This place is has the best service and food. We're in at least once a week. Lots interesting good things to try.

This place has really been hit or miss lately. Not sure what's changed from their opening, but the last 3-4 times we've visited it's been okay or subpar. Very disappointing. We both agreed this is the last time we'll come here. We came in and were greeted and immediately seated by the host. He was friendly and welcoming. They weren't super busy, but busy enough for a Saturday lunch crowd. It took him awhile to get our drink order, so when he finally came to take it, we went ahead and ordered our food as well. We decided on the bacon cheeseburger with chips, and the reuben with fries ($3.50 extra for fries). I've never understood the extra cost for fries vs homemade potato chips?! The chips have been hit or miss in the past, so we usually order fries for one entree just in case. Our food took about 45 minutes. Seemed way too long. Our server never came back and asked for refills on beverages during our visit either, which was disappointing. My burger looked good, but super greasy, even the bun was greasy on top. Maybe it was brushed with butter?! The burger dripped with grease while eating it. The chips were saturated in grease as well. Some of them so much they weren't crispy at all. Our server was nowhere to be found or I would have complained. They were left on the plate. My husband didn't like them either. He ended up sharing his fries with me. My husband liked his reuben, but the bread was burnt on the bottom. You couldn't tell at first look, only once it was picked up to eat. It had plenty of meat, cheese, peppers and onions. He enjoyed it overall. The fries were good too. Much better than the chips. The restaurant was clean when we walked in, but during our visit many tables were left dirty for far too long. Not sure if they were in the middle of a shift change, but it seemed like no one was around to clear plates or refill beverages. Someone from the kitchen eventually came out to get us our bill. Our plates were still on the table when we left. Overall a disappointing experience. There are far too many restaurant options in this area to spend $65 on lunch for mediocre, at best, food and service. We will not be returning. read more

I'd say 3.5 Located in St John's, this is a restaurant originally from Battle Ground. I was meeting a friend here and didn't realize it was the same restaurant until I ordered the beet salad and was like, I've had this before. The space itself is nothing special and the parking lot is a bit wonky, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot. There appears to be a to-go portion of the restaurant as well. We both ordered ciders. They have rotating ciders. I had the loganberry, which was dry and not too sweet. As mentioned, I ordered the beet salad and my friend got the fatty patty burger (I think that is what it's called. It looked pretty great. Comes with homemade potato chips and you can upgrade to fries or a salad. The beet salad was okay. It would have been better if the bacon wasn't cold. A large portion though; enough for lunch tomorrow. read more

Words can't describe the emotions I have after eating here. I grew up in Silverton, Oregon. Every weekend my family would have our outing to 'HomePlace Pizza'. I grew up with it. It was my favorite pizza! And even an emotional, yes emotional connection to this pizza. If you've ever had it, you'd know just how incredible this pizza is. Welp, fast forward 40 years. I've lived all over. Settled in Camas, WA. Never finding a pizza that is even close to HomePlace.... Well SOB!! I found it at Barrel Mountain! I took a bite... All my childhood memories rushing back. The crust, the flavor, the crispness and fluffiness in the crust. A tear is shed as I look across the table to my wife as she asks... well, similar to HomePlace (for the 109th time). In a great turn of events ... you can get half and half of any pizza. It doesn't matter what the base or size is. We got half Ma Boy Blu and half Clark W. Both sides were so good! Perfect crust. It had a nice crispness on the bottom but wasn't over cooked or burned. Also tried both IPAs. Excellent. We were greeted by three different people. No one ignored us. Very friendly. Nice chill place and they do the pizza right. We're moving here in a few months from Oklahoma, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more pizza. read more

I went to happy hour with my friend, his son, and a few of his friends. We ordered buffalo chicken wings, a pizza, and I got a salad. Everything was great! If I had to be picky, I'd say the chicken wings had a bit more breading than I preferred, but they were still cooked well and very tasty. I also tried a slice of the pizza, and it was excellent. The service was outstanding. We were seated quickly, and our server was very polite. She took our orders efficiently and brought our food to us promptly. She also checked on us without being intrusive. The restaurant had the ambiance of a typical bar and grill, which was perfectly fine. Everything appeared to be clean, and there was ample seating available. If I ever return to the Vancouver area, I plan to stop by again. I'd love to visit when it's not happy hour to try some of their regular-sized pizzas, as my friend mentioned that the pizza there is fantastic. read more

