I finally made it over to Lisa's for breakfast! I've lived near this place and have been wanted to come here for ages, so I was thrilled to finally convince the family to join me on a trek to a new-to-us breakfast spot. ​I was thoroughly impressed from the minute I walked in. Given the location, I admittedly expected the environment to be possibly run down, but I was completely wrong! Lisa's is warm, friendly, and meticulously clean, with well-maintained furniture and a lovely old-school vibe. ​The service was truly exceptional--ultra friendly and very attentive from start to finish. I felt constantly cared for with proactive refills of coffee and water. At one point, our server even overheard a side conversation and brought something over without us asking! That level of detail-oriented service is hard to beat. ​The food was great standard breakfast fare, and I was impressed with most of it. The Chicken Fried Steak was good and a decent size. I found all the portions to be the perfect amount--not too large and not too small--though most people would probably say they were generous! ​My one criticism is reserved for the pancakes (which I tried, but thankfully didn't order). While they were very large and looked great, they unfortunately lacked flavor and had an odd aftertaste. They just felt spongy and a little "off." ​ ​Everything else was pretty great! This is definitely a place I would come back to--perfect for a family meal or even for a solo visit to enjoy breakfast while reading a book. We went a bit after 10am on a Saturday. There was a steady stream of customers that came in after us. The place filled up quickly. We were served ice water and coffee as soon as we sat down. Came in today because The Cameo was absolutely packed and I am glad that I did. I got the chicken fried steak and it was delicious. It's been awhile since I have come here but I used to come here a lot especially when they were located up on Mill Plain. I really like how they give you a ton of hashbrowns. The service was really good too. The place makes me feel like I am grandmas house have breakfast. Seems like everyone who goes there is a regular so that will tell you something right there. I've had a delicious breakfast here both visits. The cafe is a down home regular breakfast style of place. Not too many places in town does the owner help wait on tables. The atmosphere is pleasant, clean and inviting establishment. Our meal was served fast and my coffee cup topped when low. This is the kind of local place where everyone knows each other. The staff are super friendly, relaxed and casual and everything is done with a smile. The food is good and huge. One day I had the Farmers Scramble. It came with hash browns and toast and I might have gotten through half, but maybe not. And I was stuffed. The other day I had the Country Omelette and same deal: I got to the half way point and was in pain. I really wished I had someone to share the plate with. Both meals are good though. Decent coffee and they'll come by about every 5min to top you up. You will absolutely never run out. read more

Glad we found her! In true Fatty Patty fashion, Lisa steps up the decor with warm friendliness that makes you feel like you are at a friends home the minute you enter. Food portions are as expected..large and in charge with warm fresh flavors. I ordered and omelette with mushrooms that I could swear were just picked. Country gravy was creamy and fresh tasting no blah flour aftertaste here. We tried the patty melt and everything was served hot and fresh. It was busy and still we got refills without asking! Major kudos to the staff. Busy cleaning and stocking and still on the ball. We will be going back soon. From the moment we got in... hostess no acknowledgement.. then instead of seating us she tells us your table is the 2nd one on the wall!! Really.. so that's how it's going to be? Order our food and took over 30 minutes to get to us only until we asked where's our food! People came in after us got the food immediately after they ordered and we still waited!! We had a really good time here. Nice basically everything. Comfortable, quiet, really good food, friendly service, great prices. Gluten free bread option was cool. With some killer roast beef from what I was told. I had the eggs Benedict with O'Brien potatoes. It was all good. If I had to gripe over something it would be a little too much butter/margarine on the waffles. No biggie. And the server who was nice, was a little quirky. The highlights were the food. Nice family restaurant. We gave them a try for breakfast on a Saturday and were seated right away as they weren't very busy. I think their location keeps some folks from just seeing them or stumbling upon them to give them a try. Our server was sweet and our coffee mugs and water glasses were filled regularly. The one negative was the food took a really long time to come out. Normally at a breakfast place the food comes out really fast, but it took 20 minutes for our simple breakfasts of pancakes and 2 eggs w/bacon & potatoes to come out. I'm not sure what caused the delay, as they weren't busy. They weren't dead either, but certainly not enough business to cause that kind of a delay. Their pancakes are quite large and the Hubs liked them. I, on the other hand didn't like the pancakes, as it tasted like they were made from a pre-made mix. But the Hubs liked them and he is a big pancake fan, so he was happy. I paid an extra buck to upgrade my 2 eggs w/bacon breakfast to get their roasted potatoes w/bacon, bell peppers and onions on the side instead of their regular hashbrowns. This is a great little diner tucked in a strip mall in Vancouver that I had never noticed before but found on yelp. