What an improvement from my last visit! We came in and received much better service! The guys working were friendly and took our order pretty quick. We started with the loaded baked potato soup. It was just the thing for a cold day. I got the fish and chips. The fish was meaty and thick, but cooked well with a light batter. Very tasty. I'm looking forward to coming back for another great meal! Good food, good service! read more

I'm updating my review to 4 stars. While my original experience had some frustrations, I truly appreciate the way the owner personally reached out with a handwritten note and a follow-up phone call to address my concerns. That level of care and accountability is rare--most business owners don't take that extra step. It meant a lot to feel heard, and I'm hopeful that my feedback will help improve the experience moving forward. Because of that effort, I would definitely consider giving them another try. read more

Wonderful menu, great service, locally owned, great NW menu options, family friendly. Highly recommended

My sister, friend, and I decided to come for drinks and appetizers. We got seated outside quickly, but it went downhill soon after. We had such poor service tonight. We were totally ignored after a brief greeting and then responded to in a condescending way when we inquired about drink flavors. It was weird and we felt like we were an inconvenience while we waited for our server to acknowledge us. He was so busy chatting with and helping two other tables and walked past us multiple time without even making eye contact. We finally were able to order drinks when he was going to get drinks for his other table, but we cashed out right away and left after we drank them. It was a crappy feeling. We went somewhere else and had a much better experience and left a big tip. I'm not sure what it was that made him pay so much attention to the other tables and ignore us; maybe they were regulars. But it definitely makes me not want to return. read more

Ordered the fish & chips 2 piece. When it came it was seriously over-cooked and hard as a rock. Our server offered to take it back, but we were time-constrained. I ate a few fries, which were good, and that was it. No offer to cut something off the price. No word from the cook!! I will never go there again and neither will the other four ladies I was with. One other diner at our table had the same fish and chips and hers was equally awful. read more

Walked in for lunch and sat at the bar. Bartender was very attentive as soon as we sat down and was helpful choosing drinks and food. Had tue cider on tap and other canned that recommended. Ordered the pull pork sandwich and the steak sandwich - they did not disappoint! The place felt causal at lunch but it definitely looks like it becomes classier in the evening. Looking forward to trying out HH or dinner! read more

We went for a happy hour and we were not disappointed! Our server was sweet and welcoming and just wonderful. I'm so bummed I can't remember her name. We split the pulled pork sandwich, the coconut shrimp, and the spring salad and it was all delicious. And the margarita was better than anything I've had in a very long time super fresh. They make their homemade juice and mix there. Highly recommend! And we will be back read more

Gluten free review: We stopped at Farrar's Bistro to get a bite and a drink and it didn't disappoint! We got the steak bites topped with fried onions, fried chicken bites, and a wedge salad. I give the chicken bites a 5 out of 5. They were juicy and full of flavor. The steak bites I give a 4 out of five a little chewy but I would order them again (the fried onion on top is gluten free), the wedge salad was delicious as well. I give it a 5 out of 5. The gorgonzola dressing was Devine! Thick and full of flavor... And for the topper, Ghostfish beer! Then at the end our wonderful server stated they had a yummy Reese's brownie sundae! I felt like I was cheating but nope! It was gluten free (not dairy free). The ambience is warm and comforting. If you were even remotely close to this area, I would definitely stop in. The service is great. The food is great. Everything is great. Head that way and thank me later! read more

What a great little gem in Felida! I had driven by this restaurant so many times yet never stepped in, and boy was I missing out! I'm comparing to what I would expect out of a local restaurant not a downtown spot or big city spot. Food 4/5: - the deviled eggs are to die for - salmon ceasar salad was delicious and fresh - meat loaf was pretty good! Better than most meat loafs but not mind blowing - creme brûlée cheesecake was divine Service: 3/5 Pretty good! A few hiccups but overall attentive Cocktails: 5/5 - really creative menu and the old fashioned is one of the best I've had Ambiance: 5/5 - definitely a top spot for a date night or dinner with friends but I also felt just fine having my kiddo there read more

10/10 absolute gem of a place. Outdoor seating is stunning, I have yet to try something that isn't amazing. Hugo spritz, sweet potato fries, eggs, steak bites, you name it and it's got my stamp of approval. read more

