El Mesón is a cozy and lovely restaurant with a very warm atmosphere. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. The food was delicious, and you can really taste the care in every dish. The handmade tortillas were amazing and a big highlight for me. This is the first time I mention restrooms in a review, but I have to say it because I am very picky about that. El Mesón has the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in Ensenada. That alone says a lot about how well they care for their place. I will definitely be coming back.

It's all about the tortillas. This place has handmade corn and flour tortillas. The tortillas taste so good you cannot go wrong ordering flour or corn tortillas. The chips and salsa are good. The salsa has a kick to it, but not too bad. Their coffee is ok (tastes like cheap nestle). The frappe mocha is ok (VERY sweet). The rice and beans were cooked well and tasted good. The enchiladas were a disappointment. The cheese inside was not melted, and the sauce was meh. Come here for the tortillas. You won't be disappointed. Other items are ok.

Looking for some food before heading back to our cruise and the lady making tortillas up front caught our eye. The smell was to die for and it was packed so we decided to eat here. It was a pleasant atmosphere and there was live music which made it even better. We were given little corn cakes, they were so good. We both got the chilaquiles with red sauce, one had beef. The sauce was so flavorful! This was an amazingly delicious meal. Service was relatively quick and nice. Every bite was to die for, I wish I could dine here all time, too bad it's not in the same country. Try it, you'll like it!

While on a cruise to Ensenada, my husband and I decided to look for a new restaurant for breakfast. On a prior trip, we walked past El Meson de Don Fernando. There was a lady making homemade flour tortillas outside, which caught my eye. So, we recently tried out this restaurant. I ordered huevos divorciados and coffee. My husband ordered eggs with ham and fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was delicious. Both of our meals were great! They gave us little corn muffins with jam before our food arrived. The flour tortillas were great. We really enjoyed our breakfast and will definitely go back!

I ordered red chilaquiles with a side of beans So impressed by their plate presentation and taste! *order their guacamole and chips You will not regret it!

We found this really cute restaurant on our walk through Ensenada coming from our Carnival cruise. There happened to be a parade in the street outside, we we sat under the covered patio area outside and watched the parade. We had wonderful service and delicious fish tacos. We ordered guacamole and chips as well. The guacamole was freshly made and the fish was from the local fish market. The restrooms here are very clean and nice. I highly recommend for cruisers looking for a nice place to eat with great service and delicious food and prices were reasonable as well. Five stars

I honestly don't recommend it!!! Pancakes had too much cinnamon, chilaquiles were sour (not using the correct amount of green tomatoes), they decorate food over plates when they should be paying attention to flavor!! Cafe de holla was not a a real cafe de holla, when you know? You know... The price is ok, and the location is great! Need to improve in flavor!!! I was disappointed, what happened to real authentic Mexican chilaquiles?

Great place to have fresh tortillas, lady is making them right outside the restaurant. Staff ready to help and to make you comfortable, provide shade and you are protected from traffic. Food is good and price is as expected in that area. Toilets are very clean! I recommend it!

My wife and I frequent this restaurant for breakfast when we are in Ensenada. The service is very attentive and the food is delicious. I especially like the fresh corn and flour tortillas served with the meal. They have both inside and outside seating.

To be honest, the food was just mediocre--but that might be because we had incredible food the day before at another spot. The restaurant itself is beautiful and fairly large, and the portions were pretty generous. One thing that stood out was that Ensenada seems to have a lot of street vendors. While we were eating, one actually walked right into the restaurant and came up to our table trying to sell us flowers. I guess it could be considered romantic, but he had already approached us outside earlier as well. The staff also felt a bit standoffish. Service was slow, and no one really came back to check if we needed anything. Our nachos ended up being about $25, though they did accept USD. The last time my friends attempted to eat here, the restaurant was full and it will take at least a 30 minute wait to get seated. Today, the 21st of November was our lucky day as we were craving the freshest ceviche Ensenada has to offer and experiencce the five star rating Muelle 3 was known for. Our party of 4 chose to sit outside to eat lunch on this cool, cloudy Friday afternoon and be exposed to the sights and sounds of this busy commercial and fishing port. Within minutes of getting settled, our free appetizer - Tortilla Espanola and a plate full of lemon & lime slices with an oyster shell-full of sea salt and chili powder occupied the center of our table. Then came the Ceviche de la casa. A winner in my book of ceviches! Plus a coaster-sized, fresh off the pan tortilla chips gave it a unique serving style. We had to order another bowl of tortillas because eating ceviche without it just won't be the same. The Calamar frito were perefectly breaded, without excess flour and grease in every bite. Another winner! Last but not the least is the Pasta de Mar with the clams of different sizes and pre-cut scallops in the their shell. Muy Delicioso! More hungry patrons started arriving and we still got prompt service. I will make it a point to grab a satisfying seafood dish or two here the next time I visit Ensenada whether by car or by cruise ship.
