Treebeerd's Taphouse is a family owned beer bar inspired by a love for the forests and brews. They offer craft beer and cider from around the state (36 rotating taps) and a small in-house snack menu featuring locally handmade soft pretzels. Pros: Good service, large open space, ample seating. Cons: Not a fan of the beers offered or sampled. I personally prefer reds, ambers, lagers, pilsners non-wheat type beers. I was disappointed for the lack of variety considering the 36 taps touted. Additionally, I found the chairs and seating uncomfortable. Overall a great spot for a quick after work or afternoon happy hour flight if you live or work locally.

A cozy lord of the ring's style tap house, with frankly, the best curated tap list in portland! There's always new, interesting and delicious choices everytime I walk in! Pair that with super service and a cozy ambience and you've got one of the best tap houses in town!

If you love a great variety of beers and in a Tolkien atmosphere, this is a great place to adventure into in downtown Portland. A great variety and rotation of beers from the PNW and Cali, quite a few fresh hop choices during my visit. Tap pullers knew the beers well and made knowledgeable recommendations. Some light snacks are available and you're welcome to bring food from the many varied restaurants surrounding the place. Multiple large screens around the house, either displaying sports or science fiction/fantasy movies. Chill vibe and music playing as well. Highly recommended when in the downtown Portland area. Cheers! SYOY

So for starters this is the first tap house we tried in Portland while visiting the westcoast and when I say it was hard to beat this place i mean we went to like 5 other spots and this one was by far the best. Are bartender kelsey was was the most nice and friendliest person I have ever met. Let us try a couple beers before we picked a flight which we absolutely loved. We didnt get any food. I dont even know if there was any but the place was beautiful cozy and very welcoming. We stayed for like 2 hours because of conversation and actually felt sad leaving. I recommend all come hear and enjoy a great experience from a high quality taphouse

Decent spot to grab a cold brew or frozen drink. Friendly staff and comfy sitting area. Clean bathrooms.

Treebeerd's is the Bomb(adil)! I've popped into Treebeerd's a couple times previous: once just to look around, another for a quick sample of the brews on tap, but last night was the first time I'd been able to spend any significant amount of time here; a mistake that will not be repeated again. The trappings of Middle Earth are on display here, but their influence is almost as subtle as the One Ring itself: if you're not paying attention, you might not even notice. Thus, Treebeerd's is suitable for all humans, nerdy or not, as well as hobbits, elves and dwarves! Now, I'm generally not much of a beer/ale/lager/stout drinker, generally preferring spirits over brews; fortunately for me (and people like me), Treebeerd's has an arsenal of awesome alternatives, including several ciders (the Vanilla Honey is incredible), mead, and even a non-alcoholic (boo!) root beer suitable for any Ent or Treant. BAARUM! I had a pint ("It comes in pints?! I'm getting one!") of both the said Vanilla Honey cider, and the Nectarade mead; both of them were light and refreshing, and went down smooth and without complaint from my picky palate. I realized later that night that I'd forgotten to eat anything; these two beverages ended up being filling enough to be a meal in themselves, with no feeling of bloating whatsoever, and leaving me with a pleasant buzz right up until bedtime! All of the servers were humble, gracious and welcoming, creating an environment of true Fellowship that would make Elrond proud. Although Tolkien may have long ago passed into the West, his legacy is Too Towering to be forgotten, and lives on in reverent homage here. Everything about my experience at Treebeerd's was worthy of a King, and I am sure to Return frequently to bask in its glory! Don't be a Smaug and hoard this place all to yourself! Light the beacons, and spread the word to all the lands of Men and Elves! Fly, you fools...to Treebeerd's Taphouse!

Such a sweet place! I was a bit hesitant because I'm not a Lord of the Rings fan (not that I'm against it. I've just never seen it) so I wasn't sure if all would be lost on me. It wasn't. If you don't know anything about LOTR you will still have delicious beer, a cozy place and friendly bartenders! I had two sour beers. One with ginger and one was a pumpkin and they were the best sours I've ever had. I ordered the pretzel and I can say, coming from Philly, they have a delicious pretzel! They offer just a few light snacks (which was exactly what I was looking for) and delicious beer. There are little nooks to hide away if you want to, but also lounge seating with cushy chairs and couches. I wanted an afternoon beverage and they serve that up too! If you are looking for some good drinks and a chat with a friend, this is your place. If you are solo and want a chill place to hang out, this is your place too!

What a cool taproom to stumble upon. It's got a light LOTR theme going, but anyone unfamiliar won't feel like you're out of place. Some great regulars and wonderful bartenders too. The variety of beverages was fantastic and there is definitely something for everyone.

Wonderful, engaging staff. Good selection of beer on tap.(They welcome *Untapped users here). Treebeerd's also offers wine and cocktails. Well prepared nibbles available to enjoy with your beverage of choice. Intimate, welcoming environment.

Went for the Lord of the Rings theme, stayed for the great beer selection, excellent bartender, cozy and warm ambience.

Highly recommended! Very cozy! Erik took great care of us! Rode train to Portland and this was our first stop after hotel check in!

Amazing selection of great Oregon beers. The Lord of the Rings theme is just a cherry on top.

I guess it's a LOTR (lord of the rings) themed bar, however I didn't find it to be to "enthralled" with LOTR.

The lone woman (who we later found out was the owner) who tended to the bar and cooked up the snacks in the back and cleaned the tables and did everything else was fantastic and she did it all with grace and a smile the whole time. We ordered a flight of all the beers on tap (15). All the beers are gluten free and we enjoyed the wide variety of styles.

She loves IPAs, porters, and stouts. I'm more into lighter, easy-drinking beers. It's rare for a brewery to truly hit for both of us... but Evasion absolutely did. Their tap list was exceptionally well-balanced, with great options across styles. Everything we tried was clean, well-made, and thoughtfully crafted. No gimmicks, no "meh" beers -- just genuinely excellent brewing. And the saison? Easily the best one I've ever had and now my new favorite beer. Crisp, bright, perfectly balanced, and ridiculously drinkable. I would come back to Portland just for that saison. The vibe was another huge win. Relaxed, welcoming, and the kind of place you immediately want to settle into and stay awhile. We ended up lingering there until our Hopscotch reservation next door because we liked it so much. Honestly, this might be the best brewery we've been to anywhere, and we've been to a lot. If you care about quality beer across multiple styles and a chill, comfortable atmosphere, Evasion is a must-visit in Portland.
