    Western BBQ Bacon Burger
    Darbie E.

I wanted to love this place so very much. I'm in love with their mission to give proceeds to Meals on Wheels. The place was clean, our waiter was attentive & friendly. The fries were pretty good but the hamburger (Western BBQ) was by far the worst burger I've ever had. I'd just come from a medical procedure that requires fasting so I hadn't eaten in over 28 hours so I was famished. Anything would have been delicious, but both the bacon & the smashed burger patties were so over cooked that not only were they dry, but had that bitter burnt flavor. The onion rings on the burger were good (I ate them separately). After 2 bites I decided to take the burger home to see if adding more of my own BBQ sauce would help, but it didn't, I'm afraid. I would give the restaurant another try, but would steer clear of trying a burger again.

Great experience! First time here and I was impressed. The menu was easy to navigate, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I loved the traditional breakfast options. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the best part was how incredibly clean everything was. They've been around for several years, yet the place looks like it just opened. Amazing cleanliness, open space, and a great overall vibe. I'm a fan!

Had breakfast here a few days ago. So good! We were given a cheerful greeting and promptly seated. This place is reminiscent of an old-timey diner with cute decor. The pancakes were light and fluffy and my corned beef hash was filled with tasty veggies, potatoes and corned beef. Coffee was pretty good too! We'll be back. Our favorite thing was that it supports Meals on Wheels!

I visited once before for brunch years ago and decided to give it another try again over the weekend. It was a little busy when I arrived and it took a few minutes to be seated. Cute and small diner, very clean. I had to wait a bit for the waitress to come take my order. The items ordered was the French toast and also the chicken pasta. The pasta was good. Very creamy and not bland but not overpowering. The French toast was not that impressive. Thick but not crispy. It tasted like plain toast and the powdered sugar and maple syrup barely helped. I do love that some of their proceeds go to meals on wheels so I will definitely come by to try other items. Maybe I'll have better luck next time around.

This was our first visit to The Diner Vancouver. I was surprised that the proceeds go to support Meals on Wheels and they are dedicated to making sure seniors don't go hungry and have social needs met at the restaurant as well. Even if they didn't have that goodness going for them I would highly recommend them! The food was generous and delicious. My husband and I both got veggie omelettes. He added mushrooms and spinach to his. I had mine regular and loved it. Big generous chunks of onion, bell pepper and tomato. I opted for an "cream biscuit" with mine ($1.50 extra) and it was worth it! It tasted homemade-in a good way. I also liked the "country potatoes" that came with our eggs. They were thinly sliced in rounds with a hint of garlic. Sooooo yummy and a nice change from hash browns or other potato options at breakfast spots. Come give this place a try! I think you'll like it too!

Super sweet server, very clean restaurant (including restroom) and ample servings of delicious foods! I had the traditional eggs Benedict which were expertly prepared with a very nice hollandaise sauce and came with a mountain of tender and flavorful breakfast potatoes. My dining companion had biscuits and gravy, which were okay but I've had better. They offer country gravy or bacon gravy; we sampled the country but perhaps the bacon is the way to go. Next time. Really positive experience overall.

Excellent lunch today with very tasty sandwiches loaded up with crispy, delicious Bacon, tomato, lettuce. Fries are huge portions and very good. Excellent service even when busy & we sat at the breakfast bar since tables were full & service was great!

There was only one table available in a small room with 3 other four-top tables. It was super loud with that many people in such a small space. They definitely try to make use of every inch they have. We're not really 'crowd' people, nor do we enjoy high volume environments where we can't have a conversation without raising our voices. That part of the experience left little to be desired. The staff was super friendly, helpful and attentive. Our water glasses were refilled promptly, and considering how busy they were, our food came out timely. We ordered the club sandwich with fries and a bacon Swiss burger with chili. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. They offer generous portions at affordable prices. I honestly adore the interior just covered in plants and greenery; such an inviting little space. There was a line when we entered but it moved pretty quickly which was nice. The menu was so so so tempting and honestly, I wanted a breakfast burrito but knew there was no way I'd be able to finish it before we hiked so I went with a breakfast sandwich instead. I love the plethora of options they have for vegans/vegetarians and omnivores alike. I got my sandwich with egg, vegan sausage, cilantro aioli, and avocado - I was initially worried the aioli wouldn't be strong enough or flavorful enough but it was perfect. A very good breakfast sandwich, filling too! You can also get it on an english muffin or on ciabatta which is a nice swap depending on your mood. My friends tried the breakfast burritos, loved them but agreed portions were very generous. We also grabbed a couple scones -- the lemon poppyseed and the marionberry. They were the size of my head but I definitely get the hype around the marionberry scones; would inhale one daily if I could :P Coffee was good and sadly they were out of matcha the day we went so I guuuess we just have to go back to get it! There is plenty of parking in the giant lot and the honestly the highest props for having a drive thru! Swing by and try the goods~

We arrived around 11:30 on a Wednesday. It was still pretty busy, and only two booths were open. We were first on the wait list. This restaurant occupies an older building in downtown Vancouver. There is street parking available. It's a small establishment, but they do a great job of utilizing every inch. They even have a nice waiting area by the door with two long wooden benches. There are both table and chair seating, as well as a few booths. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive.
