I would give it 3.5 stars, r for effort :) Pros: Good parking Cute clean place Good air circulation Broad menu Cons: Prices same as el centro. Expensive for the area Food quality ok for home but not like el centro chef level For the value 3 stars. To support local business, giving 4 stars :)

We've driven by several times and always wanted to stop. I'm glad we finally did because La Cocina del Fat was spectacular. 3 of the 4 people in our party ordered chilequilles, both the green and the red were very good. We all left very full and stayed full for hours. Excellent breakfast for $25usd! Also everything was very clean and appropriately spaced in a COVID environment. We speak enough Spanish to get by but our server spoke excellent English!

Went here for brunch and the place was pumping, and rightly so. Firstly, the service was fantastic. Staff are awesome. We then ordered food and they brought us an additional barbacoa taco to try .. it was so good we had to order another one each! Also, I have to mention the traditional coffee. It is excellent. This place is a must visit! Thank you!

This place was absolutely delicious! Growing up Mexican American the cuisine for breakfast had different items, some days we would do omelettes with Spanish rice and beans, while others menudo in Sunday's, other days it was chorizo with a side of pancakes and bacon. This place is traditional giving every kind of pallet a an option to choose from. HOUSE TIP: Order the coffee. It's made with cinnamon cloves & hints of orange made over the stove - An old traditional Mexican grandmother classical recipe! Delishhh. I ordered the menudo came with fresh made bread and tortilla chips and salsa! As well as the huevos divorciados (red / green chilaquiles). BOOOOOMB!!!

Lots of parking keep a look out for this place

This place deserves more than 5 stars. Not only do they have great customer service the food is delicious. Maru and Christian are amazing people with huge hearts they make you feel at home! Perfect spot for coffee and breakfast in the morning. It was so good we came in the evening and tried thier pasta and burgers and it was so tasty! Be patient for the chef is the only one making the food with some assistance. But he makes sure every plate ordered has amazing flavor and is just what you expect! If you visit because of this review make sure you tell them vianey from San Diego convinced you to try it!

Bang-on brunch staples, friendly service, cheerful decor. I'd be here every weekend if I lived nearby.

Decent food, good service, coffee shop ambiance. Prices have gone up since Covid and they tend to be on the higher end now.

Agreed. Great service, and surprisingly good food... Very typical faire but well made (which is harder to come by) and therefore yummy!

The Asadores are awesome and will let you try a sample before you order. I got a small piece of the pastor and asada and both were great! I'm more of an Al Pastor guy so I got a couple of those on corn tortillas and a single asada taco "Con todo" and it was huge! Couple the tacos with a Coca Cola and you've got a small slice of heaven on a colorful plastic plate! I've since been back a dozen or more times when staying at Estero Beach Hotel or on the way back to the house from playing golf at Baja Country Club as a "hold me over" until dinner. If you're driving north or south on Hwy. 1, take a quick detour off the main path for a meal or a snack. You won't be disappointed. Pro Tip: Get the pineapple on the al pastor tacos. See you guys soon!! I'll always be back.

Usually there's a huge line for Carne Asada tacos, but often because people don't know that if they want the adobada tacos, they need to go to the other line. When I went, there was no line for the adobada tacos so I went straight in and got my tacos as I wanted! The tacos were a good size, tasty, and super fresh! I wish I would've tried the Carne tacos, but the line was so long - next time! Then get your tacos and pay for it on the side. Good to go! I recommend the crêpe shop next-door to if they're open when you go.

For starters, this place is Michelin recognized, and was rated best breakfast in the world in 2015…read moreby FoodieHub. I told myself if I'm ever in the area again, I have to make an effort to eat at this place. Well, the opportunity arose as I was staying at a nearby winery. The biggest problem I encountered was finding a ride to get to this restaurant. Taxis are nonexistent in the area. Ubers are only in the area when someone from Ensenada requests a round trip to the area, so no they are not available to others. Therefore, I expressed my frustration with the front desk at my winery hotel and they took on the task of finding me private transportation. About 40 minutes later, they called my room to inform me that they located a driver. Unfortunately, he requested an inflated price for the to and from the restaurant. Private drivers down here know that you have few choices, therefore, they can ask inflated prices. Yes, I was in a pickle, but I really wanted to go. I did not rent a car because many of the roads hug cliffs and everyone drives fast, because they know where all of the mountain curves are. Being from Chicago, where we also drive fast but don't have mountain cliff roads decided to play it safe and let others do the driving for me. Anyhow, I debated, and in the end agreed to the expensive terms because when I going to get the opportunity again to eat at a place rated best breakfast in the world? How was the breakfast? It was absolutely delicious, everything was made from scratch. I ordered the cafe de la olla which interprets into coffee from the pot because typically it is prepared with raw sugar (piloncillo), canella (cinnamon sticks), and orange zest. How was the coffee? Delicious. I had some machaca (small bits of dried beef) with eggs which came with delicious refried beans. I also ordered the excellent chilaquiles with an egg and a side of bacon. I also needed to order the one thing most talk about on their menu which is the corn bread pancakes. They used the recipe for a typical corn bread sold down here called pan de elote to make the pancakes, and yes, they were excellent. Turning the batter from this recipe into pancakes was a brilliant idea. Also, I cannot leave out the great tasting freshly made corn tortillas that came with the food. The tortillas down here taste different from the ones back in Chicago because down here a white heirloom corn is utilized rather than the sweet yellow dent corn from the Midwest. Was it the best breakfast that I have ever had in Mexico, or anywhere else for that matter? Well, it definitely lived up to the hype the breakfast was amazing and I do highly recommend it. If you do decide to visit, my best advice is show up early because a line forms very early. I have been lucky to have also had other amazing breakfasts in Mexico and other places in my travels. The secret to this restaurant sits right behind it. On the restaurant grounds is an active ranch, which also doubles as a small zoo, where they source their milk and meats from. Yes, they raise their own animals which later become items on the menu. Does that fresh matter? Yes, it absolutely does make all of the difference. Does it sound cruel? Well, that is a whole other conversation. Let's just say the animals are treated humanely. All of the livestock looked happy as they roamed around the grounds. Unlike the way livestock is treated inhumanly in the United States in dirty overcrowded housing where some never get to see the sun or roam freely in the open air. Livestock in the US are constantly given antibiotics and growth hormones, also fed gmo feed with questionable health implications for those that consume them.
