Everything you want in a locally loved diner with friendly staff and great food. Joe Brown's has a fascinating history, starting as a soup kitchen during the great depression, and is the oldest restaurant in Vancouver to date. The food was spot on, not greasy - just clean and solid flavors. Breakfast meats were great (the polish sausage!). No pretense, just good food, and good people. We were in town for 2 days and even though there were other options, we came here both days for breakfast and weren't disappointed. Fun little trivia cards on the table... and ample condiments... definitely worth a visit if you're in town!!

Nice diner. Great local vibe, efficient waitress, good food. Sat at the bar and ended up talking to a local man for 30 minutes about life. Waitress girl was very nice and pleasant. Had omelette and two pancakes. Tasty. Huge.

This place has such a cozy, old-school diner vibe, which I enjoyed. I went on a Saturday morning, and despite this being a very busy time I was seated quickly. The server was kind and checked in often. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed by the food. My veggie omelette lacked flavor, the hash browns were soggy, and my sourdough toast was stale. Honestly, I think this place is popular just because it's been around so long and the portions are large. Definitely better options in Vancouver for breakfast!

If you are looking for something special, this whole in the wall old school diner, this is the place. This small diner can pack them in. Come hungry, because they are serving large portions. Perfectly crisp hash browns flood the plate with a 4 egg omelette. Friendly waitress with your coffee constantly being refilled!

Service was awesome. Super fast. When you order food, it is out in minutes. Prices are on the higher side, but the portion size makes up for it. Excellent food. Love the small town diner/cafe feel.

My friend Sandee and I visited Joe Browns Cafe today and had a very enjoyable breakfast. I ordered a half JB Omelet. Plus a side of bacon cause I wanted a couple bacon strips. It was delicious. Even a half portion was too much for me. If you've ever enjoyed reading the back of a cereal box you'll love looking at all the pictures and sayings on the walls! The service was very attentive. We enjoyed our meal.

We went to this place for a Saturday brunch and I really love their ambience. It's very old school ambience with black, gold, mint green interiors. Service was amazing, the staff were very polite, nice and friendly. Food: We ordered breakfast items like scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast, french toast, omelette. The hash browns were one of the best I have had so far, they are so fresh and crispy, absolutely loved them. French toast was nice. Food was of the regular diner style food. Coffee was good too. Overall, a really nice place to try for brunch or breakfast in Vancouver WA.

Wow I have nothing but nice things to say about this place! The vibes are so cozy and homey, as a Texan this is what I think when I imagine PNW! It feels like the diners you see in the movies with the kindest servers, the constant coffee refills, yummy burgers, delicious breakfast. The service was quick and so kind! We tried the: * mushroom Swiss burger- this burger was cooked very well, they did not skimp on the veggies (so many pickles yum!!!), and they had condiments you could add yourself. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly, and the Swiss tasted sooo bold and delicious with the mushroom combo. Would recommend! * chili burger- this was more of a plate of chili with a side of burger haha, it was messy to eat but tasty. The chili is not anything special, but warm and delicious chili as expected. * December special (polish sausage scramble with spinach, tomato, Swiss cheese, hashbrowns, toast)- a good combo of flavors and textures. The Swiss cheese made the dish! * 1/2 veggie omelet- so big for being a 1/2 size! This was a classic diner omelet experience, very fulfilling. Veggies were cooked well, it was cheesy, and there were hot sauce options on the table to choose from. Important to note that there were GF options for bread for the side of toast as well as the sandwiches!! We love that:) Would recommend this place for a cozy and fulfilling breakfast with good ambiance, funny wall art, and a good history (the menu cover will explain more haha)!

Huge fluffy pancakes, delicious everything, and the sweetest people. I recommend the coffee. Really great value also.

The lads over there are real welcoming and nice! The aunties and uncles know what they're doing for sure. They got some sweet history by the walls too. It's sad they close so early but it's a nice brunch place! Forgot to take a pic (low quality sorry) before eating but it's real filling and cheap! Got this BLT for $9.99($10.85 with tax) and DAMN was it good.

My wife and I went to Joe Brown's Cafe. Greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Sat immediately. Our server was excellent. Food was good. Every thing was freshly made. Ambiance was great. Very low noise levels. It's a hidden gem.

The bread was toasted and buttery, and the corned beef was steaming hot and delicious. The Caesar salad was also very good. I did not leave hungry; the portion size was large. It was a very filling meal. The service was top-notch. It was a Saturday at 11 AM. It was not packed but decently crowded, and all of the servers seemed to be on their game. The ambiance reminds me of an old-school deli. It was very clean, and there was ample seating. My friend lives in Vancouver, so I will definitely be back to try more of the food offerings when I'm in the area visiting.

We've been wanting to try this place for awhile now, but it always looks so busy on the weekends,…read moreso we waited until we had a day off during the week. We arrived around 11:30 on a Wednesday. It was still pretty busy, and only two booths were open. We were first on the wait list. We only waited about 5 minutes for the host to clear the tables and set them. Staff was friendly and welcoming. You can tell it's a popular place by how busy it was on a weekday. This restaurant occupies an older building in downtown Vancouver. There is street parking available. It's a small establishment, but they do a great job of utilizing every inch. They even have a nice waiting area by the door with two long wooden benches. There are both table and chair seating, as well as a few booths. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the croissant club sandwich with fries and the triple play with half a reuben sandwich, Celtic Caesar salad and a cup of Irish stew. My hubby also asked for a side of bacon. The food came out rather quickly considering how busy they were. Everything we ordered we devoured. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I added avocado to my club sandwich and it was so yummy! Prices are more than reasonable compared to other establishments. You get a generous portion as well. Overall we were happy with the service, food and prices. We'll definitely return to try their breakfast options. Everything looked so appealing as it came out of the kitchen. Would highly recommend!

They are a scratch kitchen, meaning everything is prepared in their kitchen and it's noticeable. We ran into the chef and he said they make everything but "the bread and the ketchup!" For lunch, we had the meat lover's pizza (real pieces of bacon) and ceasars salad (with an actual anchovy) - both delicious. At breakfast, we got the benedict and spinach mushroom omelet that came with incredible potatoes (trying to figure out how to replicate these!) Also got a side of bacon, which was melt-in-the-mouth good. Super tasty. We only had breakfast and lunch, but we were very happy and would come back in a heartbeat. Every server was incredibly friendly and solicitous, checking in on us with Goldilocks frequency (i.e., just right). Prices were also reasonable and, if this isn't enough for you, how would you like a view of the river while you dine?!? There is a lovely patio but you don't have to sit outside to enjoy the view.
