I love a good reuben sandwich and this place has a great one. It's big and flavorful and you won't leave hungry! The service I had was great and attentive. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that the interior of the restaurant is showing its age and needs some TLC.

Driven by it a zillion times and finally gave it a try. Got the $15 lunch burger and it was OK. The service was good and the venue was a funky roadhouse vibe. Overall it was just OK.

Service was fantastic. Sam was our server. Very attentive and oh so personable. Also we ordered the pot roast. Was not disappointed. Very juicy moist and satisfying. The baked potato was cooked to perfection. Would definitely come here again. The peanuts on the floor gives it a real authentic feel.

This place is absolutely amazing, this nostalgic place takes you back in time. As you can see from one of the pictures, they have a menu with a telephone at every table although they don't work it's a really cool vibe. To be able to take your kids or grandkids there and show them what it used to be like when we were young.. The staff was amazing very polite, very helpful with the menu something you don't always get in today's restaurant experience. I happened upon this place as I was driving through to go pick up a load further north in Washington state. I would much rather stop and eat here at Dad's. Than to spend my money at some corporation that feeds you crap. Anytime in my adventures across the country if I'm able to stop at a family owned restaurant you bet I will be there. The food was great, service was with gratitude! I suggest you try the jalapeño stuffed tots. They were really good. So if you happen through this small little town in Washington state, I think this is the place you'd wanna stop! Enjoy!!!

I was in Vancouver on business for four nights and tried fancy, expensive restaurants. Billygan's was my best experience! I sat in the bar and enjoyed a delicious Tom Collins. Ordered the lemon pepper salmon with baked potato and steamed broccoli. It all came out super hot and fresh and delicious!! Tender, crispy crust salmon, fluffy baked potato with perfect coarse-salted skin, and a very very generous side of broccoli! Also loved the warm honey roll with butter. Special shout out to my server, Audrey, who was a delight! Kind and attentive. Would definitely eat here again.

Kind of a divey place, they give you a bowl of nuts and complimentary rolls with honey butter, so good! I wish they brought more! But the seating areas are dimly lit, and we didn't get any plates for the bread. The prime rib and mashed potatoes tasted great, I was pleased with the 8oz portion. My husband ordered the New York steak and it was a little overcooked, but it still tasted good and the baked potato was good too. Good service from our waitress, I'd try it again, knowing it's by no means a fancy place but has good steak at a reasonable price.

Dinner with my son. He loves the rolls with the butter/ honey

Our food was outstanding! We ordered a brie that had a fabulous fig sauce on top and then also we ordered a burger. That was absolutely incredible! We originally found the Sedgwick on a cold winter's night in 2023. We stopped in for what we planned was a quick appetizer and drink. We ended up staying for dinner at the bar. The bar is well lit and very classy. The staff is dressed appropriately. Drinks are very good but do take a minute to craft. They are on the pricy side. The food is absolutely wonderful. Truly. Excellent food, excellent chef. However, for the portion size, it's pricey. One can understand they are doing this intentionally to maintain a higher class of patrons but the tab was a bit jarring. We've been back a couple times, took friends once. They enjoyed it but they too, did mention the prices. Great place in the heart of downtown. We'll be back. Hopefully they'll adjust portions to match their pricing.

Pro tip: Do yourself a favor and specifically ask for Scott when you make your reservation. We ordered from the Prime Hour menu, which is an absolute bargain. You get to choose between soup or salad, two different entrees, and two different desserts. We both went with the seafood Tagliatelle, and wow. It was so rich, generously loaded with halibut, scallops, shrimp, and prosciutto in an incredible lemon pasta sauce. Note for future diners: They do automatically include a 20% service charge on the bill. However, Scott's service was so exceptional that we happily tipped extra on top of it. Save your pennies, do yourself a favor, and book a table ASAP. You won't regret it!

Most customers naturally assume a charge of that size is a gratuity for the staff who provided the service. Structuring it otherwise creates a misleading impression and lacks the transparency I expect from a high-end restaurant. I have no issue paying for excellent food, service, or even higher menu prices. What I object to is a pricing practice that appears designed to make customers believe they are rewarding the servers when they are not. Trust is a critical part of any fine dining experience, and this policy has completely eroded mine. Because of it, I will never return to El Gaucho.

