I've always liked this indoor and outdoor space as a location, but this food sucks folks. Service is good, but this is not even close to Mexican, TexMex, whatever ...the rice and beans taste like old bacon grease, and the enchiladas ( two kinds) have barely any sauce and were just dry.. I had seen the molcjete bowl on Yelp from someone else and decided to come by and check it out. We were seated right away. Soon the waiter gave us some waters and took our drink orders. Just so you know this place does not serve you chips and salsa. You have to order it an pay for it. I got the enchiladas with pork. The enchiladas were filled with little bite size pieces of pork. The pork was kind of chewy and not tender. Really not a lot of pork in it at all. The rice was ok and the beans were not bad. Not bad for $15.00 She liked her molcajete bowl. I have to say it looked huge and she said it was pretty good. She thought that the shrimp was cut up into small pieces and she really liked the strips of steak. Overall the service was good. The place seemed clean. It was pretty busy when we arrived as well. Not to sure if I will make it back it worth a try. read more

Went first thing when they opened and it was just us and one other table of people inside. So of course service was incredibly fast as well as from the time we ordered to the time we were played was pretty quick as well. My husband loved his tacos and I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken and cheese enchiladas. I always substitute for a flour tortilla and it wasn't soggy so points for that. I was really optimistic when we came into Senior Taps. We got seated right away, and the service was great the whole visit. We started with a margarita. It was massive and it was delicious! I got an appetizer of the street corn. It was served cold (not a deal breaker), but it came with way more chips than corn. The Chile Rellenos was my main dish. It was cooked well, and the cheese blend was good, but the sauce was way too tangy, like the sweetness level was pushed over the top. It was so close to being a good dish. The tacos were sub par. The chicken tastes like the flavor was boiled out of it, the beef had generic taco seasoning, and the birria tasted like a carrot stew. Kinda gross across the board. We will come back for the margarita flight, but will probably pass on eating here again. read more

This was my first visit. The margaritas were amazing! We started with the queso dip. At first it was very runny, but as it cooled it thickened. Added the meat and jalapeños. Oh so yummy!! The quesbirria tacos were delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly. The dip was flavorful. Probably one of our favorites! Loved the Enchiladas Rústicas! I was worried they would be too bland with just cheese, but the spicy red sauce on the tortillas was amazing! Something new we tried was the Cochinita Pibil. The flavor was out of this world, especially paired with their green sauce! The sopes, although great flavor, were more difficult to eat. Do you use a fork and knife? Do you pick them up? We weren't sure and couldn't find the best way. Overall, excellent restaurant and service! We may be biased because we love Emilio! read more

The drinks and food were a bit on the pricier side but what isn't in this economy at this point. Food was yummy and drinks were definitely worth. We got the Cadillac margarita and lemon drop, delish! I am sad to write this review because I was so excited that Señor Taps was coming to Felida. Based on reviews of the owners other restaurants I thought this would be our new go to neighborhood spot, but after eating there tonight I don't think that will be happening. SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE- Overall the service was okay. Our server was nice, but she didn't bring our drinks until we got the main dishes. This was after we finished our appetizer AND had to remind her by waving her down and asking if we could get our drinks (to which her response was, "oh sure"). Do they typically wait to bring refreshments until your meal arrives??? As for the decor, it is very basic. It seems the same as Mt. Tabor, but with a mural on the wall. FOOD - We started with the guacamole and chips. I also asked for all salsas to try. Everything was tasteless except the heat that came from the habanero salsa. I don't think they even put salt and pepper in the guacamole. It was just chunky avocado. My husband and I both ordered the wet burrito. He had asada and I had the slow cooked pork. My husband liked his, but mine had no flavor. Even putting salsa on it did not help. On the plus side, the burritos are large. I took half home for my husband to eat because I have no desire to finish it. I will try again and hope to get something that is more flavorful. If not, then it is back to Farrar's. read more

