    Western BBQ Bacon Burger
    Darbie E.

I wanted to love this place so very much. I'm in love with their mission to give proceeds to Meals on Wheels. The place was clean, our waiter was attentive & friendly. The fries were pretty good but the hamburger (Western BBQ) was by far the worst burger I've ever had. I'd just come from a medical procedure that requires fasting so I hadn't eaten in over 28 hours so I was famished. Anything would have been delicious, but both the bacon & the smashed burger patties were so over cooked that not only were they dry, but had that bitter burnt flavor. The onion rings on the burger were good (I ate them separately). After 2 bites I decided to take the burger home to see if adding more of my own BBQ sauce would help, but it didn't, I'm afraid. I would give the restaurant another try, but would steer clear of trying a burger again.

Great experience! First time here and I was impressed. The menu was easy to navigate, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I loved the traditional breakfast options. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the best part was how incredibly clean everything was. They've been around for several years, yet the place looks like it just opened. Amazing cleanliness, open space, and a great overall vibe. I'm a fan!

Had breakfast here a few days ago. So good! We were given a cheerful greeting and promptly seated. This place is reminiscent of an old-timey diner with cute decor. The pancakes were light and fluffy and my corned beef hash was filled with tasty veggies, potatoes and corned beef. Coffee was pretty good too! We'll be back. Our favorite thing was that it supports Meals on Wheels!

I visited once before for brunch years ago and decided to give it another try again over the weekend. It was a little busy when I arrived and it took a few minutes to be seated. Cute and small diner, very clean. I had to wait a bit for the waitress to come take my order. The items ordered was the French toast and also the chicken pasta. The pasta was good. Very creamy and not bland but not overpowering. The French toast was not that impressive. Thick but not crispy. It tasted like plain toast and the powdered sugar and maple syrup barely helped. I do love that some of their proceeds go to meals on wheels so I will definitely come by to try other items. Maybe I'll have better luck next time around.

This was our first visit to The Diner Vancouver. I was surprised that the proceeds go to support Meals on Wheels and they are dedicated to making sure seniors don't go hungry and have social needs met at the restaurant as well. Even if they didn't have that goodness going for them I would highly recommend them! The food was generous and delicious. My husband and I both got veggie omelettes. He added mushrooms and spinach to his. I had mine regular and loved it. Big generous chunks of onion, bell pepper and tomato. I opted for an "cream biscuit" with mine ($1.50 extra) and it was worth it! It tasted homemade-in a good way. I also liked the "country potatoes" that came with our eggs. They were thinly sliced in rounds with a hint of garlic. Sooooo yummy and a nice change from hash browns or other potato options at breakfast spots. Come give this place a try! I think you'll like it too!

Super sweet server, very clean restaurant (including restroom) and ample servings of delicious foods! I had the traditional eggs Benedict which were expertly prepared with a very nice hollandaise sauce and came with a mountain of tender and flavorful breakfast potatoes. My dining companion had biscuits and gravy, which were okay but I've had better. They offer country gravy or bacon gravy; we sampled the country but perhaps the bacon is the way to go. Next time. Really positive experience overall.

Excellent lunch today with very tasty sandwiches loaded up with crispy, delicious Bacon, tomato, lettuce. Fries are huge portions and very good. Excellent service even when busy & we sat at the breakfast bar since tables were full & service was great!

Parking was easy but if it gets busy there's limited formal parking spots. I had a hard time deciding (everything sounded so good!) so I asked for recommendations. The gal mentioned the most common met and vegetarian dishes--for the meat, she recommended chicken dumplings and for vegetarians the cheese pierogis. I was quoted a 10 min wait time so I would expect a longer wait time if there was actually a line. I'm more used to Asian variations of these types of dumplings. It came with a container of sour cream and it added a layer of hearty deliciousness I wasn't used to but was a rich treat. It was a fabulous comfort lunch on a chilly rainy day. I'll happily come back with some coworkers the next time I'm on that side of town!

Just friendly and remembers your names! Ambiance can be anywhere from perfectly quiet to crying baby. It's a family kinda place and sometimes there's kids! Today was a bit strange as someone was in a blanket and sat at a table on their phone with headphones on laughing out loud. Looked like someone who worked there son? Hope that situation is all good! I didn't try the regular menu, but I will definitely come back to try more of their Szechuan menu soon (there were two separate menus when we came in). The pork belly is high quality and they don't skimp on the veggies. Their tangsuyuk is another standout, perfectly crispy even when coated in sauce, which is no easy feat (if you know, you know). The wasabi shrimp has a unique, addictive flavor with just the right amount of crunch. And the kimchi burger? Thoughtfully crafted with a soft brioche bun, a juicy, flavorful patty, and kimchi that really pops. Beyond the food, the hospitality makes the experience even better. I didn't give it a 5 star because I was a bit disappointed with how little protein they add to their ganjjajang. First time I ordered the pork and then I ordered the seafood on another visit. The taste was amazing and authentic but I was disappointed with the pork because they give you like 6 pieces of pork and there is tiny fried pieces as well but the size of a scab lol. I love the big pieces of veggies in it but it's sad they can't do the same with the protein. Now with the seafood version it was the exact same thing very little protein but mountain of veggies except this time the zucchini was so tiny while they gave me giant blocks of onions again I don't mind that but it's all disproportionate. Nothing to what I have had at different Korean spots in Arizona. Everything else is amazing like their fried rice or bulgogi burgers. Their tteokboki is alright it's a niche type of dish so it won't be for everyone. It was more sweet than I like but that's just a me thing. Service was great and the ambiance was chill, quiet and cozy. We will still be returning just maybe will stop ordering the jajamyeon unfortunately.

We sat back at the bar and a few mins later, the bartender let us know it was last call for the kitchen. We didn't get food so I can't speak to that but there were a few things on the menu that I would order next time. I thought the service was fine, nothing to write home about.
