Have walked by Elements so many times but never had a chance to come in - when I was looking for where to grab brunch this morning I was happy to see Elements had a brunch menu. Service was so great - everyone was kind, friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The menu options were great - I ended up getting the steak & eggs and my dad got the chilaquiles verdes. We both also got mimosas - they do something different with their grapefruit mimosas and I love it!! So many times the grapefruit mimosas are sickly tart but this one was not. Still 5-Stars! This update is to add a comment on their weekend brunch (more on that later in this review update). Follow them on instagram for drool-inducing photos & videos of menu spotlights, along with updates on specials. Everything in my previous reviews still hold true. This is a wonderful place for a special occasion meal, date night, or just to "treat yo self!" The food is always incredibly delicious, the menu changes regularly with as many locally sourced ingredients by the season as possible, and the service is always warm & friendly, without any hint of pretentiousness. Their cocktails & desserts are heavenly as well! Oh, and you get a complimentary crème brûlée dessert if it's your birthday! I recommend making a reservation online for dinner if possible as it's a smaller place, but walk-ins are sometimes possible. They also have an upstairs section you can reserve for larger groups. Their weekend brunch is also so delicious, with some standard breakfast options (but elevated & presented beautifully), along with some more unique options that change with local produce availability. You can usually get in for brunch easily without a reservation, but I still recommend making a rez online ahead of time if you know for sure what weekend day & time you'll be there, just in case. If you have the opportunity to attend one of Chef Miguel's special prix fixe themed menu dinners, I highly recommend! He has them from time to time and they are truly magnificent. There's always a beverage pairing menu available as well you can add on. I attended one of his vegan dinners and WOW - I'm not vegan, and it was so delicious, I would have sworn some of those dishes had meat in them because he worked some umami magic on those fruits & veggies! First thing you notice- ambiance is very rustic modern. Dim lighting. Bright enough inside the restaurant to where candles are lit and pieces of natural light from outside shine in. My mother and I came for brunch today on a whim and so happy we did! I had the chilequiles rojo. My mom had biscuits and gravy and our brunch was to die for! I'm usually not a breakfast food type girl so this is high praise for myself. Portions were massive I had to take a to-go box home with me. Service was prompt and knowledgeable. 4.5 Stars Fresh & Flavorful We finally made it elements in Vancouver. It was pretty easy to find and they had a parking lot behind the restaurant with a back door making it convenient. The staff we welcoming and very friendly. They have atrong emphasis on local, sustainable sourcing and ever-changing, inventive dishes. We shared the beet salad which hit the spot. For entrees we had, roasted king salmon, parmesan crusted petrale sole and rigatoni. We had a nice experience overall at Elements. The vibe here is super cute and cozy without trying too hard. The live edge tables really stood out. They add a beautiful natural touch to the space. Service was wonderful from start to finish, attentive and friendly. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, and the avocado and lox Benedict. Both were flavorful and thoughtfully presented. I had the Portuguese biscuits with the benedict and I thought those were just ok. A bit dense for my liking. I also do wish the Hollandaise had been a bit warmer. I would come back though. My husband and I came here on a Saturday evening. We had reservations and were quickly seated to our table. Our hostess came and took our drink order quickly. We looked at the menu and decided to choose a few different items to share. The bread and butter was great. The scallops was my husband's favorite. It was very tasty. The NY strip was thoroughly cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious. Our table was often glanced at and taken care of, which we appreciated. The atmosphere of the space was very cozy. The live edge tables elevated the restaurant and not to mention all of the amazing artwork hung throughout the restaurant. We will be back to try a different menu in the near future. read more

Sunday 10am, of course all places will be busy with waits for breakfast! I called and they let me know there is no wait right now and will setup a table for our party of 4, to be ready for our arrival - how sweet?! The person who answered the phone was so kind, professional and bubbly as well! We were seated promptly and all staff welcomed us warmly when we walked in. No lie, the iced tea was the best iced tea I've ever had lol not sure if it's brewed in house or what, but so good! Lemon ricotta pancakes, we wanted to try multiple things so very happy to know they can do a half order, and they were amazing - like I'd give my kidney up for them. Roasted potatoes, again, best I've ever had, flavorful, seasoned to perfection. Our eggs Benedict we opted for the Portuguese muffin, made in house, slightly sweeter than an English muffin and denser - but it was amazing. One "negative" thing I'd have to say is one of the kiddos that ordered the classic breakfast with sausage was disappointed that the sausage was chorizo - he assumed breakfast sausage as we all did - the menu didn't say chorizo. it's really hard to find a restaurant that knows how to cook duck properly. you're supposed to score and sear the skin until crispy to prevent chewiness. this restaurant is not one that knows how to cook duck. The oysters we had the bread and butter, not pictured which was delicious and the steak was good but still chewy in the center because it wasn't cooked to the desired temperature that we requested. The tiramisu should never have chunks. I was expecting a pumpkin purée, but it was chunks of pumpkin that was not expected and not wanted, but the crème brûlée was delicious. we would eat here again, but I would definitely not order the same items. I'm hoping next time we return that the scallops and a chocolate tart is the way to go. read more