As a Black woman, I wonder if the service was bad due to my race. My table was treated differently than the other tables who were met with friendliness and patience. The waiter treated my table as if we were not worth his time and we were left feeling ignored while waiting for our order to be taken. Service was so bad that we cut our time short and decided to leave and eat at a different restaurant. read more

Delicious food. Lovely ambience. Close to home. Ordered Italian Chopped Salad for appetizers. Large portion. Enough for my husband and I. Entrees we ordered were the ribeye and salmon. We turned it into a surf and turd by asking for an extra plate. Wanted to have dessert, but we were stuffed. Next time we'll forego the salad so we can try the creme brulee cheesecake. Will be back. Next time we'll try to chicken pot pie and their meatloaf. Heard great things about both. CHEERS to great food at a popular neighborhood spot! read more

First time in, most likely the last. We've been wanting to try Farrar's for a while now given the good reviews, and the menu looked promising. I'll start with the food - with the wide range of menu options I expected there to be some experience in the kitchen. Unfortunately, both our plates fell short. Some call outs - the broccoli was so hard I could barely cut it with my knife, pork was dry, and the macaroni mostly flavorless, but stale as well. I won't get into the details on the rest, since everyone has an off night. The bigger issue was how dirty the glassware was. The carafe of water they placed on our table had visible dirt on the rim. Same with the glass of beer - visible caked on gunk inside the glass. I'm always willing to overlook mediocre service, and even food, but never cleanliness. read more

I've been wanting to check this place out for months now and finally has the opportunity to do so last night. It's quite a drive for us but my husband and I couldn't think of anywhere else to go so we decided to finally make it out this way. We got there around 7:30 or so and the restaurant was super busy so we sat in the bar, which was also super packed and busy. We got lucky and were able get the last 2 seats at the bar top that just opened up. The place is kinda dark, parking lot is super small. Such great customer service! We were greeted right away by the bartender who quickly wiped down the bar top for us. He was so nice and so friendly and gave us time to look over the menu without us feeling rushed. I believe his name is Reese? That's what was on our receipt. Had 2 drinks and an entree and appetizer and everything was so good! But also pricey! The food we ordered was so flavorful and seasoned well. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu! read more

Adorable with great soft lighting. The bar is a cool space with the restaurant more intimate. The drinks were fantastic for me and my date. The food was also amazing except the Alfredo was bland but ok. The rest of the food was so good and it wasn't my order so still 5 starts for me. The salmon wontons are worth coming back!!!! read more

This place has been on my to-do list for a long time, so I'm glad my wife and I were able to make it out last week. I wasn't really even sure what to expect from the cuisine here, as "bistro" has turned out to mean a lot of different things over the years, in our experience. Other than a somewhat aloof hostess who gave off a bit of a grumpy vibe, service was timely and competent. My wife went with the pulled pork sandwich, and while I waffled over about four different entrées, I decided to be a basic bitch and order the cheeseburger; at the very least, it gives me a good baseline to judge a restaurant's competence. We also split the smoked salmon wontons, and a cocktail apiece. Everything arrived at the table in the correct order, and in due time. The wontons were utterly fantastic; that Thai cream cheese should be sold on store shelves, because it would fly off of them...it's that good! The pulled pork was everything my wife wanted it to be: among the best she'd ever had, she claimed. And my basic burger? Not basic at all. Perfectly juicy, and will all the right touches of condiments in the correct quanities. If I don't have to ask you for a bottle of A1 steak sauce, it's a damn good burger. Even the slice of pickle that accompanied it was above the bar! Looking at images of other entrées that have come and gone over the years, it's obvious that Farrar's Bistro keeps things fresh, seasonal, and never rests on their laurels. That explains why they've managed to stick around for so many years, and collect as many accolades accolades and great reviews as they have. I'm only sorry that we haven't stopped in sooner, but I'm sure that we will be back regularly to try out new things. I mean, I still have to redeem myself for ordering such a basic dish, at the very least. read more

