We were told by our friend that the crab cakes were excellent, so the three of us came for that. While they were perfect, and a bountiful amount of crab was utilized, the seafood chowder was incredible. They serve some croutons on the side if you choose to add to the chowder. The crab cakes were accompanied by an excellent cole slaw, and tartar sauce. Antonio was also very efficient and engaging. The Director of Culinary also came to our table to say hi, and he has been part of the company for about eight years. Stopped by on a road trip for a dinner. Everything was excellent! The pistachio crusted halibut was cooked to perfection - crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The miso & honey glazed king salmon was a delightful take on a favorite dish, bringing out the best in the fish. The ribeye steak was done just right with a hearty portion and nice accompaniments of mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The halibut sandwich hit the spot for comfort food with a side of crispy French fries. We choose the indoor seating because of the hotter than usual evening, but I can definitely see how outdoor seating would make this an even better experience. Service was great! Attentive and fast even in a busy evening. Highly recommended! read more

The cove has great scenic views all around the restaurant. As you sit and order your food, you can see the water from almost every seat. When you arrive, there is a host there waiting to help you. Once seated the waiter brings you water, along with menus and recommendations. The drinks are pretty good and they have a full bar. The food was pretty good ( needed bit more seasoning) but the salads are the show stoppers! The baby gem caesar is a must have! My husband and I had dinner reservations for the night. We arrived two minutes before our schedule time and were told that they're pushing some tables and they will seat us soon. We waited 10 minutes before we were taken to our seats. It seems as though there were enough tables to accommodate the long wait line, but not enough staffing. We understood. Our waitress gave us our menu and we looked through the menu. She came back shortly and took our order. We ordered the king pao calamari to share. My husband ordered the Parmesan encrusted halibut and I ordered the wood fire grilled rib eye steak. The kung pao calamari came with cauliflower. It was okay, the kung pao sauce was a bit too powerful for the sweetness of the calamari. I would lighten up the sauce lightly. The Parmesan encrusted halibut came with tomato paste, along with califlower, green beans and potatoes. I had a quick taste and it was okay. My dish came with smashed potatoes and asparagus which is a great pairing. The steak was cooked to perfection and I liked the smashed potatoes. The restaurant has a lot of searings, and nice decor. 2026 review: Dined in on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with a largo group and shout out to the servers who handled everything with grace. I didn't make the reservation so I don't know the original number it was made for, but I'm positive we had more people show up than originally intended and that can sometimes be hard on the wait staff. This time I tried the calamari, and it was OK. There was too much Kung Pao sauce for me and with the tamarind- ginger aioli, it was a tad bit too salty. My entree was the chicken grinder and it was delicious. The bread was fresh and I removed the spicy pepper relish. We had a seat by the window so great river views. I had the Market Choice salad which is lettuce with a variety of seafood on the top. I loved the smoked salmon on it, some pieces of the calamari were slightly overcooked though. If only I started with my drink not having a spicy, salted rim I think the meal could have been better. My drink was the hot honey pineapple and it tasted nice. Had the short rib sandwich with fries. The short rib tasted a little salty but is that because of the drink or how the sandwich was prepared. The fries came with a little cup of ketchup (acceptable) and thousand island (unacceptable). The sandwich also came with a cup of au jus, which when sipped was very salty and I did not use it with the sandwich. Overall the restaurant is in a very nice marina location on Columbia Way and the view from their exterior "deck" area is very pretty at night. Service was great. read more

I enjoyed my time at The Cove. After finding them on Resy, I made a reservation for about an hour out. My dining partner and I arrived early, so we took a walk around the property. It's beautiful. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We chose outside and then was given a choice out of 3 tables. We chose a fire pit table. I was already impressed with the service at this point. We asked for the fire pit to be lit and a manager eventually came and lit the fire pit. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and not pushy to sell more food. We enjoyed several dishes a seasonal lemonade which was pretty tart, the mocktail of the week, which I really enjoyed. The Kung Pao Calamari was to die for, the Crab and Shrimp Wontons were delish, the cup of chowder was pretty good, and I enjoyed the seafood salad. Would totally visit again! read more