I am a huge fan of elements. We've dined here multiple times and always reccomend this restaurant to friends / family. We had brunch yesterday right before closing with friends from out of town 4 of us + a 1 year old. The server said because we were a "large party" we had gratuity automatically added...... 22% for 4 adults and a baby. I've never had automatic gratuity charged for a group smaller than 6. And I think this should be communicated at the beginning. read more

Everything about Elements is perfect. The service is very attentive and skillfully delivered. The restaurant features a partially open kitchen and some local flair and decor. The food is the main attraction. Chef Sosa creates dishes that you can't find anywhere else. He only uses the freshest ingredients, usually from the farmers market or farm direct. He is a genius with fusion dishes blending many styles together in a way nobody else does. It's our go to place for brunch and a nice upscale dinner. This place is outstanding! If I could give it more stars, I definitely would. This is one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. I made a reservation online to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. We've heard great things from friends, and after reading other reviews, it seemed like the perfect place for a celebration. Our table was ready when we walked in. The atmosphere inside is very inviting and cool. The tables are made from thick live edge tree rounds. Super cool looking. They had fresh flowers on the table with a lit candle. They also had a birthday card on the table for my husband. It was such a thoughtful touch. The staff is super friendly, welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. Our server was Angelique. She was wonderful. She was able to answer all our questions about the menu, food, and drinks. You could tell she really liked working there and experiencing the culinary brilliance of the chef. The chef was involved in our experience, too. He came up to us during our main entrees to find out how everything was. We thought that was super cool. Then he came out again at the end of our meal and thanked us for coming and wished my husband a happy birthday. We were so impressed. It really elevated the whole experience. Now the food. Wow! The chef really knows how to pair flavors. We ordered the asparagus appetizer. It included a Dungeness crab cake, almonds, chives, radish, English pea puree, and hollandaise. It was SO good! It had a few ingredients that I wouldn't normally like, but I loved all of it! Our entrees were the duck breast and Alaskan halibut. Again, both were outstanding! Everything was so good and fresh. The shrimp and grits... ah... the shrimp was delicious, the grits were very goopy, the egg on top was delicious. The flavors were good honestly (lots of different flavor profiles) which worked out in its favor but it fell short, ultimately felt like a tomato corn soup with egg on top which if you've ever had proper shrimp and grits (from the south) would really throw you for a loop. Honestly, the flavors were great, but just have the grits separate, folks from the PacNW who don't know anything about grits would love this, but more nuanced folks who eats grits regularly will not be pleased. read more

The blend of ingredients, preparations, accompanying plate elements, and overall presentation have improved in all measurable dimensions. Everyone raved about the wild mushroom and chestnut pate. The pickled kohlrabi had a warm spice acidic punch that amplified the more subtle flavors of the base pate. Further, the onion and orange marmalade brought a welcome sweetness. The pickled caperberries brought a salty crescendo that balanced the sweetness of the marmalade and the ciabatta gave an essential textural foundation for all the other elements to play. Harmony and counterpoint were the hallmarks of the dish. Even for meat loving friends, this dish is not to be missed. The rest of the meal offered similarly intriguing pairings and dramatic plating. I really wanted to like this place, the prices are very high and I heard mixed reviews (not complaining about price just saying) I'm gonna start with the moment I walked in, it was over. I wanted to walk out. It smelled awful mixed with dirty mop water. It was bad I got up to go to the restroom and the restroom smelled delightful with the scented candle. Service was great, it filled up quickly. With the smell I really didn't want to eat so I ordered the hamachi. I didn't read the description thinking it would be something f normals Ohhhh boy, the plate was beautiful but ohhh dear was it unusual and not for me. Specially the coconut ice cream on the top. The server poured "agua chile" liquid all around, but it has a green dark thick consistency it was just all wrong, FOR ME. We were there for a birthday but my friend didn't want to order food there and we ended up getting a dessert and drinks. The server said the dessert was on them and then brought us another dessert plus the one she wanted and charged us. Super confused. They need to clarify they will offer the dessert they want. Shrimp & Grits is my go-to brunch as well as Eggs Benedict. Hubby ordered the Dungeness Crab Cake Bene with a House made Portuguese muffin.(instead of English muffin) Texture was amazing on this squishy bready bottom layer with a sweet balance.
