You know. It is a really tasty burger. I think I just need to come to grips with the fact our economy has gotten away from us and this is the price point to expect. When you compare it to places that serve you free peanuts it comes in slightly under price wise but still a tough pill to swallow. Lots of yummy toppings and really juicy meat. Seasoned well enough. It's a total mess to eat. Probably one of those private moments. I got the combo with fries and a drink. I got the crinkle fries. They are bigger and thicker than your average crinkle but I wouldn't call them above average tasty. Maybe I'll go seasoned fries next time. It's not super clear what drink is part of the combo. I just grabbed a fountain drink and assumed that's what it was. Really fast and friendly service. I could see myself returning for a private time meal. read more

After hearing about this place for some time, I decided to stop in and try their burgers. Inside a convenience store, the kitchen resides in the back right of the establishment. I was the only one at lunch, so I was served immediately. I ordered the first thing on their menu, the deluxe cheeseburger, with everything on it. I didnt wait long, and wanted to eat inside, so I grabbed the only table available. If you plan on eating inside, keep in mind you're inside a convenient store and there is only one table. Don't go for the atmosphere! The burger came out pretty quickly and was foil wrapped. This burger is a double smash style and might be considered a hearty portion for a smash burger. The bun was standard and seemed to have held up well with all of the ingredients. Very tasty and assembled well. I loved the sauce and the meat had a good, beefy flavor. From a value standpoint, you can't beat it.Overall really satisfied and I will be back! read more

Who would have thought a gas station burger was worth any amount of hype? Yet here I am about til tell you Gorilla Grill is totally worth the hype. Made to order, the burger was flavorful and the veggies fresh and crisp! I wish I had thought to give them a try before--I've been to this gas station a hundred times, picked up the occasional hot case burrito or whatever, but never committed to the actual menu. Wasted time! I am sold and can't wait to try other things of their grill! Good to know: -it is located inside the gas station, the parking lot is shared with other businesses and not incredibly big but I've never had any issues with parking. -expect to wait a few mins as all orders as made fresh and typically there are only 2 staff members working (to note, service is good but a small wait is inevitable) -this is for food to go only, no sitting area inside read more

This burger joint is hidden inside Shells gas station. My husband and I happen to stop by and saw it one day. Their burgers were juicy and flavorful. Their fries were crispy and fresh. Everything taste amazing! We just hate that their hours aren't all day so after 3pm, you're doomed! read more

We have been thrilled and disappointed by this spot several times. They have this killer glaze for their burgers (but not always), they have a fast knowledgeable staff (sometimes) and they are conveniently located (when they stay open for regular hours). After months of not giving them a 4th chance, my kid asks if he can get a burger last night. I commented as we pulled in at 6:15, I hope they're open... he's 14 and looks at me like I'm crazy... I mean he's right; why wouldn't they be open? Nope... 3 employees around 2 registers in the convenience store but none of them work the grill. I heard rumors that they had a bonafide chef cooking burgers at the Gorilla Grill, so I had to check it out. To be fair, I made sure it was at high noon and busy (Thursday Oct 27 2022). The Burger I chose was a special, which is a deluxe bacon burger with pepper jack cheese, and guacamole. The bun was grilled with butter. The burger was awesome! Best burger I have had in a long time! Better than any I have had at the other local burger joints! The place was hopping, but I only had to wait a few minutes. Was in the mood for something a little different then a fast food burger thought I'd give this a try. Turned out pretty good, my burger was a little cold and the fries were super hot. The service was nice and quick. Yummy fry sauce! I didn't notice until after I had ordered that they can add pineapple which I love to do but most restaurants not even Bergerville or five guys can. The burger was filling and tasty. Beef is high quality high fat truck stop style. I like that they switched to a smaller bun, I'm not a big fan of a bread-heavy burger. Jo-Jo potatoes could be crispier. Definitely more of a lunch spot as their evening hours can be sporadic. read more

Located in a Shell station mini mart. I probably should have walked back out when I saw the old-looking pizza slices and corndogs in the order window-area. They looked like they had been sitting under the heat lamp for about 10 hours. Anyway, I ordered the deluxe burger and fries. These were made fresh as I watched the lady preparing my food. I thought that everything tasted pretty good for a gas station burger. It could also be that I was super hungry and my stomach had been growling for a while. Unfortunately, about 3 hours later I was stuck in the bathroom trying to "evacuate" my tasty burger meal. This place would have actually been a solid 4 stars if that unfortunate "evacuation procedure" hadn't of taken place. I think I'll give this place a pass from now on! read more

Love, love, LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is really good, but the people are amazing! Lisa was great, she gave me several samples while I was waiting on my order, they were all delicious! Andrew the assistant manager was wonderful, very helpful and personable. Went in again tonight, and the cook Cody was so sweet and helpful. Tamales are soft and delicious, the burgers are GREAT, and the chicken strips are fresh and tasty. Going tomorrow for cheesesteaks! Can't wait! read more