Delicious! Every dining experience, whether it be brunch or dinner, has been excellent at The Cove! Food and service has always been A+! We went in the middle of the week for dinner with no reservation and were seated quickly at a booth near the window. Nice view! We started with the Focaccia bread with the oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping and oh my all I can say is WOW! I could have ordered 4 more orders! It was perfectly soft inside with a flavorful crispy crust. Delicious! Highly recommend! I got the Coconut crusted Halibut and it was perfectly cooked. An excellent restaurant overseeing the Columbia River. This restaurant is big, clean and nicely decorated. It has tables and booths inside and outside over seeing the marina and the Columbia River. We came on a Thursday afternoon at 1pm and we think they were short staffed since it took a while for the server to attend us. We ordered the Seafood Salad, Cobb Salad, King Salmon Main Entree and Halibut Fish and Chips. Every dish was made to perfection and perfect sizing. We didn't make a reservation because of the time and day, but we highly recommend to do one for dinners or the weekend. read more

Hmm decent but I much prefer saltys right across the river. Nothing was bad per se but for the price I was a bit disappointed. - Seafood fondue: good but would be better it was smaller and cheaper, too much bread and cheese for a starter it's easily a full meal. - Seafood bucatini: a bit bland honestly. I asked for a lemon wedge which improved it a bit but just not enough flavor. - Chowder: one of the better chowders I've tried, not too thick/buttery but had some other flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on, maybe brown butter. I kind of wished we went w/ the burger and chicken grinder which we were eyeing as well. Seems like a silly place to order a $20 Italian sandwich but I've heard good things. Great place for Saturday brunch with friends. Weather was pleasant and its a quiet calm spot to enjoy your meal. The waitress was perfectly attentive...enough but not too much or too little. She was nice to ask the bartender to make one of the mocktails into a cocktail for us. Food was great. There was a ton of mushrooms in the wild omelette. So yummy. My brother made lunch reservations here to celebrate my nephew's graduation day! It was delicious!! Our server Nathan was awesome and very helpful. Attended a meeting/dinner at this isolated restaurant located on the Columbia River at the end of a dead end road. Dinner, consisting of salmon & steak with sides and dessert, was well prepared. Steak was tender and dessert (mousse cake) was scrumptious. Service was friendly too. Views of the river would be nice during daylight hours. Menu prices are elevated likely due to "having a view." The location, approximately 2 miles east of any significant commercial area, can be daunting if you're unfamiliar with the area. This dinner was an unexpected surprise. My wife and I ate here on a rare date night, while my in-laws watched our daughters. We were looking for something new and a place we had not tried, plus I wanted seafood, and we discovered The Cove! Everything about it was fantastic...the location, (off the beaten path), the atmosphere, the service, and especially the food and cocktails! When we got back to my in-law's house, I recommended The Cove to my father-in-law, who also loves seafood places. And I will definitely be back! As for seafood, The Cove is not as seafood-heavy like Salty's across the Columbia River. Unfortunately, you can't get lobster or dungeness crab legs here. I have been eager to start dropping into a few of these river edge restaurants. Thanks Vancouver for giving us this. The Columbia River really is lovely an sitting in a seat with a view like this makes you feel a touch 'on vacation' even for an hour or two. I traversed 230pm to nearly 4pm traffic to get from Beaverton to here on a Friday because I am super smart :) Soooo, I do not recommend hanging out in the parking lot we lovingly call I-5 BUT I definitely could not stay mad at it just even parking. I was driving up thinking OH NO...because as an ADA person I dread the word 'garage'... but boom, an ADA spot right there where I need to walk in. I was even more late for my dinner plans as I had to stop and take a photo shoot of the gorgeous view. The buildings are arranged so well so they are not competing with it. This will sound like an odd compliment but IYKYK.... Whoever set the toilet auto-flush I would like to hug...passionately for an awkward amount of time. GENUIENLY THANK YOU. I have a cane and some days are more mobile than others. I also was paralyzed in a wheelchair. I have taken many a shower thanks to the hyper sensitive and aggressive auto-flush. There was a time where dismounting I though it turned bidet, if you catch my WOW moment. Again, thank you for having a bathroom that is clean and that does not assault a person. Everyone working was just lovely - especially our server who was that perfect balance of being there when you needed her and just being so warm and on top of it. I also love when ordering and the person taking the request is excited ... you can tell when they are genuine. Having your staff eat the food shows you care about the experience of your customers. It showed with the food as well. My friend ordered the seafood salad which looked so amazing! I loved that each item was thought about! The avocado fanned out to show it being perfectly ripe. The calamari was breaded and perfectly fried. The boiled egg was pickled! Smoked salmon which smelled so fresh and had that lovely kiss of pepper on it. Prawns AND bay shrimp...that alone made me want to come back and order that! I went with the chef's special - a piece of halibut served with two perfect scallops, a tomato cream sauce that should be on everything you can eat - it as that incredible. Also, thank you for red potatoes mashed with lumps and the skin - amazing and exactly my favorite! Asparagus also grilled to perfection. That was an incredible plate of food. My only disappointment was their focaccia. It itself was wonderful but my friend had ordered it as I was late and I thought it was served as a starter. It was just a bit sad to see a restaurant of this caliber not giving its guests a touch of bread, especially considering how small the portion was. I have a very big pro tip for you - get reservations and also, schedule to watch the sun go down. We did not do this on purposed but discovered it is the way to behave. Wonderful dinner at The Cove! Heading out to decompression after a family event, The Cove offered a refined atmosphere in which we could relax, even though it's a larger place that appeals to families as well as couples. Our server, Carly, was quick with recommendations but also listened to what we were hungering for. Martinis started the evening, followed by a chilled seafood sampler for me and a sesame crusted ahi tuna steak for my wife. Both were exactly what we'd been craving. Carly checked back often enough for us to know we'd not been forgotten but not so much that it felt overbearing. While we ate indoors, the large windows provided a nice view of the Columbia, at least until the sun went down. Then it was off into the night, with the thought that we would return as soon as we could manage. Prices were quite reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the food, and the service sent everything to the next level. Highly recommended! read more

