Going out to brunch with the family is always special as my parents are really getting up there in age and my sister lives all the way down in Salem. My parents had been here before for happy hour and really enjoyed sitting out on the deck, overlooking the beautiful golf course. So of course, we had a perfect table with a lovely view on a relaxing Saturday afternoon. We got there at 1:30 PM and lunch service starts at 2:00 PM. Our server Rory, was very professional and attentive. He seemed to sense whenever we needed anything. I had a particular request, I ordered the prawn shrimp Louie salad, and my request was that the kitchen take the tails off of the prawns for me. I just really hate having to do that myself at a restaurant and getting my fingers all messy. Plus I was wearing white. So you see, diva treatment was necessary. Everyone at the table except my mom ordered salads and got their food first. Ta da! Rory and the kitchen totally came through for me. No tails on my prawns. The salad was beautifully presented. I don't know why my dumb Yelp brain didn't take a picture of it but at least I got a picture of it before I gobbled it down. I will say this, the service at the Hickory, the ambience overlooking the beautiful golf course and I confided in Rory that the prawn shrimp Louie was the best salad I've ever had. Seriously, the best. I hope the weather is nice towards the end of September so we can take my dad there for his birthday. Fore! now I'll just daydream about that awesome salad. Thank you Rory and staff! 2024 - Review #13

Food, drinks and service were phenomenal. Hot honey chicken sando is one of the best chicken Sandos I've ever had and spicy ginger margarita is a must try.

Come here if you need something lowkey but delicious! Sat at the bar and enjoyed the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken (I asked for extra well done). Quiet spot to have good drinks and a great meal!

Lovely and cozy! Food and drinks on point and staff that are so friendly and provide excellent service. There needs to be more restaurants like this one! Also, exceptional cocktails that you don't have to wait long for a handcrafted drink. Servers made sure we were taken care of and weren't annoyed by us not being ready to place our order. A great place to unwind and take some stress off your shoulders in a classy but unpretentious way!

Local favorite - always a great view from the heated and screened in back deck overlooking the 18th hole. I don't golf but I love this spot for simple Americana food, consistently solid cocktails, and great service. Well managed and staffed public golf restaurant and gem for the Camas community.

Came in the other night for a drink with 3 others. We had a total of 7 drinks and it was a total of $91.00. Pretty spendy but the view is not too bad. I love the golf course but one of the reasons why I don't go here a lot to eat or drink anymore is that the prices are way too high. But when minimum wage is like $20.00 and you have to pay good workers $25.00 for them to stick around I understand. Either way, still a great place to go sit on the patio on a nice evening.

Unfortunately we came on a night there was a wedding and asked to sit on the patio. This was ruined shortly by the wedding down below singing horrible karaoke for a hour straight. It was also got very windy so watch the weather before you request outside. Charcuterie board was tasty and good for 2-3 people, I ordered the GF Bolognese it was not very tasty. Actually pretty bland. I thought bolognese was a red meat sauce it was not red was just ground beef in an oily sauce... husband ordered short ribs he described them as "alright". Food was good overall I think we just ordered the wrong things for our tastes!

We went for brunch and their menu was perfect, it had a little of something for everybody. A mix of lunch and breakfast items. I love my Spanish Coffees, and if they come with a cinnamon sugar rim, you know I believe they deserve five stars! I also enjoyed the Crab Cake Benedict. Our server was fantastic, patient, accommodating and attentive. Not an easy feat when dealing with eight people including a nine year old and a baby! There was a lot of room and a beautiful view of the golf course. My husband and I plan on returning when the weather is warmer to enjoy their wrap around deck seating.

This restaurant sounded promising based on the photos and reviews but it fell a little flat. We ordered the sliders, swordfish, halibut fish and chips, and chicken lettuce wraps. The food wasn't bad but both fish and the beef were dry and over-cooked. Maybe the chef was having an off day I'm not sure, but for the price I was expecting a lot more.

However, it seems like lately the quality of the food and the service have suffered after they raised their prices. Foodwise, just within this month, I had to return a Chicken Fried Steak that was like a shoe sole. Looks like it had been sitting there for quite some time. They did replace it with a fresh one which was good. Recently though, I ordered some Halibut Fish & Chips. Again, they were overcooked, burnt, and barely edible. Service wise, I counted 9 staff memembers congregated around the cash register just joking around and not paying attention to customers. On some nights, they start stacking the chairs on the stand alone tables, way before closing time. Nothing is more unwelcoming than that. What has happened to the diner? Have they changed ownership or something? It's sad, but customers will quickly tire of the declining food and service. There are however, some of the oldest wait staff that I have to commend for their service.

I don't hand out lower reviews without much pause and consideration. We stopped in here a few weeks ago for the first time for a Sunday morning breakfast. We all know my #1 favorite meal of the week is my Sunday brunch. I need eggs cooked correctly, food served hot, good coffee, and at minimum - a smile. We walked in and met with a look of disgust. I was actually uncomfortable at how unwelcome we felt. We were nearly shooed away into an uncomfortable booth and provided with sticky and dirty menus. We very obviously inconveniencing the waitress when we asked for coffees and water. Ice-less water arrived with lukewarm coffee. He ordered an omelette. I ordered a standard breakfast with ham. The one-star review was redeemed with the fact they did cook my eggs correctly. The rest was just rubbish. The hash browns were cold and mushy. The ham was tough and served cold. The "toast" seemed to lack being toasted... odd. He took about 6 bites of his omelette and put down his fork. We both declined a box to take home the leftovers. Ridiculously overpriced but they were sure happy to point out where and how to tip for their three visits to our table. This is a hard no. We won't be back. They have a unique menu in the Lounge, and the wings are superior! And the sauce is amazing. Cause if you like it strong, you know what to get or if want a lighter drink, as Tiki can be intense, you don't end up sabotaging yourself. Haha. I wish there was a half star option, as the only real ding here was that they don't seat in the lounge without your whole party (and yes, I get that there's a time limit, so I suppose that they are trying to make sure everyone has time), but, there's nowhere to wait, so was left standing by the door for some time. I asked the woman who answered the phone if they use cinnamon to catch their drinks on fire. She said "we have a drink on our menu with a cinnamon stick in it." I tried to clarify the question, & was immediately met with attitude followed by "yes there is cinnamon in the drink." I was frustrated, thanked her & hung up. No answers. My friend decided to try themselves stating that maybe they were misunderstanding the question. A different person answered, he explained that he was planning on coming in with someone with a cinnamon allergy & asked the question yet again. Further asking if it was only in the speakeasy or also the main restaurant. They responded stating "yeah, We have cinnamon in our building. I don't think we are the place for you" & continued to hangup. SO if anyone has any answers that would be great as we still haven't gotten any. We DID go in. I was hoping we would be able to see for ourselves & had been looking forward to checking it out. Sat in the main restaurant & received slow service in an empty restaurant from a server that was standoffish & made it seem as though we were a burden. Decided that we would go somewhere else instead. We each had one drink & left. I left 2 stars because i like the ambience & understand people have bad days. Although i also work in the service industry & know that i myself wouldn't try to make someone else feel like this.
