I absolutely LOVED this excursion in Ensenada Mexico for the day! Mi Kaza is an authentic little Mexican restaurant. They offer a trip to the restaurant for a cooking class to make your own "Pellizcada's" it's like a taco that is not wrapped but in a corn meal pie crust. I can only base Mi Kaza on the cooking class we took via Carnival. From the outside, the restaurant looks like most other buildings in the area. Inside though, it's really big. When we came in, we washed our hands and got started pretty fast. We made salsa and pellizcadas. For the salsa, we used garlic, onion, peppers (I used habanero and Serrano chilis), roasted tomato, and salt. We made it in a molcajete. Then, we made the shell for the pellizcada. Pamela was awesome and made everything really easy! After we were done, they fried he shells for us and the. Then they added cheese to melt on the shell. Then we added our pre-made toppings. I did chicken and beef for the meats. Then I added lettuce, more cheese, cactus salad, and finally the salsa I had made earlier. The toppings were good. The experience is mostly what I loved here! I think it would be more fun if you make everything yourself, but I understand why we couldn't with time constraints. read more

Mi Kaza's cooking class was hands down my favorite overseas cooking class yet - particularly because of the man himself. Les, the owner and head chef, was fantastic!! He's an Oklahoma native with a great sense of humor and lots of history embedded into all of the information taught about local ingredients and true authentic cuisine. My husband and I were not on a cruise, however, we were able to easily hop on one of the cruise tours that includes a stop at a restaurant with cooking classes. Classes are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10:30 am. It was evident locals were also in love with the place, as the clientele had explicitly stated they were there for the milanesa. Thanks so much, Les!! Really great experience for me and Baz. As a young couple interested in opening a restaurant, it was great being able to pick your brain a bit! Priceless information and a great time! I've been coming here for YEARS and now that Yelp is in Mexico it's a whole new world for me! I got turned on to Mi Kaza by a bunch of guys from Hawaii and figuring that Hawaiians know food I figured I'd give it a try. Plus being a fattie... I mean..... foodie I'm always on the hunt for the next great meal and Mi Kaza doesn't disappoint. I've only been here for breakfast as I'm seldom in town for lunch. I've had the Chilaquiles with chicken, eggs and chorizo and all are great.. The Omelet Jimmy is also wonderful.. Ham, bacon, chorizo and cheese. How could it be bad?? The Machaca al Gusto is really good and they have a 1/2 order too. The machaca con huevo is also pretty good and the tortillas are fresh and yummy! Great OJ and coffee.. My friend and I did a cooking class here this weekend and it was fabulous! Gustavo walked us thru making salsa w a molcajete, guacamole and pellizcases. We got to enjoy delicious sangria while we made our food. It was a lot of food we were able to share with our husbands after there bike race! my first time being in mexico, came here for breakfast the first day. Ordered the chilaqueilles it was DELICIOUS , freshly squeezed orange juice and perfect avocados it was divine. I am definitely recommending this place to ANYONE, place is charming and with a big space great customer service and the cleanest restrooms I have encountered. My husband and I were in Ensanada, which was the last stop on our California Coastal Cruise. We have never been to Ensanada, so we wanted to at least check it out. We got into town very early and decided to try and find someplace to have breakfast. Boy did we luck out when we found Mi Kaza. Such a great place! The service was warm and friendly, and the food was to die for! We both got the Chilaquiles with machaca. The portions were huge and everything was delicious. Less than $20 for both of us! They have wonderful, fresh squeezed orange juice too and even the coffee is good. We will definitely be coming back here on our next trip to Ensanada. read more

If you are looking for authentic food this is not the place. Beans tasted like from a can. Salsa had no flavor. I ordered chilaquiles they were soggy and the salsa also tasted from a can. Was very disappointed since it had good reviews. read more

This is honestly not good except for the lemonade 100% do not recommend I would have rated this zero stars but there isn't that option.

The food was delicious, the serving size was more than enough. I will be coming back next time I am in Ensenada.

I wish they would change the description because we didn't find this gem through Yelp. We actually asked a local and he told us this was the bomb and as always the locals are right!! We actually are avid Yelpers and didn't find this place because of what it was under!!! Hopefully everyone finds this place through Yelp or by accident because the food is authentic and plentiful. There is even pancakes with traditional American fixings. Try the enormous fresh squeezed orange juice. The service is FAST and super nice. Remember to ask for your bill when they grab your dishes- it's not the states where they give you the bill and want you to leave the table ASAP!! In most Latin countries it's all about the company and eating slowly. They won't give you the bill unless you ask for it and they won't stink eye you if your sitting at a table for hours!!
