Came here for brunch with a girlfriend and I really appreciated all the vegan options they had and the coffee was delicious as someone who doesn't drink coffee like that! They have oat milk for those who are dairy free and their vegan chorizo was very delicious! They even gave us a free dessert to take home so I would highly recommend this place to go for brunch either with a few friends or by yourself to get a nice book. Cecilia has garnered a 4 1/2 star rating, and I thought this was going to be a 5 star rating...but nope. It is a strong 3. We loved Amaro's Table, another restaurant in the company, but Cecilia had a few glitches. First of all...we loved Hanah. She was very friendly and engaging. We don't know if it was her or the kitchen, but our food took too long. When it arrived it was beautiful. Two people had the Benedict and I had the Dutch Baby with a side of sausage. Both were excellent. But, I still don't understand why the accompanying maple syrup is served cold, and not heated?? Regarding the benedicts, the eggs were borderline hard. One person felt the hollandaise was too salty. The coffee delivery was very slow to one of the patrons. The restrooms and the general appearance of the restaurant was also perfect. We were surprised by a complimentary plate of donuts since it was our first visit to Cecilia. These were hot and very fresh. I noticed the tables around us remained dirty and were not bussed. I normally don't highlight any issues I have on yelp and save my posts for great experiences, however I'd like this to be a good learning lesson. There needs to be training done for hosts in regard to being aware and their attentiveness. She was very friendly. However when she filled the water glasses, she spills on the table and doesn't say anything nor does she wipe it down. Food was great and service was awesome but this was something that I found odd. I used to be a host and server when I was younger and I currently oversee businesses. I also like to use my personal experience as learning lessons to my employees, by teaching them to be observant, alert, and aware. Unfortunately this is something I will have to add to my list of unpleasant restaurant experiences that I will share. read more

Met a friend here for lunch on a weekday at 11:30am. It was quite busy; I was glad we had made reservations. Service was quick and very attentive. There were a lot of plants and windows, and a sort of urban industrial meets farmhouse maximalism decor. They have an upscale, brunch-type menu, with lots of options on the breakfast and lunch side of things. I went with the house berry lemonade and the Brunch Burger with fries. My friend had the breakfast burrito. My lemonade was delicious, not too tart and not too sweet. The burger was awesome; super yummy with bacon, a fried egg and layers of additional flavor from a tomato jam and garlic aioli. Swiss cheese and greens rounded out a rich, well executed burger. The fries were skinny and crisp, very tasty. My friend's burrito was a hit too, served wet style with what looked like a green chile sauce. Wow!! What an amazing experience. I came in on a Tuesday morning around 9am. I asked to be seated out in the courtyard patio area. I was the only one out there. Senenecca my waitress did a wonderful job of getting me something to drink and taking my order. I pretty much knew what I wanted before I got there as I had seen the chicken fried steak already on Yelp reviews and was really wanting that. I must have had the best service ever. The busboy came out and asked me if I wanted a coffee. They came to refill my water a few times. They even gave me for a first time customer the donuts with a sweet strawberry sauce on them. I had one prior to them delivering my chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak came out with a really good gravy over the top along with some chopped up potato chunks that I think were deep fried. I got some ketchup and some hot sauce along with a couple eggs over medium. Everything was delicious and it was great experience. I cannot wait to go there again and try the omlette or the eggs Benedict. I really liked the hostess. I did not get her name but as soon as I walked in she met me at the front podium and asked me for a table or at the bar. For my 1,000 review, I wanted someplace special and Cecilia did not disappoint. It was our 41st wedding anniversary and we were promptly seated without a reservation. The service staff asked if we were there for a special occasion and we told them it was our anniversary and they brought us some complimentary ricotta doughnuts. 