Such a cute place with delicious food and warm, friendly staff! We stopped in for lunch around 12:30 on a Saturday. We opted to sit outside on their gorgeous patio. They have sails across the top, making for a nice amount of shade. Our only gripe was the air handler out on the patio...it was blowing warm air and made some weird noises. It needs some sort of vertical ventilation system or an encasement around it. It wasn't bothersome enough not to return, just a little annoying. Our server, Ashlyn H, was wonderful! She was so friendly, smiley, and attentive. She had a wonderful personality. We haven't found that much when dining out lately. It's sad because I don't think some servers realize how much their service can make or break the dining out experience. Props to Ashlyn! We ordered the Caesar salad ($12) with steak bites ($15), grilled cod tacos ($12 for 2 tacos), GOW IPA ($7 for pint) and the triple chocolate cake ($10) with a scoop of Tillamook vanilla ice cream ($3). Everything was delicious! Loved the Caesar dressing, and the steak bites were cooked perfectly. My husband thought they lacked grill marks, but the flavor was there. He enjoyed his fish tacos. He liked the cajun seasoning on the cod. We both devoured the triple chocolate cake with whipped cream, ice cream, and sliced strawberries...so yummy! Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. The service, food, and atmosphere will definitely entice a return visit. Would highly recommend! read more

Super dead for a Friday night, but all good. There was live music outside, but we opted to dine indoors due to the heat from the day. Our server was the bubbly woman at the front who also sat us. The smoked salmon wontons were a different taste. The Thai cream cheese (and other spices) gave the dish a sweet taste overall, but still good to enjoy. The sauce on the chicken teriyaki bowl was light and flavorful, not thick like many others. The Steak Fritesta was great as pictured. I don't think I would have enjoyed the fries on top. And the aioli was very mayonnaise forward, but the black bean salsa was excellent! read more

We have come here several times throughout our time living in the area. 1st few times were good, seems like the quality of their food has fallen significantly. Tonight's dinner was mediocre. Soup of the day was clam chowder but clams were no where to be found. So more like a potato bacon? The crostini with the Gorgonzola cheesecake had a wry fish flavor to them which was off setting. Mac and cheese - kraft makes a better one (server forgot to put in the order so came much later) steak bowl meat was med rare at best ( more on the rare side and there was NO Gorgonzola cheese "crumble".... So disappointed that this place has fallen off our go to list.usually a busy place at 7:00 was empty - says a lot. Worn be back read more

Came to town to visit a couple friends and had a couple of hours to kill before we met up so I came here. This place is so ADORABLE. I love the wood and dried flowers look and the ambience is lovely. It's a perfect date night spot for sure, or if you want something a little fancy. Plenty of parking too plus an additional overflow lot just a few feet down. Wait times were astoundingly short, especially for a semi-busy Thursday night. I practically just ordered my appetizer and it was already on my table. The food is amazing and beautifully plated! I appreciate the thought and effort that went into setting the plate!I got the steak with fries and I'm sad that I won't be able to have this dish back home. I'm actually dreading the thought of not getting this steak. But above and beyond was ASHLYN . Her service was what made me fall in love with the place. Right when I walked in, she flashed me such a sweet smile and a warm welcome. Her energy was so positive like she was so happy to be here, and all her tables noticed. I don't think I saw even one unhappy table. I told her I'm not from around here and wanted to treat myself and immediately she was recommending her favorite dishes and even some modifications that she thought would really be a treat. Even she made a cocktail that is no longer on the menu because she thought I would like it. Guess what, I did! Honestly all the staff here had the same energy she had. They were all hustling and so sweet! They all took the time to give all their guests some one-on-one attention and make sure everyone was taken care of. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. Owners, you better fight to keep this girl around and keep her happy. I wish I had her on my team back home!! read more

We had a very unfortunate experience this evening at Farrars. When presented with the bill my husband had a gift card that was given to him by dear friends for his birthday. However, we were told the gift card would not be accepted by the owner. I spoke to the owner who was not at all courtesy to as a long-time regular customer who lives a few blocks away from the restaurant. As a result, we will never again frequent this neighborhood establishment. As a recommendation, Amaros in Hazel Dell has great food, professional team of staff, and honors gift cards! Food is decent...The burgers and sandwiches are good. But the salads are underwhelming and extremely overpriced for their portions. Don't get to go orders because they can't seem to get all the items right. We've ordered to-go twice and they always forget an appetizer or a side that was ordered. Their solution is always for us to drive back and get the items...but who has time for that after they drove all the way home? Also, the hostess whose name starts with a T was condescending. This place could be great, but it really lacks consistency and class. We won't be back. read more
