    Seafood and Avocado Salad

What a delicious lunch!! I have been here several times yet have neglected to review them until now... Went for lunch to meet up with a girlfriend I hadn't seen in years, what a wonderful establishment with stunning views of the Columbia River! Our server was very patient with us because it took us a while to order catching up and reconnecting before making our choices. We decided on the seafood salad- it had just about all the goodies you could imagine in a gourmet salad!! The drinks were fantastic as well! I will certainly return with my husband for a romantic date night for seafood.

Another awesome meal at The Cove! I brought a group here and the team crushed it! Great service from the moment we walked in! The view of the river was great and the food was out fast. My fish and chips were awesome! Fresh and flavorful! The desserts... oh my! We tried a few and they were the highlight of the meal! So many awesome options! Great food, great service!

The cove has great scenic views all around the restaurant. As you sit and order your food, you can see the water from almost every seat. When you arrive, there is a host there waiting to help you. Once seated the waiter brings you water, along with menus and recommendations. The drinks are pretty good and they have a full bar. The food was pretty good ( needed bit more seasoning) but the salads are the show stoppers! The baby gem caesar is a must have! If you love a restaurant with great views, great service and true Pacific Northwest food, this is your home!

My husband and I had dinner reservations for the night. We arrived two minutes before our schedule time and were told that they're pushing some tables and they will seat us soon. We waited 10 minutes before we were taken to our seats. It seems as though there were enough tables to accommodate the long wait line, but not enough staffing. We understood. Our waitress gave us our menu and we looked through the menu. She came back shortly and took our order. We ordered the king pao calamari to share. My husband ordered the Parmesan encrusted halibut and I ordered the wood fire grilled rib eye steak. The kung pao calamari came with cauliflower. It was okay, the kung pao sauce was a bit too powerful for the sweetness of the calamari. I would lighten up the sauce lightly. The Parmesan encrusted halibut came with tomato paste, along with califlower, green beans and potatoes. I had a quick taste and it was okay. My dish came with smashed potatoes and asparagus which is a great pairing. The steak was cooked to perfection and I liked the smashed potatoes. The restaurant has a lot of searings, and nice decor. There are lots of views of the River which sets the ambiance for the night.

I enjoyed my time at The Cove. After finding them on Resy, I made a reservation for about an hour out. My dining partner and I arrived early, so we took a walk around the property. It's beautiful. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We chose outside and then was given a choice out of 3 tables. We chose a fire pit table. I was already impressed with the service at this point. We asked for the fire pit to be lit and a manager eventually came and lit the fire pit. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and not pushy to sell more food. We enjoyed several dishes a seasonal lemonade which was pretty tart, the mocktail of the week, which I really enjoyed. The Kung Pao Calamari was to die for, the Crab and Shrimp Wontons were delish, the cup of chowder was pretty good, and I enjoyed the seafood salad. Would totally visit again!

    Braised Short Rib Sandwich

If only I started with my drink not having a spicy, salted rim I think the meal could have been better. My drink was the hot honey pineapple and it tasted nice. Had the short rib sandwich with fries. The short rib tasted a little salty but is that because of the drink or how the sandwich was prepared. The fries came with a little cup of ketchup (acceptable) and thousand island (unacceptable). The sandwich also came with a cup of au jus, which when sipped was very salty and I did not use it with the sandwich. Overall the restaurant is in a very nice marina location on Columbia Way and the view from their exterior "deck" area is very pretty at night. Service was great.

Delicious! Every dining experience, whether it be brunch or dinner, has been excellent at The Cove! Food and service has always been A+! We went in the middle of the week for dinner with no reservation and were seated quickly at a booth near the window. Nice view! We started with the Focaccia bread with the oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping and oh my all I can say is WOW! I could have ordered 4 more orders! It was perfectly soft inside with a flavorful crispy crust. Delicious! Highly recommend! I got the Coconut crusted Halibut and it was perfectly cooked. Nice and flakey with great flavor that was light enough to nicely compliment the fish. The Cove is one of my Vancouver favorites! They never miss for me!

An excellent restaurant overseeing the Columbia River. This restaurant is big, clean and nicely decorated. It has tables and booths inside and outside over seeing the marina and the Columbia River. We came on a Thursday afternoon at 1pm and we think they were short staffed since it took a while for the server to attend us. We ordered the Seafood Salad, Cobb Salad, King Salmon Main Entree and Halibut Fish and Chips. Every dish was made to perfection and perfect sizing. We didn't make a reservation because of the time and day, but we highly recommend to do one for dinners or the weekend.

Hmm decent but I much prefer saltys right across the river. Nothing was bad per se but for the price I was a bit disappointed. - Seafood fondue: good but would be better it was smaller and cheaper, too much bread and cheese for a starter it's easily a full meal. - Seafood bucatini: a bit bland honestly. I asked for a lemon wedge which improved it a bit but just not enough flavor. - Chowder: one of the better chowders I've tried, not too thick/buttery but had some other flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on, maybe brown butter. I kind of wished we went w/ the burger and chicken grinder which we were eyeing as well. Seems like a silly place to order a $20 Italian sandwich but I've heard good things. It's got nice clean ambience w/ riverfront views but again so does saltys.

