECKING WITH THE KITCHEN…read more My girlfriend has a serious dairy allergy. Before she arrived, I spent time with our waiter going through the menu carefully -- no butter, no dairy, confirmed twice. He even went back to check with the kitchen and returned saying her meal was completely dairy free. It wasn't. Someone else at the table tasted the green beans and suspected butter. When I asked again, the waiter confirmed they'd been cooked in oil and butter -- after already telling us they were safe. By then the pork chop had been sitting on top of them and was contaminated. His response? "I can bring you another side." No offer to replace the meal. No offer to remove it from the check. Nothing. We had a show to catch at the Magenta Theater and no time to push it, so my girlfriend skipped dinner and grabbed something at Burgerville afterward -- she had a headache by the end of the show. The food and everything else about the evening was genuinely good. But between the false assurance, the contaminated meal, and the complete absence of any effort to make it right, I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone managing a food allergy -- and I'll be thinking hard before coming back myself.

It was relatively quiet for a Thursday at noon, but the area is undergoing major street improvements which is likely to affect crowds. It was open seating and we had plenty of choices to choose from. Service was prompt and guardedly friendly. I ordered the nachos because, when faced with a choice that includes nachos, I always choose nachos. They were on the cold side. As I got deeper into the nachos, I encountered a grey, slimy mush which I scraped off and ate around. We didn't have the menus any longer and I couldn't recall if it had beans or meat. I didn't mention it to our server because I wasn't able to look at the menu until I got home. I realize now that was supposed to be the guacamole. I'm all for reducing food waste and I know avocados are expensive, but this was not the nacho dish I thought I was paying for and not something I would want to eat again. We split our bill in half and noticed that there was an additional credit card surcharge on each of our slips. It was not called out to us when the we paid and neither of us could recall seeing that charge specified on the menu, but we didn't look that closely. Considering the other positive reviews, it's possible we hit an off day, but given our experience it's not likely I will return.

I have 2 friends that have been reluctant on this place from previous "not good" experiences, and they came with me and it made me sad!! Anyway, our server was so blah (Katelyn H), our water glasses had lipstick marks, I asked her for new ones, she seemed to have forgotten or something so I asked the bartender (which is so sweet!) then our server heard me and grabbed glasses and handed them to me. She didn't check if they were clean, and they weren't, friends were too thirsty to wait and wiped off the lip marks with their napkin. She didn't even bother to ask if the glasses were clean, and also never asked us if we needed anymore drinks (we ordered cocktails). When food arrived, I had to walk up to her to ask for small plates, as she just walked away after delivery. The calzones were burnt on the bottom, and the marinara was 100000% canned tomato paste and was cold. Work on that marinara. Ambiance was as it always is, super chill and welcoming. She was the only server but she could have led with that and made it a comfortable setting. (Towards the end I saw the bartender delivering plates and drinks).

We've been wanting to try this place for awhile now, but it always looks so busy on the weekends,…read moreso we waited until we had a day off during the week. We arrived around 11:30 on a Wednesday. It was still pretty busy, and only two booths were open. We were first on the wait list. We only waited about 5 minutes for the host to clear the tables and set them. Staff was friendly and welcoming. You can tell it's a popular place by how busy it was on a weekday. This restaurant occupies an older building in downtown Vancouver. There is street parking available. It's a small establishment, but they do a great job of utilizing every inch. They even have a nice waiting area by the door with two long wooden benches. There are both table and chair seating, as well as a few booths. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the croissant club sandwich with fries and the triple play with half a reuben sandwich, Celtic Caesar salad and a cup of Irish stew. My hubby also asked for a side of bacon. The food came out rather quickly considering how busy they were. Everything we ordered we devoured. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I added avocado to my club sandwich and it was so yummy! Prices are more than reasonable compared to other establishments. You get a generous portion as well. Overall we were happy with the service, food and prices. We'll definitely return to try their breakfast options. Everything looked so appealing as it came out of the kitchen. Would highly recommend!

I am disabled and had a hard time fighting somewhere to park. Once we got in, we were greeted by a very friendly staff. We were sat almost immediately, which was fantastic. The place was pretty full. I ordered Arnold Palmer to drink. It may not seem that big a deal but these were the most delicious I've ever had. For me the lemonade usually has a taste of a dirty mop bucket. But this was so clean and fresh. We started with an order of calamari. Very delicious. It was not chewy or Oil soaked. Very clean very tasty. We also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which was good. For dinner I had the shrimp and grits. It came with a sausage, pasty type stuff, but I had it delivered on the side. This was my best decision of the night. I wasn't crazy about the flavor. But the shrimp and grits were fantastic. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the grits were very flavorful. My wife had the Parmesan crusted Sole. It was so good. The outsides were crispy with the cheese, but the insides were moist and flaky. Absolutely delicious. It also came on a bed of rice. It was perfect. The only drawback to my evening was the fact the bus boys kept trying to take our food off the table before we were done eating. I had to stop one guy from taking a plate. They was still half full of food. The place is very loud if you're looking for a quiet evenings, probably is not a good choice. Very hard edge noisy. Before entering and without knowing anything about Wildfin, I was expecting the Chart House or even McCormick & Schmick. However it's more similar to a high-end Bonefish Grille or stepped down Chart House. More margarita and house wine vs martini and select wines. Has a national chain feel. The menu has many seafood options but most are combinations with pasta, cream sauce, salad, sandwich or fried. The more naked fish selection is limited to salmon, steelhead and trout. Outside of this is a large selection of standard menu items like burgers, appetizers, and obligatory sampling of sushi options. Salads are limited and oddly placed throughout the menu. We ordered the miso black cod, harvest salad, a cup of seafood chowder, tacos and wine. The miso black cod was average for $38. I cook a lot of fish at home that's moist and flaky in the middle and charred outside. I believe this was steamed, overdone and a less generous size. The tacos were tasty with beef, grilled fish and pork belly (although they were out of pork). And the harvest salad was refreshing and fairly light. The wine list was limited and by the glass selections were somewhat standard. Our server (the bartender) knew nothing about the wine but allowed us to taste options. We asked for 9 oz and received what looked like at least 12 oz. In fact we couldn't drink it all. Overall the meal wasn't memorable and if we did return it would be for a drink, bar bites and maybe a burger.