We've been to Senor Taps several times. Since we live down the street, I like to support our local eateries . Food is very good. Rice and beans are tasty. Salsa very good. The drinks are fun. Went here twice with my family. The first time was ok. Wanted to try the lunch menu. When we went inside there was absolutely nobody in there on a Tuesday. The lunch menu has good prices. We ordered the chips and salsa that had free refills BUT the second refill had a long curly black hair in the chips and turned me off, I couldn't eat anything else. So... anyway- outside patio is nice. Inside has the worst acoustics. Mexican food restaurants tend to be loud to begin with. This place is smaller than others and somehow amplifies the loud chatter. Exceeded my expectations, based on reading previous reviews. The meats on the 3 wet burritos and fajita salad were tender and not overcooked/dry. The quality of the food was good, and better than most Mexican restaurants. The portions are large. The veggie quesadilla was excellent, over-stuffed with vegetables, including broccoli, carrots, caramelized onions. The veggie quesadilla was not overly cheesy. For a Mexican restaurant to have so few Mexican beers available is an embarassment. The food was mediocre. $14 for a plate of bland/chunky guacamole and stale/oily chips? We each got three, a la carte tacos and they were less than average. Shrimp ones were OK but carnitas and carne asada tacos were as dry as bones. $70 for the guacamole, two draft beers each and three a la carte tacos each. Would much rather eat at Little Conejo in downtown Vancouver or Little Conejo Norte (Bunnies) in Ridgefield. read more

We went on a Thursday night and it was BUSY. With this in mind, we expected a bit of a wait for service. We were sat within about 10 minutes which was nice, but our server didn't come by for an additional 10 minutes. She took our drink order and we ordered chips and salsa. It took another 15 minutes to get our drinks and 45 (!!) minutes to get the chips. Our meal came out within 15 minutes of being ordered. The food itself was tasty but a little overpriced. We've tried Senor Taps 4 times now this year, and every time there's been a little something wrong. There the last time was the final straw. This last visit started out o.k., but when they brought out the order, the brought my wife the wrong burrito, and when we pointed it out to the staff that brought it, she replied, "I don't know what was on your order, I didn't take it". It took another good ten minutes for them to bring out the correct burrito. As if that wasn't bad enough, the next day I had some pretty bad reactions that required frequent trips to the bathroom, which experience has taught is the result of food issues, and Senor Taps was the likely culprit. Before that on previous visits, there has always been something that was at issue. Their Gordita is terrible, not even close to being prepared correctly, instead of slicing into the bread, they just wedge 2 slices together, and the fillings had a serious lack of protein filling. Before that there was some other dish they brought out that turned out to be pretty unappealing, can't remember what that one was called. It's just always been something with this place. I'd like to like them, as their local to us, but I don't forgive food poisoning from any place, ever. read more

I was hopeful that this place would be good, but I was left extremely disappointed. The food was terrible, and definitely unlike any Mexican food I've ever had. We had wet burritos with carne asada and al pastor, and an order of carnitas tacos. The meat was flavorless and not the greatest quality. The salsa provided for the meal was watered down and bland. There is not one thing I can say that was good about this place. We are originally from Los Angeles and know what good Mexican food tastes like...this place is not it. The service could use significant improvement--waitstaff were unfriendly and slow, and it took a long time for our orders to arrive. Basic essentials like silverware and napkins weren't provided unless specifically requested. Solid 3.5 star place which is huge considering it's just recently opened. Was very busy and very loud and I say that in a boisterous / fun way not obnoxiously loud but fair warning all the same. Beer and cider were ICE cold, like noticeably colder than anywhere around which was fantastic. The queso appetizer did come out a bit cold but again, new place so likely that will be sorted out soon enough. Takes a while to get drinks when its slammed but the food came out super fast. Tacos were great and loaded up. Can accommodate larger groups with some table shuffling but be prepared to wait for that. No doubt this will be a solid 4 to 4.5 star place with a few more months under their belt and it's a welcome addition to the area. Will definitely be going back soon. read more
