Mi Kaza's cooking class was hands down my favorite overseas cooking class yet - particularly because of the man himself. Les, the owner and head chef, was fantastic!! He's an Oklahoma native with a great sense of humor and lots of history embedded into all of the information taught about local ingredients and true authentic cuisine. My husband and I were not on a cruise, however, we were able to easily hop on one of the cruise tours that includes a stop at a restaurant with cooking classes. Classes are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10:30 am. It was evident locals were also in love with the place, as the clientele had explicitly stated they were there for the milanesa. Thanks so much, Les!! Really great experience for me and Baz. As a young couple interested in opening a restaurant, it was great being able to pick your brain a bit! Priceless information and a great time! A must if you are going to Ensenada - whether it's for the food or cooking class!!!

This was a fun visit. I also attended a cooking class and it was a fun class. The lunch was following the class was delicious. I ordered 2 virgin melon margarita as one was not enough. It was that good...no doubt you' ll have fun. And the owner Les was from Fullerton, CA. Its a good experience.

We went on the search for dinner, with so many places available to eat, the choice was tough. We came here, oh my. I had Mexican combo and my hubby brought fish for them to cook. They went above and beyond, in fact were going to have breakfast there tomorrow. They made us sashimi with the yellow tail and cooked the rest, it was to dye for. Good job

    The presentation is awesome

My friend and I did a cooking class here this weekend and it was fabulous! Gustavo walked us thru making salsa w a molcajete, guacamole and pellizcases. We got to enjoy delicious sangria while we made our food. It was a lot of food we were able to share with our husbands after there bike race! Definitely want to come back with our friends and make another dish! If you are looking for something to do while in Ensenada- this should be on your list!

Everything in this restaurant is delicious! From the handmade tortillas and tostadas, to the refreshing drinks, and everything in between. Not to mention the super friendly service and beautiful decorations. I loved the atmosphere here. Highly recommend.

Came here for cooking classes through our cruise. Best decision we could have made. Les made us feel right at home and explained everything so that even a novice like me could make great food. The drinks were inexpensive but the quality was incredible. Definitely would recommend coming here and trying one of everything. Also free WiFi!!

Food was okay but needed more flavor. Went for breakfast and got omelettes. Average price. No ice in my orange juice!!

It looked like there was some of a wait time, but it turned out they did have a table for 2 available. The wait time is mostly for large parties. If you do come with a large party they have seating in the back just note it will take awhile. By large I mean 11 people (2 parties of 11 people showed up when I was there). The food. So many yummy options I had a hard time picking. I ended up ordering the combination plate as it included a little bit of everything: your choice of either green or red chilaquiles, machaca (shredded beef not the dry one), egg, beans and some fries. I also ordered fresh orange juice as I can't say no to fresh juices. I ATE EVERYTHING! It was so good I couldn't stop eating even when I knew I was full LOL. Side note def get the coffee as it is really good. We actually ended up buying the coffee they bought with us called La Negrita and is a couple of minutes away from the restaurant. Plus a local coffee vendor. Staff is super friendly and service is fast (for smaller parties). Place is clean and does have parking in the back. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast. If I am ever back in the area I am definitely coming back!

The long lines meant - it was so good and worth the wait. Honestly, it wasn't too long. My friend and I ordered 1 tostada each. She got the aguachiles and I the Guera. Great portions packed with flavor. I went back for oysters, which they shuck right in front of you. There were so many chile bottles to choose from. They also had some dark "crack" sauce that I chose to put on. I'm no sabo so I no sabo what the salsa was but it was delicious. Spicy, tangy, umami. Muyyyy ricooooo

Thus we made a point to stop by for food during our second cruise stop in Ensenada, 4 days later. We discovered the large crowds were not in line waiting, but were instead enjoying their ceviche and other cold seafood while standing up. It made for a festive atmosphere, definitely ramping up the enjoyment of really great tasting seafood. The food stall is located facing the main road of Ensenada (walking distance from the cruise port) and is separated into two parts: the front serving seafood tostadas and the back serving cocktails and aquachiles. Each had different lines, with a common guy accepting payment after delivery. They have been doing this for a while (1981?) and things are efficient. I wanted one thing, which was the mixed cocktail with all the seafood available (campechano, a word I've come to love since moving to the LA area). They have 4 sizes from chico ($105) to jumbo ($360). The seafood mix is diced together ahead of time to save on time, and are mostly diced pretty fine. The mix is prepared fresh though, and was ready in about a minute. It was excellent, refreshing and just the right amount for me. I had wanted to try the seafood cocktail again from La Guerrerense (another nearby famous seafood stand), so that was our first stop during our second visit to Ensenada in 5 days. We then visited other sites in the area, saving El Guero for the end before we headed back to the ship. As expected the cocktail from Guerrerense was very good, but this version from El Guero was even better....better selection of seafood, and more finely mixed to give a better representation of the different textures of the freshness. That would make it the best seafood cocktail I've ever enjoyed.
