Ahhhhh!!! The food was sooo yummy and delicious! I was caught off guard when I didn't see anyone at first and I thought they were closed. Please read the sign!!! Thankfully the person came out from the back and told me to always ring the bell if a person does not see anyone lol. I ordered the Swiss Bank burger which had the bacon, onions (I added those off), mushrooms, Swiss cheese and the burger sauce on the bun. I will say it did taste a litttle salty but I think it was the sauce and the fries and drink helped with it. I did eat the entire thing! Overall, I will go back again to try the Smack Burger with the onions on it next time!! P.s. there is dr. Pepper if you are getting the meal and I love dr pepper. I came here specifically based on all of the stellar reviews here. It's in the Vancouver Mall Food Court, so prepare for that if you're not at the mall anyway. The service was just weird, and was objectively bad. There was nobody at the counter when I arrived, and it took me a while to find the "ring bell for service" button. I did so, and was approached by an employee, who didn't greet me at all. He literally didn't speak a word the entire time I ordered, and only nodded when I asked if I could get one of the three "meals" (not a-la-carte) I ordered plain. I also expected the "meal" to come with a drink (and their web site illustrates a can of Coca Cola with the "meal), but the silent employee didn't address that aspect of it at all, and with him not speaking, it seemed like it would be an exercise in futility and frustration to try to ask. I legitimately wonder if the employee had a mental disability, and if so, I commend Smack Town for employing those with special needs. I'd hope that they'd have a job coach or somebody overseeing to get them to build the skills they need to fulfill their job role. With that said, though, I don't care to try to order here again. This is a great shame, because the burger was truly outstanding! Seriously, a REALLY great burger! I was also grateful that the one I'd ordered plain, was, in fact, plain. Wow. First of all, this is maybe the first time in my life I've ever gone to a mall food court just to eat and bounce. Parking: everywhere is available, but park close to Old Navy for easy access to the food court upstairs. Bathrooms: located in the SE corner of the food court. Super convenient. Menu: small and easy to pick from. Service: Fantastic. Guys were cooking in the back and when I stepped up to the counter, he just... appeared. Took my order for two burgers with fries and drink (cans) with special burger requests. Flavor: Burgers were perfectly cooked where you could taste the meat and seasonings. The orders came out in about 5mins and the fries were hot, but not so hot we couldn't eat them immediately and seasoned just right. It's weird to experience a place like this in a sterile mall environment. It gave me the slight feeling of rebellion. I decided to eat at the gray camo table instead of taking it to my car. I got to observe the gritty soulful guy that took my order and delivered my burger. I lamented the lack of a beverage that I wanted as canned soda is repugnant. I did NOT lament the burger. The hamburger gods have blessed these patties with their juicy, hand-made, bulk. Juices began to foul the spongy toasted bun with their influence, and the bread bites sopped with juice were AMAZING. Fries were average but good. Burger was amazing. Value: 3.5 out of 5: The burger and fries was $18 (since I did the combo meal with a soda) which is acceptable in this day and age. The 6 wings for $10 was good but a little overpriced for me to do again. Service: 3 out of 5: The cashier seemed to be annoyed when I asked questions regarding my order and there were no napkins out there to grab. We stumbled upon Smack Town by accident after donating blood a few days ago. First and foremost, the gentleman at the counter could not have been nicer. We were somewhat indecisive and he pointed us in the right direction. We had one regular smash burger and one grilled cheese for our kiddo, plus some bangin' fries! Everything was great! Smack Town is, for better or worse, good to its name. It does feel like someone smacked me after I had their food. They are located within the food court of the Vancouver Mall, so it doesn't get much more casual than that. No need to dress up here. Their menu is pretty self explanatory, and in the short time they've been open, seems like there have been some changes based on feedback, which is good. Their staff are also very relaxed and friendly. I wanted to like their burgers, but unfortunately I couldn't handle them. The flavor and amount of meat you get in a double isn't bad, but there is a large amount of grease/oil/butter from everything they've put on it. Their beef patties likely have a very high fat ratio, as it was oozing with each bite. While it was an enjoyable experience during the eating affair, my body didn't like the feeling afterwards. It felt like someone did indeed smack me around for the day. If you've got a good constitution, give their burgers a try if you're in the mood. But for mere mortals like me? After many months, the long awaited opening of Smack Town had come (yesterday in fact!) So I waited until the day after to let things cool a bit before I popped in, eager to try their food. I had seen their food from their Instagram and setup from Portland, and their Instagram stated that they were the "best burgers and wings in the state of Washington!" So I had to try them. The menu doesn't really spell out what things are what so you have to ask. The guy behind the counter let me know they had two burgers, a Classic (with lettuce/tomatoes, ECT) or the Smack Burger which had a house sauce, bacon, cheese, and grilled onions. I opted for a double Smack burger, with no sauce since they said it was a ketchup based sauce and that's generally not my jam. It came with crinkle cut fries and a drink for $18 bucks. It doesn't appear from the menu you can order just a burger...but I hope they make that an option as a single still runs you 15 plus tax so it's a bit of a high price of entry. I placed my order at 11:53am and sat down with my order number. At 12:12 they called me that my food was ready. 19 minutes ain't too bad in a restaurant but I don't know how they will do in a food court with wait times like that, but I didn't mind the wait. The food was in compostable take out containers, and they had canned Coke products to drink. They also have onion rings and mozzarella cheese sticks it looks like as sides (again, you kind of have to ask as the menu is just a picture menu...but it looks good!) When I opened the container, well...the fries were underwhelming at first. They looked and tasted like your run of the mill, frozen crinkle cut fries with some seasoning salt shaken on them. But we came for a burger, so let's focus on that. The burger was well seasoned and juicy. The bacon was delicious and I appreciated the texture of the meat and how flavorful the grilled onions were. The bun was lightly toasted (and a little buttery) and made the burger a nice bite by bite. But where I stand with the review being three stars comes to price and value for what you actually are getting. It's an expensive double burger, but it's not a super filling or satisfying one where you leave feeling like "dang, yeah I ate". You might get that from a double at a Five Guys, but the fries and sizes here just don't carry that. Plus when you sell yourself as the best in Washington and had a lead up of months really building hype and this is the delivery...it was a bit of a let down. That being said, I want to try the wings. I saw someone with wings and they did look good. I just wonder how this place will fare in a food court given their prices, the time it takes to get your food, ECT. read more