I was absolutely in food heaven here. We made a reservation in advance, and wow, I'm so glad we…read moredid! We were provided with complimentary tomato bisque in cute little cups to start off the meal. It had a nice, light spicy kick that immediately got things going. We ordered the clam chowder with bone marrow, and this was absolutely the best clam chowder we have ever had. The dish comes with a cooked bone marrow on top that you're meant to scrape into the chowder, along with five medium clams still in their shells. Remove everything from the shells, scrape that glorious bone marrow into the chowder, and give it a really good stir. Keep the bone in the bowl for the extra flavor. Then enjoy what might be the best clam chowder of your life. We also ordered the beef tongue, which was another amazing appetizer. The combination of horseradish, tiny potato salad, capers, crispy little pork rind pieces, and the sauce on top of the beef tongue was SO flavorful. I was, indeed, back in divine food heaven. For our entrees and sides, we ordered the green beans, skirt steak, and pork chop. The green beans had an Asian-inspired preparation with fish sauce, cashews, and Thai basil. They were incredibly flavorful, with the Thai basil adding a nice freshness. The skirt steak was perfectly cooked to medium and seasoned beautifully with smoky flavors. The accompanying chimichurri added a fresh, herby contrast. And then there was the pork chop, which was a hugeeeee surprise! Our waitress told us it was one of their most popular dishes, and now I understand why. It was huge, perfectly cooked, beautifully grilled, and served with a slightly sweeter sauce that worked so well with the pork. We ended the meal with sorbet, which was fantastic and a refreshing way to finish everything. My life is complete!

Consistently one of my favorite restaurants because of their incredible quality, flavors (Spanish,…read moreFrench, Italian-influenced Argentinian fare), and atmosphere - this was a new experience with take-out, some of the finest to be found. Authors & James Beard award-winning Chefs Gabrielle Quiñónez & Greg Denton have honed Portland's love of all things local (seasonal & freshly sourced ingredients) within a menu that maintains integrity across seasons. Whether seated "around the (wood) fire" with their massive custom grill, in the atrium, at the bar top, booth, back oyster bar, private dining, or (more recently) a vined patio - every area is primed for new and wonderful memories. Their wine program (although abbreviated) is one of my favorite in the city, heavy on Willamette picks but rounded with exquisite (but generally affordable) European & South American bottles. I sampled five courses, for take-out this visit - overall (service/ambiance, along with food degradation during transport), I'd give 3 stars, but across multiple visits (otherwise dine-in), restaurant maintains 4 stars. Servers are taking the stars for service. A favorite of mine, their BELGIAN ENDIVE SALAD is seasonally updated with cherries/sweet atop the usual endive/bitter, bleu/tart/smooth, and the texture is something fun with candied pecans & mild vinaigrette (buttery EVOO) blending with each electrifying bite. This presentation was not its freshest (endive), but could have turned during transportation. The reason I'll keep coming back: CLAM CHOWDER w SMOKED MARROW BONE is similarly elemental - each ingredient shining in its own right, but symphonic altogether. The soup itself is thin - not too filling, but incredibly rich in flavor (a touch of white wine? maybe B&W pepper?), showcasing large delicately cooked clams & melted marrow that seasons tiny cubed carrots & potatoes, onion & pork - sliced jalapeño leaves a back-end heat that's lasting & warm. This is the place you order a meat with some fat on it, so bring some friends and plan for sharing. Anything cooked on the Ann Arbor grill is better-than-basic, but I'd rather a filet that's pan-seared & oven-finished (although DO ASK for their signature Bordelaise, which is a gorgeous compliment to steak with red wine, and counterpoint to their exceptional chimichurri). To pair - FRIED RUSSET POTATOES - rustic, not a touch overcooked, but entirely original & delicious with their with horseradish aioli + dash of dill. Flavors are vaguely familiar, like an avant-garde ranch - always on-point. Dessert was SUBLIME - if only I recalled this little slice of buckwheat-toffee-cake's name. Ice cream took the heat during travel, but I imagine it's even better at the source. Points lost on service during carry-out, next time I'll send a representative.
