Stopped in for a drink and a quick bite to eat while in town. Our bartender/ server was Tommy. He was very kind, personable and knowledgeable about the options they have for both beverages and food which is served fresh from grassa right next door. The atmosphere , food and drinks were great and would definitely recommend checking them out! read more

Came to this spot to watch game 7 of the NBA finals. I was happy to see they were not only showing the game WITH SOUND but also had $5 pint HH until 5pm. They have around 30 beers on tao with a mix of IPAs, lager/pilsner, sours, ciders, and stouts. The bartenders were quick to ask for a refill and there is food next door at Grassa, which they'll deliver to your bar stool! Around 10 barstools and a few booths/tables. Definitely would recommend for all your craft beer needs. read more

Found this great local spot on Yelp during my trip in Portland. Local bar that has so many beers on tap and a full bar. They are attached to this great Italian resturant so I was able to get pasta with my beer! Carbs on Carbs! The service was great and watching the playoffs for baseball was the best part. The inside was cute and simple and with a few TVs! read more

Excellent beer selection and knowledgeable beertender. The vibe is great. And the location just outside the Pearl District is perfect.

This spot is a gem if you're after great beer and an easygoing atmosphere. The selection is thoughtfully curated with an impressive range of rotating taps, so there's always something new and interesting to try. Whether you're a craft beer nerd or just want a solid pint, it hits the mark. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming--perfect for a low-key night, catching up with friends, or just unwinding after work. A huge bonus: you can order Grassa right from the bar, which takes the whole experience to another level. Quality pours, good energy, and consistently excellent rotating taps make it a standout neighborhood hang. read more

Upon our return from the Japanese Garden we discovered "Beer-O-Clock" and decided to give it a whirl for a frosty beer following the brisk walk in the heat. The pub was very comfortable and the bartender was extremely welcoming and friendly. Found a booth near the window, and ordered a Block 15 Fresh Flow, and a ColdFire Juice Bug to quench our thirst! 160z craft pints for only $5.00 (smile). While sipping our beers we ordered Cauliflower Radicchio Salad, and it was a party in your mouth! Unbelievably delicious and complemented the beers perfectly! Thank you Grassa Restaurant (adjacent to the bar) for the exquisite salad! The brewery was calm, friendly, comfortable, yet city vibe-like, due to its close proximity to the sidewalk of a major street in the Pearl district of uptown Portland. Definitely, a revisit when we get back to Portland in the near future. read more

It's a fun place. Good beer and cider selection, a couple of big screens for watching the sport of the hour, which was the World Cup then, and a very friendly bar tender. read more

The service was impeccable. Sam recommend so many amazing beers and every one was amazing.

Whats not to love about a place called Beer'oclock? It was definitely beer oclock when I showed up. What I found was a well curated beer selection. There was a sassy bar wench who gave great service, Portland born and raised -pulling drafts who was pretty entertaining and knew a lot about beer in Portland. I caught a good buzz there then went down the street to Sizzle Pizza. If you are behind a bar in Portland is it mandatory to have at least five piercings and twenty tattoos? And Blue or Pink Hair. Not being judgy. Just curious. BTW the restauarnt next door delivers to your table if you place an order with them. I thinks its Italian and looked really good. read more

Cute little beer bar with excellent pricing. You order at the bar and sit wherever. We sat at the bar and I really enjoyed their selection. I got the occidental and one of the fracture brews and I usually enjoy a light - hef beer and enjoyed both beers. Beware since they are from micro breweries... the alcohol level is higher than usual but overall great selection and if you're not a fan of beer they have mixed drinks as well. Would definitely stop by again. read more

Came in with my partner on our first day on vacation in Portland and was welcomed in to a very warm and joyful atmosphere. Living in the high desert allows me to grow a nice "Portland" beard without having to actually live in Portland, it was nice looking around and seeing more weirdy beardies. They had a nice selection of beers on tap and one of my favorite ways to order, the TV screen. I've seen them at other bars and I love seeing how full the keg is, and what's on tap in a clear way to read. read more

