I was out and about... and wanted Korean food for lunch. I did a quick search, and found Young's kitchen near me. So off I went. Walked in, went to the counter... started to order, and when the young man at the counter realized I was eating in, asked to sit anywhere. So I sat down... and he showed up quickly with a glass of water. He took my order for Chili Chicken (medium heat) and asked my if I wanted kimchi or pickles. I love banchan so got the pickles. My food came quickly. Rice was ok... not super fresh, though. Tasted like it had been sitting in a steamer or rice cooker for a while... a bit dry. Chili chicken was very good... although had very little heat... will have to try the HOT next time. Corn salad was very good too. Good service, food was good... and I will have to come back and try some of their other dishes. read more

Bright, clean, simply decorated small business run by mother and son. Really friendly and took time explaining the small menu. The mandoo and beef dish was what I expected. The corn salad wasn't what I expected but we tried it and liked it. Its mostly corn and mixed with seasoned mashed potatoes is probably the best description for it. We like this better than macaroni salad that you may get at other places. Kimchi was ok, I was expecting a stronger flavor since I heard mom and son speaking in Korean. The chicken was good, a little too much sauce for on the rice so I shared some of mine. I would come again and try the spicy pork and kalbi next time I am in the area. read more

Really wanted to love...but didn't. The Asian auntie who both cashiers and serves was such a sweet woman. Very attentive and warm to our table. Offered additional bon chon throughout our meal. The food was subpar. My garlic shrimp was doused in so much butter that my stomach didn't agree with all the fat post-meal. I'm not the biggest fan of kimchi or side salads but everyone at the table was in agreement that the taste was just meh. The side salad was not a mac salad but some sort of corn concoction? Sometimes you find a little gem in your own backyard...this is one of those situations for me. You can easily miss Young's kitchen when driving by as it is a fairly small storefront in a tiny strip mall. Do yourself a favor and seek this one out; We tried it for the first time last night my wife ordering the Chili Chicken while I had the BBQ Kalbi Plate (with pork). The food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. The service was as friendly and welcoming as you could ever hope for. We plan to return very soon. read more

Young's Korean BBQ exists in the same spot that Kim's formerly did, in the parking lot of Safeway on 112th. I ordered the Korean Chili Chicken to go. It comes with rice, your choice of pickled vegetables or kimchi, and a corn salad. It costs about 15.95. Upon opening my to-go container at home, the portions of chicken and rice are ample. There was a nice portion of kimchi and of the corn salad. I tried the corn salad first. The salad is a style of con saelreodeu, a sweet corn and mayo based salad with onions and some peppers. It had a nice crunch to the vegetables and corn, and was sweet like would be expected. I found it a bit too sweet for my taste, but it wasn't candy sweet or anything. Next for the chicken. I asked if it was like a buldak and she said that no, it was her own recipe and a different dish. The chicken (dark meat) was well fried and had a sticky and shiny coating, and looked very nice (see image). It was on a bed of short/medium grain rice that had a nice sticky quality to it as well. Biting into the meat, I found the chicken incredibly juicy with a very sweet flavor profile. Here's where I'm a bit sad to say that it was not as I'd hope. The flavor profile was rather one note (sweet) and I got almost no spice to it. It also didn't taste strongly of anything else, so if you had asked me I don't know I would have said it was Korean chicken vs like, the more American Chinese food coated chicken you can find in a lot of places. The rice did absorb the sauce, which again was very sweet. The star of the show, ironically, was the kimchi. It was crunchy and pungent, with some spice and a nice well rounded fermented flavor that was delicious over the rice. Honestly, I would have happily had that and a bowl of rice and called it a day. read more

I ordered the chilli chicken and a Dr. Pepper food was okish nothing special 1 star. I absolutely hate leaving hungry, the portion size was way too small. It reminded me a of lunch special worth $8. Service was ok nothing special. The ambiance was basic but very clean so I added 1 star. I'll never go back not worth my $20 read more

A delightful twist on teriyaki. The service was superb the food came quickly and the dishes were delicious. I had the beef and it was well done with just the right amount of sauce. The kalbi ribs are definitely the way to go if you want beef. The chicken was tender and well marinated. The garlic shrimp was very garlicky but well cooked. I think the Korean chilli chicken really took the prize for taste; just the right balance of sweet and spice without being too spicy (I'm a spicy wimp, hubs says it wasn't spice at all). Because of the great reviews we stopped at Youngs Kitchen this afternoon. Except for someone picking up a to go order we were the only ones in there. The owner was helpful and so friendly. I ordered the chicken bbq with corn salad and pickled cucumbers. The chicken was favorable and cooked perfectly. If I had one suggestion it might be a little sauce to blend with the rice. I enjoyed the corn salad. Never had anything like it before. My husband had the chicken curry with the same sides. He thought it was good and would order it again. He also liked the corn salad. The new owner has completed revamped what used to be a dark, dingy hole in the wall into a bright, clean and very welcoming space and the food reflects their care for their food fare and their customers. We were greeted by the owner. She is so sweet and genuinely excited about every customer who enters the door! She fully explained to us her menu and how much she loves to cook and took a minute to explain why Spaghetti was on the menu! She said her entire family loves her spaghetti and that she had to put it on the menu! I asked about the Kalbi. There was a young girl eating and the owners asked, "How's the Kalbi?" The young girl, still chewing excitedly gave a two thumbs up and a huge smile. You arrive at Young's feeling very welcomed. Genuinely welcomed. Pictured is our order. On the left is Spicy Pork with pickled veggies. One the right is Korean Chili Chicken with kimchi. Every order comes with rice and corn salad. The spicy pork is spicy, but not too spicy and the same for the chili chicken. If you desire extra HOT spicy Korean food this isn't it. Maybe you can ask for extra spicy, we didn't. I'll ask next time if that's an option. That's not what we expected and were both extremely pleased with our meals though a little more spice would be fine. The spicy pork was cooked perfectly with a perfect little char on the edges of many pieces and very tender. The corn salad is to die for and the pickled veggies were super tasty. I tend to eat a little of this and a little of that through my meals and everything blended together very well. The chili chicken was also cooked perfectly tender and not dry. The chili sauce is lovely. My wife love kimchi and she was in heaven! The prices speak for themselves but there is real value here. We both saved half our food for lunch the next day.
