    Chicken bulgogi

The service was super fast & the people were extremely nice! I got the chicken bulgogi and it was pretty greasy so that was not my favorite but the egg appetizer was super good!

I had the dolsot bibimbap with beef. This really hit the spot on a chilly, rainy day. This is the place to be for Korean food. Service was great and it was quiet evening to have a nice dinner conversation.

We came here on a very Friday evening. Every single table was filled and there was only one waiter working. We were understanding and waited very patiently until he made it to our table to take our order and dropped off our waters. We ordered and thought we would need to wait for a bit as other tables haven't had their food yet, but surprisingly our food came out in record time! Everyone else's food came out in record time as well. The owner and everyone in the restaurant did what they could to accommodate the large crowd that evening. The Korean chicken wings is new and it was tasty. The salt and pepper dip was a decent touch to an already tasty batter. The kimchi pancake was good as well, maybe a bit overdone but ok. The noodles were spicy and the bibimbop was as good as ever. We come here regularly and the bibimbop never disappoints and it always hit the spot.

Meat Jun at the top, bannchan, seafood pancake, galbi tang, Kim chi soup

Nice clean restaurant, I saw the mamasan(idk the Korean word) running around. They are very busy!! I'll just say it's easier to pay with card vs cash, and the guy that handed me the take out order was very friendly. The meat Jun isn't what we're used to, like it wasn't marinated prior to cooking but I get it because the marinade would muck up the oil really fast when cooking in volume like that. Same with the shortribs in the soup. I'll be back for another try.

We stopped in for lunch the other weekend and really enjoyed the options. We tried the rice cakes and I had the spicy pork. Both were average pricing, and good portion sizes. They did come out with some banchan as well - I do wish that would've come out a bit before the food and not with but a super minor complaint. Service was nice and quick and the place was super clean. I really enjoyed it and we had a good amount of leftovers as well.

This is one of those spots where you gotta take your visiting family! Some of the best korean food in town! We finally had a crew big enough to share the budae jjigae, and it was soo good, so many favors. The LA galbi and seafood pancake were good as usual. Also loved their banchan. Definitely going to return soon!

I've had this (somewhat new) restaurant on my places to try list for awhile. Finally decided to stop in on a Saturday for lunch. Not too busy around 11:30. Only one other table occupied when we arrived. We were not greeted at all. A woman just dropped two menus on a table and pointed. Not a very warm welcome that's for sure. I was pretty disappointed. It wouldn't have been so off-putting if the restaurant was busy, but they weren't. We perused the menu and decided on the chicken potstickers, seafood pancake and beef bulgogi. They bring about six side dishes with your food. Not sure what most of them were and the lady that brought them didn't offer any insight, so we just tried each one. Most were bland, but we enjoyed a couple of them. The food we ordered was really good and flavorful. It tasted fresh, and we appreciated the hot plate the beef bulgogi came on. The atmosphere isn't super comfortable or homey, just sort of a fast food type atmosphere. The K-pop music playing in the background was too loud and kind of annoying after awhile. Overall, the food was good, but the service and atmosphere is lacking. We won't be back.

    Beef Bulgogi

OMGGGG literally soooooooo sooooooo good. I got the beef bulgogi and my husband got the Korean ramyeon. I got a super spicy sauce to add to my bulgogi and the waiter said " I envy your spice tolerance" it made me laugh. 10/10 WILL be coming back

Finally a Korean spot here in Vancouver!!! We were welcomed and seated without a wait on a Thursday night. Lots of seating options and options for a big party as well. The banchan options were good. The kimchee was yummy. I didn't really like the potato and yam one too much. We ordered the Galbi tang which was super yummy! It was a bit salty, but with rice it was the perfect combination. The spicy pork and squid combo was delicious! That dish is usually a hit or miss because it's either overpowered by veggies. But this was a good balance of protein to veggies. Overall a great experience for Korean food. Will be returning to try their other dishes. Update: I should've taken a picture of the menu the first time because I feel they have expanded their selections. Such as addding Yukhoe (raw meat dish) and yangnyeom gejang (spicy raw marinated crab) . Their blue crab ramen also caught my eye. Like what!? Oh and options for big party dishes like Galbi Jim (I have yet to try this)!!! This time around we tried the spicy squid with Soondobu and the flavor is just amazing. Definitely has our hearts, AND stomachs haha.

    Bulgogi & Seafood Bibimbap

I've been so excited to try this Korean spot in the Vancouver area as I typically have to go to Beaverton or Portland to get some decent Korean food, and I was pleasantly surprised. Located in Hazel Dell, it's in a plaza where you can also do some shopping and grocery shopping. The inside of the restaurant is spacious, bright, and there's plenty of seats. Service here is nice. I came here with a friend and we ordered the bulgogi and the seafood bibimbap. The banchan was decent; it was good but there was nothing that stood out. I was very surprised by the seafood bibimbap, however. There was so much seafood in it and it was very flavorful and saucy (some people might not like that). Huge portions and delicious food. I would come back again if I was in Hazel Dell and craving some Korean food. (I would love to try their hot pots sometime!)

Beef and egg appetizer. I forget the name, pricey but very tasty!