The HUGE tap list with the icons of how full the kegs are was super helpful. The food from the Italian place Nextdoor was spot on. Gourmet Pizza pockets and garlic bread were tasty and the service was great!! We tried several IPA 's and enjoyed each one. Just a few blocks off the MAX means a return trip for sure! read more

Been here a few times. Good spot if you're a craft beer fan. They have a lot of options for that. Not really much in terms of cheap beers. Few TV's and happy hour are a plus but aside from that nothing really stands out about the place. It's a fine spot but not necessarily one of my regular haunts either. read more

Before having to catch our flight back home, we decided to stop for one last little adventure in Portland. My husband and I found ourselves at beer o'clock. The gentleman who is pouring the taps was kind and engaging. The space itself is pretty nondescript but has a fun and funky modern vibe. It is located next-door to a pretty popular pasta place and we saw several people ordering food from next-door and bringing it to beer o'clock to enjoy with their beverage. They had a nice variety of beers on tap, with several of them being ones that my husband and I have never heard of since we are not from Oregon. It was fun to try a nice sampling of some of their popular brews and get to know the Oregon beer culture a little better. read more

Stumbled across this spot during happy hour. Came by on a Wednesday evening around 4ish and was able to take advantage of the specials until 5pm. $5 beers is a steal! I am a big fan of hazy IPAs so I decided to try out the "Indifferent Life" IPA. Honestly it's been the best IPA I've had so far. So smooth and refreshing. I wish there was a local spot near me like this. read more

Great beer in a very relaxed setting. The beer selection is outstanding- almost 100% Oregon but a few others in the mix. I like that it really is just great beer in a relaxed setting. Honestly the best beer bar around Tommy the main bartender offers great service -!: hospitality and is welcoming and so helpful. He will go out of his way to talk you through your preferences and pick out options to sample. Bar is clean and well lit and the bar is unique because it is attached to Grassa so you can pick out food from a huge menu and bring it into the bar. Highly recommended ! amazing selection of beer and cider and some canned cocktails! read more

So I will preface this review by saying that I am NOT normally a beer drinker. At most, my weak palate can handle a Pilsner or sour. Regardless, I don't think I'm completely disqualified from offering my humble opinion on this establishment: The highlights: There are 31 beers/ciders on tap. Now, I'm no taproom expert, but this does seem to be a larger quantity than what I've seen at other businesses. I suppose with a name like "BEER o'clock", they need to live up to their image. And live up to it they do. If you are lost on what to order (like yours truly), you can rely on Tommy the beertender to guide you towards a beverage that will appeal to your tastes. How does he do it? He has a gift. He is also cute. Additionally, if you like zoning out and getting lost in a television, this place has three to choose from. The space is clean, the decor is tasteful, and the whole place is connected to Grassa and Lardo so you can order food to be brought to you in BOC. The improveables: If I haven't been clear yet, this place exclusively serves beer (at least they stand by their name). This is not the place to ask for craft cocktails or wine. I do think they could appeal to a larger audience if they had a cocktail program, or perhaps a couple bottles of wine to pour. This place also teeters on the edge of falling into a sports bar category; two of three televisions play some version of games, which is great if you enjoy athletics...not so much if you are indifferent. Who knew a non-beer drinker like me could be convinced to hang out here? read more

October 31st, 2018 I went during happy hour. I ordered two beers. While ordering the second beer I asked if it would be the same promotional pricing when I paid my bill after happy hour. Check your bank statement! Good beers but this establishment added tip without my consent to the final bill reflected on my bank statement. I don't care about the amount (too small to be worth calling in and speaking to a manager about it) but it's the principle behind it. If you must go, bring cash. read more