A local favorite checked off my list! The views are really nice from the restaurant. We came for lunch and started with the chowder bowl and seafood fondue, definitely go for the seafood fondue! This restaurant is a breath of fresh air in the vancouver dining scene. Located on the beautiful Columbia river, this is a place to take someone that you want to "wow". Everything from the ambiance, service, chefs makes this a 10/10. Both the bar and restaurant menu rotates periodically which keeps things exciting (or in my case sad to be missing the tomato martini that used to be featured hehe but it's all good). The cove has some excellent drinks, appetizers, and desserts - the mains were a little middle of the road though. They had two cocktails that were a take on an old fashioned (smoke & mirrors and orange) - they were phenomenal! Their BFK was fine but a little too sweet for my taste. The fondue is a bit more liquidy than expected but tasted phenomenal especially with the focaccia. The oysters were great and I really loved how they have 4 different sauces, very unique! The dinner itself was pretty underwhelming. The halibut crust tasted great but the inside was pretty dry. My husband got the rib eye and said it was also pretty middle of the road. Make sure and get the ooey gooey butter cake!! The service was great and very attentive. Overall, not sure I would come back for dinner but definitely for drinks and small bites. read more

Stopped in for our 4th or 5th visit to celebrate my wife's birthday last Friday night April 17th... The Cove has always been a great choice in the past for special dinners/occasions. Unfortunately this time, we left very disappointed. My wife has a sensitivity to spicy foods. Upon ordering appetizers for the table, we asked if any of them (that had a spicy description on the menu) had the option to have the sauce on the side. She proceeded to ask how the scallops were and went ahead with that order. There was absolutely no description of having any spicy component on the menu nor any mention by the server. Upon her first bite of the risotto, she went into a severe coughing fit :( I tasted it and acknowledged how spicy it was. She proceeded to just eat the scallops. We were mostly done when the waiter came to check on us ... My wife asked if the dish is typically spicy. Response was "oh yes" ... It was completely lost on us why he wouldn't have mentioned that to her upon ordering knowing how she questioned the appetizers. His offer at this point was a new meal .. which was nice but we were mostly done. There really wasn't much in the way of sincerity beyond that. It seems the right thing to have done was offer my wife (celebrating her birthday) who didn't enjoy her meal ... maybe a comp'd drink or maybe a dessert (no acknowledgment of her birthday at all. When you spend north of $300 ... Disappointing to say the least. Upon leaving, I decided to just express my concern to the hostess and suggested adding the spice level of this specific entree to the menu. I reaffirmed my wife didn't get to fully enjoy her meal. I received a lukewarm "thanks for letting us know." The worst part of the whole experience was a manager/owner type was a few steps behind her, made eye contact and was fully aware i had an issue and made absolutely no attempt to come over and address the complaint. I no longer blame the waiter for his lack of concern knowing it flows from the top. We all go out and spend top dollar at nice restaurants for good food but also, for service and the experience. The restaurant has been opened awhile and maybe is established enough where this isn't as much of a priority as it was early on. In contrast, we went out the night before to a more established fave restaurant of ours in Portland (Ava Genes). Had an incredible meal, incredible experience, and uber attentive service. They even went the extra mile and made a big deal that we chose them to celebrate. Ended our evening with a simple complimentary scoop of gelato/candle. It was a nice touch. Certainly didn't mind spending the $$$ for that evening. I wouldn't dissuade anyone from trying The Cove if they've never been (I'm hopeful they just had a bad night) ... but there are so many good choices out there, it will most certainly make us think twice before going back. read more

