    Happy hour menu

Popped in here before the ballet up the street, their happy hour is a steal! We got 2 baby shots (blueberry basil lemon drop) margaritas, and ordered the French onion sandwich with side salads (one with ranch and one with the garlic vinaigrette) and chips with queso. Service was quick and kind, all the drinks were great, the food we inhaled! Loved the vibe of the bar, dark but clean, I'd absolutely come back here

We were in Oregon a couple weekends ago during the snow apocalypse. The Knock Back was one of the only bars open and within walking distance of our Airbnb. We absolutely fell in love with the vibe, the comfort and the staff. Not to mention the boozy drinks. Food: I cannot remember the life of me what we ordered, but from what I can remember the tater tots were served with a garlic aioli sauce... That sauce was the creamiest, intense packed sauce ever. My boyfriend compared it to ranch... -_- He doesn't have a complex palate. Drinks were wonderful! They had a boozy hot chocolate with a tasted marshmallow on top? Yes, please. Service: Now I may have been in the clouds a bit, but the staff and service were top notch. There was a slight computer error which made our food come out later but we did not care. But once the staff noticed, it was quick and sincere apologies and food was served almost immediately afterwards. It was the concern and checking in on us that really made us feel welcome and at home. Oh, we almost witnessed a couple drunk women on Island Ice Teas start a fight. We absolutely will be back. Keep Portland Weird!

Strolled in off the street (coming from another awesome Yelp experience) -- what a find. This place exudes such mellow vibes, super chill ambiance. The outside seating area/patio looked like it would be great for sitting around a fire with a group of friends and enjoying awesome drinks and fantastic company. The inside looked to be ideal for a date night given the intimate lighting and low volume (at least, this was the case while I was there). Our bartender was soft spoken and low key but very attentive when we needed his attention. The pricing for drinks was quite fair! We tried a few different rums (yum for the rum!) and had a couple cocktails including the mystery drink (not amazing but it was fun to order I think lol). I really enjoyed my quick stop in (ok, 1 hour stop but idk, it went by quick.) and fully intend to go back again soon. Yolo and cheers and a happy new years!

We had been wanting to try this spot out for quite some time. Not only did it look like a great place to chill for drinks out by the patio with the firepit but also for their grill Cheeses that they are most known for. Not sure if it is the norm all of the time but they don't have table service. We ordered at the bar and picked up our food when it was ready. We were able to take advantage of the nice weather and eat outside on the patio. We tried the French Onion and the Veggie Sandwich with a burger patty on them. The grill they are able to get on the bread is awesome. Great crunch which added to the whole experience. They were flavorful and kept us craving the next bite. They were all decked out for Halloween with fun decorations. Looking forward to visiting again.

Food: 4 stars Drinks: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Ambiance: 5 stars So, I'll admit that I'm a longtime fan of the grilled cheese grill and came here pretty much entirely to get a taste of the food cart I miss dearly. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste exactly the same as it did, and they don't offer the full menu (bring back the double decker option!) but it did give me a bit of the joy I was seeking. The Knock Back has a great happy hour menu, a fantastic list of beers on tap, and incredible boozy slushies. If I was looking for a fun night out and not a post-hike refresher, I would have had a great time trying many different drinks. As it was, we stuck to happy hour and beers this time in. Definitely recommend both food and drinks here, and the vibe is great. It's a fabulous Alberta neighborhood spot.

Literally the best smash burger i've ever had, my friend and I both got the happy hour burger (only $8) and added cheese & bacon. It was incredible to say the least. The wings were also amazing and we were so happy we stumbled into this place. Neither of us had been before and i'm so happy i found it!! will definitely be back

I had to come back and get the grilled cheese sandwich here. It's nice to know that the kitchen is being run by The Grilled Cheese Grill. I had the After School Snack - a grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of tomato soup. This was the perfect snack for me to accompany my beverage. The food is just as great as I remembered it.

The main reason this gets 5 stars is the mystery shot. I don't know what it was, but for $5 it was one of the best alcoholic beverages I've ever put in my body. I was also incredibly impressed with how quickly the bartenders worked through the line considering we came in during Last Thursday and there was a line out the door, we got our drinks in about 5 minutes. The space was also very nice, a lot of seating both indoor and outdoor.

I had to head to the airport at 8pm to pick up my mom and aunt coming to town. I felt I deserved a high caloric dinner and a cocktail after work. I found The Knock Back a short distance from PDX and stopped in. I sat up at the bar and was delighted that they had alcoholic slushies on tap. I wasn't quite in the mood to have one, but I feel I need to go back to get one next time. I decided on the punch of the day. I can't recall exactly what the drink was, but while it was pretty good, I didn't think of it as punch. It was something like a blood orange with mint (I hope I'm not way off!). I went with the General Jarn's Fried Chicken Slider and the French Fries. I can never seem to leave sauces alone, and this time was no different. I tend to mix them, no matter how weird that combo might be. I was pleased with both of my options. I'd like to go with someone else so that I can sample more options...such as the Dirty Popcorn. I was so tempted to get it, even though it made no sense. I wasn't looking for a snack, I needed something solid.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.

One thing that bothered me though (and I know maybe I'll get hate for this), is I feel like some of the decor is tone deaf. They have a bunch of colonial men ceramic decor, but they partner with and serve food from a Filipino company. I'm Filipino and it was a bit offensive to me because even if the point of having them is trying to make fun of them, it's not really funny. We were colonized for over 300 yrs and still deal with the trauma from it. Please consider removing the colonial decor. I really enjoyed the bar and want to enjoy it in the future, but I don't think it's necessary to have those things in the bar and doesn't add anything to how cool the bar is apart from that. UPDATE: the bar messaged me. They were super professional and kind in their response. I really appreciate that they were open to my perspective on the colonial items and said they will be removed. Thank you so much!! Looking forward to enjoying the bar in the future