Great rotating beer selection. Came during happy hour to catch up with a friend and sat at the bar. There are larger booths that will accommodate larger parties. No food, but it's right next door to Lardo and Grassa - both have very tasty food choices. Beer O'Clock was very clean and had great natural light. I was surprised to not be "hit in the face" with a stale beer odor that some beer establishments in PDX have. Will definitely come back! read more

Hidden downstairs 1/2 floor off the sidewalk, tight space, wall of offbeat taps to try, plenty of IPAs (++), only 2-3 deep can fit at the bar. Small booths, benches outside. Small bar we decided to go for happy hour before heading to a sports bar for. They definitely have a big selection. Tommy was pretty friendly and sparked up a conversation with my husband about baseball and basketball. Music was good, they have a few tvs with both sports and movies showing. It connects to the two adjacent restaurants so if you're hungry you can order from the menus next door and bring the food over to the bar, or vice versa apparently. read more

Beer O' Clock is such a gem! This place is laid back and Matt, the bartender, is so kind and knowledgeable! Beer O'Clock - Before it settled - Beer Bar Near Me - Portland, Oregon

This place has one of the best happy hours that I have been to in Portland. The hours are long (around 3-6pm I believe?), the selection is large, and the beers are cheap! During happy hour, almost 100% of the beers were $3 for a full glass (16 oz). A lot of them were local beers so it was a lot of fun trying beers that I had never had before. I also like the ordering system; instead of menus, all of the beers, their descriptions, sizes and price are on electronic screens, so it makes getting the information about your drink very easy. We got the six point puff and the abnormal maple mornings (both $3). Both beers were excellent. The abnormal maple mornings stood out especially to me, because it was so rich, dark, and smooth. It almost didn't feel like drinking a beer, and reminded me of drinking an ice cold, rich, dark coffee instead. Ambiance is casual. They have a large bar seating area and some comfortable booths for larger groups. I would definitely come back again for more beer if I am ever in the area. read more

Whether it's ale-thirty, quarter til' porter, five o'bock, or stout-fifteen, it's always time for a fresh draft brew at Beer O'Clock. I met a couple friends here and the tap list was as diverse as we were ... with a good mix of local options. After a short wait for an opening with the bartender, we ordered 3 very different beers for 3 different types of drinkers. Service was rushed (for good reason), so, beer me now and believe me later, that pint's not going to drink itself. And, then we waited some more because there wasn't any place to sit. After about 10 minutes a spot opened up by the door and hallway to Grassa. It wasn't the most relaxing of spots and had no view of the TVs, but with a cold beer in hand, its all good. Overall, it was just an ok (3-star) experience because the bar was so busy instead of a great chance to try a variety of drafts. We headed down the street to another place for a 2nd round and to continue on our night. I'd choose this bar again when it was less busy. As such, it'd be helpful if there was app to notify me ... At the tone, the time will be Beer O'Clock. read more

I met up with a friend to talk about some upcoming opportunities and been wanting to check this place out. As I walked in, I sat in the tap area and the server let me try a few samples of what I may be interested. Happy hour was almost over since I got there before 5, but I managed to get a refreshing pint after deciding what I wanted. I settled for the eggnog stout that I never tried before and it was an instant winner. As the evening progressed, I noticed you can bring food from Grassa and Lardo since it's on the same block. I like the variety of beers they have to offer and there is something for everyone. I would definitely go back again since they have have taps that other places normally wouldn't have such as the eggnog stout. I only wished happy hour went until at least 6 since 5, but you just have to plan ahead accordingly. read more

Cool place to grab a brew in downtown Portland. Tons of taps with beer from all over the world, but an emphasis on Pacific Northwest breweries. I was eating next door at Grassa and was able to bring my pint over to Grassa's tables. Pretty great to have that service as an option! The bartender was plenty knowledgeable about the dozens of beers on tap and provided tasters prior to deciding. Will definitely be back to enjoy trying another new local beer! read more