I live across the street from a Minit Mart, but inside this convenience store is one of my favorite places to get lunch. This place has your usual menu of burgers, sandwiches, etc. with a few special burgers like the Jungle Burger (with pineapple, teriyaki sauce, monteray jack cheese and ham), and their Gorilla Burger, a huge burger that is like 7 inches across and has chedder, two big patties, bacon, ham, and all the fixings and weighs in over a pound. I definatly reccomend giving this place a try if you like a good burger. Dont let the part about being in a Minit Mart fool you, the place (the entire Mart) is spotless and clean. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star is that it isn't it's own restaurant, but the food IS 5 worthy. Edit: I almost forgot to mention the amazing crinkle-cut fries! No special seasoning, just perfectly cooked every time with the right amount of salt (and cooked for each order, just like the burgers, making it more like "quick food" then fast food) read more

This place has the best burgers cooked inside of a shell gas station on the left side of the Mississippi. I like to stop in once a month and load up on gas, drinks, cigarettes, cat food, ect... all while waiting for a tasty gorilla burger. My initial reaction when I saw there was a place called Gorilla burger inside a gas station was that I thought it would be illegal to serve burgers made of gorilla meat in the U.S. But Shell being the giants of wheeling and dealing through the legal system that they are must have found a way. To my surprise the lady behind the counter assured me the meat was probably mostly from cows. Either way, it's delicious and that's good enough for me. read more

Kinda weird going to a burger restaurant in a convenience store.... Once you get past that, the burgers are awesome! The gorilla burger is a monster with two patties and everything but the kitchen sink on it. I personally love the bacon cheeseburgers here. I've been here several times being by the gas station and all. I've never had the guys to try it. Once I did I was impressed with the taste. There are better burgers out there and they'd do better if they were in a different location. That's my opinion though. I obviously don't know this for sure. read more

Usually the customer service and food is decent, today not at all! Ordered 3 piece and 2 piece chicken strip meal with fries and they added Jojos which I didn't order becAuse I ordered the fries, when it got done they had put fry sauce in the bag, I brought it back up and asked to have ranch, lady said they couldnt take back the fry sauce and she got upset very fast and said they can't take it since it's already been over the counter, she asked if anyone at home would eat it and I said nope, so she threw it in the garbage mad, said they usually charge for ranch but this time would just give it to me, I said no, how much is it, I can just pay for it and then I said, I have to pay for it even if I got food, she said yes because people don't usually get ranch with fries, I said what fries??!! I order 25$ worth of stuff and two different orders of chicken strips!! She didn't apologize or anything just said Oh.. then I get home, with my three babies and my kids start eating and instantly start spitting them out so I try it and there SPICY CHICKEN STRIPS!!!! Great!!! Weather is crappy and I'm not taking my three babies under three back out in this crap! read more

Ive been here a couple times for lunch. I live within walking distance, so I usually get it to go. It is a little odd that it is in a gas station but I would say that is a plus. I admit, they should probably just go ahead and take the dine-in tables away and make it a take out only type of thing. No one wants to eat their lunch a foot away from cat food, the cashier and a dvd rack. They are very friendly and work hard making the food. Always very nice and courteous, updating you on the status of your order. The burgers are large and the fries are good. These burgers are better than fast food garbage and even chain restaurants like red robin. I would give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

The steak is always tender and well-seasoned, not overly salty like at some other places. The cheese is melted just right, and the grilled onions add a nice sweetness. The bread holds it all together without falling apart or getting too overly soggy. One of my favorite parts is the jalapeños they offer on the side. I always ask for them. They're fresh and spicy, and I like adding them to each bite for an extra kick. There's also plenty of parking, which makes it easy to get in and out, even on a busy Saturday.

Took a few minutes to get through the menu with lots of choices. Everyone got sandwiches of different varieties, with fries, and sodas. You order at counter, pickup at counter, and bus your own table. Cant really say much about service so to spea, but they got the orders right. The sandwiches came out pretty quick and everything was pretty good. Everyone grabbed down and no complaints. I would go again but would not go out of my way to come back. 6 guys $158 and change for 12" sandwiches baskets for everyone so not a cheap place to eat by any means. I would say 3.25 stars from this guy.

The portions of everything are very generous. Sandwiches and avocado toast are definitely enough to share or take home for a second meal. We shared a lemon crepe which had what tasted like house made lemon curd inside of it. It was dusted with powdered sugar and created a delicious flavor. Crepe was perfectly prepared. I ordered the avocado toast which was twice the size of what I expected and could eat, so it made a very nice lunch later. The avocado is a spread as opposed to sliced; although I prefer sliced, this was actually pretty tasty. This also came with a fried egg on both of the pieces of toast and thinly sliced radishes, flat leaf parsley, sesame seed, and a generous amount of pickled red onion which I adore. The bread is a lovely European multigrain. Underneath the toast, I found a beautiful fresh green salad with a balsamic vinaigrette and tomatoes, and all in all this was the perfect dish. My dining companion chose the turkey sandwich, and this two was a very large sandwich. It looked really great and had a lot of turkey on it, so much that it looked like fresh turkey as opposed to a deli meat, but I'm really not sure. For some reason, she didn't especially care for her sandwich; may have been a little too much pesto on it for her likes, but I thought it looked wonderful and also came with a salad. I had a drip coffee, for which I was told I could get refills for free, and my companion had a latte. Both were very good. I would like to come back sometime and purchase some of their desserts as they all looked absolutely amazing.
