looked up "best burgers in vancouver area" and this place popped up. did not disappoint, although the location (inside of a supermarket) did surprise us a little lol. the person at the register was very friendly. i ordered the mushroom swiss burger, krinkle fries, and the deluxe. all pretty delish and flavorful. i LOVED the fries - nice and fluffy. would definitely come back again to try the rest of the menu. :)

Best burger in Vancouver and fry's stay crispy. Delicious. Order ahead available and I have them cut mine in half so it is two meals if I want. Crispy delicious fry's never limp and I don't know why but if any thing just go to the grill first order then pump gas. Ready to go! You can pay at grill.

After hearing about this place for some time, I decided to stop in and try their burgers. Inside a convenience store, the kitchen resides in the back right of the establishment. I was the only one at lunch, so I was served immediately. I ordered the first thing on their menu, the deluxe cheeseburger, with everything on it. I didnt wait long, and wanted to eat inside, so I grabbed the only table available. If you plan on eating inside, keep in mind you're inside a convenient store and there is only one table. Don't go for the atmosphere! The burger came out pretty quickly and was foil wrapped. This burger is a double smash style and might be considered a hearty portion for a smash burger. The bun was standard and seemed to have held up well with all of the ingredients. Very tasty and assembled well. I loved the sauce and the meat had a good, beefy flavor. From a value standpoint, you can't beat it.Overall really satisfied and I will be back!

I'm upset that I haven't come here sooner!! I've read good reviews but was doubtful since it's in a gas station. These are some of my favorite burgers and fries!! The burger has great flavor, is made fresh and huge! The seasoned fries I feel are beer battered and SO CRISPY and fresh!! I will definitely come get more often. HIGHLY recommend!!

The Gorilla Grill is a hidden gem! I was extremely surprised "gas station" food could be this good and fresh. I would also like to personally give Adam a shout out, he's awesome and cooks the burger's to PERFECTION! I would recommend to anyone in the area stop by for lunch you wont be disappointed.

The burgers are fantastic, super fresh with a great bun and toppings. This isn't a restaurant just a gas station with some tables. Lots of fried food such as corn dogs, chicken sandwiches, fries etc.

Even going on a Monday night, it was packed with people, however, we were able to snag a table for two without a reservation right away. The service was attentive and helpful. I got the full portion of the smoked mushroom ravioli and I absolutely loved it. I appreciated that the portion was quite large because too often ordering ravioli means you barely get any pasta. The sauce was decadent, savory, smokey, and had a hint of sweetness, which pulled everything together.

Our server was friendly and quick. She answered questions and described the specials. They have gluten free focaccia!!!! It was super yummy, but it was also served kinda cold. Worth it. We ordered the fresh catch, which was halibut with some potatoes and grilled asparagus. The accompanying sauces were delicious. The asparagus was good. The white potatoes though had been cooked previously and weren't reheated enough. They were described as new potatoes but were definitely large chunks of russets. They were hard to eat. So we didn't. We also had the Punta di Fesa which is a braised beef dish with mushrooms on polenta. The balsamic mushrooms and polenta were so flavorful and delicious. It was a good thing that my husband started with this dish (we traded halfway through and had plenty to eat!) because I would have eaten his share of the polenta too. The beef however was dry and not what I would have expected from a braised beef. When we were given a knife, we were told we probably wouldn't need it. We did. The service here was friendly and helpful. Our server was knowledgeable about gluten free needs and recommended a great bottle of wine that went well with our fish AND the beef (which is tricky...yummy Chianti AND half price!). It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 7. There were people that ended up waiting but not too long. There are shelves of Italian goods all around you. My husband said he felt like he was eating in a store. You kind of are, but it was still cozy. I plan to come back to try the gluten free pasta and maybe a lunch sandwich if they have solid gf options there. Also, the dessert menu looked great. We were just full.

Entering the shop, you will be greeted by loud music. Be ready for that. You will have the option to dine outside, if the weather provides it and the seats are empty. The hosts are wonderful and very accepting with a positive attitude. Smiles and all. I ordered the Jim because it was the only sandwich I could eat. The majority of the sandwiches contain meat, so I would not recommend this for vegans or pescatarians. Jim was delicious and I consumed both halves of Jim flawlessly. Either hunger overruled me, or the sandwich was that satisfying. I do recommend the shop, but with limited options for non-meat eaters, I truthfully would rate Lottie and Zulas, 4.5. Yet, I don't believe the spot was "good."

The ambiance is quintessential Portland, right up until they bring all your food in plastic with plastic silverware to boot.

The portions of everything are very generous. Sandwiches and avocado toast are definitely enough to share or take home for a second meal. We shared a lemon crepe which had what tasted like house made lemon curd inside of it. It was dusted with powdered sugar and created a delicious flavor. Crepe was perfectly prepared. I ordered the avocado toast which was twice the size of what I expected and could eat, so it made a very nice lunch later. The avocado is a spread as opposed to sliced; although I prefer sliced, this was actually pretty tasty. This also came with a fried egg on both of the pieces of toast and thinly sliced radishes, flat leaf parsley, sesame seed, and a generous amount of pickled red onion which I adore. The bread is a lovely European multigrain. Underneath the toast, I found a beautiful fresh green salad with a balsamic vinaigrette and tomatoes, and all in all this was the perfect dish. My dining companion chose the turkey sandwich, and this two was a very large sandwich. It looked really great and had a lot of turkey on it, so much that it looked like fresh turkey as opposed to a deli meat, but I'm really not sure. For some reason, she didn't especially care for her sandwich; may have been a little too much pesto on it for her likes, but I thought it looked wonderful and also came with a salad. I had a drip coffee, for which I was told I could get refills for free, and my companion had a latte. Both were very good. I would like to come back sometime and purchase some of their desserts as they all looked absolutely amazing.

When she finally decided to assist us, her attitude was condescending and rude. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that I felt racially profiled when I simply asked how much a slice of strawberry shortcake cost. After telling me the price, she immediately questioned whether I could afford it or if I still wanted it, which I found insulting and inappropriate. To make matters worse, the slice of cake was not worth the $9 price tag. Between the poor service, disrespectful treatment, and disappointing product, I have no intention of returning. There are plenty of bakeries that treat their customers with courtesy and respect--this is not one of them.
