We came in for lunch around 11:30 on a Saturday. Super busy! When we walked in the place was very loud and crowded. There was only one table available in a small room with 3 other four-top tables. It was super loud with that many people in such a small space. They definitely try to make use of every inch they have. We're not really 'crowd' people, nor do we enjoy high volume environments where we can't have a conversation without raising our voices. That part of the experience left little to be desired. The staff was super friendly, helpful and attentive. Our water glasses were refilled promptly, and considering how busy they were, our food came out timely. We ordered the club sandwich with fries and a bacon Swiss burger with chili. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. They offer generous portions at affordable prices. Pretty decent breakfast spot in an old house on the corner, drive too fast and you'll miss it. We arrived around 10 am on a Saturday and had no wait. We were greeted and seated promptly in a sunny corner. Being in an old house the tables are kinda close together in sections. I was craving eggs, Benedict, and remembered that I had had one here before. Also came with my husband and had the chicken fried steak, which was really good. Today it was pretty quiet in here. I sat right away and the bus boy brought me a glass of water and a menu. He said the server would be with me. It took him a minute, but he came over. I ordered a mimosa and the eggs Benedict. Crispy hashbrowns please. He brought me my mimosa and a glass of water with ice that I had asked for. I was waiting for my food and had to say excuse me to the waiter, who is on his cell phone, to please bring me another mimosa. Which he did pretty promptly. My Benedict came out in a good time. It wasn't that busy. The egg were cooked perfectly. I would've liked the muffin a little more griddled. The ham was nice and moist. I like the hollandaise sauce here. It's not the real deal, but it is a good one. I would've preferred a little more myself. The server did not come back and ask me if everything was OK. I would've said everything is good, but may I please have some more sauce. At one point, I realized I would like to try their salsa. I might try the huevos rancheros sometime. I asked the best boy and he brought it to me. I sat for quite a while when I was finished eating waiting for the server. He finally spoke to me from the bar and I told him I would like my check. He brought my check right away, but still not clearing my dishes. This is kind of a pet peeve. I was a server for many years. Always check back within three minutes to see if everything is OK. We tried stopping in a couple months ago but it was so busy that we chose to just come back another time and it surprisingly not as "packed" for a Saturday morning. I mean, it was busy but we were able to be seated at the bar top right away. Staff was nice and checked on us once throughout our meal. They were all young adults. Service was really slow. We waited so long for our food that my fitness watch alerted me I was sitting too long and needed to stand up. We got the chicken and waffles and biscuits and gravy. Portions were decent for the price. Everything was tasty but definitely not worth the super long wait for. In home style dining in Vancouver. They sell fresh sourdough as well. The service is nice, and it is really cozy - I'd give 4.5 stars if I could. We ordered take-out from here for Sunday breakfast and got the Mega Skillet with a side of potatoes and the Chilaquiles. Overall the food was great and the pricing is good. There's some parking behind, on the side and in front of the restaurant. Mega Skillet (Great) I really enjoyed this dish. I ordered with scrambled eggs and a side of pancakes but it can also come with vegetables. The pancake side was great, it comes with three and they provide a syrup and butter topping with the take away order. The skillet itself has yummy crispy potatoes, veggies, cheddar cheese, ham and bacon. The serving size was enough to split and be full! Chilaquiles (Good) This was overall every ingredient you would want in chilaquiles, cooked great and topped with eggs over medium (you can have the eggs done any way you like - AWESOME). Enjoyed this but it's definitely a choice for someone who isn't desiring the seasoning of the traditional dish...we needed to add some hot sauce or tabasco to this. The ingredients and the way they were cooked was perfect but this is not seasoned as you would find in a Mexican restaurant just an FYI. Otherwise, I'd recommend I would recommend the restaurant, service seemed solid, food was great, parking is easy. I definitely have this on my list to dine-in for breakfast or dinner. read more

Used to be Christine's cafe before Covid I was hungry and tired and wanted some comfort food upon coming in I was greeted by a young kid who I believe is the new owner son really nice guy. The menu was simple but perfectly portioned and the soup was delicious I will say my only complaint was upon entering tables were not clean and dishes were still left on tables got keep a clean presentation on the front end 1st impressions matter and that threw me off a bit. Service was quick however upon finishing my 1st glass of water I normally place my glass on the outside indicating I'd like a refill the wait for refill was not as quick as I was expecting it took enough bites where my mouth was definitely wanting some water but eventually he did notice and came and refill my drink the family has a very positive attitude and waiter was very engaged over all the experience wasn't terrible minor areas for improvement like checking on guest perhaps a few times while the main course is being consumed and keep the front end as clean as possible the ambiance hasn't changed much which brought me back some peace that Christine place had been known for its peaceful quiet and relaxing over all solid 4/5 and I'll definitely be back again and recommend coming by for a solid breakfast. read more

They must buy small eggs and the toast was just a cheap brown bread not a multigrain. Denny's does better. But the bacon wasn't fresh off the grill. I stood there for close to five minutes. He was equally as slow bringing me my coffee ($4) and taking my order (Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs ($20), but then things improved a bit. The chicken fried steak was decent, but instead of being ¨smothered¨ with country gravy, there was only enough to barely cover the top. She said it was average but later said it didn't sit well with her. I had the simple bfast. The bacon was cold, eggs way over cooked for over-easy, and the pancakes had a weird texture to them. The only thing that I liked was the deep fried hash browns. I was really excited that a bfast place opened where a really successful one once was. Nothing has changed in the decor. Same wall paper, same chairs, same bar. What has changed unfortunately is the quality of the food and service. Recently relocated to Vancouver and hunting for my breakfast spot. Parking is tight, but I was able to easily park my full sized truck. The restaurant itself is a converted house. It's very cute and gives off a Mom's House kind of feel. The service was great, I received a water and coffee almost bad I walked in the door. My server was attentive but got busy and forgot one of my requests. Now the information stuff, the food. I ordered the California Omelette, I needed some veggies in my life. It did not disappoint, the avocado was fresh and the omelette had a lot of onions and peppers. For my sides I chose crispy hash browns, done perfectly, and a biscuit and gravy. The gravy tasted like it was from a mix and not doctored much. The biscuits was soft and delicious, but I don't think it was baked on site. Overall, Victoria's was great and I will be back to try other menu items. read more

(having owned and operated several of my own restaurants) We had to wait 1/2 hour to be seated because tables weren't cleaned as people left and I actually had to go up and request the table to be cleaned so we could be seated. Also once seated it took another 20 minutes for the wait person to come take our order we ordered our food drinks and it took 15 minutes to get the drinks and the food arrived in another 30 minutes. I had to get up to ask for more coffee. Unfortunately the food was good and we won't be back for another visit. Really sad the service was so bad!!! I ended up bussing our table so I could box my left overs. We always tip generously but no tip was given. New staff might help??? read more

Victoria's Place is a quaint hole in the wall breakfast stop that brings in a lot of traffic. Now I see why. The breakfast is reasonably priced and you get a good portion for your buck. I got Victoria's breakfast and it was only $20. Everything was delicious, for the most part. My only cons to this spot were the eggshells I almost swallowed in my pancakes. The pancakes were delicious though. Then the server wasn't necessarily nice, but he wasn't rude. He didn't check to make sure I was getting everything I needed. I had to wave him down after waiting a long time to give him my order and to get my check and to pay.
