Veggie & Cheddar Cheese Omelet with hashbrowns
    Payton H.

This place has such a cozy, old-school diner vibe, which I enjoyed. I went on a Saturday morning, and despite this being a very busy time I was seated quickly. The server was kind and checked in often. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed by the food. My veggie omelette lacked flavor, the hash browns were soggy, and my sourdough toast was stale. Honestly, I think this place is popular just because it's been around so long and the portions are large. Definitely better options in Vancouver for breakfast!

If you are looking for something special, this whole in the wall old school diner, this is the place. This small diner can pack them in. Come hungry, because they are serving large portions. Perfectly crisp hash browns flood the plate with a 4 egg omelette. Friendly waitress with your coffee constantly being refilled!

My friend Sandee and I visited Joe Browns Cafe today and had a very enjoyable breakfast. I ordered a half JB Omelet. Plus a side of bacon cause I wanted a couple bacon strips. It was delicious. Even a half portion was too much for me. If you've ever enjoyed reading the back of a cereal box you'll love looking at all the pictures and sayings on the walls! The service was very attentive. We enjoyed our meal.

Service was awesome. Super fast. When you order food, it is out in minutes. Prices are on the higher side, but the portion size makes up for it. Excellent food. Love the small town diner/cafe feel.

Mushroom Swiss Burger with Potato Chips

Wow I have nothing but nice things to say about this place! The vibes are so cozy and homey, as a Texan this is what I think when I imagine PNW! It feels like the diners you see in the movies with the kindest servers, the constant coffee refills, yummy burgers, delicious breakfast. The service was quick and so kind! We tried the: * mushroom Swiss burger- this burger was cooked very well, they did not skimp on the veggies (so many pickles yum!!!), and they had condiments you could add yourself. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly, and the Swiss tasted sooo bold and delicious with the mushroom combo. Would recommend! * chili burger- this was more of a plate of chili with a side of burger haha, it was messy to eat but tasty. The chili is not anything special, but warm and delicious chili as expected. * December special (polish sausage scramble with spinach, tomato, Swiss cheese, hashbrowns, toast)- a good combo of flavors and textures. The Swiss cheese made the dish! * 1/2 veggie omelet- so big for being a 1/2 size! This was a classic diner omelet experience, very fulfilling. Veggies were cooked well, it was cheesy, and there were hot sauce options on the table to choose from. Important to note that there were GF options for bread for the side of toast as well as the sandwiches!! We love that:) Would recommend this place for a cozy and fulfilling breakfast with good ambiance, funny wall art, and a good history (the menu cover will explain more haha)!

We went to this place for a Saturday brunch and I really love their ambience. It's very old school ambience with black, gold, mint green interiors. Service was amazing, the staff were very polite, nice and friendly. Food: We ordered breakfast items like scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast, french toast, omelette. The hash browns were one of the best I have had so far, they are so fresh and crispy, absolutely loved them. French toast was nice. Food was of the regular diner style food. Coffee was good too. Overall, a really nice place to try for brunch or breakfast in Vancouver WA.

Huge fluffy pancakes, delicious everything, and the sweetest people. I recommend the coffee. Really great value also.

The lads over there are real welcoming and nice! The aunties and uncles know what they're doing for sure. They got some sweet history by the walls too. It's sad they close so early but it's a nice brunch place! Forgot to take a pic (low quality sorry) before eating but it's real filling and cheap! Got this BLT for $9.99($10.85 with tax) and DAMN was it good.

My wife and I went to Joe Brown's Cafe. Greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Sat immediately. Our server was excellent. Food was good. Every thing was freshly made. Ambiance was great. Very low noise levels. It's a hidden gem.

We came to Joe Brown's Cafe for breakfast and really enjoyed our meal. Kudos to all the staff! Ella our waitress was terrific! She was very courteous, professional and helpful. She offered throughout to refill our beverages throughout the meal and asked if we were okay or needing anything. The place itself has a nostalgic feel. There are booths, tables or bar stools for seating choices. We will be coming back if in the area for a breakfast meal. Enjoy!

This is the classic diner feel I love so much! First off, the service is great! Vicky takes such great care of you, my coffee cup never got below half full. The food was out fast and it was cooked just right. I got the Joe Brown A breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly to order and the hamburger patty side was a nice alternative to sausage. Oh... the coffee is really good too! Great location, great food, great service!

Pit Ham breakfast and hamburger steak breakfast. Huuuuuuge portions!

Food is delicious, coffee is tasty and the portions are insane. Happy we made the stop during our trip.

Very tasty small classic diner. Eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, biscuits and gravy all rocked. Coffee was the only letdown. Friendly staff too.

It was a very filling meal. The service was top-notch. It was a Saturday at 11 AM. It was not packed but decently crowded, and all of the servers seemed to be on their game. We arrived around 11:30 on a Wednesday. It was still pretty busy, and only two booths were open. We were first on the wait list. We only waited about 5 minutes for the host to clear the tables and set them. Staff was friendly and welcoming. You can tell it's a popular place by how busy it was on a weekday. This restaurant occupies an older building in downtown Vancouver. There is street parking available. It's a small establishment, but they do a great job of utilizing every inch. They even have a nice waiting area by the door with two long wooden benches. There are both table and chair seating, as well as a few booths. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the croissant club sandwich with fries and the triple play with half a reuben sandwich, Celtic Caesar salad and a cup of Irish stew. My hubby also asked for a side of bacon. The food came out rather quickly considering how busy they were. Everything we ordered we devoured. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I added avocado to my club sandwich and it was so yummy! Prices are more than reasonable compared to other establishments. You get a generous portion as well. Overall we were happy with the service, food and prices. We'll definitely return to try their breakfast options. Everything looked so appealing as it came out of the kitchen. Would highly recommend!

DAIRY ALLERGY MISHANDLED -- WAITER LIED ABOUT CHECKING WITH THE KITCHEN…read more My girlfriend has a serious dairy allergy. Before she arrived, I spent time with our waiter going through the menu carefully -- no butter, no dairy, confirmed twice. He even went back to check with the kitchen and returned saying her meal was completely dairy free. It wasn't. Someone else at the table tasted the green beans and suspected butter. When I asked again, the waiter confirmed they'd been cooked in oil and butter -- after already telling us they were safe. By then the pork chop had been sitting on top of them and was contaminated. His response? "I can bring you another side." No offer to replace the meal. No offer to remove it from the check. Nothing. We had a show to catch at the Magenta Theater and no time to push it, so my girlfriend skipped dinner and grabbed something at Burgerville afterward -- she had a headache by the end of the show. The food and everything else about the evening was genuinely good. But between the false assurance, the contaminated meal, and the complete absence of any effort to make it right, I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone managing a food allergy -- and I'll be thinking hard before coming back myself.