5/5 for the service and the doughnuts. Then venue is upscale worthy of a special occasion. I got the short rib chilaquiles $23 and it was very good 5/5. Definitely in the top 4 in the PDX metro. Pretty generous portion too. The Bloody Mary was good too. The Couve needed an upscale Portlandia style brunch place and Cecilia is it. Yeah, Lapella was a huge pandemic loss but now we have Cecilia. I want to give this 5-star, but because of the food that I selected , I probably should leave at 4-star. The Service could not have been any better. They were very attentive. The atmosphere or ambience, well, let's just say it was a busy place with more than enough commotion. I had chicken and waffles and my wife had a chicken fillet with oven potatoes and eggs. they do have a delicious sausage gravy. The food was very good, although it was deep fried. I have trouble rating anything deep-fried as 5-star, although the food is very good. We were first time visitors there, so we were given complementary donut holes with a light raspberry sauce. On a busy lunch in the weekend, we were able to be seated immediately after coming in. We've been here one other day and the first time my boyfriend and I came in we were welcomed with abuelita's doughnuts. First impressions was the decor was funky, but familiar - chandeliers in the entry were adorbs. Had the famed donuts - so very good - warm jam was outstanding. Then had the Chilaquiles - now this dish is complex - and so much *could* go wrong - soggy tortillas - bland sauce - tough meat. Cecilia's rendition knocked my taste buds out of the park - The short rib was flavorful, tender, and oh so delicious - the meat could have been on a plate by itself, and it would have been dreamy - the eggs were done wonderfully - the tortillas still had some crunch to them - the sauce was outstanding and complimentary, avocados were fresh and perfect. They (used to?) have complimentary Habuelas Doughnuts for first time visitors and people celebrating a special occasion (birthday, anniversary, etc). I've been waiting to try this place and I finally got the chance. Make a reservation! This place is fast moving and very popular. You may have to drive around the lot a few times to find a parking spot, but just be patient, one will open up. There's indoor and outdoor patio seating. For first timers, they bring a complimentary serving of ricotta donuts with powdered sugar and a berry compote. They were good- light and fluffy. We got the abuelita's doughnuts to share, and I got a fried chicken & waffle. The doughnuts are ricotta doughnuts with a berry compote and powdered sugar on top. The donuts on the inside are very soft and moist, definitely recommend. For the fried chicken & waffle, the chicken was fried perfectly and had perfect amount of seasoning on it. The waffle was fluffy as well. In addition to the dishes, also tried their house berry lemonade which had a mix of berries in the lemonade. It was not too sweet and a bit tart which I liked. I noticed how many tables were there for birthdays, etc. Cecelia's is the perfect place for a celebration. (they bring out abuelitas donuts with a candle...so cute). We finally got to Cecelia to try their dinner. Note--they no longer serve happy hour. We sat in a booth in the bar and ambiance is lovely. Except, why do they have a tv with a football game on? Doesn't seem like the vibe. It wasn't very busy on a Sunday evening at 6:30, but we had made a reservation and were sat immediately. Our server was Brittany, the bartender. She was excellent! Knowledgeable about the menu and made fantastic cocktails. I had the Ondine and the hubs had the espresso martini, both were delish! We split the scallop appetizer and the mushroom pasta with grilled chicken. The scallops came with four and I cannot say enough about the flavors and seasoning--divine!!! Seared to perfection! They split the pasta onto two plates for us and forgot the chicken, so Brittany made sure they brought an extra serving for us, such excellent customer service! Let me start with the ambience, it is gorgeous inside. The chandeliers bring a very nice touch, it's a vibe. The open kitchen view is great. The bar is great. The big windows are fantastic, they bring a beautiful natural light in. The food from start to finish was delicious. We ordered the Tres leches French toast to share and every bite was perfect plus four other plates that included the chilaquiles. The freshly squeezed orange juice delicious! Bustling brunch spot with the dishes to back the hype. Eggs benedict were executed spot-on. One of the rare places where the eggs are seasoned beautifully and so you don't get any plain egg white texture or flavor. French toast was also somehow infused with the perfect hit of cinnamon throughout. I always favor brunch spots that feature hashbrowns over home fries, but we will give them a pass on that one. Cecilia's is simply a wonderful restaurant in every way! Our dinner last night was the proof of that, because the real test of a restaurant (or any business) is not how they handle things when everything