Drink special: blueberry, lemon, gingerale mocktail

Ask the Community - The Cove

    Weekend brunch menu?

Yes, their weekend brunch menu is listed in the menus section on their website. https://www.thecovewa.com/brunch-menu

Does the Cove have a dress code?

The dress style is a little dress/ casual. I wouldn't recommend flip flops for shoes- male or female. An open toe shoe is fine but it's semi fancy. It would make for a nice "romantic" date.

Do they have a kids menu?

Yes they do. Visit their website for details.

Is the "social hour" menu, happy hour?

Yes, but I believe it is only in the bar area of restaurant

Highlights; carrot hollandaise served with broccoli, nettle risotto & the rhubarb cocktail. Only critique was the Lions mane mushroom entree was difficult to cut and eat. My dinner date was put off by the mass & texture of it. Perhaps cut in strips & prepared in the style of Trippa alla fiorentina could make this ingredient amazing. Overall great night.

We ordered five items to share. We had to take leftovers home, so I would say 4 dishes for three people would've been better. But it was just really hard to choose because everything looked amazing. My favorite items by far were the Chantelle chowder and the watermelon radishes. The tortellini soup reminded me of a Ramen broth, but with tortellini in it instead of Ramen noodles. The table next to me ordered the kimchi and chips, and I wish I had ordered it, but usually kimchi is too spicy for me so that's why I didn't. I think they even ferment the kimchi there. I'll definitely order that when I go back. My least favorite item was the barbecue tempeh, and that was mainly because of the soft consistency of the tempeh. But the celery root mash that came with it was delicious. The service was exceptional. The bathrooms were clean and nice. And I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back.

I've looked forward to writing this review for a number of weeks now... ashamed I haven't done it…read moresooner. Wilder. WOW. JUST WOW. This is another one of those rare reviews I write where I regret we can't give more than 5-stars! Wilder is truly one of the greatest restaurants in all of the Portland metro. Discovered on a random Saturday morning months ago, we stumbled in for a late brunch... it was a knock-your-socks off moment. First, their Benedict is absolutley delectable! We all know I'm a sucker for a good Benedict but I'll put this one in my top-3 EVER! Absolutely wonderful! Secondly, having returned multiple times for brunch, I can confidently say, you can't choose wrong from their menu! During brunch one morning, we came to the realization that Wilder offers dinner, as well! Sure enough, we were back within the week. First thing we noticed was gluten-free fried chicken... what? Who would have thought?!?! Of course, it was on the list + their Steak Tartare. I'll just say, we couldn't have ordered better. Their chicken is literally, out of this world. Having lived in the southeast of the country twice now, I feel as though I've experienced some pretty darn good fried chicken. However, the Wilder's Fried Chicken was absolutely enchanting, every bite! The Steak Tartare was served beautifully, with a yolk on top... how much better does it get? Ambiance is cozy and romantic. Bright and intimate in the mornings for brunch, dark and moody in the evenings for dinner. It strikes the perfect mood, every visit. We would be remiss not to mention their fabulous staff. Each and every member of their team is a delight. Professional, kind, friendly, and engaging. Nothing but positive interactions, every single time. Drinks are wonderful, bar staff is obviously knowledgable. Great selection of spirits and wine. Food is to die for. Staff is top-notch! Wilder has earned nothing less than a perfect 5-star rating. Truly in our Top 3 favorite restaurants in all of Portland and permanently on our weekly list of places to visit. As it has started to become our Friday "date night" spot, it certainly makes me anxious for the weekends to get here! Go enjoy, you won't regret it! Thank me later!

Special shout out to the kitchen staff for big multitasking energy: watching the game, closing out the place, and firing out some amazing food. You would see that it's going to a motel, you would think to add the silverware. Fortunately, I was able to get silverware from my motel's breakfast room. The lumpia were very good. They were not greasy at all. They are smaller than standard eggrolls, but because they use more meat and less veggies than your standard eggroll, they pack a lot more flavor. Everything inside was seasoned well, and I really enjoyed them. They came with a vinegar based dipping sauce that I liked The "garlic Ponzu" salmon poke? No, not nearly as good. For the price they were charging, it was not a very big portion. Besides that, it just wasn't that good. A good salmon is normally pink to orange. This salmon was barely pink. I couldn't taste the garlic or the Ponzu at all. The veggies were crisp, the rice was a good quality, but there was just no seasoning. The salmon was very bland. I didn't know if it was just because of the seasoning, maybe they used a low quality or a previously, frozen salmon. I love good salmon. This was not good salmon. For the price I paid, not counting the DoorDash fees because those are added in anyway, I just felt I didn't get my moneys worth. Next time I'm in the area, I will find another place. Thanks anyway.