Yelp really needs 1/2 stars. We stopped in on a very busy Sunday night, I thought we were going to beat the dinner crowd but we miscalculated. I think there was a large group. So, we had to wait about 20 minutes for the table, which isn't too bad. I'm glad we were not seated next to the noisy group. Service was fast and friendly. The food came promptly after ordering. We had the Don pizza and the bacon burger sans bacon. The burger was very tasty, they did go a little heavy on the red onion and we took most of it off. I would say the fries are not the best, they tasted like in and out fries, which are not my favorite (nor anyone else's). The pizza was really good, fresh and hot with a crispy bottom. Went to Barrel Mountain Pizza tonite, had the small "Donnas favorite" pizza, definitely one of the best pies I've ever eaten, my wife swooned over the unique flavors, the thin crust, and the fact of two pieces left over. It's nice to see a real quality business getting traction, good food, excellent service, it's not rocket science, but maybe close to it.. There have been a few other operators in that bldg, it was the old benny's Pizza joint, a not too bad place. But Barrel Mountain owners really know the ropes, obviously, Wed night and the place had little room left to sit. Walked in on a Friday evening around 6, with a party of 8. Our server came around quickly with menus and to collect our drink order (P.S. the beer signs on the walls are seasonal so no, you cannot order everything you see even if you sounds unbelievably tasty -insert sobbing emoji-). The kids get their sodas and the moms get their cold, well deserved beers. All is well. Then the pizzas show up and all is well even better. Pepperoni's for the kids, and a Clark W. for the grown ups. The pizzas are fantastic, the Clark had whole garlic cloves (so good, eeeek!!) and chunks of pineapple! Barrel Mountain Pizza and Pints has the best pizza in Vancouver! After eating there numerous times, both in the restaurant and takeout, I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal. We especially like Donna's Favorite pizza with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage, and pineapple. The sauce, toppings, and cheese meld together to create the most perfect combination. I crave this pizza constantly. Two other menu items stand out as excellent also. The Camp Salad has greens, onion, cucumber, tomato, chevre, sunflower seeds and choice of dressing. The large salad ($14) can feed a family and it is phenomenal. Additionally, the wings at this restaurant are the best I have ever had. We have had them many times, and they never disappoint. Our two favorites are garlic parmesan and bbq. These are worth the trip alone. We have also tried the steak and cheese sandwich ($19) and the bacon cheeseburger ($18) both excellent choices if you are not in the mood for pizza. The restaurant is clean, welcoming and the service is always excellent. We will be back.......probably hundreds of times! read more

Hooray, Barrel Mountain Brewing has opened a new location in Vancouver! We are big fans of their original location in Battle Ground, so we are happy this new location is closer to home. This new location has a different food menu complete with pizzas, burgers & sammies, wings, salads & other delicious options, along with their great selection of beers on tap. We shared an order of the Chili Maple Bacon wings & the Shaved Brussels Sprouts and they were excellent. The wings were huge & meaty, too! (though not spicy at all, despite having "chili" in the name, but that was fine with us) Several customers around us ordered pizza, which looked amazing, as did the various sandwiches we saw as they passed by. They just opened this week and the service was fantastic, with the entire team pitching in to check on customers and bring the food out. They did a great job of decorating the inside with an outdoorsy, but simple lodge type of feel, too. read more

We got the meat head pizza - it had sausage, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, salami and ground beef. We loved the crust as it was really fluffy but not doughy. The pizza itself was also not super cheesy which we liked. The pepper packs that they had also were such a good addition to the pizza - it's a must! Absolutely the BEST pizza around! New to Vancouver area, looked around for some local pizza establishments close by and saw this while driving by. Ordered a pizza for carry out, had a beer while waiting. Super friendly staff, clean, nice bar area and separate dining area. Took pizza home and very impressed with quality of ingredients and taste. Have ordered pizza for take out since, call ahead and always ready when they say it will be. My family had a pretty good experience here. We were greeted right away with great customer service. We order a build our own Hawaiian style pizza and a salad that came out in good time. The salad was tasty and filling. The pizza wasn't as exciting as I was hoping for. I really really wish the pineapple was in smaller chunks than the large so I can have pineapple with more bites. Crust was also on the thinner side but not a deal breaker. Salads were $9 which is a bit steep for me. Pizza was decent priced. $64 before tip for large pizza 3 drinks and 2 salads. Pizza is great and all the items from the menu we have tried have been good. The beet salad is amazing! It is loud and if you get out in the back room be prepared to freeze to death. As with all places the server you get makes the experience but we have had the same one several times that is on top of it and takes good care of us even when we are freezing to death. Walked in, greeted quickly, beers ordered and received very fast. Service was great, food hot, I will say $17 for 6 shrimp seems steep and did lack some flavor. I worked at Benny's in high school and was really bummed when they closed because I've never found pizza quite like it anywhere else. I'd heard that the dough and sauce recipes at Barrel Mountain were from Benny's and I'm glad to see they really are. The crust and sauce taste basically identical to Benny's, and they kept Donna's Favorite as an homage (happens to be my favorite too). Is it more pricey than most chain pizza places? Yep. It's a little further away than Yelp thinks it is but fully worth the drive. My SO brought home a large C'mon Craig after a long week in SLC. It's a small miracle how they load that many toppings so rich in flavor on a crust that light and thin all the way to the very edge. This is a very impressive place and probably the only one I'd revisit when making my own is so easy. I'm amazed to think I live in a time when a pizza can cost $40! Fortunately in this case it's worth the splurge which is high praise indeed for the humble pie. *update* Another trip and this time I went with to pick up. Cute place. Very busy now that it's got to be some of the best pizza in Vancouver. Tried the Wooly Bugger which is probably even better than C'mon Craig. Wasn't sure about the balsamic but that plus the cooked tomatoes really balanced out the spicy pepperoni. Very YUM combination. Both of us loved it. read more