goes right, but how they handle things when something goes wrong. We had chosen Cecilia's to celebrate a friend's birthday because it is our favorite restaurant. As part of the celebration, we brought to the restaurant the night before an ice cream cake with a picture on top to be served for dessert. By a completely innocent error (much regretted by the person who made it), the cake was placed in the refrigerator instead of the freezer, and it melted. However, the staff at Cecilia's, upon discovering the mistake, immediately did every possible thing to rescue our celebration. The manager raced off to the ice cream store to get a cake that was even bigger than the one we had purchased. The hostess brought us a complementary appetizer and later, a complementary serving of their specialty dessert in addition to the replacement cake. But most importantly, the entire staff made it clear that they would do ANYTHING possible to make up for that innocent and very human error. And they did! Things go wrong unavoidably in life. And sometimes, that's when people show how truly exceptional they are...if they are. The folks at Cecilia's are truly exceptional in everything they do -- food, surface, ambience, and hospitality. Was equally impressed with their service. Received a warm greeting and was asked if I had ever been here before. I told them it was my first time. We came for a late dinner on a Friday night and there was ample seating with no wait. The restaurant is located in an outdoor business/mall parking lot just east of downtown Vancouver off SR-14. It's fairly easy to get to from Portland as long as there's no traffic. We ordered a beet salad, a bowl of cioppino and the halibut entree to share along with a couple of adult beverages. The beet salad was pretty standard, no complaints and the cioppino was pretty good but nothing to write home about. We did really enjoy the halibut entree! It was perfectly cooked and came atop a rich smokey purée with some broccolini which complimented it perfectly. The Highlights: * Spinach Artichoke Dip: A must-order! The bread was deliciously paired with the dip. * Top-Tier Service: I ordered a dish that wasn't quite what I was looking for, and they graciously took it off the bill and swapped it for the Rigatoni alla Pasta. Inside we were greeted warmly and had options of indoor or outdoor seating, both options being very comfortably appointed. The menu has unique a varied options (including classics with a twist and vegan choices as well), and my daughter ordered ricotta Doughnuts. Because it was our first time here, they said they were on the house, and they were absolutely delicious! Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside with a locally berry compote. There is a reason why this place is almost at 5 stars. This might be one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. Of course we had to have the donuts, that's what brought us in. But then we shared the House Benedict and Chicken & Waffles between the 3 of us and it was more than enough to hit our wall. We came in to celebrate my birthday on a Sunday morning after a phone call with them. I was expecting a 40 to an hour wait time. Once we got in, we were able to put our names on the list. There were two ways to quicken up wait times and that was they were offering bar seating or communal seating. We decided to opt out of communal seating however we were comfortable with bar seating so that 45 minute to an hour wait time went down to about 10 minutes. when we were seated everyone was incredibly friendly though on our way to the bar it was a little tight. The bar was pretty with a good view of the display case, however where we were sitting, it felt like the bartenders were just straight in front of us and never moved, but didn't interact too much with us. We ordered the abuelita's donuts for a starter as we had never had it, but if you put the word donut in any brunch food, I'm going to try it and it was nothing short of fantastic. We also were able to get lattes with oat milk and their coffee was incredible and I don't say that lightly. I chose to go with the chicken and waffles while my husband decided on the biscuits and gravy. As someone from the south, I have high expectations of chicken waffles. This meal was insane. The chicken was moist. The waffles were well done enough, but not crispy. There was enough seasoning on the chicken, but not too much to make it overwhelming, the syrup was not even needed. While at the bar I was able to look over at our neighbors brunch picks and their lox plate looked nothing short of fantastic. Will be trying that next. I am hesitant about giving this a five star because of our bar sitting experience however the food, the service, as well as as the option to cut down our wait time, makes that bar top not an issue. read more
