Elite dining experience for extra special occasions (or if $$$ no object). Everything about our…read morevisit said luxe. Service was impeccable with a smile. We ordered their "go-to" item which is the ribeye steak: 12 full ounces of tasty tender boneless beef served on a bed of mashed potatoes. Accompaniments were a large pickled onion slice & grilled cauliflower & broccoli crowns. We ordered the steak medium but it was cooked more like medium rare. The soup & salad were some of the best openers I've had. And the chocolate mousse dessert did not disappoint. Portions were enormous. So why not 5 stars? The setting while nice, can't compare to other fine dining places that look out on rivers, fields, etc. Here we get views of a busy intersection and a strip mall parking lot. For the prices charge, one would hope for a better setting. And the extreme prices will set most folks back over $100 per diner (assuming full meals, drinks, dessert, tax & gratuities). As initially stated, this restaurant is worth it for special occasions or if cost is not a concern.

It was my first time dining at this restaurant. I don't often crave for steak, but Roots would…read moredefinitely won me over for their tasty steaks. They offer only medium to medium-rare. I would prefer something a little bit more done. But their steaks definitely do not disappoint. I have been to other steak houses in the Portland area. Roots beats other famous Portland steak houses by their flavor, tenderness, service, atmosphere and portion size. However, their menu items are quite pricey. My steak was nicely cooked and seasoned. The mashed potato and veggies were excellent. They topped the steak with couple pickled onion rings which was quite refreshing. And don't forget the garlic infused butter served with the steak. It was wonderful. I had my wedge salad while my husband had their soup of the day. It was a big salad which Ai appreciate. The blue cheese crumbles and salad dressing was fantastic. The chocolate mousse dessert was a piece of art. It was quite big and can be easily shared with another person. The atmosphere inside was nice and modern in a warm sense. The servers were very attentive. I am not sure what brand of root beer do they serve but it was very good.

I checked this place out. Website has cans from Anchorage on their add on YT (amazing beer btw),…read morebut as you can see from their "live" ( that word is doing a LOT of heavy lifting here). There is NOTHING on that tap list even CLOSE to Anchorage caliber. It just suggests that these guys are hoping to lure people in under false pretenses. No prices listed on their menu or website, so again just bad business practice bc they know what they have is bad. They have a ton of local beers and from breweries that have been around a long time now but havent done anything special in forever, lots of their IPA's hovering below 7%, or even 6. I've been drinking good beer for years now, and the best ones here are nothing I seek out anymore, and only drink when there's nothing better. The bar at this place is clearly very very low. If you want good beer, go to a good bottle shop, ask for good beer from out of state. You'll get individual cans/bottles so they won't lose carbonation, but the quality will be vastly superior, and I'd bet the same or better prices. This tap room looks like every other one of these pop-ups that have been around the last 10 years or so. Fine if you like a specific beer and you're headed out to get gas and beer for an event that day, but I'll never go to this spot nor any like it. I'll go a day or week before to a bottle shop and get something me and my friends will really enjoy.

When you buy 64oz for over $30 you would at least expect 64oz. I've been buying here a lot but it…read morelooks like I need to find another place with draft beer.