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. They were out of a couple things on the menu, but that's to be expected. Had just a normal breakfast and was seated in a booth farther away from folks so we felt safe. The chicken fried steak wasn't the best I've ever had but I still really liked it. The biscuit was a little dry but the delicious gravy made up for it. I dig this place. Cozy...the two-seater booth a bit too cozy. You gotta take some of the condiments and put em up on the ledge to have space for all yr food when you're served. Nice little joint, the young waiter was very pleasant. Food is adequate, greasy diner bfast which is a good thing. I don't like blowing too much money on a cup of Joe so I sipped off my wife's coffee a bit. But I was feeling a bit nauseated from the antibiotic so I just had the oatmeal - came w all the fixins and cheap toast. Could have used a bit more cinnamon. I didn't care, I was just enjoying the moment w my wife, who was satisfied w her country omelet. Healthy portions, and the price was right. I tipped good, felt good about that. The only reason I'm even giving this a one star is so I can post. I'm almost in tears right now. Back story I've been at this place every week for the past year and always had great service and food. Last week I brought my son in and we were skipped over for seating 3 times. I ignored it as oversights happen and I didn't want to ruin the special time with my son so I stayed quiet. We ate our meal and left. We returned the following week and the server remembered us, we were so flattered. But here is where it goes down hill from here. The server informed us we cannot accommodate allergies as he was needing to leave out potato's and tomatoes. He is extremely allergic to both. We then decided on the oatmeal in which they said they couldn't do it today. So then decided on the steak n eggs. There were rules to go with that instead. I asked the server who seemed nervous about what is a person supposed to do with allergies. She said " they just can't get it" as I sit there I looked at the clientele and notice we were the only people of color in the room. My son being much darker. I have never experienced this before and it didn't hit me until the I realized what it was. This would have never crossed my mind and then the steak and eggs that was marked 21$ after ordering it the server informed my son it was now 24$ ... I'm so disappointed in every way. It was my son who chose this place because he likes to support small businesses. His steak was over done and sausages Burt. Mine were fine. The eggs looked like pancakes. As we were sitting here we saw a Hispanic man enter with the host or cook not sure the tittle, told him they don't do to go orders. I feel like I walked into the twilight zone. Our "16" oz steak looked like a 12 oz. I wish I would have went to La province!! I spent 50$ for mediocre food and a racist atmosphere. If you knew me I am not quick to throw in the race card out there and I pray to god I'm wrong. I do want to add that the server has always been polite. I don't think the hate is coming from her. I normally wouldn't post this but I don't want anyone else to experience this. I'm hoping the owner will see this and make the adjustment needed as this has always been a favorite spot. Not only was the food great, but the portions were large AND so reasonably priced. $11.95 for a full breakfast (3 eggs, hashbrowns, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of toast, and coffee!). I oreder breakfast on 02-23-24 and it was cold and no chance to send it back as they did not come to my table. I had complined in the past about the noice level and c4 cjilren running losse in the eating area and this was not apporeciated by the owner. WHATEVER you do, do not complain and then order food there. The owner likes to retailate. I got sick from the cold food served, and I also noted on the health department score of only 18 that food storege temperperatue violations many times. This is dangerous food storage. read more

This is a breakfast and lunch place. There are only a couple of tables that can take 5 or more people. Very clean and friendly. Great service! We had five different breakfast selections. The omelets were good and not blubbery. The fruit was very small. Hash browns were good. The toast was soft, my eggs were warm, the coffee tasted like hot flavored coffee water, the Chicken Fried Steak tasted like it was frozen, the gravy had no flavor and slightly earthy from the mushrooms, like from a can. The bowl of fruit that was ordered looked beautiful. The price was very reasonable and daily specials are posted on the outside window. Not a place I would go back. We went based on a referral.