This is easily the best Korean establishment in the Vancouver area. It is located in a large shopping complex with plenty of parking. The decor is simple with some Korean adornments but overall it is very casual. When you're looking for Korean food, it isn't known to be on the cheaper end of eats, so it's very important that their quality is up to par and this place does not disappoint! We tried a variety of dishes and they were all very tasty and fresh! The service was standard fare! Like many hardcore Asian establishments, service is passable but not amazing. This is because the food prep and quality does the heavy lifting! I recommend any of the dishes to try, I haven't had a miss yet. But you can never go wrong with a hearty soup and protein alongside it! If you're craving Korean definitely stop on by!

Food tastes good! Ordered bi bim bap, chicken bulgogi, and jap chae "to go". What annoyed me though, is that they don't answer their phone. I called several times, so that I could order, and pick it up, but they never answered. I finally went there in person. I asked the cashier why they don't answer the phone, and she didn't speak English. She asked a coworker, and they didn't know either. Other than that being very annoying, the food tasted good. I've had better Korean food, but this is closer to where I live. I went back and this time I dined in. These pictures are from when I dined in. If you don't mind going there in person to order "to go", or if you plan on dining in, then by all means, try this place. I would encourage management to hire someone that can take orders by phone.

    Manda K.

I've been three times in one month the food is that good. The food is always hot and delicious everything we've ordered off. The menu has been so incredibly good.

The pork belly is high quality and they don't skimp on the veggies. Their tangsuyuk is another standout, perfectly crispy even when coated in sauce, which is no easy feat (if you know, you know). The wasabi shrimp has a unique, addictive flavor with just the right amount of crunch. And the kimchi burger? Thoughtfully crafted with a soft brioche bun, a juicy, flavorful patty, and kimchi that really pops. Beyond the food, the hospitality makes the experience even better. Sam and the staff are incredibly warm and attentive. They are happy to offer recommendations, check in throughout your meal, and always greet you with a smile. If I lived closer, I would be there all the time, especially to take advantage of their lunch specials. If you are in the area, this place is an absolute must try, especially since they are always updating the menu with new dishes to try!

I didn't give it a 5 star because I was a bit disappointed with how little protein they add to their ganjjajang. First time I ordered the pork and then I ordered the seafood on another visit. The taste was amazing and authentic but I was disappointed with the pork because they give you like 6 pieces of pork and there is tiny fried pieces as well but the size of a scab lol. I love the big pieces of veggies in it but it's sad they can't do the same with the protein. Now with the seafood version it was the exact same thing very little protein but mountain of veggies except this time the zucchini was so tiny while they gave me giant blocks of onions again I don't mind that but it's all disproportionate. Nothing to what I have had at different Korean spots in Arizona. Everything else is amazing like their fried rice or bulgogi burgers. Their tteokboki is alright it's a niche type of dish so it won't be for everyone. It was more sweet than I like but that's just a me thing. Service was great and the ambiance was chill, quiet and cozy. We will still be returning just maybe will stop ordering the jajamyeon unfortunately.

They require 4 types of meat to be ordered per round, so to get your money's worth it is soooo much food to be consuming with less people. The wine pork belly is awful. It was room temperature and tasted more rancid than anything else. No salt or flavor. The tripe was insanely tough and chewy, you could get the same experience from a rotting tire in Portland. The garlic, and lemon pepper chicken were both dry and flavorless. Not a very good variety of vegetables either. The Galbi was actually flavorful and juicy and I would personally recommend that if you decide to go. The server was polite and very respectful but I might as well have been mute and them blind with how easy it was to call them back to be able to order rounds of food following the first one. They were slow to clean up empty plates as well. The grill was not hot enough to cook things in a timely manner so I would also keep that in mind. The Banchan sides are perfect. Especially the radish and fish cake. I was served by Jonathan. A very polite and courteous young man. On the surface, Kingkong Korean BBQ is pretty much like every other "grill-it-yourself"…read moreestablishment, which is generally a good thing. It's immediate flaws are the same as its brethren: why does it seem like no one knows how to operate the grill at the table properly? It's always too slow to warm up, not hot enough, and requires manual intervention. Once that issue is taken care of, though, you're pretty much left to your own devices, and your satisfaction is solely based on what you order, and how well you cook it. Well, almost. In this case, for the most part, the cuts of meat were as good as any other Korean BBQ, but there were some that were decidedly not. Winners: bulgogi, miso pork belly, la galbi short ribs, steamed egg, all the side dishes and sauces. Losers: just about everything else, including the service; the employees were well-meaning and nice enough, but they were obviously very green, awkward, and forgetful. Despite being on the "premium" menu, avoid the King Kong Steak and the King Kong Marinated Beef, both of which are thick, tough slabs of meat that are took difficult to grill properly, especially when there are any of the aforementioned grill heating problems, and even then, they're just too thick, and not particularly appetizing. We also had some uninspired "cajun" shrimp, which is just regular shrimp with a dusting of seasoning on top. In fact, if it weren't for the LA Galbi short ribs, I'd say you can safely ignore the "premium" menu altogether, and just stick with the basics. That way, you can have an enjoyable meal, without paying extra for things you aren't likely to enjoy. There are better Korean BBQ places out there, but I wouldn't be opposed to giving King Kong another shot in the future. I just wouldn't pay anything more than standard price.