Has a little bit apprehensive about coming here considering the wide range of opinions on Yelp. However, I was pleasantly surprised!. The basics, the location's great. They have a lot of parking and you can make online reservations using their website which is all fantastic. Thanks for making it easy to get into Inside the place is well appointed. Comfortable seating. Some pretty good views (I think during the summertime views on the patio would be great, but during the winter they weren't quite as spectacular). We arrived early for lunch on Christmas Eve and they sat us right away. I really like the fact that they bring your carafe of water so you don't have to wait. You're really thirsty, we started with the focaccia bread which lived up to early reviews as being really quite good. To make it better I think serve it warm in a basket with a a cloth to keep it warm. However, even cold it was pretty good. Our server was quite friendly. Was very helpful in understanding what the menu was and made some great suggestions. My friend and I went for the halibut fish and chips. The wife went for the halibut fish sandwich so we didn't try a lot of the other foods they have to offer The food came out pretty quickly. The hell of it is very good. However, it's panko breaded not tempura batter like you might expect on a traditional English fish and chips. Nothing taken away from it. Just trying to make sure the expectations are clear. The wife like the sandwich with the accompaniments. My friend and I like the fish with the tartar sauce. The steak fries are really nice and crisp and they come with both their fried sauce and ketchup. I had the iced tea and it never went empty. My wife had the seasonal lemonade which was cranberry ginger and she like that and my friend had hot tea. They brought you a selection of several Smith teas in a really nice teapot with all the hot water you want so she was very happy as well. We couldn't resist the cake for dessert. The gooey butter cake. I think it's called. We shared it with the three of us and we probably probably would have had more, but there's a lot of food to come this week so we decided to restrain ourselves. I'm looking forward to going back for brunch. They only serve it on Saturday and Sunday, but a great brunch place that you can make reservations on. The web is hard to find in Vancouver and so I'm looking forward to it. The menu shows lots of promise. I didn't see any of the concerns other people have had, but I may have been at a better time to be at the place than other folks who had a less than spectacular experience. With a dedicated, private dining area on the second floor, I think this would be an excellent place for a company function, rehearsal dinner or even a wedding reception. Had an amazing weekday lunch with family here this week. Spectacular service is my take away, but the food was equally superior. From the appetizer bread that we ordered to the fish and chips, BLAT, and salmon lunches, to our beverages, everything was exceptional. The views from this restaurant are beyond compare. As a person who regularly orders fish and chips, I am comfortable saying this is one of the best places. The fish used was a very thick halibut, perfectly fried with Panko crumbs, and the steak fries were just ideally prepared and seasoned. Choice of 2 or 3 pieces of fish. My son-in-law got the BLAT, which was a special, and it was reportedly very good. My daughter had the salmon lunch and she said it was really fine. This definitely seems like a place to go for special celebrations, but as we found out, it works well for the casual mid-week lunch also. read more

The wait staff were superb, great view, and the food looked good. But danged. My wife had a veggie plate and we shared a side of the Brussel sprouts. It was unreal how much oil was on the veggies. As in, my wife commented on the way out that we didn't need to eat here again. She took most of the veggies home and has rolled them in paper towels to sop up the oil. Wow. I have the mussels and the seafood chowder. If there wasn't so much salt in the mussels they would have been legendary. As it was, well, thank god I don't fight blood pressure. At least I didn't before eating at the Cove. The Chowder was excellent. Not bad, 1 out of 4 dishes was good. I fear we won't be going back - but I have to say, the staff were great. read more
