Amazing Bar. This year has been the year of Mezcal for me. Im still trying to create a cocktail at home based off of Elden Ring and Mezcal has been the spirit I've been experimenting with the most. The Box Social definitely gave me some ideas after hanging out here recently. The drink I got was a Constanza Wallet. Like the menu implied, it was very refreshing. For some reason I really like the combination of Mezcal and Passionfruit together. So when I saw these ingredients in the drink I automatically gravitated towards it. I'm so glad that I did. Theres so many fun elements going on. Theres sweet, maybe a tiny bit of smoke. Citrusy. This cocktail was made for me. Heck this bar was. So many great cocktails on the menu. I really just wanna come back and try them all. But anywho, definitely recommend. Very cool and chill vibes here too. I think what stood out the most was when my wifey was undecided about a drink, the bartender talked her down from one drink because she felt like the flavor profile didn't fit what she was looking for. She wanted some a little sweet but not super super sweet and I think we both appreciated her honesty. I always will appreciate that level of professionalism where you just treat people like humans rather than numbers. So cheers to yall Box Social. See ya again soon!

Visited here for some quick drinks with friends and really loved its vibe. There was plenty of seating and we were able to get one by the window which made for great people watching along Williams. I immediately fell in love with the Die Hard themed flight option and both my friend and I went for that. The fruity mezcal was so good! The rum and burbon ones were also really packed with flavor too. An incredible deal for only $15. Would love to come back again and try their next round of themed cocktails.

Very cool vibes, minimalist bar with high ceiling and a sweet art deco-esque mural. Lots of seating options for a somewhat medium sized space. Nice options for different cocktails pending your liqueur of preference. The Ru Paul Sparkle Pony was right up my alley as a citrus tart loving vodka girl. Very drinkable. My mans got a Whiskey Business which he loved. I'm not big on brown drinks but this was actually tolerable for me. Very smooth nice foam on top from the egg white, the apple juicy sweetness was there but not so overpowering that you lose the spirit. I believe they also serve small bites/food but we didn't try any so can't comment on that. Do recommend as a nice spot for a drink or two.

Stopped in with some friends while waiting for our dinner reservations & happy to say The Box Social has been added to our list of Portland gems. The bartenders were very attentive & the drinks were delicious. I had the Rupaul sparkle pony & it was SO good I wish I had ordered another. The ambiance inside is very open and welcoming & the bathrooms were very clean which I really appreciated. I can't wait to be back the next time I'm in town.

New favorite bar! The ambience is modern and cozy with big windows. They have both outdoors and indoors seating. The bar is huge with many liquor options. Their happy hour menu is full of delicious gems on the food side. We split a Tuna Melt and it's delicious! Came with an arugula salad. Would vouche for their regular drinks menu because they are SO GOOD! We tried the Espresso Martini and the Negroni Fizz and they're bomb, especially the Negroni Fizz. Sweet and refreshing, this was a dangerous drink. The Martini was also very well-rounded and smooth. Can't wait to be back!

This place rocks! Good service, with really cozy, bright and open space! The happy hour was decent and had a delicious tuna melt. Not to mention a wonderful cocktail list, definitely try the negroni fizz!

This is still a solid place to come have a drink in a nice and cozy atmosphere. I haven't had a bad experience here. During this visit, we decided to sit at the counter. I was able to see the bartender at work making some interesting cocktails. We had the Whiskey Business and the n/a time n/a where (non-alcoholic) drinks. I enjoyed the Whiskey Business as it was a light and refreshing drink, which was what I needed to end the evening with.

Great cocktails and food options! On the lighter side with the food/snacks but the quality is great. Cocktails were fantastic! Service was wonderful as well. This is a bright, trendy bar with a great vibe. Not super loud. Good music going as well.

Had a really lovely round of drinks at Box Social! The interior is dark and moody, with tall ceilings and a cool wall mural - a great romantic date spot. I sat outside with my friend in the covered street patios. The staff quickly brought over a propane heater to keep us warm. That was just the start of the staff's excellent service, as they accommodated a special request and treated us with a lot of kindness. The drinks were a pleasant surprise! Not only were they good looking and therefore Instagrammable, but they also tasted really good. And that included a pickle-vodka drink on the cocktail flight. My only wish is that they were bigger for the cost!

We were walking down the street waiting for our turn an Eem, and found this cute cocktail bar. We had 2 rounds of drinks. This is what we tried : Dirty Little thief : 5/5 El guapo : 5/5. Enjoyed the salt rim. Dealers Choice : 4/5 We also really enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip. It came with warm toasted bread.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.

The food is genuinely excellent, way above what most people would consider "bar food." Calling it a bar almost feels wrong anyway. It's much closer to a lounge -- or better yet, someone's very cool living room that just happens to serve great food and drinks. The space is intimate, low-lit, and comfortable in a way that makes you want to settle in and stay a while rather than rotate out for the next group. Drinks are fun, creative, and clearly made with intention. Prices are on the higher side, but that's city dining -- and here it actually feels justified. You're paying for the atmosphere as much as what's in the glass, and in this case the atmosphere delivers. Overall, the ambience is very intimate, relaxed, and just plain cool. The room drops you straight into a version of 1950s America that's been preserved just enough to feel nostalgic without feeling like a museum. Low lighting, wood everywhere, cocktails that feel like they belong in a glass with a heavy base and a quiet sense of purpose. It works, and it works for just about anyone. The drinks are excellent, and the service is generally solid. That said, this is a hotel bar, and it's often staffed by a single bartender, so your experience can vary depending on who's behind the stick that night. I've had great visits here -- the kind where everything flows -- and I've had nights that were just okay. Nothing bad, just inconsistent in a way that comes with the territory. And that's really the crux of it. At the end of the day, this is a hotel bar. Which means drinks come with a premium -- not outrageous, but noticeable. You're paying a bit extra for the setting, for the history, for the fact that it's there when you need it. And while the cocktails are well-made, Portland has no shortage of places doing equally good, if not better, work for the same price or maybe a dollar more. Timing matters here. Weekdays are ideal -- when the room feels like it's yours, when you can actually settle into it. Weekends are a different story. Travelers roll in, rightfully ready to unwind, and suddenly you're competing for space, for attention, for a seat at the bar. So why go? Because when it hits, it really hits. It's a place to lean into the mood a little. Order something off their house cocktail list -- they clearly put thought into it -- and let yourself sink into that old-school rhythm where day drinking feels less like a vice and more like a quiet ritual. It's not perfect. It's not the best value in the city. But it is one of the more distinct experiences you can have -- and sometimes, that's enough.
